1.  *     Kaf. Ha. Ya. 'Ain. Sad.     K. H. Y. `A. S. (Kaaf Haa Yaa `Ayn Saad)     سورة مريم بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ــــ كهيعص     swr+ mrym bsm allh alrHmn alrHym khy`S
 
2.  *     (This is) a recital of the Mercy of thy Lord to His servant Zakariya.     A narration about your Lord's mercy towards His servant Zachariah.     ذكر رحمت ربك عبده زكريا     Xkr rHmt rbk `bdh zkrya
 
3.  *     Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret,     He called his Lord, a secret call.     اذ نادى ربه نداء خفيا     aX nadi rbh nda' Kfya
 
4.  *     Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee!     He said, "My Lord, the bones have turned brittle in my body, and my hair is aflame with gray. As I implore You, my Lord, I never despair.     قال رب اني وهن العظم مني واشتعل الراس شيبا ولم اكن بدعائك رب شقيا     qal rb any whn al`Zm mny wa$t`l alras $yba wlm akn bd`aYk rb $qya
 
5.  *     "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-     "I worry about my dependants after me, and my wife has been sterile. Grant me, from You, an heir.     واني خفت الموالي من ورائي وكانت امراتي عاقرا فهب لي من لدنك وليا     wany Kft almwaly mn wraYy wkant amraty `aqra fhb ly mn ldnk wlya
 
6.  *     "(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!"     "Let him be my heir and the heir of Jacob's clan, and make him, my Lord, acceptable."     يرثني ويرث من ال يعقوب واجعله رب رضيا     yrxny wyrx mn al y`qwb waj`lh rb rDya
 
7.  *     (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."     "O Zachariah, we give you good news; a boy whose name shall be John (Yahya). We never created anyone like him before."     يازكريا انا نبشرك بغلام اسمه يحيى لم نجعل له من قبل سميا     yazkrya ana nb$rk bGlam asmh yHyi lm nj`l lh mn qbl smya
 
8.  *     He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?"     He said, "My Lord, will I have a son despite my wife's sterility, and despite my old age?"     قال رب انى يكون لي غلام وكانت امراتي عاقرا وقد بلغت من الكبر عتيا     qal rb ani ykwn ly Glam wkant amraty `aqra wqd blGt mn alkbr `tya
 
9.  *     He said: "So (it will be) thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: I did indeed create thee before, when thou hadst been nothing!'"     He said, "Thus said your Lord: `It is easy for Me to do. I created you before that, and you were nothing.' "     قال كذلك قال ربك هو على هين وقد خلقتك من قبل ولم تك شيئا     qal kXlk qal rbk hw `li hyn wqd Klqtk mn qbl wlm tk $yYa
 
10.  *     (Zakariya) said: "O my Lord! give me a Sign." "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb."     He said, "My Lord, give me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three consecutive nights."     قال رب اجعل لي اية قال ايتك الا تكلم الناس ثلاث ليال سويا     qal rb aj`l ly ay+ qal aytk ala tklm alnas xlax lyal swya
 
11.  *     So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah.s praises in the morning and in the evening.     He came out to his family, from the sanctuary, and signaled to them: "Meditate (on God) day and night."     فخرج على قومه من المحراب فاوحى اليهم ان سبحوا بكرة وعشيا     fKrj `li qwmh mn almHrab fawHi alyhm an sbHwa bkr+ w`$ya
 
12.  *     (To his son came the command): "O Yahya! take hold of the Book with might": and We gave him Wisdom even as a youth,     "O John, you shall uphold the scripture, strongly." We endowed him with wisdom, even in his youth.     يايحيى خذ الكتاب بقوة واتيناه الحكم صبيا     yayHyi KX alktab bqw+ watynah alHkm Sbya
 
13.  *     And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout,     And (we endowed him with) kindness from us and purity, for he was righteous.     وحنانا من لدنا وزكاة وكان تقيا     wHnana mn ldna wzka+ wkan tqya
 
14.  *     And kind to his parents, and he was not overbearing or rebellious.     He honored his parents, and was never a disobedient tyrant.     وبرا بوالديه ولم يكن جبارا عصيا     wbra bwaldyh wlm ykn jbara `Sya
 
15.  *     So Peace on him the day he was born, the day that he dies, and the day that he will be raised up to life (again)!     Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he is resurrected back to life.     وسلام عليه يوم ولد ويوم يموت ويوم يبعث حيا     wslam `lyh ywm wld wywm ymwt wywm yb`x Hya
 
