1.    It happened when Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.     And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;     και εγενετο οτε ετελεσεν ο ιησους τους λογους τουτους μετηρεν απο της γαλιλαιας και ηλθεν εις τα ορια της ιουδαιας περαν του ιορδανου     And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these words, he removed from Galilee, and did come to the borders of Judea, beyond the Jordan,     et factum est cum consummasset Iesus sermones istos migravit a Galilaea et venit in fines Iudaeae trans Iordanen

2.    Great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.     And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.     και ηκολουθησαν αυτω οχλοι πολλοι και εθεραπευσεν αυτους εκει     and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.     et secutae sunt eum turbae multae et curavit eos ibi

3.    Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"     The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?     και προσηλθον αυτω φαρισαιοι πειραζοντες αυτον και λεγοντες ει εξεστιν ανθρωπω απολυσαι την γυναικα αυτου κατα πασαν αιτιαν     And the Pharisees came near to him, tempting him, and saying to him, `Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?`     et accesserunt ad eum Pharisaei temptantes eum et dicentes si licet homini dimittere uxorem suam quacumque ex causa

4.    He answered, "Haven't you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,{Genesis 1:27}     And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,     ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ουκ ανεγνωτε οτι ο κτισασ απ αρχης αρσεν και θηλυ εποιησεν αυτους     And he answering said to them, `Did ye not read, that He who made them, from the beginning a male and a female made them,     qui respondens ait eis non legistis quia qui fecit ab initio masculum et feminam fecit eos

5.    and said, 'For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?'{Genesis 2:24}     And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?     και ειπεν ενεκα τουτου καταλειψει ανθρωπος τον πατερα και την μητερα και κολληθησεται τη γυναικι αυτου και εσονται οι δυο εις σαρκα μιαν     and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall be -- the two -- for one flesh?     et dixit propter hoc dimittet homo patrem et matrem et adherebit uxori suae et erunt duo in carne una

6.    So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart."     Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.     ωστε ουκετι εισιν δυο αλλα σαρξ μια ο ουν ο θεος συνεζευξεν ανθρωπος μη χωριζετω     so that they are no more two, but one flesh; what therefore God did join together, let no man put asunder.`     itaque iam non sunt duo sed una caro quod ergo Deus coniunxit homo non separet

7.    They asked him, "Why then did Moses command us to give her a bill of divorce, and divorce her?"     They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?     λεγουσιν αυτω τι ουν μωυσησ ενετειλατο δουναι βιβλιον αποστασιου και απολυσαι [αυτην]     They say to him, `Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce, and to put her away?`     dicunt illi quid ergo Moses mandavit dari libellum repudii et dimittere

8.    He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.     He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.     λεγει αυτοις οτι μωυσησ προς την σκληροκαρδιαν υμων επετρεψεν υμιν απολυσαι τας γυναικας υμων απ αρχης δε ου γεγονεν ουτως     He saith to them -- `Moses for your stiffness of heart did suffer you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it hath not been so.     ait illis quoniam Moses ad duritiam cordis vestri permisit vobis dimittere uxores vestras ab initio autem non sic fuit

9.    I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."     And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.     λεγω δε υμιν οτι ος αν απολυση την γυναικα αυτου μη επι πορνεια και γαμηση αλλην μοιχαται       `And I say to you, that, whoever may put away his wife, if not for whoredom, and may marry another, doth commit adultery; and he who did marry her that hath been put away, doth commit adultery.`     dico autem vobis quia quicumque dimiserit uxorem suam nisi ob fornicationem et aliam duxerit moechatur et qui dimissam duxerit moechatur

10.    His disciples said to him, "If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry."     His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.     λεγουσιν αυτω οι μαθηται [αυτου] ει ουτως εστιν η αιτια του ανθρωπου μετα της γυναικος ου συμφερει γαμησαι     His disciples say to him, `If the case of the man with the woman is so, it is not good to marry.`     dicunt ei discipuli eius si ita est causa homini cum uxore non expedit nubere

11.    But he said to them, "Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given.     But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.     ο δε ειπεν αυτοις ου παντες χωρουσιν τον λογον [τουτον] αλλ οις δεδοται     And he said to them, `All do not receive this word, but those to whom it hath been given;     qui dixit non omnes capiunt verbum istud sed quibus datum est

