1.  *     سورة الحاقة بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ الحاقة     swr+ alHaq+ bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? alHaq+     The disaster/catastrophe/reality.     The incontestable (event).     The Sure Reality!
 
2.  *     ماالحاقة     maalHaq+     What is the disaster/catastrophe/reality ?     What an incontestable (event)!     What is the Sure Reality?
 
3.  *     وماادراك ماالحاقة     wmaadrak maalHaq+     And what makes you know what (is) the disaster/catastrophe/reality ?     It is truly incontestable.     And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?
 
4.  *     كذبت ثمود وعاد بالقارعة     kXbt xmwd w`ad balqar`+     Thamud and Aad lied/denied/falsified with the Resurrection/disaster/calamity.     Thamoud and `Aad disbelieved in the Shocker.     The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!
 
5.  *     فاما ثمود فاهلكوا بالطاغية     fama xmwd fahlkwa balTaGy+     So but (for) Thamud, so they were made to die/destroyed with a wind blowing/frosty (and) violent.     As for Thamoud, they were annihilated by the devastating (quake).     But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!
 
6.  *     واما عاد فاهلكوا بريح صرصر عاتية     wama `ad fahlkwa bryH SrSr `aty+     And but (for) Aad, so they were made to die/destroyed by a violent blowing/frosty wind.     As for `Aad, they were annihilated by a persistent, violent storm     And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;
 
7.  *     سخرها عليهم سبع ليال وثمانية ايام حسوما فترى القوم فيها صرعى كانهم اعجاز نخل خاوية     sKrha `lyhm sb` lyal wxmany+ ayam Hswma ftri alqwm fyha Sr`i kanhm a`jaz nKl Kawy+     He manipulated/subjugated it on them seven nights and eight days ominously/severing goodness (uprooting), so you see the nation in it lying flat/mad, as if they are palm tree's fallen/destroyed ends.     He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, violently. You could see the people tossed around like decayed palm trunks.     He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!
 
8.  *     فهل ترى لهم من باقية     fhl tri lhm mn baqy+     So do you see for them from a remainder/remnant?     Can you find any trace of them?     Then seest thou any of them left surviving?
 
9.  *     وجاء فرعون ومن قبله والمؤتفكات بالخاطئة     wja' fr`wn wmn qblh walmWtfkat balKaTY+     And Pharaoh came, and who (is) before him, and the overturned/destroyed cities with the sin.     Pharaoh, others before him, and the sinners (of Sodom) were wicked.     And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.
 
10.  *     فعصوا رسول ربهم فاخذهم اخذة رابية     f`Swa rswl rbhm faKXhm aKX+ raby+     So they disobeyed their Lord's messenger, so He punished them an increased spellbinding (devastating) punishment.     They disobeyed the messenger of their Lord. Consequently, He requited them a devastating requital.     And disobeyed (each) the apostle of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty.
 
11.  *     انا لما طغى الماء حملناكم في الجارية     ana lma TGi alma' Hmlnakm fy aljary+     We (E) when the water became elevated (over flowed)/violent, We carried/lifted you in the ship/flowing.     The flood was devastating, so we carried you on the floating (ark).     We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),
 
12.  *     لنجعلها لكم تذكرة وتعيها اذن واعية     lnj`lha lkm tXkr+ wt`yha aXn wa`y+     To make/put it for you (as) a reminder, and comprehending/perceiving ears accept/understand it.     We rendered it a lesson for you, that any listening ear may understand.     That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.
 
13.  *     فاذا نفخ في الصور نفخة واحدة     faXa nfK fy alSwr nfK+ waHd+     So when (it) was blown in the horn/bugle/instrument, one blow.     When the horn is blown once     Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,
 
14.  *     وحملت الارض والجبال فدكتا دكة واحدة     wHmlt alarD waljbal fdkta dk+ waHd+     And the earth/Planet Earth and the mountains were carried/lifted, so they (B) were leveled/flattened one crunch/destruction.     The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed.     And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-
 
15.  *     فيومئذ وقعت الواقعة     fywmYX wq`t alwaq`+     So that day, the Resurrection/Event landed/happened.     That is the day when the inevitable event will come to pass.     On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.
 
