|
|
2. * |
These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear.
|
|
These (letters) constitute proofs of this clarifying scripture.
|
|
تلك ايات الكتاب المبين
|
|
Those are The Book's, the clear/evident verses/evidences.
|
|
|
|
Tilkaayatu alkitabi almubeeni
|
|
3. * |
It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers.
|
|
You may blame yourself that they are not believers.
|
|
لعلك باخع نفسك الا يكونوا مؤمنين
|
|
Maybe/perhaps you (are) exhausting/destroying yourself from anger that they not be believing.
|
|
|
|
LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka allayakoonoo mu\mineena
|
|
4. * |
If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.
|
|
If we will, we can send from the sky a sign that forces their necks to bow.
|
|
ان نشا ننزل عليهم من السماء اية فظلت اعناقهم لها خاضعين
|
|
If We want We descend on them from the sky an evidence/sign, so their necks continued/became to it bending/leaning.
|
|
|
|
In nasha\ nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssama-iayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum lahakhadiAAeena
|
|
5. * |
But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from ((Allah)) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.
|
|
Whenever a reminder from the Most Gracious comes to them, that is new, they turn away in aversion.
|
|
وماياتيهم من ذكر من الرحمن محدث الا كانوا عنه معرضين
|
|
And none from a reminder initiated/originated from the merciful comes to them except they were from it objecting/opposing.
|
|
|
|
Wamaya\teehim minthikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illakanoo AAanhu muAArideena
|
|
6. * |
They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at!
|
|
Since they disbelieved, they have incurred the consequences of their heedlessness.
|
|
فقد كذبوا فسياتيهم انباء ماكانوا به يستهزؤون
|
|
So they had lied/denied/falsified so (the) news/information (of) what they were with it mocking/making fun of, will come to them.
|
|
|
|
Faqad kaththaboo fasaya\teehim anbao makanoo bihi yastahzi-oona
|
|
7. * |
Do they not look at the earth,--how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?
|
|
Have they not seen the earth, and how many kinds of beautiful plants we have grown thereon?
|
|
اولم يروا الى الارض كم انبتنا فيها من كل زوج كريم
|
|
Do they not see to the earth/Planet Earth how many/much We sprouted/grew in it from every/each generous pair.
|
|
|
|
Awa lam yaraw ilaal-ardi kam anbatnafeehamin kulli zawjin kareemin
|
|
8. * |
Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
This should be a sufficient proof for them, but most of them are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
9. * |
And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that your Lord He is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
10. * |
Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,--
|
|
Recall that your Lord called Moses: "Go to the transgressing people.
|
|
واذ نادى ربك موسى ان ائت القوم الظالمين
|
|
And when Moses called/cried (to) your Lord that: "Come/bring the nation the unjust/oppressive."
|
|
|
|
Wa-ithnadarabbuka moosaani i\ti alqawma alththalimeena
|
|
11. * |
"The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah."
|
|
"Pharaoh's people; perhaps they reform."
|
|
قوم فرعون الا يتقون
|
|
Pharaoh's nation, do they not fear and obey?
|
|
|
|
Qawma firAAawna alayattaqoona
|
|
12. * |
He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:
|
|
He said, "My Lord, I fear lest they disbelieve me.
|
|
قال رب اني اخاف ان يكذبون
|
|
He said: "My Lord, that I, I fear that they deny me.
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbi innee akhafu an yukaththibooni
|
|
13. * |
"My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron.
|
|
"I may lose my temper. My tongue gets tied; send for my brother Aaron.
|
|
ويضيق صدري ولاينطلق لساني فارسل الى هارون
|
|
And my chest narrows/tightens and my tongue/speech does not speak/clarify, so send to Aaron.
|
|
|
|
Wayadeequsadree walayantaliqu lisanee faarsil ilaharoona
|
|
14. * |
"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."
|
|
"Also, they consider me a fugitive; I fear lest they kill me."
|
|
ولهم على ذنب فاخاف ان يقتلون
|
|
And for them on (against) me (is) a crime, so I fear that they kill me.
|
|
|
|
Walahum AAalayyathanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni
|
|
15. * |
Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).
|
|
He said, "No, (they will not). Go with My proofs. We will be with you, listening.
|
|
قال كلا فاذهبا باياتنا انا معكم مستمعون
|
|
He said: "No but, so you (B) go/go away with Our verses/evidences/signs, that We are with you hearing/listening."
|
|
|
|
Qala kallafaithhababi-ayatinainnamaAAakum mustamiAAoona
|
|
16. * |
"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;
|
|
"Go to Pharaoh and say, `We are messengers from the Lord of the universe.'
|
|
فاتيا فرعون فقولا انا رسولا رب العالمين
|
|
So you (B) come to Pharaoh, so say (B): 'That we are messenger(s) (of) the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.'
|
|
|
|
Fa\tiyafirAAawna faqoolainnarasoolu rabbi alAAalameena
|
|
17. * |
"'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'"
|
|
" `Let the Children of Israel go.' "
|
|
ان ارسل معنا بنى اسرائيل
|
|
'That send with us Israel's sons and daughters.'
|
|
|
|
An arsil maAAanabanee isra-eela
|
|
18. * |
(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?
|
|
He said, "Did we not raise you from infancy, and you spent many years with us?
|
|
قال الم نربك فينا وليدا ولبثت فينا من عمرك سنين
|
|
He said: "Did we not bring you up in (between) us (as) a child/new born, and you stayed/remained in (between) us years from your lifetime?"
|
|
|
|
Qala alam nurabbika feenawaleedan walabithta feenamin AAumurika sineena
|
|
19. * |
"And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"
|
|
"Then you committed the crime that you committed, and you were ungrateful."
|
|
وفعلت فعلتك التي فعلت وانت من الكافرين
|
|
And you made/did your one deed/act which you made/did, and you are from the disbelievers.