12.    For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it."     For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.     εισιν γαρ ευνουχοι οιτινες εκ κοιλιας μητρος εγεννηθησαν ουτως και εισιν ευνουχοι οιτινες ευνουχισθησαν υπο των ανθρωπων και εισιν ευνουχοι οιτινες ευνουχισαν εαυτους δια την βασιλειαν των ουρανων ο δυναμενος χωρειν χωρειτω     for there are eunuchs who from the mother`s womb were so born; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who kept themselves eunuchs because of the reign of the heavens: he who is able to receive it -- let him receive.`     sunt enim eunuchi qui de matris utero sic nati sunt et sunt eunuchi qui facti sunt ab hominibus et sunt eunuchi qui se ipsos castraverunt propter regnum caelorum qui potest capere capiat

13.    Then little children were brought to him, that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.     Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.     τοτε προσηνεχθησαν αυτω παιδια ινα τας χειρας επιθη αυτοις και προσευξηται οι δε μαθηται επετιμησαν αυτοις     Then were brought near to him children that he might put hands on them and pray, and the disciples rebuked them.     tunc oblati sunt ei parvuli ut manus eis inponeret et oraret discipuli autem increpabant eis

14.    But Jesus said, "Allow the little children, and don't forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these."     But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.     ο δε ιησους ειπεν αφετε τα παιδια και μη κωλυετε αυτα ελθειν προς με των γαρ τοιουτων εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων     But Jesus said, `Suffer the children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the reign of the heavens;`     Iesus vero ait eis sinite parvulos et nolite eos prohibere ad me venire talium est enim regnum caelorum

15.    He laid his hands on them, and departed from there.     And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.     και επιθεις τας χειρας αυτοισ επορευθη εκειθεν     and having laid on them his hands, he departed thence.     et cum inposuisset eis manus abiit inde

16.    Behold, one came to him and said, "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"     And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?     και ιδου εις προσελθων αυτω ειπεν διδασκαλε τι αγαθον ποιησω ινα σχω ζωην αιωνιον     And lo, one having come near, said to him, `Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have life age-during?`     et ecce unus accedens ait illi magister bone quid boni faciam ut habeam vitam aeternam

17.    He said to him, "Why do you call me good?{So MT and TR. NU reads "Why do you ask me about what is good?"} No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."     And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.     ο δε ειπεν αυτω τι με ερωτασ περι του αγαθου    εις εστιν ο αγαθοσ ει δε θελεις εις την ζωην εισελθειν τηρησον τας εντολας     And he said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one is good except One -- God; but if thou dost will to enter into the life, keep the commands.`     qui dixit ei quid me interrogas de bono unus est bonus Deus si autem vis ad vitam ingredi serva mandata

18.    He said to him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, "'You shall not murder.' 'You shall not commit adultery.' 'You shall not steal.' 'You shall not offer false testimony.'     He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,     λεγει αυτω ποιας ο δε ιησους ειπεν το ου φονευσεις ου μοιχευσεις ου κλεψεις ου ψευδομαρτυρησεις     He saith to him, `What kind?` And Jesus said, `Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness,     dicit illi quae Iesus autem dixit non homicidium facies non adulterabis non facies furtum non falsum testimonium dices

19.    'Honor your father and mother.'{Exodus 20:12-16; Deuteronomy 5:16-20} And, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"{Leviticus 19:18}     Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.     τιμα τον πατερα και την μητερα και αγαπησεις τον πλησιον σου ως σεαυτον     honour thy father and mother, and, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.`     honora patrem et matrem et diliges proximum tuum sicut te ipsum

20.    The young man said to him, "All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?"     The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?     λεγει αυτω ο νεανισκος παντα ταυτα εφυλαξα   τι ετι υστερω     The young man saith to him, `All these did I keep from my youth; what yet do I lack?`     dicit illi adulescens omnia haec custodivi quid adhuc mihi deest