16.  *     Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.     Mention in the scripture Mary. She isolated herself from her family, into an eastern location.     واذكر في الكتاب مريم اذ انتبذت من اهلها مكانا شرقيا     waXkr fy alktab mrym aX antbXt mn ahlha mkana $rqya
 
17.  *     She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.     While a barrier separated her from them, we sent to her our Spirit. He went to her in the form of a human being.     فاتخذت من دونهم حجابا فارسلنا اليها روحنا فتمثل لها بشرا سويا     fatKXt mn dwnhm Hjaba farslna alyha rwHna ftmxl lha b$ra swya
 
18.  *     She said: "I seek refuge from thee to ((Allah)) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah."     She said, "I seek refuge in the Most Gracious, that you may be righteous."     قالت اني اعوذ بالرحمن منك ان كنت تقيا     qalt any a`wX balrHmn mnk an knt tqya
 
19.  *     He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.     He said, "I am the messenger of your Lord, to grant you a pure son."     قال انما انا رسول ربك لاهب لك غلاما زكيا     qal anma ana rswl rbk lahb lk Glama zkya
 
20.  *     She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"     She said, "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me; I have never been unchaste."     قالت انى يكون لي غلام ولم يمسسني بشر ولم اك بغيا     qalt ani ykwn ly Glam wlm ymssny b$r wlm ak bGya
 
21.  *     He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It is a matter (so) decreed."     He said, "Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me. We will render him a sign for the people, and mercy from us. This is a predestined matter.' "     قال كذلك قال ربك هو على هين ولنجعله اية للناس ورحمة منا وكان امرا مقضيا     qal kXlk qal rbk hw `li hyn wlnj`lh ay+ llnas wrHm+ mna wkan amra mqDya
 
22.  *     So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.     When she bore him, she isolated herself to a faraway place.     فحملته فانتبذت به مكانا قصيا     fHmlth fantbXt bh mkana qSya
 
23.  *     And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"     The birth process came to her by the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "(I am so ashamed;) I wish I were dead before this happened, and completely forgotten."     فاجاءها المخاض الى جذع النخلة قالت ياليتني مت قبل هذا وكنت نسيا منسيا     faja'ha almKaD ali jX` alnKl+ qalt yalytny mt qbl hXa wknt nsya mnsya
 
24.  *     But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee;     (The infant) called her from beneath her, saying, "Do not grieve. Your Lord has provided you with a stream.     فناداها من تحتها الا تحزني قد جعل ربك تحتك سريا     fnadaha mn tHtha ala tHzny qd j`l rbk tHtk srya
 
25.  *     "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee.     "If you shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will drop ripe dates for you.     وهزي اليك بجذع النخلة تساقط عليك رطبا جنيا     whzy alyk bjX` alnKl+ tsaqT `lyk rTba jnya
 
26.  *     "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to ((Allah)) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being'"     "Eat and drink, and be happy. When you see anyone, say, `I have made a vow of silence; I am not talking today to anyone.' "     فكلي واشربي وقري عينا فاما ترين من البشر احدا فقولي ان نذرت للرحمن صوما فلن اكلم اليوم انسيا     fkly wa$rby wqry `yna fama tryn mn alb$r aHda fqwly an nXrt llrHmn Swma fln aklm alywm ansya
 
27.  *     At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought!     She came to her family, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have committed something that is totally unexpected.     فاتت به قومها تحمله قالوا يامريم لقد جئت شيئا فريا     fatt bh qwmha tHmlh qalwa yamrym lqd jYt $yYa frya
 
28.  *     "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!"     "O descendant of Aaron, your father was not a bad man, nor was your mother unchaste."     يااخت هارون ماكان ابوك امرأ سوء وماكانت امك بغيا     yaaKt harwn makan abwk amrA sw' wmakant amk bGya
 
29.  *     But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"     She pointed to him. They said, "How can we talk with an infant in the crib?"     فاشارت اليه قالوا كيف نكلم من كان في المهد صبيا     fa$art alyh qalwa kyf nklm mn kan fy almhd Sbya
 
30.  *     He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;     (The infant spoke and) said, "I am a servant of GOD. He has given me the scripture, and has appointed me a prophet.     قال اني عبدالله اتاني الكتاب وجعلني نبيا     qal any `bdallh atany alktab wj`lny nbya
 