|
|
|
|
WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAalta waanta mina alkafireena
|
|
20. * |
Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
|
|
He said, "Indeed, I did it when I was astray.
|
|
قال فعلتها اذا وانا من الضالين
|
|
He said: "I made/did it then, and (while) I am from the misguided."
|
|
|
|
Qala faAAaltuhaithan waanamina alddalleena
|
|
21. * |
"So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the apostles.
|
|
"Then I fled, when I feared you, and my Lord endowed me with wisdom and made me one of the messengers.
|
|
ففررت منكم لما خفتكم فوهب لي ربي حكما وجعلني من المرسلين
|
|
So I escaped/fled from you when I feared you, so my Lord granted for me judgment/rule, and He made/put me from the messengers.
|
|
|
|
Fafarartu minkum lammakhiftukum fawahaba lee rabbeehukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena
|
|
22. * |
"And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,--that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!"
|
|
"You are boasting that you did me a favor, while enslaving the Children of Israel!"
|
|
وتلك نعمة تمنها على ان عبدت بني اسرائيل
|
|
And that is a blessing/goodness you brag/remind me repetitiously of, that you enslaved Israel's sons and daughters.
|
|
|
|
Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuhaAAalayya an AAabbadta banee isra-eela
|
|
23. * |
Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?"
|
|
Pharaoh said, "What is the Lord of the universe?"
|
|
قال فرعون وما رب العالمين
|
|
Pharaoh said: "And what (is) the creations all together's/(universes') Lord?"
|
|
|
|
Qala firAAawnu wamarabbu alAAalameena
|
|
24. * |
(Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,--if ye want to be quite sure."
|
|
He said, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. You should be certain about this."
|
|
قال رب السماوات والارض ومابينهما ان كنتم موقنين
|
|
He (Moses) said: "Lord (of) the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, and what (is) between them (B), if youwere sure/certain."
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbu alssamawati waal-ardi wamabaynahumain kuntum mooqineena
|
|
25. * |
(Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?"
|
|
He said to those around him, "Did you hear this?"
|
|
قال لمن حوله الا تستمعون
|
|
He (Pharaoh) said to whom (was) around/surrounding him: "Do you not hear/listen?"
|
|
|
|
Qala limanhawlahu alatastamiAAoona
|
|
26. * |
(Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!"
|
|
He said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors."
|
|
قال ربكم ورب ابائكم الاولين
|
|
He (Moses) said: "Your Lord, and your first/beginning father's/forefather's Lord."
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbukum warabbuaba-ikumu al-awwaleena
|
|
27. * |
(Pharaoh) said: "Truly your apostle who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!"
|
|
He said, "Your messenger who is sent to you is crazy."
|
|
قال ان رسولكم الذي ارسل اليكم لمجنون
|
|
He (Pharaoh) said: "That your messenger who was sent to you (is) mad/insane (E)."
|
|
|
|
Qala inna rasoolakumu allathee orsila ilaykum lamajnoonun
|
|
28. * |
(Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!"
|
|
He said, "The Lord of the east and the west, and everything between them, if you understand."
|
|
قال رب المشرق والمغرب ومابينهما ان كنتم تعقلون
|
|
He (Moses) said: "Lord (of) the sunrise/east and the sunset/west and what (is) between them (B) if you were reasoning/comprehending."
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi wamabaynahumain kuntum taAAqiloona
|
|
29. * |
(Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!"
|
|
He said, "If you accept any god, other than me, I will throw you in the prison."
|
|
قال لئن اتخذت الها غيري لاجعلنك من المسجونين
|
|
He (Pharaoh) said: "If (E) you took/received a god other than me, I will make you (E) from the imprisoned/prisoners."
|
|
|
|
Qala la-ini ittakhathta ilahan ghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneena
|
|
30. * |
(Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?"
|
|
He said, "What if I show you something profound?"
|
|
قال اولو جئتك بشئ مبين
|
|
He (Moses) said: "Even if I came to you with a clear/evident thing."
|
|
|
|
Qala awa law ji\tuka bishay-in mubeenin
|
|
31. * |
(Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!"
|
|
He said, "Then produce it, if you are truthful."
|
|
قال فات به ان كنت من الصادقين
|
|
He (Pharaoh) said: "So come/bring with it if you were from the truthful."
|
|
|
|
Qala fa\ti bihi in kunta mina alssadiqeena
|
|
32. * |
So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
|
|
He then threw his staff, whereupon it became a profound snake.
|
|
فالقى عصاه فاذا هي ثعبان مبين
|
|
So he threw/threw away his stick/cane, so then it is (a) clear/evident snake.
|
|
|
|
FaalqaAAasahu fa-ithahiya thuAAbanun mubeenun
|
|
33. * |
And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!
|
|
And he took out his hand, and it was white to the beholders.
|
|
ونزع يده فاذا هي بيضاء للناظرين
|
|
And he removed/pulled his hand so then it is white to the lookers/seers.
|
|
|
|
WanazaAAa yadahu fa-ithahiya baydao lilnnathireena
|
|
34. * |
(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well- versed:
|
|
He said to the elders around him, "This is an experienced magician.
|
|
قال للملا حوله ان هذا لساحر عليم
|
|
He said to the nobles/assembly around/surrounding him, that, that (is) a knowledgeable magician/sorcerer (E):
|
|
|
|
Qala lilmala-ihawlahu inna hathalasahirun AAaleemun
|
|
35. * |
"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"
|
|
"He wants to take you out of your land, with his magic. What do you suggest?"
|
|
يريد ان يخرجكم من ارضكم بسحره فماذا تامرون
|
|
He wants/intends that he brings you out from your land with his magic/sorcery, so what (do) you order/command?
|
|
|
|
Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famathata\muroona
|
|
36. * |
They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect-
|
|
They said, "Respite him and his brother, and send summoners to every town.
