| 2. | The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that the ground teems with, and all the fish of the sea are delivered into your hand. | And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. |
ומוראכם וחתכם יהיה על כל־חית הארץ ועל כל־עוף השמים בכל אשר תרמש האדמה ובכל־דגי הים בידכם נתנו׃ |

| 3. | Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As the green herb, I have given everything to you. | Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. |

| 5. | I will surely require your blood of your lives. At the hand of every animal I will require it. | 7. | Be fruitful and multiply. Bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it." | And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. |

| 9. | "As for me, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you, | And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; |
ואני הנני מקים את־בריתי אתכם ואת־זרעכם אחריכם׃ |
V'aNY HNNY MQYM 'aTh-BUrYThY 'aThKM V'aTh-ZUr'yKM 'aChUrYKM. | `And I, lo, I am establishing My covenant with you, and with your seed after you, | ecce ego statuam pactum meum vobiscum et cum semine vestro post vos | |||||
| 10. | and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ship, even every animal of the earth. | And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. |
ואת כל־נפש החיה אשר אתכם בעוף בבהמה ובכל־חית הארץ אתכם מכל יצאי התבה לכל חית הארץ׃ |
V'aTh KL-NPhSh HChYH 'aShUr 'aThKM B'yVPh BBHMH VBKL-ChYTh H'aUrTSh 'aThKM MKL YTSh'aY HThBH LKL ChYTh H'aUrTSh. | and with every living creature which is with you, among fowl, among cattle, and among every beast of the earth with you, from all who are going out of the ark -- to every beast of the earth. | et ad omnem animam viventem quae est vobiscum tam in volucribus quam in iumentis et pecudibus terrae cunctis quae egressa sunt de arca et universis bestiis terrae | |||||

והקמתי את־בריתי אתכם ולא־יכרת כל־בשר עוד ממי המבול ולא־יהיה עוד מבול לשחת הארץ׃ |
VHQMThY 'aTh-BUrYThY 'aThKM VL'a-YKUrTh KL-BShUr 'yVD MMY HMBVL VL'a-YHYH 'yVD MBVL LShChTh H'aUrTSh. | And I have established My covenant with you, and all flesh is not any more cut off by waters of a deluge, and there is not any more a deluge to destroy the earth.` | statuam pactum meum vobiscum et nequaquam ultra interficietur omnis caro aquis diluvii neque erit deinceps diluvium dissipans terram | |||||

ויאמר אלהים זאת אות־הברית אשר־אני נתן ביני וביניכם ובין כל־ נפש חיה אשר אתכם לדרת עולם׃ |
VY'aMUr 'aLHYM Z'aTh 'aVTh-HBUrYTh 'aShUr-'aNY NThN BYNY VBYNYKM VBYN KL- NPhSh ChYH 'aShUr 'aThKM LDUrTh 'yVLM. | And God saith, `This is a token of the covenant which I am giving between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, to generations age-during; | dixitque Deus hoc signum foederis quod do inter me et vos et ad omnem animam viventem quae est vobiscum in generationes sempiternas | |||||
| 13. | I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be for a sign of a covenant between me and the earth. | I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. |
את־קשתי נתתי בענן והיתה לאות ברית ביני ובין הארץ׃ |
'aTh-QShThY NThThY B'yNN VHYThH L'aVTh BUrYTh BYNY VBYN H'aUrTSh. | My bow I have given in the cloud, and it hath been for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth; | arcum meum ponam in nubibus et erit signum foederis inter me et inter terram | |||||
| 14. | It will happen, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud, | And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: |
והיה בענני ענן על־הארץ ונראתה הקשת בענן׃ |
VHYH B'yNNY 'yNN 'yL-H'aUrTSh VNUr'aThH HQShTh B'yNN. | and it hath come to pass (in My sending a cloud over the earth) that the bow hath been seen in the cloud, | cumque obduxero nubibus caelum apparebit arcus meus in nubibus | |||||
| 15. | and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. | And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. |
וזכרתי את־בריתי אשר ביני וביניכם ובין כל־נפש חיה בכל־בשר ולא־ יהיה עוד המים למבול לשחת כל־בשר׃ |
VZKUrThY 'aTh-BUrYThY 'aShUr BYNY VBYNYKM VBYN KL-NPhSh ChYH BKL-BShUr VL'a- YHYH 'yVD HMYM LMBVL LShChTh KL-BShUr. | and I have remembered My covenant which is between Me and you, and every living creature among all flesh, and the waters become no more a deluge to destroy all flesh; | et recordabor foederis mei vobiscum et cum omni anima vivente quae carnem vegetat et non erunt ultra aquae diluvii ad delendam universam carnem | |||||
| 16. | The rainbow will be in the cloud. I will look at it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." | And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. |
והיתה הקשת בענן וראיתיה לזכר ברית עולם בין אלהים ובין כל־נפש חיה בכל־בשר אשר על־הארץ׃ |
VHYThH HQShTh B'yNN VUr'aYThYH LZKUr BUrYTh 'yVLM BYN 'aLHYM VBYN KL-NPhSh ChYH BKL-BShUr 'aShUr 'yL-H'aUrTSh. | and the bow hath been in the cloud, and I have seen it -- to remember the covenant age-during between God and every living creature among all flesh which is on the earth.` | eritque arcus in nubibus et videbo illum et recordabor foederis sempiterni quod pactum est inter Deum et inter omnem animam viventem universae carnis quae est super terram | |||||
| 17. | God said to Noah, "This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth." | And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. |
ויאמר אלהים אל־נח זאת אות־הברית אשר הקמתי ביני ובין כל־בשר אשר על־הארץ׃ |