31.  *     "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;     "He made me blessed wherever I go, and enjoined me to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and the obligatory charity (Zakat) for as long as I live.     وجعلني مباركا اين ماكنت واوصاني بالصلاة والزكاة مادمت حيا     wj`lny mbarka ayn maknt wawSany balSla+ walzka+ madmt Hya
 
32.  *     "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;     "I am to honor my mother; He did not make me a disobedient rebel.     وبرا بوالدتي ولم يجعلني جبارا شقيا     wbra bwaldty wlm yj`lny jbara $qya
 
33.  *     "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"!     And peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I get resurrected."     والسلام علي يوم ولدت ويوم اموت ويوم ابعث حيا     walslam `ly ywm wldt wywm amwt wywm ab`x Hya
 
34.  *     Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.     That was Jesus, the son of Mary, and this is the truth of this matter, about which they continue to doubt.     ذلك عيسى ابن مريم قول الحق الذي فيه يمترون     Xlk `ysi abn mrym qwl alHq alXy fyh ymtrwn
 
35.  *     It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be", and it is.     It does not befit GOD that He begets a son, be He glorified. To have anything done, He simply says to it, "Be," and it is.     ماكان لله ان يتخذ من ولد سبحانه اذا قضى امرا فانما يقول له كن فيكون     makan llh an ytKX mn wld sbHanh aXa qDi amra fanma yqwl lh kn fykwn
 
36.  *     Verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: this is a Way that is straight.     He also proclaimed, "GOD is my Lord and your Lord; you shall worship Him alone. This is the right path."     و ان الله ربي وربكم فاعبدوه هذا صراط مستقيم     w an allh rby wrbkm fa`bdwh hXa SraT mstqym
 
37.  *     But the sects differ among themselves: and woe to the unbelievers because of the (coming) Judgment of a Momentous Day!     The various parties disputed among themselves (regarding the identity of Jesus). Therefore, woe to those who disbelieve from the sight of a terrible day.     فاختلف الاحزاب من بينهم فويل للذين كفروا من مشهد يوم عظيم     faKtlf alaHzab mn bynhm fwyl llXyn kfrwa mn m$hd ywm `Zym
 
38.  *     How plainly will they see and hear, the Day that they will appear before Us! but the unjust today are in error manifest!     Wait till you hear them and see them when they come to face us. The transgressors on that day will be totally lost.     اسمع بهم وابصر يوم ياتوننا لكن الظالمون اليوم في ضلال مبين     asm` bhm wabSr ywm yatwnna lkn alZalmwn alywm fy Dlal mbyn
 
39.  *     But warn them of the Day of Distress, when the matter will be determined: for (behold,) they are negligent and they do not believe!     Warn them about the day of remorse, when judgment will be issued. They are totally oblivious; they do not believe.     وانذرهم يوم الحسرة اذ قضي الامر وهم في غفلة وهم لايؤمنون     wanXrhm ywm alHsr+ aX qDy alamr whm fy Gfl+ whm layWmnwn
 
40.  *     It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon: to Us will they all be returned.     We are the ones who inherit the earth and everyone on it; to us everyone will be returned.     انا نحن نرث الارض ومن عليها والينا يرجعون     ana nHn nrx alarD wmn `lyha walyna yrj`wn
 
41.  *     (Also mention in the Book (the story of) Abraham: He was a man of Truth, a prophet.     Mention in the scripture Abraham; he was a saint, a prophet.     واذكر في الكتاب ابراهيم انه كان صديقا نبيا     waXkr fy alktab abrahym anh kan Sdyqa nbya
 
42.  *     Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing?     He said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship what can neither hear, nor see, nor help you in any way?     اذ قال لابيه ياابت لم تعبد مالايسمع ولايبصر ولايغني عنك شيئا     aX qal labyh yaabt lm t`bd malaysm` wlaybSr wlayGny `nk $yYa
 
43.  *     "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight.     "O my father, I have received certain knowledge that you did not receive. Follow me, and I will guide you in a straight path.     ياابت اني قد جاءني من العلم مالم ياتك فاتبعني اهدك صراطا سويا     yaabt any qd ja'ny mn al`lm malm yatk fatb`ny ahdk SraTa swya
 