|
|
قالوا ارجه واخاه وابعث في المدائن حاشرين
|
|
They said: "Delay/postpone him and his brother and send in the villages/urban cities gatherers."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almada-inihashireena
|
|
37. * |
"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed."
|
|
"Let them summon every experienced magician."
|
|
ياتوك بكل سحار عليم
|
|
They come to you with every knowledgeable magician/sorcerer.
|
|
|
|
Ya\tooka bikulli sahharin AAaleemin
|
|
38. * |
So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known,
|
|
The magicians were gathered at the appointed time, on the appointed day.
|
|
فجمع السحرة لميقات يوم معلوم
|
|
So the magicians/sorcerers were gathered/collected to a known appointed place day/time.
|
|
|
|
FajumiAAa alssaharatu limeeqati yawmin maAAloomin
|
|
39. * |
And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?--
|
|
The people were told: "Come one and all; let us gather together here.
|
|
وقيل للناس هل انتم مجتمعون
|
|
And (it) was said to the people: "Are you gathering/uniting?
|
|
|
|
Waqeela lilnnasi hal antum mujtamiAAoona
|
|
40. * |
"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?"
|
|
"Maybe we will follow the magicians, if they are the winners."
|
|
لعلنا نتبع السحرة ان كانوا هم الغالبين
|
|
Maybe/perhaps we follow the magicians/sorcerers, if they, they were, the defeaters.
|
|
|
|
LaAAallananattabiAAu alssaharata in kanoo humu alghalibeena
|
|
41. * |
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course--shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
|
|
When the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh, "Do we get paid, if we are the winners?"
|
|
فلما جاء السحرة قالوا لفرعون ائن لنا لاجرا ان كنا نحن الغالبين
|
|
So when the magicians/sorcerers came, they said to Pharaoh: "Is for us a reward/wage/fee (E) if we, we were the defeaters ?"
|
|
|
|
Falammajaa alssaharatu qaloo lifirAAawna a-inna lanalaajran in kunnanahnu alghalibeena
|
|
42. * |
He said: "Yea, (and more),--for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."
|
|
He said, "Yes indeed; you will even be close to me."
|
|
قال نعم وانكم اذا لمن المقربين
|
|
He said: "Yes and you are then from (E) the neared/closer."
|
|
|
|
Qala naAAam wa-innakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena
|
|
43. * |
Moses said to them: "Throw ye--that which ye are about to throw!"
|
|
Moses said to them "Throw what you are going to throw."
|
|
قال لهم موسى القوا ماانتم ملقون
|
|
Moses said to them: "Throw/throw away what you are throwing/throwing away."
|
|
|
|
Qala lahum moosaalqoo maantum mulqoona
|
|
44. * |
So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!"
|
|
They threw their ropes and sticks, and said, "By Pharaoh's majesty, we will be the victors."
|
|
فالقوا حبالهم وعصيهم وقالوا بعزة فرعون انا لنحن الغالبون
|
|
So they threw/threw away their ropes/ties and their sticks/canes, and they said: "With Pharaoh's glory/might,that we, we are the defeaters."
|
|
|
|
Faalqawhibalahum waAAisiyyahum waqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna innalanahnu alghaliboona
|
|
45. * |
Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!
|
|
Moses threw his staff, whereupon it swallowed what they fabricated.
|
|
فالقى موسى عصاه فاذا هي تلقف مايافكون
|
|
So Moses threw/threw away his stick/cane, so then it snatches/swallows quickly what they lie/falsify.
|
|
|
|
FaalqamoosaAAasahu fa-ithahiya talqafu maya\fikoona
|
|
46. * |
Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,
|
|
The magicians fell prostrate.
|
|
فالقى السحرة ساجدين
|
|
So the magicians/sorcerers were thrown/thrown away prostrating.
|
|
|
|
Faolqiya alssaharatu sajideena
|
|
47. * |
Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
|
|
They said, "We believe in the Lord of the universe.
|
|
قالوا امنا برب العالمين
|
|
They said: "We believed with the creations all together's/(universes') Lord."
|
|
|
|
Qalooamannabirabbi alAAalameena
|
|
48. * |
"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
|
|
"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
|
|
رب موسى وهارون
|
|
Moses' Lord and Aaron's.
|
|
|
|
Rabbi moosawaharoona
|
|
49. * |
Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know!
|
|
He said, "Did you believe with him before I give you permission? He must be your teacher, who taught you magic. You will surely find out. I will sever your hands and feet on alternate sides. I will crucify you all."
|
|
قال امنتم له قبل ان اذن لكم انه لكبيركم الذي علمكم السحر فلسوف تعلمون لاقطعن ايديكم وارجلكم من خلاف ولاصلبنكم اجمعين
|
|
He said: "You believed to him before that I permit/allow for you, that he truly is your greatest/teacher and leader (E) who taught/instructed you the magic/sorcery, so you will/shall (E) know I will cut off/sever (E) your hands and your feet from opposites (sides), and I will crucify you/place you on crosses (E) all/all together."
|
|
|
|
Qalaamantum lahu qabla anathana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeena
|
|
50. * |
"Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross!"
|
|
They said, "This will not change our decision; to our Lord we will return.
|
|
قالوا لاضير انا الى ربنا منقلبون
|
|
They said: "No harm/pain, that we to our Lord are returning."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo ladayra innailarabbinamunqaliboona
|
|
51. * |
They said: "No matter! for us, we shall but return to our Lord!
|
|
"We hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, especially that we are the first believers."
|
|
انا نطمع ان يغفر لنا ربنا خطايانا ان كنا اول المؤمنين
|
|
That we wish/hope/covet that our Lord forgives for us our sins/mistakes, that we were first (of)259the believers.
