1.  *     I do call to witness the Resurrection Day;     I swear by the Day of Resurrection.     سورة القيامة  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ لااقسم بيوم القيامة     I do not swear/make oath with the Resurrection Day         Laoqsimu biyawmi alqiyamati
 
2.  *     And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil).     And I swear by the blaming soul.     ولااقسم بالنفس اللوامة     And nor I swear/make oath with the self, the often blaming/reprimanding.         Walaoqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamati
 
3.  *     Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?     Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones?     ايحسب الانسان الن نجمع عظامه     Does the human/mankind think/suppose that We (will) not gather/unite his bones?         Ayahsabu al-insanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahu
 
4.  *     Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.     Yes indeed; we are able to reconstruct his finger tip.     بلى قادرين على ان نسوي بنانه     Yes/certainly We are capable/able on that (E) We straighten (recreate) his fingertip (finger print).         Balaqadireena AAalaan nusawwiya bananahu
 
5.  *     But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.     But the human being tends to believe only what he sees in front of him.     بل يريد الانسان ليفجر امامه     Rather the human/mankind wants to debauch/corrupt in front of him.         Bal yureedu al-insanu liyafjura amamahu
 
6.  *     He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?"     He doubts the Day of Resurrection!     يسأل ايان يوم القيامة     He asks/questions: "When (is) the Resurrection Day?"         Yas-alu ayyana yawmu alqiyamati
 
7.  *     At length, when the sight is dazed,     Once the vision is sharpened.     فاذا برق البصر     So if/when the eye sight/vision glared/gleamed/confused and astonished.         Fa-ithabariqa albasaru
 
8.  *     And the moon is buried in darkness.     And the moon is eclipsed.     وخسف القمر     And the moon punctured/eclipsed.         Wakhasafa alqamaru
 
9.  *     And the sun and moon are joined together,-     And the sun and the moon crash into one another.     وجمع الشمس والقمر     And the sun and the moon were gathered/collected.         WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru
 
10.  *     That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"     The human being will say on that day, "Where is the escape?"     يقول الانسان يومئذ اين المفر     The human/mankind that day says: "Where (is) the escape/escape to (shelter)?"         Yaqoolu al-insanu yawma-ithin ayna almafarru
 
11.  *     By no means! No place of safety!     Absolutely, there is no escape.     كلا لاوزر     No but (there is) no shelter.         Kallalawazara
 
12.  *     Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest.     To your Lord, on that day, is the final destiny.     الى ربك يومئذ المستقر     To your Lord that day (is) the settlement.         Ilarabbika yawma-ithin almustaqarru
 
13.  *     That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back.     The human being will be informed, on that day, of everything he did to advance himself, and everything he did to regress himself.     ينبأ الانسان يومئذ بما قدم واخر     The human/mankind (will) be informed that day with what he advanced/preceded and he delayed.         Yunabbao al-insanu yawma-ithin bimaqaddama waakhkhara
 
14.  *     Nay, man will be evidence against himself,     The human being will be his own judge.     بل الانسان على نفسه بصيرة     Rather the human/mankind (is) on him self (an) evidence/witness.         Bali al-insanu AAalanafsihi baseeratun
 
15.  *     Even though he were to put up his excuses.     No excuses will be accepted.     ولو القى معاذيره     And even if he threw (gave) his apologies/excuses.         Walaw alqamaAAatheerahu
 
16.  *     Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.     Do not move your tongue to hasten it.     لاتحرك به لسانك لتعجل به     Do not move with it your tongue to hurry/hasten/rush with it.         Latuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihi
 
17.  *     It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:     It is we who will collect it into Quran.     ان علينا جمعه وقرانه     That truly on Us (is) gathering/accumulating it, and its reading/recitation.         Inna AAalaynajamAAahu waqur-anahu
 
18.  *     But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated):     Once we recite it, you shall follow such a Quran.     فاذا قراناه فاتبع قرانه     So when/if We read it, so follow its reading/recitation.         Fa-ithaqara\nahu faittabiAA qur-anahu
 
19.  *     Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):     Then it is we who will explain it.     ثم ان علينا بيانه     Then that truly on Us (is) its clarification/explanation.         Thumma inna AAalaynabayanahu
 
20.  *     Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life,     Indeed, you love this fleeting life.     كلا بل تحبون العاجلة     No, but you love/like the worldly life/present.         Kallabal tuhibboona alAAajilata
 
