2.  *     Concerning the Great News,     About the awesome tiding [of resurrection],     About the information/news the great.     `n alnbA al`Zym
 
3.  *     About which they cannot agree.     on which they [so utterly] disagree. [2]1     Which they are in it differing/disagreeing.     alXy hm fyh mKtlfwn
 
4.  *     Verily, they shall soon (come to) know!     Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]!     No, but they will know.     kla sy`lmwn
 
5.  *     Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!     And once again: [3]2 Nay, but in time they will come to understand!     Then no but they will know.     xm kla sy`lmwn
 
6.  *     Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,     HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you],     Did We not make the earth/Planet Earth prepared/spread ?     alm nj`l alarD mhada
 
7.  *     And the mountains as pegs?     and the mountains [its] pegs? [4]3     And the mountains (as) stakes/hooks (anchors).     waljbal awtada
 
8.  *     And (have We not) created you in pairs,     And We have created you in pairs; [5]4     And We created you pairs/couples/kinds.     wKlqnakm azwaja
 
9.  *     And made your sleep for rest,     and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death [6]5     And We made your sleep rest/tranquil.     wj`lna nwmkm sbata
 
10.  *     And made the night as a covering,     and made the night [its] cloak     And We made the night a cover.     wj`lna allyl lbasa
 
11.  *     And made the day as a means of subsistence?     and made the day [a symbol of] life. [7]6     And We made the daytime (for) livelihood/sustenance.     wj`lna alnhar m`a$a
 
12.  *     And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,     And We have built above you seven firmaments, [8]7     And We built/constructed above you seven strong.     wbnyna fwqkm sb`a $dada
 
13.  *     And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?     and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour.     And We made a lamp glowing/illuminating.     wj`lna sraja whaja
 
14.  *     And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,     And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance,     And We descended from the raining clouds strongly flowing/pouring water.     wanzlna mn alm`Srat ma' xjaja
 
15.  *     That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,     so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs,     To bring out with it seeds/grains and plants/growth.     lnKrj bh Hba wnbata
 
16.  *     And gardens of luxurious growth?     and gardens dense with follage. [9]8     And interwoven/encircled treed gardens/paradises.     wjnat alfafa
 
17.  *     Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,     VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] [10]9 has indeed its appointed time:     That truly the Judgment Day/Separation Day/Resurrection Day was an appointed time.     an ywm alfSl kan myqata
 
18.  *     The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;     the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes;     A day/time the horn/bugle/instrument be blown in, so you come (in) groups/crowds     ywm ynfK fy alSwr ftatwn afwaja
 
19.  *     And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,     and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; [11]10     And the sky/space was opened, so it was/became doors/entrances.     wftHt alsma' fkant abwaba
 
20.  *     And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.     and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. [12]11     And the mountains were made to move, so it was/became a mirage.     wsyrt aljbal fkant sraba
 
21.  *     Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,     [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] -     That truly Hell was/is an observatory/ambuscade.     an jhnm kant mrSada
 
22.  *     For the transgressors a place of destination:     a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right!     For the tyrants a return.     llTaGyn maba
 
23.  *     They will dwell therein for ages.     In it shall they remain for a long time. [13]12     Remaining/waiting in it long periods of time/centuries.     labxyn fyha aHqaba
 
24.  *     Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,     Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink -     They do not taste/experience in it cold/cool and nor a drink.     layXwqwn fyha brda wla$raba
 
25.  *     Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,     only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: [14]13     Except hot water/sweat and decayed/rotten.     ala Hmyma wGsaqa
 
26.  *     A fitting recompense (for them).     a meet requital [for their sins]!     A suiting/fitting reimbursement.     jza' wfaqa
 
27.  *     For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),     Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account,     That, they truly were not hoping/expecting counting/calculation.     anhm kanwa layrjwn Hsaba
 
28.  *     But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.     having given the lie to Our messages one and all:     And they lied/denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences lying/denying/falsifying.     wkXbwa bayatna kXaba
 
29.  *     And all things have We preserved on record.     but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did].     And every thing We counted/computed it (in) a Book/judgment.     wkl $Y aHSynah ktaba
 
30.  *     "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment."     [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" [15]14     So taste/experience, so We will never/not increase you except torture.     fXwqwa fln nzydkm ala `Xaba
 
31.  *     Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;     [But,] verily for the God-conscious there is supreme fulfilment in store: [16]15     That truly to the fearing and obeying (is) a success/triumph.     an llmtqyn mfaza
 
32.  *     Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;     luxuriant gardens and vinyards,     Fenced gardens and grapes.     HdaYq wa`naba
 
33.  *     Companions of equal age;     and splendid companions well matched, [17]16     And full grown breasts and same age/not aging.     wkwa`b atraba
 
34.  *     And a cup full (to the brim).     and a cup [of happiness] overflowing.     And a cup filled to the rim.     wkasa dhaqa
 
35.  *     No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-     No empty talk will they hear in that [paradise], nor any lie.     They do not hear/listen in it nonsense/senseless talk and nor lying.     laysm`wn fyha lGwa wla kXaba
 
36.  *     Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,     [All this will be] a reward from thy Sustainer, a gift in accordance with [His Own] reckoning [18]17 -     Reimbursement from your Lord a gift/grant account.     jza' mn rbk `Ta' Hsaba
 
37.  *     (From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, ((Allah)) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.     [a reward from] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Most Gracious! [And] none shall have it in their power to raise their voices unto Him     The skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's and what (is) between them (B)'s Lord, the merciful, they do not own/possess from Him an address/conversation (they can not talk to Him).     rb alsmawat walarD wmabynhma alrHmn laymlkwn mnh KTaba
 
38.  *     The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by ((Allah)) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.     on the Day when all [human] souls [19]18 and all the angels will stand up in ranks: none will speak but he to whom the Most Gracious will have given leave; and [everyone] will say [only] what is right. [20]19     A day/time the Soul/Spirit and the angels stand (in) a row/arranged, they do not speak/talk,except who the merciful permitted/allowed for him, and he said right/correct.     ywm yqwm alrwH walmlaYk+ Sfa laytklmwn ala mn aXn lh alrHmn wqal Swaba
 
39.  *     That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!     That will be the Day of Ultimate Truth: [21]20 whoever wills, then, let him take the path that leads towards his Sustainer!     That (is) the day/time, the real/true/just, so who willed/wanted took/received to his Lord a return.     Xlk alywm alHq fmn $a' atKX ali rbh maba
 
40.  *     Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"     Verily, We have warned you of suffering near at hand - [suffering] on the Day when man shall [clearly] see what his hands have sent ahead, and when he who has denied the truth shall say, "Oh, would that I were mere dust... !"     We (E), We warned/gave you notice of (a) near/close torture, a day/time the human/man looks (to) what his two hands advanced/undertook, and the disbeliever says: "Oh, if only I was dust/earth."454     ana anXrnakm `Xaba qryba ywm ynZr almr' maqdmt ydah wyqwl alkafr yalytny knt traba