21.    Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."     Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.     εφη αυτω ο ιησους ει θελεις τελειος ειναι υπαγε πωλησον σου τα υπαρχοντα και δος [τοισ] πτωχοις και εξεις θησαυρον εν ουρανοισ και δευρο ακολουθει μοι     Jesus said to him, `If thou dost will to be perfect, go away, sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me.`     ait illi Iesus si vis perfectus esse vade vende quae habes et da pauperibus et habebis thesaurum in caelo et veni sequere me

22.    But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.     But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.     ακουσας δε ο νεανισκος τον λογον απηλθεν λυπουμενος ην γαρ εχων κτηματα πολλα     And the young man, having heard the word, went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions;     cum audisset autem adulescens verbum abiit tristis erat enim habens multas possessiones

23.    Jesus said to his disciples, "Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.     Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.     ο δε ιησους ειπεν τοις μαθηταις αυτου αμην λεγω υμιν οτι πλουσιος δυσκολωσ εισελευσεται εις την βασιλειαν των ουρανων     and Jesus said to his disciples, `Verily I say to you, that hardly shall a rich man enter into the reign of the heavens;     Iesus autem dixit discipulis suis amen dico vobis quia dives difficile intrabit in regnum caelorum

24.    Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."     And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.     παλιν δε λεγω υμιν ευκοπωτερον εστιν καμηλον δια τρυπηματος ραφιδος διελθειν η πλουσιον εισελθειν εις την βασιλειαν του θεου     and again I say to you, it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to go, than for a rich man to enter into the reign of God.`     et iterum dico vobis facilius est camelum per foramen acus transire quam divitem intrare in regnum caelorum

25.    When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"     When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?     ακουσαντες δε οι μαθηται εξεπλησσοντο σφοδρα λεγοντες τις αρα δυναται σωθηναι     And his disciples having heard, were amazed exceedingly, saying, `Who, then, is able to be saved?`     auditis autem his discipuli mirabantur valde dicentes quis ergo poterit salvus esse

26.    Looking at them, Jesus said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."     But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.     εμβλεψας δε ο ιησους ειπεν αυτοις παρα ανθρωποις τουτο αδυνατον εστιν παρα δε θεω παντα δυνατα     And Jesus having earnestly beheld, said to them, `With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.`     aspiciens autem Iesus dixit illis apud homines hoc inpossibile est apud Deum autem omnia possibilia sunt

27.    Then Peter answered, "Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?"     Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?     τοτε αποκριθεις ο πετρος ειπεν αυτω ιδου ημεις αφηκαμεν παντα και ηκολουθησαμεν σοι τι αρα εσται ημιν     Then Peter answering said to him, `Lo, we did leave all, and follow thee, what then shall we have?`     tunc respondens Petrus dixit ei ecce nos reliquimus omnia et secuti sumus te quid ergo erit nobis

28.    Jesus said to them, "Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.     And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.     ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτοις αμην λεγω υμιν οτι υμεις οι ακολουθησαντες μοι εν τη παλιγγενεσια οταν καθιση ο υιος του ανθρωπου επι θρονου δοξης αυτου καθησεσθε και υμεις επι δωδεκα θρονους κρινοντες τας δωδεκα φυλας του ισραηλ     And Jesus said to them, `Verily I say to you, that ye who did follow me, in the regeneration, when the Son of Man may sit upon a throne of his glory, shall sit -- ye also -- upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel;     Iesus autem dixit illis amen dico vobis quod vos qui secuti estis me in regeneratione cum sederit Filius hominis in sede maiestatis suae sedebitis et vos super sedes duodecim iudicantes duodecim tribus Israhel

29.    Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.     And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.     και πας οστισ αφηκεν οικιας η αδελφους η αδελφας η πατερα η μητερα η  τεκνα η αγρους ενεκεν του ονοματος μου εκατονταπλασιονα λημψεται και ζωην αιωνιον κληρονομησει     and every one who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my name`s sake, an hundredfold shall receive, and life age-during shall inherit;     et omnis qui reliquit domum vel fratres aut sorores aut patrem aut matrem aut uxorem aut filios aut agros propter nomen meum centuplum accipiet et vitam aeternam possidebit

30.    But many will be last who are first; and first who are last.     But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.     πολλοι δε εσονται πρωτοι εσχατοι και εσχατοι πρωτοι     and many first shall be last, and last first.     multi autem erunt primi novissimi et novissimi primi
