1.    Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.     In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.     οψε δε σαββατων τη επιφωσκουση εις μιαν σαββατων ηλθεν μαριαμ η μαγδαληνη και η αλλη μαρια θεωρησαι τον ταφον     And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,     vespere autem sabbati quae lucescit in primam sabbati venit Maria Magdalene et altera Maria videre sepulchrum
 
2.    Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.     And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.     και ιδου σεισμος εγενετο μεγας αγγελος γαρ κυριου καταβας εξ ουρανου και προσελθων απεκυλισεν τον λιθον  και εκαθητο επανω αυτου     and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,     et ecce terraemotus factus est magnus angelus enim Domini descendit de caelo et accedens revolvit lapidem et sedebat super eum
 
3.    His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.     His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:     ην δε η ειδεα αυτου ως αστραπη και το ενδυμα αυτου λευκον ωσ χιων     and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,     erat autem aspectus eius sicut fulgur et vestimentum eius sicut nix
 
4.    For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.     And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.     απο δε του φοβου αυτου εσεισθησαν οι τηρουντες και εγενηθησαν ωσ νεκροι     and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.     prae timore autem eius exterriti sunt custodes et facti sunt velut mortui
 
5.    The angel answered the women, "Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.     And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.     αποκριθεις δε ο αγγελος ειπεν ταις γυναιξιν μη φοβεισθε υμεις οιδα γαρ οτι ιησουν τον εσταυρωμενον ζητειτε     And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;     respondens autem angelus dixit mulieribus nolite timere vos scio enim quod Iesum qui crucifixus est quaeritis
 
6.    He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.     He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.     ουκ εστιν ωδε ηγερθη γαρ καθως ειπεν δευτε ιδετε τον τοπον οπου εκειτο     he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;     non est hic surrexit enim sicut dixit venite videte locum ubi positus erat Dominus
 
7.    Go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."     And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.     και ταχυ πορευθεισαι ειπατε τοις μαθηταις αυτου οτι ηγερθη απο των νεκρων και ιδου προαγει υμας εις την γαλιλαιαν εκει αυτον οψεσθε ιδου ειπον υμιν     and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.`     et cito euntes dicite discipulis eius quia surrexit et ecce praecedit vos in Galilaeam ibi eum videbitis ecce praedixi vobis
 
8.    They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.     And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.     και απελθουσαι ταχυ απο του μνημειου μετα φοβου και χαρας μεγαλης εδραμον απαγγειλαι τοις μαθηταις αυτου     And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;     et exierunt cito de monumento cum timore et magno gaudio currentes nuntiare discipulis eius
 
9.    As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.     And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.     και ιδου ιησους υπηντησεν αυταις λεγων χαιρετε αι δε προσελθουσαι εκρατησαν αυτου τους ποδας και προσεκυνησαν αυτω     and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!` and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.     et ecce Iesus occurrit illis dicens havete illae autem accesserunt et tenuerunt pedes eius et adoraverunt eum
 
10.    Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Go tell my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."} that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me."     Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.     τοτε λεγει αυταις ο ιησους μη φοβεισθε υπαγετε απαγγειλατε τοις αδελφοις μου ινα απελθωσιν εις την γαλιλαιαν  κακει με οψονται     Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.`     tunc ait illis Iesus nolite timere ite nuntiate fratribus meis ut eant in Galilaeam ibi me videbunt
 
11.    Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.     Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.     πορευομενων δε αυτων ιδου τινες της κουστωδιας ελθοντες εις την πολιν απηγγειλαν τοις αρχιερευσιν απαντα τα γενομενα     And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,     quae cum abissent ecce quidam de custodibus venerunt in civitatem et nuntiaverunt principibus sacerdotum omnia quae facta fuerant
 
12.    When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,     And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,     και συναχθεντες μετα των πρεσβυτερων συμβουλιον τε λαβοντες αργυρια ικανα εδωκαν τοις στρατιωταις     and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,     et congregati cum senioribus consilio accepto pecuniam copiosam dederunt militibus
 
13.    saying, "Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.     Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.     λεγοντες ειπατε οτι οι μαθηται αυτου νυκτος ελθοντες εκλεψαν αυτον ημων κοιμωμενων     saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him -- we being asleep;     dicentes dicite quia discipuli eius nocte venerunt et furati sunt eum nobis dormientibus
 
14.    If this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry."     And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.     και εαν ακουσθη τουτο επι του ηγεμονος ημεις πεισομεν [αυτον] και υμας αμεριμνους ποιησομεν     and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.`     et si hoc auditum fuerit a praeside nos suadebimus ei et securos vos faciemus
 
15.    So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continues until this day.     So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.     οι δε λαβοντες τα αργυρια εποιησαν ως εδιδαχθησαν και διεφημισθη ο λογος ουτος παρα ιουδαιοις μεχρι της σημερον [ημερασ]     And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.     at illi accepta pecunia fecerunt sicut erant docti et divulgatum est verbum istud apud Iudaeos usque in hodiernum diem
 
16.    But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.     Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.     οι δε ενδεκα μαθηται επορευθησαν εις την γαλιλαιαν εις το ορος ου εταξατο αυτοις ο ιησους     And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,     undecim autem discipuli abierunt in Galilaeam in montem ubi constituerat illis Iesus
 
17.    When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.     And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.     και ιδοντες αυτον προσεκυνησαν οι δε εδιστασαν     and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.     et videntes eum adoraverunt quidam autem dubitaverunt
 
18.    Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.     And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.     και προσελθων ο ιησους ελαλησεν αυτοις λεγων εδοθη μοι πασα εξουσια εν ουρανω και επι [τησ] γης     And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;     et accedens Iesus locutus est eis dicens data est mihi omnis potestas in caelo et in terra
 
19.    Go,{TR and NU add "therefore"} and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,     Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:     πορευθεντες ουν μαθητευσατε παντα τα εθνη βαπτιζοντες αυτους εις το ονομα του πατρος και του υιου και του αγιου πνευματος     having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them -- to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,     euntes ergo docete omnes gentes baptizantes eos in nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
 
20.    teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.     Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.     διδασκοντες αυτους τηρειν παντα οσα ενετειλαμην υμιν και ιδου εγω μεθ υμων ειμι πασας τας ημερας εως της συντελειας του αιωνος     teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days -- till the full end of the age.`     King James Version Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world.