|
|
|
|
InnanatmaAAu an yaghfira lanarabbunakhatayanaan kunnaawwala almu\mineena
|
|
52. * |
"Only, our desire is that our Lord will forgive us our faults, that we may become foremost among the believers!"
|
|
We inspired Moses: "Travel with My servants; you will be pursued."
|
|
واوحينا الى موسى ان اسر بعبادي انكم متبعون
|
|
And We inspired/transmitted to Moses that: "Travel/depart at night with My worshippers/slaves, that you are being followed."
|
|
|
|
Waawhaynailamoosaan asri biAAibadee innakum muttabaAAoona
|
|
53. * |
By inspiration we told Moses: "Travel by night with my servants; for surely ye shall be pursued."
|
|
Pharaoh sent to the cities callers.
|
|
فارسل فرعون في المدائن حاشرين
|
|
So Pharaoh sent in the cities/towns gatherers (who said):
|
|
|
|
Faarsala firAAawnu fee almada-inihashireena
|
|
54. * |
Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities,
|
|
(Proclaiming,) "This is a small gang.
|
|
ان هؤلاء لشرذمة قليلون
|
|
That, those (are) a small group/portion (E) few/little.
|
|
|
|
Inna haola-i lashirthimatun qaleeloona
|
|
55. * |
(Saying): "These (Israelites) are but a small band,
|
|
"They are now opposing us.
|
|
وانهم لنا لغائظون
|
|
And that they truly are for us angering/enraging (E).
|
|
|
|
Wa-innahum lanalagha-ithoona
|
|
56. * |
"And they are raging furiously against us;
|
|
"Let us all beware of them."
|
|
وانا لجميع حاذرون
|
|
And that we (E) (are) all together (E) cautious.
|
|
|
|
Wa-innalajameeAAunhathiroona
|
|
57. * |
"But we are a multitude amply fore-warned."
|
|
Consequently, we deprived them of gardens and springs.
|
|
فاخرجناهم من جنات وعيون
|
|
So We brought them out from treed gardens/paradises and water springs/wells.
|
|
|
|
Faakhrajnahum min jannatin waAAuyoonin
|
|
58. * |
So We expelled them from gardens, springs,
|
|
And treasures and an honorable position.
|
|
وكنوز ومقام كريم
|
|
And treasures/buried treasures and (an) honoured/generous position/status.
|
|
|
|
Wakunoozin wamaqamin kareemin
|
|
59. * |
Treasures, and every kind of honourable position;
|
|
Then we made it an inheritance for the Children of Israel.
|
|
كذلك اورثناها بني اسرائيل
|
|
As/like that, and We made it be inherited (to) Israel's sons and daughters.
|
|
|
|
Kathalika waawrathnahabanee isra-eela
|
|
60. * |
Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things.
|
|
They pursued them towards the east.
|
|
فاتبعوهم مشرقين
|
|
So they followed them at sunrise.
|
|
|
|
FaatbaAAoohum mushriqeena
|
|
61. * |
So they pursued them at sunrise.
|
|
When both parties saw each other, Moses' people said, "We will be caught."

فلما تراء الجمعان قال اصحاب موسى انا لمدركون
|
|
So when the two groups/gatherings saw each other, Moses' friends/company said: "That we are being caught up/overtaken (E)."
|
|
|
|
Falammataraa aljamAAani qala as-habu moosainnalamudrakoona
|
|
62. * |
And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken."
|
|
He said, "No way. My Lord is with me; He will guide me."
|
|
قال كلا ان معي ربي سيهدين
|
|
He said: "No but that truly with me (is) my Lord, He will guide me."
|
|
|
|
Qala kallainna maAAiya rabbee sayahdeeni
|
|
63. * |
(Moses) said: "By no means! my Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!"
|
|
We then inspired Moses: "Strike the sea with your staff," whereupon it parted. Each part was like a great hill.
|
|
فاوحينا الى موسى ان اضرب بعصاك البحر فانفلق فكان كل فرق كالطود العظيم
|
|
So We inspired/transmitted to Moses that: "Beat/strike/move with your stick/cane the sea/large body of water." So it broke in half/split open/cracked, so every/each part/piece was as the huge mountain, the great.
|
|
|
|
Faawhaynailamoosaani idrib biAAasaka albahra fainfalaqa fakana kullu firqin kaalttawdi alAAatheemi
|
|
64. * |
Then We told Moses by inspiration: "Strike the sea with thy rod." So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.
|
|
We then delivered them all.
|
|
وازلفنا ثم الاخرين
|
|
And We advanced/brought near the others/lasts there at the same time or place (We made them almost catch up).
|
|
|
|
Waazlafnathamma al-akhareena
|
|
65. * |
And We made the other party approach thither.
|
|
We thus saved Moses and all those who were with him.
|
|
وانجينا موسى ومن معه اجمعين
|
|
And We saved/rescued Moses and who (is) with him all/all together.
|
|
|
|
Waanjaynamoosawaman maAAahu ajmaAAeena
|
|
66. * |
We delivered Moses and all who were with him;
|
|
And we drowned the others.
|
|
ثم اغرقنا الاخرين
|
|
Then We drowned/sunk the others.
|
|
|
|
Thumma aghraqnaal-akhareena
|
|
67. * |
But We drowned the others.
|
|
This should be a sufficient proof, but most people are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
68. * |
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that your Lord He is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
69. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Narrate to them Abraham's history.
|
|
واتل عليهم نبا ابراهيم
|
|
And read/recite on (to) them Abraham's information/news.
|
|
|
|
Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa ibraheema
|
|
70. * |
And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story.
|
|
He said to his father and his people, "What is this you are worshiping?"
|
|
اذ قال لابيه وقومه ماتعبدون
|
|
When He said to his father and his nation: "What (do) you worship?"
|
|
|
|
Ithqala li-abeehi waqawmihi mataAAbudoona
|
|
71. * |
Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?"