44.  *     "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against ((Allah)) Most Gracious.     "O my father, do not worship the devil. The devil has rebelled against the Most Gracious.     يا ابت لا تعبد الشيطان ان الشيطان كان للرحمن عصيا     ya abt la t`bd al$yTan an al$yTan kan llrHmn `Sya
 
45.  *     "O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from ((Allah)) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."     "O my father, I fear lest you incur retribution from the Most Gracious, then become an ally of the devil."     ياابت اني اخاف ان يمسسك عذاب من الرحمن فتكون للشيطان وليا     yaabt any aKaf an ymssk `Xab mn alrHmn ftkwn ll$yTan wlya
 
46.  *     (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"     He said, "Have you forsaken my gods, O Abraham? Unless you stop, I will stone you. Leave me alone."     قال اراغب انت عن الهتي ياابراهيم لئن لم تنته لارجمنك واهجرني مليا     qal araGb ant `n alhty yaabrahym lYn lm tnth larjmnk wahjrny mlya
 
47.  *     Abraham said: "Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious.     He said, "Peace be upon you. I will implore my Lord to forgive you; He has been Most Kind to me.     قال سلام عليك ساستغفر لك ربي انه كان بي حفيا     qal slam `lyk sastGfr lk rby anh kan by Hfya
 
48.  *     "And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides Allah. I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest."     "I will abandon you and the gods you worship beside GOD. I will worship only my Lord. By imploring my Lord alone, I cannot go wrong."     واعتزلكم وماتدعون من دون الله وادعوا ربي عسى الا اكون بدعاء ربي شقيا     wa`tzlkm wmatd`wn mn dwn allh wad`wa rby `si ala akwn bd`a' rby $qya
 
49.  *     When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and each one of them We made a prophet.     Because he abandoned them and the gods they worshiped beside GOD, we granted him Isaac and Jacob, and we made each of them a prophet.     فلما اعتزلهم ومايعبدون من دون الله وهبنا له اسحاق ويعقوب وكلا جعلنا نبيا     flma a`tzlhm wmay`bdwn mn dwn allh whbna lh asHaq wy`qwb wkla j`lna nbya
 
50.  *     And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth.     We showered them with our mercy, and we granted them an honorable position in history.     ووهبنا لهم من رحمتنا وجعلنا لهم لسان صدق عليا     wwhbna lhm mn rHmtna wj`lna lhm lsan Sdq `lya
 
51.  *     Also mention in the Book (the story of) Moses: for he was specially chosen, and he was an apostle (and) a prophet.     Mention in the scripture Moses. He was devoted, and he was a messenger prophet.     واذكر في الكتاب موسى انه كان مخلصا وكان رسولا نبيا     waXkr fy alktab mwsi anh kan mKlSa wkan rswla nbya
 
52.  *     And we called him from the right side of Mount (Sinai), and made him draw near to Us, for mystic (converse).     We called him from the right side of Mount Sinai. We brought him close, to confer with him.     وناديناه من جانب الطورالايمن وقربناه نجيا     wnadynah mn janb alTwralaymn wqrbnah njya
 
53.  *     And, out of Our Mercy, We gave him his brother Aaron, (also) a prophet.     And we granted him, out of our mercy, his brother Aaron as a prophet.     ووهبنا له من رحمتنا اخاه هارون نبيا     wwhbna lh mn rHmtna aKah harwn nbya
 
54.  *     Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma'il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised, and he was an apostle (and) a prophet.     And mention in the scripture Ismail. He was truthful when he made a promise, and he was a messenger prophet.     واذكر في الكتاب اسماعيل انه كان صادق الوعد وكان رسولا نبيا     waXkr fy alktab asma`yl anh kan Sadq alw`d wkan rswla nbya
 
55.  *     He used to enjoin on his people Prayer and Charity, and he was most acceptable in the sight of his Lord.     He used to enjoin his family to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and the obligatory charity (Zakat); he was acceptable to his Lord.     وكان يامر اهله بالصلاة والزكاة وكان عند ربه مرضيا     wkan yamr ahlh balSla+ walzka+ wkan `nd rbh mrDya
 
56.  *     Also mention in the Book the case of Idris: He was a man of truth (and sincerity), (and) a prophet:     And mention in the scripture Idris. He was a saint, a prophet.     واذكر في الكتاب ادريس انه كان صديقا نبيا     waXkr fy alktab adrys anh kan Sdyqa nbya
 