16.  *     وانشقت السماء فهي يومئذ واهية     wan$qt alsma' fhy ywmYX wahy+     And the sky/space split away/cut open, so it is (on) that day cracked/weak.     The heaven will crack, and fall apart.     And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,
 
17.  *     والملك على ارجائها ويحمل عرش ربك فوقهم يومئذ ثمانية     walmlk `li arjaYha wyHml `r$ rbk fwqhm ywmYX xmany+     And the angels (are) on its boundaries/vastness, and that day eight carries/lifts your Lord's throne above them.     The angels will be all around, and Your Lord's dominion will then encompass eight (universes).     And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.
 
18.  *     يومئذ تعرضون لاتخفى منكم خافية     ywmYX t`rDwn latKfi mnkm Kafy+     That day, you are being exhibited/displayed, not a hidden (thing) hides from you.     On that day, you will be exposed, nothing of you can be hidden     That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.
 
19.  *     فاما من اوتي كتابه بيمينه فيقول هاؤم اقرؤوا كتابيه     fama mn awty ktabh bymynh fyqwl haWm aqrWwa ktabyh     So but who was given/brought his book/judgment with his right (hand), so he says: "Take (here take this) read my Book/judgment."     As for the one who receives his record with his right hand, he will say, "Come read my record.     Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record!
 
20.  *     اني ظننت اني ملاق حسابيه     any Znnt any mlaq Hsabyh     That I, I thought/assumed that I am receiving/meeting my account/calculation (punishment).     "I did believe that I was going to be held accountable."     "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!"
 
21.  *     فهو في عيشة راضية     fhw fy `y$+ raDy+     So he is in (an) acceptable/approved life/quality of life.     He has deserved a happy life.     And he will be in a life of Bliss,
 
22.  *     في جنة عالية     fy jn+ `aly+     In an elevated/dignified treed garden/paradise.     In an exalted Paradise     In a Garden on high,
 
23.  *     قطوفها دانية     qTwfha dany+     Its fruit harvests (are) near.     Its fruits are within reach.     The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.
 
24.  *     كلوا واشربوا هنيئا بما اسلفتم في الايام الخالية     klwa wa$rbwa hnyYa bma aslftm fy alayam alKaly+     Eat and drink pleasurable/wholesome/tasty because (of) what you advanced in the days/times, the past/expired.     Eat and drink happily in return for your works in days past.     "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"
 
25.  *     واما من اوتي كتابه بشماله فيقول ياليتني لم اوت كتابيه     wama mn awty ktabh b$malh fyqwl yalytny lm awt ktabyh     And but who was given/brought his Book/judgment with his left (hand), so he says: "I wish I would have not been given my book/judgment."     As for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I never received my record     And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!
 
26.  *     ولم ادر ماحسابيه     wlm adr maHsabyh     And I did not know what my account/calculation (is).     "I wish I never knew my account.     "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!
 
27.  *     ياليتها كانت القاضية     yalytha kant alqaDy+     Oh,. if only it was the end/death.     "I wish my death was eternal     "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!
 
28.  *     مااغنى عني ماليه     maaGni `ny malyh     My property/possession/wealth did not enrich/suffice (help) from (for) me.     "My money cannot help me.     "Of no profit to me has been my wealth!
 
29.  *     هلك عني سلطانيه     hlk `ny slTanyh     My authority/power perished from me.     "All my power is gone."     "My power has perished from me!"...
 
30.  *     خذوه فغلوه     KXwh fGlwh     Take/punish him, so chain/tie him.     Take him and shackle him.     (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him,
 
31.  *     ثم الجحيم صلوه     xm aljHym Slwh     Then (in) the Hell roast/burn him.     Burn him in Hell.     "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire.
 
32.  *     ثم في سلسلة ذرعها سبعون ذراعا فاسلكوه     xm fy slsl+ Xr`ha sb`wn Xra`a faslkwh     Then in a chain its measure (length is) seventy arm/ells/cubit, so enter/pass/thread/(tie) him.     In a chain that is seventy arms long, tie him up.     "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits!
 