|
|
They said, "We worship statues; we are totally devoted to them."
|
|
قالوا نعبد اصناما فنظل لها عاكفين
|
|
They said: "We worship idols/statues so we continue/remain to it devoting/dedicating."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo naAAbudu asnaman fanathallu lahaAAakifeena
|
|
72. * |
They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them."
|
|
He said, "Can they hear you when you implore?
|
|
قل هل يسمعونكم اذ تدعون
|
|
He said: "Do they hear/listen to you when/if you call?"
|
|
|
|
Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ithtadAAoona
|
|
73. * |
He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them), or do you good or harm?"
|
|
"Can they benefit you, or harm you?"
|
|
او ينفعونكم او يضرون
|
|
Or they benefit you or they harm?
|
|
|
|
Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroona
|
|
74. * |
They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)."
|
|
They said, "No; but we found our parents doing this."
|
|
قالوا بل وجدنا اباءنا كذلك يفعلون
|
|
They said: "But we found our fathers as/like that they make/do."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo bal wajadnaabaanakathalika yafAAaloona
|
|
75. * |
He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,--
|
|
He said, "Do you see these idols that you worship.
|
|
قال افرءيتم ماكنتم تعبدون
|
|
He said: "Did you see/understand what you were worshipping?"
|
|
|
|
Qala afaraaytum makuntum taAAbudoona
|
|
76. * |
"Ye and your fathers before you?--
|
|
"You and your ancestors.
|
|
انتم واباؤكم الاقدمون
|
|
You and your fathers/forefathers the eldest/old/ancient.
|
|
|
|
Antum waabaokumu al-aqdamoona
|
|
77. * |
"For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds;
|
|
"I am against them, for I am devoted only to the Lord of the universe.
|
|
فانهم عدو لي الا رب العالمين
|
|
So they truly are an enemy to me except the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.
|
|
|
|
Fa-innahum AAaduwwun lee illarabba alAAalameena
|
|
78. * |
"Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;
|
|
"The One who created me, and guided me.
|
|
الذي خلقني فهو يهدين
|
|
Who created me, so He guides me.
|
|
|
|
Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeeni
|
|
79. * |
"Who gives me food and drink,
|
|
"The One who feeds me and waters me.
|
|
والذي هو يطعمني ويسقين
|
|
And who He feeds me and He gives me drink.
|
|
|
|
Waallathee huwa yutAAimunee wayasqeeni
|
|
80. * |
"And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me;
|
|
"And when I get sick, He heals me.
|
|
واذا مرضت فهو يشفين
|
|
And if I became sick/diseased, so He cures/heals me.
|
|
|
|
Wa-ithamaridtu fahuwa yashfeeni
|
|
81. * |
"Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again);
|
|
"The One who puts me to death, then brings me back to life.
|
|
والذي يميتني ثم يحيين
|
|
And who makes me die, then revives/makes me alive.
|
|
|
|
Waallathee yumeetunee thumma yuhyeeni
|
|
82. * |
"And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment.
|
|
"The One who hopefully will forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment.
|
|
والذي اطمع ان يغفر لي خطيئتي يوم الدين
|
|
And who I wish/hope/covet that He forgives for me my sin/wrong (on) the Judgment's Day/Resurrection260Day.
|
|
|
|
Waallathee atmaAAu an yaghfira lee khatee-atee yawma alddeeni
|
|
83. * |
"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;
|
|
"My Lord, grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.
|
|
رب هب لي حكما والحقني بالصالحين
|
|
My Lord, grant/present for me judgment/rule and make me catch up/join with the correct/righteous.
|
|
|
|
Rabbi hab leehukman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena
|
|
84. * |
"Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);
|
|
"Let the example I set for the future generations be a good one.
|
|
واجعل لي لسان صدق في الاخرين
|
|
And make/put for me (a) truth's tongue/speech in the ends/lasts/others.
|
|
|
|
WaijAAal lee lisanasidqin fee al-akhireena
|
|
85. * |
"Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;
|
|
"Make me one of the inheritors of the blissful Paradise.
|
|
واجعلني من ورثة جنة النعيم
|
|
And make/put me from the blessing's/comfort and eases' treed garden's/paradise's heirs.
|
|
|
|
WaijAAalnee min warathati jannati alnnaAAeemi
|
|
86. * |
"Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;
|
|
"And forgive my father, for he has gone astray.
|
|
واغفر لابي انه كان من الضالين
|
|
And forgive to my father, that he truly was from the misguided.
|
|
|
|
Waighfir li-abee innahu kana mina alddalleena
|
|
87. * |
"And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;-
|
|
"And do not forsake me on the Day of Resurrection."
|
|
ولاتخزني يوم يبعثون
|
|
And do not shame/disgrace me (on) a day/time they are being resurrected/revived.
|
|
|
|
Walatukhzinee yawma yubAAathoona
|
|
88. * |
"The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
|
|
That is the day when neither money, nor children, can help.
|
|
يوم لاينفع مال ولابنون
|
|
A day/time property/possession and nor sons/sons and daughters do not benefit.
|
|
|
|
Yawma layanfaAAu malun walabanoona
|
|
89. * |
"But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart;
|
|
Only those who come to GOD with their whole heart (will be saved).
|
|
الا من اتى الله بقلب سليم
|
|
Except who came (to) God with a sound/safe (clear) heart/mind.
|
|
|
|
Illaman ataAllaha biqalbin saleemin
|
|
90. * |
"To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near,
|
|
Paradise will be presented to the righteous.
|
|
وازلفت الجنة للمتقين
|
|
And paradise was advanced/brought near to the fearing and obeying.
|
|
|
|
Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena
|
|
91. * |
"And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view;
|
|
Hell will be set up for the strayers.
|
|
وبرزت الجحيم للغاوين
|
|
And the Hell/place of intense heat was made to emerge for the misguided/lured.
