1.    When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.     When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.     καταβαντοσ δε αυτου απο του ορους ηκολουθησαν αυτω οχλοι πολλοι     And when he came down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him,     cum autem descendisset de monte secutae sunt eum turbae multae
 
2.    Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."     And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.     και ιδου λεπρος προσελθων προσεκυνει αυτω λεγων κυριε εαν θελης δυνασαι με καθαρισαι     and lo, a leper having come, was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me;`     et ecce leprosus veniens adorabat eum dicens Domine si vis potes me mundare
 
3.    Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.     And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.     και εκτεινας την χειρα ηψατο αυτου  λεγων θελω καθαρισθητι και ευθεως εκαθαρισθη αυτου η λεπρα     and having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying, `I will, be thou cleansed,` and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.     et extendens manum tetigit eum Iesus dicens volo mundare et confestim mundata est lepra eius
 
4.    Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."     And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.     και λεγει αυτω ο ιησους ορα μηδενι ειπης αλλα υπαγε σεαυτον δειξον τω ιερει και προσενεγκον το δωρον ο προσεταξεν μωυσησ εις μαρτυριον αυτοις     And Jesus saith to him, `See, thou mayest tell no one, but go, thyself shew to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.`     et ait illi Iesus vide nemini dixeris sed vade ostende te sacerdoti et offer munus quod praecepit Moses in testimonium illis
 
5.    When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,     And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,     εισελθοντοσ δε αυτου  εις καφαρναουμ προσηλθεν αυτω εκατονταρχος παρακαλων αυτον     And Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him,     cum autem introisset Capharnaum accessit ad eum centurio rogans eum
 
6.    and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented."     And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.     και λεγων κυριε ο παις μου βεβληται εν τη οικια παραλυτικος δεινως βασανιζομενος     and saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,`     et dicens Domine puer meus iacet in domo paralyticus et male torquetur
 
7.    Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."     And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.     και λεγει αυτω  εγω ελθων θεραπευσω αυτον     and Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.`     et ait illi Iesus ego veniam et curabo eum
 
8.    The centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.     The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.     και αποκριθεις ο εκατονταρχος εφη κυριε ουκ ειμι ικανος ινα μου υπο την στεγην εισελθης αλλα μονον ειπε λογω και ιαθησεται ο παις μου     And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;     et respondens centurio ait Domine non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur puer meus
 
9.    For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and tell another, 'Come,' and he comes; and tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."     For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.     και γαρ εγω ανθρωπος ειμι υπο εξουσιαν εχων υπ εμαυτον στρατιωτας και λεγω τουτω πορευθητι και πορευεται και αλλω ερχου και ερχεται και τω δουλω μου ποιησον τουτο και ποιει     for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth it.`     nam et ego homo sum sub potestate habens sub me milites et dico huic vade et vadit et alio veni et venit et servo meo fac hoc et facit
 
10.    When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, "Most certainly I tell you, I haven't found so great a faith, not even in Israel.     When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.     ακουσας δε ο ιησους εθαυμασεν και ειπεν τοις ακολουθουσιν αμην λεγω υμιν παρ ουδενι τοσαυτην πιστιν εν τω ισραηλ  ευρον     And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;     audiens autem Iesus miratus est et sequentibus se dixit amen dico vobis non inveni tantam fidem in Israhel
 
11.    I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,     And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.     λεγω δε υμιν οτι πολλοι απο ανατολων και δυσμων ηξουσιν και ανακλιθησονται μετα αβρααμ και ισαακ και ιακωβ εν τη βασιλεια των ουρανων     and I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens,     dico autem vobis quod multi ab oriente et occidente venient et recumbent cum Abraham et Isaac et Iacob in regno caelorum
 
12.    but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."     But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.     οι δε υιοι της βασιλειας εκβληθησονται εις το σκοτος το εξωτερον εκει εσται ο κλαυθμος και ο βρυγμος των οδοντων     but the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness -- there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.`     filii autem regni eicientur in tenebras exteriores ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium
 
