We created you as mates (for one another).

And We created you pairs/couples/kinds.

And made your sleep for rest,

We created sleeping so you can rest.
|

And We made your sleep rest/tranquil.

And made the night as a covering,
|
|
We made the night a cover.
|
|
And We made the night a cover.

And made the day as a means of subsistence?
|
|
And the day to seek provisions.
|
|
And We made the daytime (for) livelihood/sustenance.

And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,
|
|
We built above you seven universes.
|
|
And We built/constructed above you seven strong.

And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?
|
|
We created a bright lamp.
|
|
And We made a lamp glowing/illuminating.

And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,
|
|
We send down from the clouds pouring water.
|
|
And We descended from the raining clouds strongly flowing/pouring water.

That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,
|
|
To produce with it grains and plants.
|
|
To bring out with it seeds/grains and plants/growth.

And gardens of luxurious growth?
|
|
And various orchards.
|
|
And interwoven/encircled treed gardens/paradises.

Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,

The Day of Decision is appointed.
|
|
That truly the Judgment Day/Separation Day/Resurrection Day was an appointed time.

The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;

The day the horn is blown, and you come in throngs.

And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
|
|
The heaven will be opened like gates.
|
|
And the sky/space was opened, so it was/became doors/entrances.

And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.
|
|
The mountains will be removed, as if they were a mirage.
|

And the mountains were made to move, so it was/became a mirage.

Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,
|
|
Gehenna is inevitable.
|
|
That truly Hell was/is an observatory/ambuscade.

For the transgressors a place of destination:

For the transgressors; it will be their abode.
|
|
For the tyrants a return.

They will dwell therein for ages.
|

They stay in it for ages.
|

Remaining/waiting in it long periods of time/centuries.

Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,
|
|
They never taste in it coolness, nor a drink.
|
|
They do not taste/experience in it cold/cool and nor a drink.

Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,
|
|
Only an inferno, and bitter food.
|
|
Except hot water/sweat and decayed/rotten.

A fitting recompense (for them).
|
|
A just requital.
|
|
A suiting/fitting reimbursement.
|

For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),

They never expected to be held accountable.

That, they truly were not hoping/expecting counting/calculation.

But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.
|
|
And utterly rejected our signs.
|
|
And they lied/denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences lying/denying/falsifying.

And all things have We preserved on record.
|
|
We counted everything in a record.
|
|
And every thing We counted/computed it (in) a Book/judgment.

"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment."
|
|
Suffer the consequences; we will only increase your retribution.
|
|
So taste/experience, so We will never/not increase you except torture.

Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;
|

The righteous have deserved a reward.
|

That truly to the fearing and obeying (is) a success/triumph.

Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;
|
|
Orchards and grapes.
|
|
Fenced gardens and grapes.

Companions of equal age;
|
|
Magnificent spouses.
|
|
And full grown breasts and same age/not aging.
|
|

|

And a cup full (to the brim).
|
|
Delicious drinks.
|
|
And a cup filled to the rim.
|
|

|
|
35. * |
No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-
|
|
They will never hear in it any nonsense or lies.
|
|
They do not hear/listen in it nonsense/senseless talk and nor lying.

Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,
|
|
A reward from your Lord; a generous recompense.
|
|
Reimbursement from your Lord a gift/grant account.
|

|
37. * |
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, ((Allah)) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.
|
|
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. The Most Gracious. No one can abrogate His decisions.
|
|
The skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's and what (is) between them (B)'s Lord, the merciful, they do not own/possess from Him an address/conversation (they can not talk to Him).

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by ((Allah)) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.

The day will come when the Spirit and the angels will stand in a row. None will speak except those permitted by the Most Gracious, and they will utter only what is right.
|

A day/time the Soul/Spirit and the angels stand (in) a row/arranged, they do not speak/talk,except who the merciful permitted/allowed for him, and he said right/correct.

That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!

Such is the inevitable day. Whoever wills let him take refuge in his Lord.
|
|
That (is) the day/time, the real/true/just, so who willed/wanted took/received to his Lord a return.

Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"

We have sufficiently warned you about an imminent retribution. That is the day when everyone will examine what his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish I were dust."

We (E), We warned/gave you notice of (a) near/close torture, a day/time the human/man looks (to) what his two hands advanced/undertook, and the disbeliever says: "Oh, if only I was dust/earth."454