|
|
|
|
Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaweena
|
|
92. * |
"And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped-
|
|
They will be asked, "Where are the idols you had worshiped
|
|
وقيل لهم اين ماكنتم تعبدون
|
|
And (it) was said to them: "Where (is) what you were worshipping?"
|
|
|
|
Waqeela lahum ayna makuntum taAAbudoona
|
|
93. * |
"'Besides Allah. Can they help you or help themselves?'
|
|
"beside GOD? Can they help you now? Can they help themselves?"
|
|
من دون الله هل ينصرونكم او ينتصرون
|
|
From other than God? Do they give you victory/aid or they become victorious?
|
|
|
|
Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroona
|
|
94. * |
"Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),--they and those straying in Evil,
|
|
They will be thrown therein, together with the strayers.
|
|
فكبكبوا فيها هم والغاوون
|
|
So they were thrown down in it, they and the enticing.
|
|
|
|
Fakubkiboo feehahum waalghawoona
|
|
95. * |
"And the whole hosts of Iblis together.
|
|
And all of Satan's soldiers.
|
|
وجنود ابليس اجمعون
|
|
And Satan's soldiers/warriors all/all together.
|
|
|
|
Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoona
|
|
96. * |
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings:
|
|
They will say as they feud therein,
|
|
قالوا وهم فيها يختصمون
|
|
They said and (while) they are in it disputing/arguing :
|
|
|
|
Qaloo wahum feehayakhtasimoona
|
|
97. * |
"'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest,
|
|
"By GOD, we were far astray.
|
|
تالله ان كنا لفي ضلال مبين
|
|
By God, that truly we were in clear/evident misguidance.
|
|
|
|
TaAllahi in kunnalafeedalalin mubeenin
|
|
98. * |
"'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds;
|
|
"How could we set you up to rank with the Lord of the universe?
|
|
اذ نسويكم برب العالمين
|
|
When/if we make you equal with the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.
|
|
|
|
Ithnusawweekum birabbi alAAalameena
|
|
99. * |
"'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt.
|
|
"Those who misled us were wicked.
|
|
ومااضلنا الا المجرمون
|
|
And none except the criminals/sinners misguided us.
|
|
|
|
Wamaadallanaillaalmujrimoona
|
|
100. * |
"'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us),
|
|
"Now we have no intercessors.
|
|
فمالنا من شافعين
|
|
So (there are) none for us from mediators.
|
|
|
|
Famalanamin shafiAAeena
|
|
101. * |
"'Nor a single friend to feel (for us).
|
|
"Nor a single close friend.
|
|
ولاصديق حميم
|
|
And nor a concerned friend.
|
|
|
|
Walasadeeqinhameemin
|
|
102. * |
"'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'"
|
|
"If only we could get another chance, we would then believe."
|
|
فلو ان لنا كرة فنكون من المؤمنين
|
|
And if that (E) (there were) for us a return/repetition so we be/become from the believers.
|
|
|
|
Falaw anna lanakarratan fanakoona mina almu\mineena
|
|
103. * |
Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe.
|
|
This should be a good lesson. But most people are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That truly in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
104. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that truly your Lord, He is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
105. * |
The people of Noah rejected the apostles.
|
|
The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.
|
|
كذبت قوم نوح المرسلين
|
|
Noah's nation denied the messengers.
|
|
|
|
Kaththabat qawmu noohin almursaleena
|
|
106. * |
Behold, their brother Noah said to them: "Will ye not fear ((Allah))?
|
|
Their brother Noah said to them, "Would you not be righteous?
|
|
اذ قال لهم اخوهم نوح الا تتقون
|
|
When their brother Noah, said to them: "Do you not fear and obey?
|
|
|
|
Ithqala lahum akhoohum noohun alatattaqoona
|
|
107. * |
"I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust:
|
|
"I am an honest messenger to you.
|
|
اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
That I am for you a faithful messenger.
|
|
|
|
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
|
|
108. * |
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD and obey me.
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God, and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
109. * |
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds:
|
|
"I do not ask you for any wage. My wage comes from the Lord of the universe.
|
|
ومااسألكم عليه من اجر ان اجري الا على رب العالمين
|
|
And I do not ask/beg you on it from a wage/fee/reward, that truly my wage/reward (is) except on the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.
|
|
|
|
Wamaas-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illaAAalarabbi alAAalameena
|
|
110. * |
"So fear Allah, and obey me."
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD and obey me."
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
111. * |
They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?"
|
|
They said, "How can we believe with you, when the worst among us have followed you?"
|
|
قالوا انومن لك واتبعك الارذلون
|
|
They said: "Do we believe to you, and the mean/low/despised followed you?"
|
|
|
|
Qaloo anu\minu laka waittabaAAaka al-arthaloona
|
|
112. * |
He said: "And what do I know as to what they do?
|
|
He said, "How do I know what they did?
|
|
قال وماعلمي بماكانوا يعملون
|
|
He said: "And what is my knowledge with what they were making/doing ?"
|
|
|
|
Qala wamaAAilmee bimakanoo yaAAmaloona
|
|
113. * |
"Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand.
|
|
"Their judgment rests only with my Lord, if you could perceive.
|
|
ان حسابهم الا على ربي لو تشعرون
|
|
That truly their account/calculation (is) except on my Lord, if you feel/know/sense.
|
|
|
|
Inhisabuhum illaAAalarabbee law tashAAuroona
|
|
114. * |
"I am not one to drive away those who believe.
|
|
"I will never dismiss the believers.
|
|
وماانا بطارد المؤمنين
|
|
And I am not with expelling/forcing out the believers.
|
|
|
|
Wamaanabitaridi almu\mineena
|
|
115. * |
"I am sent only to warn plainly in public."
|
|
"I am no more than a clarifying warner."
|
|
ان انا الا نذير مبين
|
|
That I am except a clear/evident warner/giver of notice.
|
|
|
|
In anaillanatheerun mubeenun
|
|
116. * |
They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)."
|
|
They said, "Unless you refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned."
|
|
قالوا لئن لم تنته يانوح لتكونن من المرجومين
|
|
They said: "If (E) you do not end/terminate/stop, you Noah, you will be/become (E) from the stoned."261
|
|
|
|
Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yanoohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeena
|
|
117. * |
He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me.
|
|
He said, "My Lord, my people have disbelieved me.
|
|
قال رب ان قومي كذبون
|
|
He said: "My Lord, that truly my nation denied me."