| 18. | The sons of Noah who went forth from the ship were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of Canaan. | And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. |
ויהיו בני־נח היצאים מן־התבה שם וחם ויפת וחם הוא אבי כנען׃ |
VYHYV BNY-NCh HYTSh'aYM MN-HThBH ShM VChM VYPhTh VChM HV'a 'aBY KN'yN. | And the sons of Noah who are going out of the ark are Shem, and Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is father of Canaan. | erant igitur filii Noe qui egressi sunt de arca Sem Ham et Iafeth porro Ham ipse est pater Chanaan | |||||
| 19. | These three were the sons of Noah, and from these, the whole earth was populated. | These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. |

| 20. | Noah began to be a farmer, and planted a vineyard. | And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: |

| 21. | He drank of the wine and got drunk. He was uncovered within his tent. | And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. |
וישת מן־היין וישכר ויתגל בתוך אהלה׃ |
VYShTh MN-HYYN VYShKUr VYThGL BThVK 'aHLH. | and drinketh of the wine, and is drunken, and uncovereth himself in the midst of the tent. | bibensque vinum inebriatus est et nudatus in tabernaculo suo | |||||
| 22. | Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. | And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. |
וירא חם אבי כנען את ערות אביו ויגד לשני־אחיו בחוץ׃ |

| 23. | Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were backwards, and they didn't see their father's nakedness. | And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. |

| 25. | He said, "Canaan is cursed. He will be servant of servants to his brothers." | And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. |
ויאמר ארור כנען עבד עבדים יהיה לאחיו׃ |
VY'aMUr 'aUrVUr KN'yN 'yBD 'yBDYM YHYH L'aChYV. | and saith: `Cursed is Canaan, Servant of servants he is to his brethren.` | ait maledictus Chanaan servus servorum erit fratribus suis | |||||
| 26. | He said, "Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant. | And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. |
ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי שם ויהי כנען עבד למו׃ |
VY'aMUr BUrVK YHVH 'aLHY ShM VYHY KN'yN 'yBD LMV. | And he saith: `Blessed of Jehovah my God is Shem, And Canaan is servant to him. | dixitque benedictus Dominus Deus Sem sit Chanaan servus eius | |||||
| 27. | May God enlarge Japheth. Let him dwell in the tents of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant." | God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. |
יפת אלהים ליפת וישכן באהלי־שם ויהי כנען עבד למו׃ |
YPhTh 'aLHYM LYPhTh VYShKN B'aHLY-ShM VYHY KN'yN 'yBD LMV. | God doth give beauty to Japheth, And he dwelleth in tents of Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.` | dilatet Deus Iafeth et habitet in tabernaculis Sem sitque Chanaan servus eius | |||||
| 28. | Noah lived three hundred fifty years after the flood. | And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. |