21.  *     And leave alone the Hereafter.     While disregarding the Hereafter.     وتذرون الاخرة     And you leave the end (other life).         Watatharoona al-akhirata
 
22.  *     Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);-     Some faces, on that day, will be happy     وجوه يومئذ ناضرة     Faces/fronts, that day (are) beautiful and good (bright/blooming).         Wujoohun yawma-ithin nadiratun
 
23.  *     Looking towards their Lord;     Looking at their Lord.     الى ربها ناظرة     To its Lord looking.         Ilarabbihanathiratun
 
24.  *     And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal,     Other faces will be, on that day, miserable.     ووجوه يومئذ باسرة     And faces/fronts, that day (are) frowning/gloomy.         Wawujoohun yawma-ithin basiratun
 
25.  *     In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them;     Expecting the worst.     تظن ان يفعل بها فاقرة     (They) think/suppose that a disaster/calamity will be made/done with it.         Tathunnu an yufAAala bihafaqiratun
 
26.  *     Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit),     Indeed, when (the soul) reaches the throat.     كلا اذا بلغت التراقي     No, but when/if the collar bones/verge of death reached.         Kallaithabalaghati alttaraqiya
 
27.  *     And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?"     And it is ordered: "Let go!"     وقيل من راق     And (it) was said: "Who (is) ascended/elevated (being saved)?"         Waqeela man raqin
 
28.  *     And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting;     He knows it is the end.     وظن انه الفراق     And (he) thought/assumed that it is the separation.         Wathanna annahu alfiraqu
 
29.  *     And one leg will be joined with another:     Each leg will lay motionless next to the other leg.     والتفت الساق بالساق     And the shin/leg coiled/wrapped with the shin/leg.         Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi
 
30.  *     That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord!     To your Lord, on that day, is the summoning.     الى ربك يومئذ المساق     To your Lord (on) that day (is) the drive (destination).         Ilarabbika yawma-ithin almasaqu
 
31.  *     So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray!-     For he observed neither the charity, nor the contact prayers (Salat).     فلا صدق ولاصلى     So he did not give charity and nor he prayed.         Falasaddaqa walasalla
 
32.  *     But on the contrary, he rejected Truth and turned away!     But he disbelieved and turned away.     ولكن كذب وتولى     And but lied/denied and turned away.         Walakin kaththaba watawalla
 
33.  *     Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!     With his family, he acted arrogantly.     ثم ذهب الى اهله يتمطى     Then he went to his people walking stretched with his arms moving in a conceited manner (marching arrogantly).         Thummathahaba ilaahlihi yatamatta
 
34.  *     Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!     You have deserved this.     اولى لك فاولى     Woe/warning/threat (Hell) for you, so woe/warning/threat (Hell for you).         Awlalaka faawla
 
35.  *     Again, Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!     Indeed, you have deserved this.     ثم اولى لك فاولى     Then woe/warning/threat (Hell) for you, so woe/warning/threat (Hell for you).         Thumma awlalaka faawla
 
36.  *     Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)?     Does the human being think that he will go to nothing?     ايحسب الانسان ان يترك سدى     Does the human/mankind think/suppose that (E) he be left unattended to/disregarded (uncounted with)?         Ayahsabu al-insanu an yutraka sudan
 
37.  *     Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)?     Was he not a drop of ejected semen?     الم يك نطفة من مني يمنى     Did he not be a drop/male's or female's secretion from sperm/semen, semen being ejaculated/ discharged ?         Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna
 
38.  *     Then did he become a leech-like clot; then did ((Allah)) make and fashion (him) in due proportion.     Then He created an embryo out of it!     ثم كان علقة فخلق فسوى     Then (he) was/became a blood clot, so He created (it), so He straightened/perfected (it).         Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwa
 
39.  *     And of him He made two sexes, male and female.     He made it into male or female!     فجعل منه الزوجين الذكر والانثى     So He made/created from it the couples/pairs, the male and the female.         FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waal-ontha
 
40.  *     Has not He, (the same), the power to give life to the dead?     Is He then unable to revive the dead?     اليس ذلك بقادر على ان يحيي الموتى     Is not that with capable/able on that He revives/makes alive the deads?448         Alaysathalika biqadirin AAalaan yuhyiya almawta