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththabooni
|
|
118. * |
"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."
|
|
"Grant me victory against them, and deliver me and my company of believers."
|
|
فافتح بيني وبينهم فتحا ونجني ومن معي من المؤمنين
|
|
So judge/open between me and between them (between me and them) an opening/victory, and save/rescue me and who (is) with me from the believers.
|
|
|
|
Faiftahbaynee wabaynahum fathan wanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almu\mineena
|
|
119. * |
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures).
|
|
We delivered him and those who accompanied him in the loaded ark.
|
|
فانجيناه ومن معه في الفلك المشحون
|
|
So We saved/rescued him and who (was) with him in the ship/ships, the full/loaded.
|
|
|
|
Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki almashhooni
|
|
120. * |
Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind.
|
|
Then we drowned the others.
|
|
ثم اغرقنا بعد الباقين
|
|
Then We drowned/sunk after (that) the remainders.
|
|
|
|
Thumma aghraqnabaAAdu albaqeena
|
|
121. * |
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
122. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that truly your Lord, he is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
123. * |
The 'Ad (people) rejected the apostles.
|
|
`Aad disbelieved the messengers.
|
|
كذبت عاد المرسلين
|
|
Aad denied the messengers."
|
|
|
|
Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena
|
|
124. * |
Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear ((Allah))?
|
|
Their brother Hood said to them, "Would you not be righteous?
|
|
اذ قال لهم اخوهم هود الا تتقون
|
|
When/if their brother Hood said to them: "Do you not fear and obey?"
|
|
|
|
Ithqala lahum akhoohum hoodun alatattaqoona
|
|
125. * |
"I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust:
|
|
"I am an honest messenger to you.
|
|
اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
That I am for you a faithful messenger.
|
|
|
|
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
|
|
126. * |
"So fear Allah and obey me.
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD, and obey me.
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
127. * |
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
|
|
"I do not ask you for any wage; my wage comes from the Lord of the universe.
|
|
ومااسألكم عليه من اجر ان اجري الا على رب العالمين
|
|
And I do not ask/beg you on it from a wage/fee/reward, that truly my wage/reward (is) except on the creations all together's/(universe's) Lord.
|
|
|
|
Wamaas-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illaAAalarabbi alAAalameena
|
|
128. * |
"Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?
|
|
"You build on every hill a mansion for vanity's sake.
|
|
اتبنون بكل ريع اية تعبثون
|
|
Do you build/construct at every/each high hill an evidence, something useless in vanity ?"
|
|
|
|
Atabnoona bikulli reeAAinayatan taAAbathoona
|
|
129. * |
"And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)?
|
|
"You set up buildings as if you last forever.
|
|
وتتخذون مصانع لعلكم تخلدون
|
|
And you take factories, maybe/perhaps you be immortal/eternal ?
|
|
|
|
Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona
|
|
130. * |
"And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power?
|
|
"And when you strike, you strike mercilessly.
|
|
واذا بطشتم بطشتم جبارين
|
|
And if you destroyed/attacked violently, you destroyed/attacked violently (as) tyrants/rebels ?
|
|
|
|
Wa-ithabatashtum batashtum jabbareena
|
|
131. * |
"Now fear Allah, and obey me.
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD and obey me.
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
132. * |
"Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know.
|
|
"Reverence the One who provided you with all the things you know.
|
|
واتقوا الذي امدكم بما تعلمون
|
|
And fear and obey who extended/spread you with what you know.
|
|
|
|
Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bimataAAlamoona
|
|
133. * |
"Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,--
|
|
"He provided you with livestock and children.
|
|
امدكم بانعام وبنين
|
|
He extended/spread you with camels/livestock and sons/sons and daughters.
|
|
|
|
Amaddakum bi-anAAamin wabaneena
|
|
134. * |
"And Gardens and Springs.
|
|
"And gardens and springs.
|
|
وجنات وعيون
|
|
And treed gardens/paradises and water springs/wells.
|
|
|
|
Wajannatin waAAuyoonin
|
|
135. * |
"Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."
|
|
"I fear for you the retribution of an awesome day."
|
|
اني اخاف عليكم عذاب يوم عظيم
|
|
That I fear on (for) you a great day's' torture.
|
|
|
|
Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin

They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers!
|
|
They said, "It is the same whether you preach, or do not preach.
|
|
قالوا سواء علينا اوعظت ام لم تكن من الواعظين
|
|
They said: "(It is) equal/alike on (to) us, had you preached/advised, or you did not be from the preachers/advisers."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo sawaon AAalaynaawaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena
|
|
137. * |
"This is no other than a customary device of the ancients,
|
|
"That affliction was limited to our ancestors.
|
|
ان هذا الا خلق الاولين
|
|
That truly that (is) except the first's/beginner's nature/character.
|
|
|
|
In hathaillakhuluqu al-awwaleena
|
|
138. * |
"And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"
|
|
"No retribution will ever befall us."
|
|
ومانحن بمعذبين
|
|
And we are not with being tortured.
|
|
|
|
Wamanahnu bimuAAaththabeena
|
|
139. * |
So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
They thus disbelieved and, consequently, we annihilated them. This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.