57.  *     And We raised him to a lofty station.     We raised him to an honorable rank.     ورفعناه مكانا عليا     wrf`nah mkana `lya
 
58.  *     Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of ((Allah)) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.     These are some of the prophets whom GOD blessed. They were chosen from among the descendants of Adam, and the descendants of those whom we carried with Noah, and the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and from among those whom we guided and selected. When the revelations of the Most Gracious are recited to them, they fall prostrate, weeping.     اولئك الذين انعم الله عليهم من النبيين من ذرية ادم وممن حملنا مع نوح ومن ذرية ابراهيم واسرائيل وممن هدينا واجتبينا اذا تتلى عليهم ايات الرحمن خروا سجدا وبكيا     awlYk alXyn an`m allh `lyhm mn alnbyyn mn Xry+ adm wmmn Hmlna m` nwH wmn Xry+ abrahym wasraYyl wmmn hdyna wajtbyna aXa ttli `lyhm ayat alrHmn Krwa sjda wbkya
 
59.  *     But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-     After them, He substituted generations who lost the Contact Prayers (Salat), and pursued their lusts. They will suffer the consequences.     فخلف من بعدهم خلف اضاعوا الصلاة واتبعوا الشهوات فسوف يلقون غيا     fKlf mn b`dhm Klf aDa`wa alSla+ watb`wa al$hwat fswf ylqwn Gya
 
60.  *     Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least,-     Only those who repent, believe, and lead a righteous life will enter Paradise, without the least injustice.     الا من تاب وامن وعمل صالحا فاولئك يدخلون الجنة ولايظلمون شيئا     ala mn tab wamn w`ml SalHa fawlYk ydKlwn aljn+ wlayZlmwn $yYa
 
61.  *     Gardens of Eternity, those which ((Allah)) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass.     The gardens of Eden await them, as promised by the Most Gracious for those who worship Him, even in privacy. Certainly, His promise must come to pass.     جنات عدن التي وعد الرحمن عباده بالغيب انه كان وعده ماتيا     jnat `dn alty w`d alrHmn `badh balGyb anh kan w`dh matya
 
62.  *     They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of Peace: And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening.     They will not hear any nonsense therein; only peace. They receive their provisions therein, day and night.     لايسمعون فيها لغوا الا سلاما ولهم رزقهم فيها بكرة وعشيا     laysm`wn fyha lGwa ala slama wlhm rzqhm fyha bkr+ w`$ya
 
63.  *     Such is the Garden which We give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who guard against Evil.     Such is Paradise; we grant it to those among our servants who are righteous.     تلك الجنة التي نورث من عبادنا من كان تقيا     tlk aljn+ alty nwrx mn `badna mn kan tqya
 
64.  *     (The angels say:) "We descend not but by command of thy Lord: to Him belongeth what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between: and thy Lord never doth forget,-     We do not come down except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs our past, our future, and everything between them. Your Lord is never forgetful.     ومانتنزل الا بامر ربك له مابين ايدينا وماخلفنا ومابين ذلك وماكان ربك نسيا     wmantnzl ala bamr rbk lh mabyn aydyna wmaKlfna wmabyn Xlk wmakan rbk nsya
 
65.  *     "Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?"     The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; you shall worship Him and steadfastly persevere in worshiping Him. Do you know of anyone who equals Him?     رب السماوات والارض ومابينهما فاعبده واصطبر لعبادته هل تعلم له سميا     rb alsmawat walarD wmabynhma fa`bdh waSTbr l`badth hl t`lm lh smya
 
66.  *     Man says: "What! When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"     The human being asks, "After I die, do I come back to life?"     ويقول الانسان ءاذا مامت لسوف اخرج حيا     wyqwl alansan 'aXa mamt lswf aKrj Hya
 
67.  *     But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?     Did the human being forget that we created him already, and he was nothing?     اولايذكر الانسان انا خلقناه من قبل ولم يك شيئا     awlayXkr alansan ana Klqnah mn qbl wlm yk $yYa
 
68.  *     So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell;     By your Lord, we will certainly summon them, together with the devils, and will gather them around Hell, humiliated.     فوربك لنحشرنهم والشياطين ثم لنحضرنهم حول جهنم جثيا     fwrbk lnH$rnhm wal$yaTyn xm lnHDrnhm Hwl jhnm jxya
 