13.    Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." His servant was healed in that hour.     And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.     και ειπεν ο ιησους τω εκατονταρχη υπαγε ως επιστευσας γενηθητω σοι και ιαθη ο παις [αυτου] εν τη ωρα εκεινη     And Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;` and his young man was healed in that hour.     et dixit Iesus centurioni vade et sicut credidisti fiat tibi et sanatus est puer in hora illa
 
14.    When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever.     And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.     και ελθων ο ιησους εις την οικιαν πετρου ειδεν την πενθεραν αυτου βεβλημενην και πυρεσσουσαν     And Jesus having come into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law laid, and fevered,     et cum venisset Iesus in domum Petri vidit socrum eius iacentem et febricitantem
 
15.    He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.{TR reads "them" instead of "him"}     And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.     και ηψατο της χειρος αυτης και αφηκεν αυτην ο πυρετος και ηγερθη και διηκονει αυτω     and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to them.     et tetigit manum eius et dimisit eam febris et surrexit et ministrabat eis
 
16.    When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;     When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:     οψιας δε γενομενης προσηνεγκαν αυτω δαιμονιζομενους πολλους και εξεβαλεν τα πνευματα λογω και παντας τους κακως εχοντας εθεραπευσεν     And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill,     vespere autem facto obtulerunt ei multos daemonia habentes et eiciebat spiritus verbo et omnes male habentes curavit
 
17.    that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."{Isaiah 53:4}     That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.     οπως πληρωθη το ρηθεν δια ησαιου του προφητου λεγοντος αυτος τας ασθενειας ημων ελαβεν και τας νοσους εβαστασεν     that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.`     ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per Esaiam prophetam dicentem ipse infirmitates nostras accepit et aegrotationes portavit
 
18.    Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.     Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.     ιδων δε ο ιησους οχλον  περι αυτον εκελευσεν απελθειν εις το περαν     And Jesus having seen great multitudes about him, did command to depart to the other side;     videns autem Iesus turbas multas circum se iussit ire trans fretum
 
19.    A scribe came, and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."     And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.     και προσελθων εις γραμματευς ειπεν αυτω διδασκαλε ακολουθησω σοι οπου εαν απερχη     and a certain scribe having come, said to him, `Teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou mayest go;`     et accedens unus scriba ait illi magister sequar te quocumque ieris
 
20.    Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."     And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.     και λεγει αυτω ο ιησους αι αλωπεκες φωλεους εχουσιν και τα πετεινα του ουρανου κατασκηνωσεις ο δε υιος του ανθρωπου ουκ εχει που την κεφαλην κλινη     and Jesus saith to him, `The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven places of rest, but the Son of Man hath not where he may lay the head.`     et dicit ei Iesus vulpes foveas habent et volucres caeli tabernacula Filius autem hominis non habet ubi caput reclinet
 
21.    Another of his disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."     And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.     ετερος δε των μαθητων [αυτου] ειπεν αυτω κυριε επιτρεψον μοι πρωτον απελθειν και θαψαι τον πατερα μου     And another of his disciples said to him, `Sir, permit me first to depart and to bury my father;`     alius autem de discipulis eius ait illi Domine permitte me primum ire et sepelire patrem meum
 
22.    But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."     But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.     ο δε ιησους λεγει αυτω ακολουθει μοι και αφες τους νεκρους θαψαι τους εαυτων νεκρους     and Jesus said to him, `Follow me, and suffer the dead to bury their own dead.`     Iesus autem ait illi sequere me et dimitte mortuos sepelire mortuos suos
 
23.    When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.     And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.     και εμβαντι αυτω εις το πλοιον ηκολουθησαν αυτω οι μαθηται αυτου     And when he entered into the boat his disciples did follow him,     et ascendente eo in navicula secuti sunt eum discipuli eius
 
24.    Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.     And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.     και ιδου σεισμος μεγας εγενετο εν τη θαλασση ωστε το πλοιον καλυπτεσθαι υπο των κυματων αυτος δε εκαθευδεν     and lo, a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves, but he was sleeping,     et ecce motus magnus factus est in mari ita ut navicula operiretur fluctibus ipse vero dormiebat
 
