1.    Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.     Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.     τοτε ο ιησους ανηχθη εις την ερημον υπο του πνευματος πειρασθηναι υπο του διαβολου     Then Jesus was led up to the wilderness by the Spirit, to be tempted by the Devil,     tunc Iesus ductus est in desertum ab Spiritu ut temptaretur a diabolo
 
2.    When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.     And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.     και νηστευσας ημερας τεσσερακοντα και νυκτας τεσσερακοντα υστερον επεινασεν     and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he did hunger.     et cum ieiunasset quadraginta diebus et quadraginta noctibus postea esuriit
 
3.    The tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."     And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.     και προσελθων ο πειραζων ειπεν αυτω ει υιος ει του θεου ειπε ινα οι λιθοι ουτοι αρτοι γενωνται     And the Tempter having come to him said, `If Son thou art of God -- speak that these stones may become loaves.`     et accedens temptator dixit ei si Filius Dei es dic ut lapides isti panes fiant
 
4.    But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"{Deuteronomy 8:3}     But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.     ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν γεγραπται ουκ επ αρτω μονω ζησεται ο ανθρωπος αλλ επι παντι ρηματι εκπορευομενω δια στοματος θεου     But he answering said, `It hath been written, Not upon bread alone doth man live, but upon every word coming forth from the mouth of God.`     qui respondens dixit scriptum est non in pane solo vivet homo sed in omni verbo quod procedit de ore Dei
 
5.    Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,     Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,     τοτε παραλαμβανει αυτον ο διαβολος εις την αγιαν πολιν και εστησεν αυτον επι το πτερυγιον του ιερου     Then doth the Devil take him to the holy city, and doth set him on the pinnacle of the temple,     tunc adsumit eum diabolus in sanctam civitatem et statuit eum supra pinnaculum templi
 
6.    and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don't dash your foot against a stone.'"{Psalm 91:11-12}     And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.     και λεγει αυτω ει υιος ει του θεου βαλε σεαυτον κατω γεγραπται γαρ οτι τοις αγγελοις αυτου εντελειται περι σου και επι χειρων αρουσιν σε μηποτε προσκοψης προς λιθον τον ποδα σου     and saith to him, `If Son thou art of God -- cast thyself down, for it hath been written, that, His messengers He shall charge concerning thee, and on hands they shall bear thee up, that thou mayest not dash on a stone thy foot.`     et dixit ei si Filius Dei es mitte te deorsum scriptum est enim quia angelis suis mandabit de te et in manibus tollent te ne forte offendas ad lapidem pedem tuum
 
7.    Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not test the Lord, your God.'"{Deuteronomy 6:16}     Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.     εφη αυτω ο ιησους παλιν γεγραπται ουκ εκπειρασεις κυριον τον θεον σου     Jesus said to him again, `It hath been written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.`     ait illi Iesus rursum scriptum est non temptabis Dominum Deum tuum
 
8.    Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.     Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;     παλιν παραλαμβανει αυτον ο διαβολος εις ορος υψηλον λιαν και δεικνυσιν αυτω πασας τας βασιλειας του κοσμου και την δοξαν αυτων     Again doth the Devil take him to a very high mount, and doth shew to him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them,     iterum adsumit eum diabolus in montem excelsum valde et ostendit ei omnia regna mundi et gloriam eorum
 
9.    He said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."     And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.     και ειπεν αυτω ταυτα σοι παντα δωσω εαν πεσων προσκυνησης μοι     and saith to him, `All these to thee I will give, if falling down thou mayest bow to me.`     et dixit illi haec tibi omnia dabo si cadens adoraveris me
 
10.    Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind me,{TR and NU read "Go away" instead of "Get behind me"} Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.'"{Deuteronomy 6:13}     Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.     τοτε λεγει αυτω ο ιησους υπαγε  σατανα γεγραπται γαρ κυριον τον θεον σου προσκυνησεις και αυτω μονω λατρευσεις     Then saith Jesus to him, `Go -- Adversary, for it hath been written, The Lord thy God thou shalt bow to, and Him only thou shalt serve.`     tunc dicit ei Iesus vade Satanas scriptum est Dominum Deum tuum adorabis et illi soli servies
 
11.    Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.     Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.     τοτε αφιησιν αυτον ο διαβολος και ιδου αγγελοι προσηλθον και διηκονουν αυτω     Then doth the Devil leave him, and lo, messengers came and were ministering to him.     tunc reliquit eum diabolus et ecce angeli accesserunt et ministrabant ei
 
12.    Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.     Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;     ακουσας δε  οτι ιωαννης παρεδοθη ανεχωρησεν εις την γαλιλαιαν     And Jesus having heard that John was delivered up, did withdraw to Galilee,     cum autem audisset quod Iohannes traditus esset secessit in Galilaeam
 
13.    Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,     And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:     και καταλιπων την ναζαρα  ελθων κατωκησεν εις καφαρναουμ την παραθαλασσιαν εν οριοις ζαβουλων και νεφθαλιμ     and having left Nazareth, having come, he dwelt at Capernaum that is by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtalim,     et relicta civitate Nazareth venit et habitavit in Capharnaum maritimam in finibus Zabulon et Nepthalim
 