69.  *     Then shall We certainly drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against ((Allah)) Most Gracious.     Then we will pick out from each group the most ardent opponent of the Most Gracious.     ثم لننزعن من كل شيعة ايهم اشد على الرحمن عتيا     xm lnnz`n mn kl $y`+ ayhm a$d `li alrHmn `tya
 
70.  *     And certainly We know best those who are most worthy of being burned therein.     We know full well those who are most deserving of burning therein.     ثم لنحن اعلم بالذين هم اولى بها صليا     xm lnHn a`lm balXyn hm awli bha Slya
 
71.  *     Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished.     Every single one of you must see it; this is an irrevocable decision of your Lord.     وان منكم الا واردها كان على ربك حتما مقضيا     wan mnkm ala wardha kan `li rbk Htma mqDya
 
72.  *     But We shall save those who guarded against evil, and We shall leave the wrong-doers therein, (humbled) to their knees.     Then we rescue the righteous, and leave the transgressors in it, humiliated.     ثم ننجي الذين اتقوا ونذر الظالمين فيها جثيا     xm nnjy alXyn atqwa wnXr alZalmyn fyha jxya
 
73.  *     When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"     When our revelations are recited to them, clearly, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of us is more prosperous? Which of us is in the majority?"     واذا تتلى عليهم اياتنا بينات قال الذين كفروا للذين امنوا اي الفريقين خير مقاما واحسن نديا     waXa ttli `lyhm ayatna bynat qal alXyn kfrwa llXyn amnwa ay alfryqyn Kyr mqama waHsn ndya
 
74.  *     But how many (countless) generations before them have we destroyed, who were even better in equipment and in glitter to the eye?     Many a generation have we annihilated before them; they were more powerful, and more prosperous.     وكم اهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هم احسن اثاثا ورئيا     wkm ahlkna qblhm mn qrn hm aHsn axaxa wrYya
 
75.  *     Say: "If any men go astray, ((Allah)) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces!     Say, "Those who choose to go astray, the Most Gracious will lead them on, until they see what is promised for them - either the retribution or the Hour. That is when they find out who really is worse off, and weaker in power."     قل من كان في الضلالة فليمدد له الرحمن مدا حتى اذا راوا مايوعدون اما العذاب واما الساعة فسيعلمون من هو شر مكانا واضعف جندا     ql mn kan fy alDlal+ flymdd lh alrHmn mda Hti aXa rawa mayw`dwn ama al`Xab wama alsa`+ fsy`lmwn mn hw $r mkana waD`f jnda
 
76.  *     "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return."     GOD augments the guidance of those who choose to be guided. For the good deeds are eternally rewarded by your Lord, and bring far better returns.     ويزيد الله الذين اهتدوا هدى والباقيات الصالحات خير عند ربك ثوابا وخير مردا     wyzyd allh alXyn ahtdwa hdi walbaqyat alSalHat Kyr `nd rbk xwaba wKyr mrda
 
77.  *     Hast thou then seen the (sort of) man who rejects Our Signs, yet says: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children?"     Have you noted the one who rejected our revelations then said, "I will be given wealth and children"?!     افرايت الذي كفر باياتنا وقال لاوتين مالا وولدا     afrayt alXy kfr bayatna wqal lawtyn mala wwlda
 
78.  *     Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with ((Allah)) Most Gracious?     Has he seen the future? Has he taken such a pledge from the Most Gracious?     اطلع الغيب ام اتخذ عند الرحمن عهدا     aTl` alGyb am atKX `nd alrHmn `hda
 
79.  *     Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall add and add to his punishment.     Indeed, we will record what he utters, then commit him to ever-increasing retribution.     كلا سنكتب مايقول ونمد له من العذاب مدا     kla snktb mayqwl wnmd lh mn al`Xab mda
 
80.  *     To Us shall return all that he talks of and he shall appear before Us bare and alone.     Then we inherit everything he possessed, and he comes back to us all alone.     ونرثه مايقول وياتينا فردا     wnrxh mayqwl wyatyna frda
 
81.  *     And they have taken (for worship) gods other than Allah, to give them power and glory!     They worship beside GOD other gods that (they think) may be of help to them.     واتخذوا من دون الله الهة ليكونوا لهم عزا     watKXwa mn dwn allh alh+ lykwnwa lhm `za
 