33.  *     انه كان لايؤمن بالله العظيم     anh kan layWmn ballh al`Zym     That he truly was not believing with (in) God, the great.     For he did not believe in GOD, Most Great.     "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High.
 
34.  *     ولايحض على طعام المسكين     wlayHD `li T`am almskyn     And nor urges/insights/influences on feeding the poorest of poor/poor oppressed.     Nor did he advocate the feeding of the poor.     "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent!
 
35.  *     فليس له اليوم هاهنا حميم     flys lh alywm hahna Hmym     So here, here (a) concerned (relative/friend) is not for him the day/today.     Consequently, he has no friend here.     "So no friend hath he here this Day.
 
36.  *     ولاطعام الا من غسلين     wlaT`am ala mn Gslyn     And nor food except from ghesleen (could be Hell's occupants' flesh, skin and blood).     Nor any food, except the bitter variety.     "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds,
 
37.  *     لاياكله الا الخاطئون     layaklh ala alKaTYwn     None eat it except the mistaken/erroneous.     Food for the sinners.     "Which none do eat but those in sin."
 
38.  *     فلا اقسم بما تبصرون     fla aqsm bma tbSrwn     So I do not swear/make oath with what you see.     I swear by what you see     So I do call to witness what ye see,
 
39.  *     ومالاتبصرون     wmalatbSrwn     And what you do not see.     And what you do not see.     And what ye see not,
 
40.  *     انه لقول رسول كريم     anh lqwl rswl krym     That it truly is an honoured/noble messenger's word/saying (E).     This is the utterance of an honorable messenger.     That this is verily the word of an honoured apostle;
 
41.  *     وماهو بقول شاعر قليلا ماتؤمنون     wmahw bqwl $a`r qlyla matWmnwn     And it is not with a poet's word/saying, little (is) what you believe.     Not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you believe.     It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe!
 
42.  *     ولابقول كاهن قليلا ماتذكرون     wlabqwl kahn qlyla matXkrwn     And nor with a fortune teller's/altar priests word/saying, little (is) what you mention/remember.     Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed.     Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive.
 
43.  *     تنزيل من رب العالمين     tnzyl mn rb al`almyn     Descent from the creations all together's/(universe's) Lord.     A revelation from the Lord of the universe.     (This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds.
 
44.  *     ولو تقول علينا بعض الاقاويل     wlw tqwl `lyna b`D alaqawyl     And if (the messenger) made false statements on Us (on Our behalf) some (of) the sayings/beliefs.     Had he uttered any other teachings.     And if the apostle were to invent any sayings in Our name,
 
45.  *     لاخذنا منه باليمين     laKXna mnh balymyn     We would have punished/taken from him by the right (hand).     We would have punished him.     We should certainly seize him by his right hand,
 
46.  *     ثم لقطعنا منه الوتين     xm lqT`na mnh alwtyn     Then We would have severed/cut off from him the aorta/heart's main artery.     We would have stopped the revelations to him.     And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:
 
47.  *     فما منكم من احد عنه حاجزين     fma mnkm mn aHd `nh Hajzyn     So (there) is not from anyone from you preventing/hindering from (for) him.     None of you could have helped him.     Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath).
 
48.  *     وانه لتذكرة للمتقين     wanh ltXkr+ llmtqyn     And that it truly is a reminder for the fearing and obeying.     This is a reminder for the righteous.     But verily this is a Message for the Allah.fearing.
 
49.  *     وانا لنعلم ان منكم مكذبين     wana ln`lm an mnkm mkXbyn     And We (E), We know (E) that (E) from you (are) liars/deniers/falsifiers.     We know; some of you are rejectors.     And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it).
 
50.  *     وانه لحسرة على الكافرين     wanh lHsr+ `li alkafryn     And that it truly is grief/sadness (E), on the disbelievers.     It is but sorrow for the disbelievers.     But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers.
 
51.  *     وانه لحق اليقين     wanh lHq alyqyn     And that it truly is true/real (E) the assurance/certainty.     It is the absolute truth.     But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.
 
52.  *     فسبح باسم ربك العظيم     fsbH basm rbk al`Zym     So praise/glorify with your Lord's name the great.434     Therefore, you shall glorify the name of your Lord, Most Great.     So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High.