25.    They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord! We are dying!"     And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.     και προσελθοντες  ηγειραν αυτον λεγοντες κυριε σωσον απολλυμεθα     and his disciples having come to him, awoke him, saying, `Sir, save us; we are perishing.`     et accesserunt et suscitaverunt eum dicentes Domine salva nos perimus
 
26.    He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.     And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.     και λεγει αυτοις τι δειλοι εστε ολιγοπιστοι τοτε εγερθεις επετιμησεν τοις ανεμοις και τη θαλασση και εγενετο γαληνη μεγαλη     And he saith to them, `Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?` Then having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm;     et dicit eis quid timidi estis modicae fidei tunc surgens imperavit ventis et mari et facta est tranquillitas magna
 
27.    The men marveled, saying, "What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"     But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!     οι δε ανθρωποι εθαυμασαν λεγοντες ποταπος εστιν ουτος οτι και οι ανεμοι και η θαλασσα αυτω υπακουουσιν     and the men wondered, saying, `What kind -- is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?`     porro homines mirati sunt dicentes qualis est hic quia et venti et mare oboediunt ei
 
28.    When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes,{NU reads "Gadarenes"} two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.     And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.     και ελθοντοσ αυτου εις το περαν εις την χωραν των γαδαρηνων υπηντησαν αυτω δυο δαιμονιζομενοι εκ των μνημειων εξερχομενοι χαλεποι λιαν ωστε μη ισχυειν τινα παρελθειν δια της οδου εκεινης     And he having come to the other side, to the region of the Gergesenes, there met him two demoniacs, coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass over by that way,     et cum venisset trans fretum in regionem Gerasenorum occurrerunt ei duo habentes daemonia de monumentis exeuntes saevi nimis ita ut nemo posset transire per viam illam
 
29.    Behold, they cried out, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"     And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?     και ιδου εκραξαν λεγοντες τι ημιν και σοι υιε του θεου ηλθες ωδε προ καιρου βασανισαι ημας     and lo, they cried out, saying, `What -- to us and to thee, Jesus, Son of God? didst thou come hither, before the time, to afflict us?`     et ecce clamaverunt dicentes quid nobis et tibi Fili Dei venisti huc ante tempus torquere nos
 
30.    Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.     And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.     ην δε μακραν απ αυτων αγελη χοιρων πολλων βοσκομενη     And there was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding,     erat autem non longe ab illis grex porcorum multorum pascens
 
31.    The demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs."     So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.     οι δε δαιμονες παρεκαλουν αυτον λεγοντες ει εκβαλλεις ημας αποστειλον ημασ  εις την αγελην των χοιρων     and the demons were calling on him, saying, `If thou dost cast us forth, permit us to go away to the herd of the swine;`     daemones autem rogabant eum dicentes si eicis nos mitte nos in gregem porcorum
 
32.    He said to them, "Go!" They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.     And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.     και ειπεν αυτοις υπαγετε οι δε εξελθοντες απηλθον εις τουσ χοιρουσ   και ιδου ωρμησεν πασα η αγελη  κατα του κρημνου εις την θαλασσαν και απεθανον εν τοις υδασιν     and he saith to them, `Go.` And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters,     et ait illis ite at illi exeuntes abierunt in porcos et ecce impetu abiit totus grex per praeceps in mare et mortui sunt in aquis
 
33.    Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.     And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.     οι δε βοσκοντες εφυγον και απελθοντες εις την πολιν απηγγειλαν παντα και τα των δαιμονιζομενων     and those feeding did flee, and, having gone to the city, they declared all, and the matter of the demoniacs.     pastores autem fugerunt et venientes in civitatem nuntiaverunt omnia et de his qui daemonia habuerant
 
34.    Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.     And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.     και ιδου πασα η πολις εξηλθεν εις υπαντησιν τω ιησου και ιδοντες αυτον παρεκαλεσαν οπως μεταβη απο των οριων αυτων     And lo, all the city came forth to meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on him that he might depart from their borders.     et ecce tota civitas exiit obviam Iesu et viso eo rogabant ut transiret a finibus eorum