82.  *     Instead, they shall reject their worship, and become adversaries against them.     On the contrary, they will reject their idolatry, and will be their enemies.     كلا سيكفرون بعبادتهم ويكونون عليهم ضدا     kla sykfrwn b`badthm wykwnwn `lyhm Dda
 
83.  *     Seest thou not that We have set the Evil Ones on against the unbelievers, to incite them with fury?     Do you not see how we unleash the devils upon the disbelievers to stir them up?     الم تر انا ارسلنا الشياطين على الكافرين تؤزهم ازا     alm tr ana arslna al$yaTyn `li alkafryn tWzhm aza
 
84.  *     So make no haste against them, for We but count out to them a (limited) number (of days).     Do not be impatient; we are preparing for them some preparation.     فلا تعجل عليهم انما نعد لهم عدا     fla t`jl `lyhm anma n`d lhm `da
 
85.  *     The day We shall gather the righteous to ((Allah)) Most Gracious, like a band presented before a king for honours,     The day will come when we summon the righteous before the Most Gracious in a group.     يوم نحشر المتقين الى الرحمن وفدا     ywm nH$r almtqyn ali alrHmn wfda
 
86.  *     And We shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water,-     And we will herd the guilty to Hell, to be their eternal abode.     ونسوق المجرمين الى جهنم وردا     wnswq almjrmyn ali jhnm wrda
 
87.  *     None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from ((Allah)) Most Gracious.     No one will possess the power to intercede, except those who conform to the laws of the Most Gracious.     لايملكون الشفاعة الا من اتخذ عند الرحمن عهدا     laymlkwn al$fa`+ ala mn atKX `nd alrHmn `hda
 
88.  *     They say: "((Allah)) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"     They said, "The Most Gracious has begotten a son"!     وقالوا اتخذ الرحمن ولدا     wqalwa atKX alrHmn wlda
 
89.  *     Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!     You have uttered a gross blasphemy.     لقد جئتم شيئا ادا     lqd jYtm $yYa ada
 
90.  *     At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,     The heavens are about to shatter, the earth is about to tear asunder, and the mountains are about to crumble.     تكاد السماوات يتفطرن منه وتنشق الارض وتخر الجبال هدا     tkad alsmawat ytfTrn mnh wtn$q alarD wtKr aljbal hda
 
91.  *     That they should invoke a son for ((Allah)) Most Gracious.     Because they claim that the Most Gracious has begotten a son.     ان دعوا للرحمن ولدا     an d`wa llrHmn wlda
 
92.  *     For it is not consonant with the majesty of ((Allah)) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.     It is not befitting the Most Gracious that He should beget a son.     وماينبغي للرحمن ان يتخذ ولدا     wmaynbGy llrHmn an ytKX wlda
 
93.  *     Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to ((Allah)) Most Gracious as a servant.     Every single one in the heavens and the earth is a servant of the Most Gracious.     ان كل من في السماوات والارض الا اتي الرحمن عبدا     an kl mn fy alsmawat walarD ala aty alrHmn `bda
 
94.  *     He does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all) exactly.     He has encompassed them, and has counted them one by one.     لقد احصاهم وعدهم عدا     lqd aHSahm w`dhm `da
 
95.  *     And everyone of them will come to Him singly on the Day of Judgment.     All of them will come before Him on the Day of Resurrection as individuals.     وكلهم اتيه يوم القيامة فردا     wklhm atyh ywm alqyam+ frda
 
96.  *     On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will ((Allah)) Most Gracious bestow love.     Surely, those who believe and lead a righteous life, the Most Gracious will shower them with love.     ان الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات سيجعل لهم الرحمن ودا     an alXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat syj`l lhm alrHmn wda
 
97.  *     So have We made the (Qur'an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous, and warnings to people given to contention.     We thus made this (Quran) elucidated in your tongue, in order to deliver good news to the righteous, and to warn with it the opponents.     فانما يسرناه بلسانك لتبشر به المتقين وتنذر به قوما لدا     fanma ysrnah blsank ltb$r bh almtqyn wtnXr bh qwma lda
 
98.  *     But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them?     Many a generation before them we annihilated; can you perceive any of them, or hear from them any sound?     وكم اهلكنا قبلهم من قرن هل تحس منهم من احد او تسمع لهم ركزا     wkm ahlkna qblhm mn qrn hl tHs mnhm mn aHd aw tsm` lhm rkza