14.    that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,     That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,     ινα πληρωθη το ρηθεν δια ησαιου του προφητου λεγοντος     that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,     ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per Esaiam prophetam
 
15.    "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,     The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;     γη ζαβουλων και γη νεφθαλιμ οδον θαλασσης περαν του ιορδανου γαλιλαια των εθνων     `Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations! --     terra Zabulon et terra Nepthalim via maris trans Iordanen Galilaeae gentium
 
16.    the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned."{Isaiah 9:1-2}     The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.     ο λαος ο καθημενος εν σκοτει  φως ειδεν μεγα και τοις καθημενοις εν χωρα και σκια θανατου φως ανετειλεν αυτοις     the people that is sitting in darkness saw a great light, and to those sitting in a region and shadow of death -- light arose to them.`     populus qui sedebat in tenebris lucem vidit magnam et sedentibus in regione et umbra mortis lux orta est eis
 
17.    From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."     From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.     απο τοτε ηρξατο ο ιησους κηρυσσειν και λεγειν μετανοειτε ηγγικεν γαρ η βασιλεια των ουρανων     From that time began Jesus to proclaim and to say, `Reform ye, for come nigh hath the reign of the heavens.`     exinde coepit Iesus praedicare et dicere paenitentiam agite adpropinquavit enim regnum caelorum
 
18.    Walking by the sea of Galilee, he{TR reads "Jesus" instead of "he"} saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.     And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.     περιπατων δε  παρα την θαλασσαν της γαλιλαιας ειδεν δυο αδελφους σιμωνα τον λεγομενον πετρον και ανδρεαν τον αδελφον αυτου βαλλοντας αμφιβληστρον εις την θαλασσαν ησαν γαρ αλιεις     And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon named Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a drag into the sea -- for they were fishers --     ambulans autem iuxta mare Galilaeae vidit duos fratres Simonem qui vocatur Petrus et Andream fratrem eius mittentes rete in mare erant enim piscatores
 
19.    He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men."     And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.     και λεγει αυτοις δευτε οπισω μου και ποιησω υμας αλιεις ανθρωπων     and he saith to them, `Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men,`     et ait illis venite post me et faciam vos fieri piscatores hominum
 
20.    They immediately left their nets and followed him.     And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.     οι δε ευθεως αφεντες τα δικτυα ηκολουθησαν αυτω     and they, immediately, having left the nets, did follow him.     at illi continuo relictis retibus secuti sunt eum
 
21.    Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.     And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.     και προβας εκειθεν ειδεν αλλους δυο αδελφους ιακωβον τον του ζεβεδαιου και ιωαννην τον αδελφον αυτου εν τω πλοιω μετα ζεβεδαιου του πατρος αυτων καταρτιζοντας τα δικτυα αυτων και εκαλεσεν αυτους     And having advanced thence, he saw other two brothers, James of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, refitting their nets, and he called them,     et procedens inde vidit alios duos fratres Iacobum Zebedaei et Iohannem fratrem eius in navi cum Zebedaeo patre eorum reficientes retia sua et vocavit eos
 
22.    They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.     And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.     οι δε ευθεως αφεντες το πλοιον και τον πατερα αυτων ηκολουθησαν αυτω     and they, immediately, having left the boat and their father, did follow him.     illi autem statim relictis retibus et patre secuti sunt eum
 
23.    Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.     And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.     και περιηγεν εν ολη τη γαλιλαια   διδασκων εν ταις συναγωγαις αυτων και κηρυσσων το ευαγγελιον της βασιλειας και θεραπευων πασαν νοσον και πασαν μαλακιαν εν τω λαω     And Jesus was going about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the reign, and healing every disease, and every malady among the people,     et circumibat Iesus totam Galilaeam docens in synagogis eorum et praedicans evangelium regni et sanans omnem languorem et omnem infirmitatem in populo
 
24.    The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.     And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.     και απηλθεν η ακοη αυτου εις ολην την συριαν και προσηνεγκαν αυτω παντας τους κακως εχοντας ποικιλαις νοσοις και βασανοις συνεχομενους [και] δαιμονιζομενους και σεληνιαζομενους και παραλυτικους και εθεραπευσεν αυτους     and his fame went forth to all Syria, and they brought to him all having ailments, pressed with manifold sicknesses and pains, and demoniacs, and lunatics, and paralytics, and he healed them.     et abiit opinio eius in totam Syriam et obtulerunt ei omnes male habentes variis languoribus et tormentis conprehensos et qui daemonia habebant et lunaticos et paralyticos et curavit eos
 
25.    Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond the Jordan followed him.     And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.     και ηκολουθησαν αυτω οχλοι πολλοι απο της γαλιλαιας και δεκαπολεως και ιεροσολυμων και ιουδαιας και περαν του ιορδανου     And there followed him many multitudes from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond the Jordan.     et secutae sunt eum turbae multae de Galilaea et Decapoli et Hierosolymis et Iudaea et de trans Iordanen