|
|
فكذبوه فاهلكناهم ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
So they denied him, so We made them die/destroyed them, that truly in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
140. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that truly your Lord He is (E), the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
141. * |
The Thamud (people) rejected the apostles.
|
|
Thamoud disbelieved the messengers.
|
|
كذبت ثمود المرسلين
|
|
Thamud denied the messengers.
|
|
|
|
Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleena
|
|
142. * |
Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear ((Allah))?
|
|
Their brother Saaleh said to them, "Would you not be righteous?
|
|
اذ قال لهم اخوهم صالح الا تتقون
|
|
When/if their brother Saleh said to them: "Do you not fear and obey?"
|
|
|
|
Ithqala lahum akhoohumsalihun alatattaqoona
|
|
143. * |
"I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust.
|
|
"I am an honest messenger to you.
|
|
اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
That I am for you a faithful messenger.
|
|
|
|
Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
|
|
144. * |
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD, and obey me.
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
145. * |
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
|
|
"I do not ask you for any wage; my wage comes only from the Lord of the universe.
|
|
ومااسألكم عليه من اجر ان اجري الا على رب العالمين
|
|
And I do not ask/beg you on it from a wage/fee/reward, that truly my wage/reward (is) except on the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.
|
|
|
|
Wamaas-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illaAAalarabbi alAAalameena
|
|
146. * |
"Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?--
|
|
"Do you suppose you will be left forever, secure in this state?
|
|
اتتركون في ماهاهنا امنين
|
|
Are you going to be left in what (is) here here safe/secure ?
|
|
|
|
Atutrakoona fee mahahunaamineena
|
|
147. * |
"Gardens and Springs,
|
|
"You enjoy gardens and springs.
|
|
في جنات وعيون
|
|
In treed gardens/paradises and water springs/wells.262
|
|
|
|
Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
|
|
148. * |
"And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)?
|
|
"And crops and date palms with delicious fruits.
|
|
وزروع ونخل طلعها هضيم
|
|
And plants/crops and palm trees, its first fruit of the season (is) slender/digestible (fine).
|
|
|
|
WazurooAAin wanakhlintalAAuhahadeemun
|
|
149. * |
"And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
|
|
"You carve out of the mountains luxurious mansions.
|
|
وتنحتون من الجبال بيوتا فارهين
|
|
And you actively/cleverly carve out from the mountains houses/homes.
|
|
|
|
Watanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan fariheena
|
|
150. * |
"But fear Allah and obey me;
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD, and obey me.
|
|
فاتقوا الله واطيعون
|
|
So fear and obey God and obey me.
|
|
|
|
Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
|
|
151. * |
"And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,--
|
|
"Do not obey the transgressors.
|
|
ولاتطيعوا امر المسرفين
|
|
And do not obey the spoilers'/extravagators' order/command/matter/affair.
|
|
|
|
WalatuteeAAoo amra almusrifeena
|
|
152. * |
"Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)."
|
|
"Who commit evil, not good works."
|
|
الذين يفسدون في الارض ولايصلحون
|
|
Those who corrupt/disorder in the earth/Planet Earth, and they do not correct/repair.
|
|
|
|
Allatheena yufsidoona fee al-ardi walayuslihoona
|
|
153. * |
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
|
|
They said, "You are bewitched.
|
|
قالوا انما انت من المسحرين
|
|
They said: "Truly/but you are from the bewitched/enchanted."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo innamaanta mina almusahhareena
|
|
154. * |
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
|
|
"You are no more than a human like us. Produce a miracle, if you are truthful."
|
|
ماانت الا بشر مثلنا فات باية ان كنت من الصادقين
|
|
You are not except (a) human equal/alike to us, so come/bring with an evidence/sign/verse if you were from the truthful.
|
|
|
|
Maanta illabasharun mithlunafa\ti bi-ayatin in kunta mina alssadiqeena
|
|
155. * |
He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed.
|
|
He said, "Here is a camel that will drink only on a day that is assigned to her; a day that is different from your specified days of drinking.
|
|
قال هذه ناقة لها شرب ولكم شرب يوم معلوم
|
|
He said: "This is a female camel, for it (is) a share of water/drink, and for you a known day's/time's share of water/drink."
|
|
|
|
Qala hathihi naqatun lahashirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloomin
|
|
156. * |
"Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
|
|
"Do not touch her with any harm, lest you incur retribution on an awesome day."
|
|
ولاتمسوها بسوء فياخذكم عذاب يوم عظيم
|
|
And do not touch it with harm/evil (then) a great day's torture takes/punishes you.
|
|
|
|
Walatamassoohabisoo-in faya\khuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheemin
|
|
157. * |
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
|
|
They slaughtered her, and thus incurred sorrow.
|
|
فعقروها فاصبحوا نادمين
|
|
So they wounded it/slaughtered it/made it infertile, so they became/became in the morning regretful/remorseful.
|
|
|
|
FaAAaqaroohafaasbahoo nadimeena
|
|
158. * |
But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
The retribution overwhelmed them. This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.
|
|
فاخذهم العذاب ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
So the torture punished/took them, that in that (is) an evidence/sign (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Faakhathahumu alAAathabu inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
159. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that truly your Lord He is (E), the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
160. * |
The people of Lut rejected the apostles.
|
|
The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.
|
|
كذبت قوم لوط المرسلين
|
|
Lot's nation denied the messengers.
|
|
|
|
Kaththabat qawmu lootin almursaleena
|
|
161. * |
Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear ((Allah))?
|
|
Their brother Lot said to them, "Would you not be righteous?
|
|
اذ قال لهم اخوهم لوط الا تتقون
|
|
When their brother, Lot, said to them: "Do you not fear and obey?"
|
|
|
|
Ithqala lahum akhoohum lootun alatattaqoona
|
|
162. * |
"I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust.
|
|
"I am an honest messenger to you.
|
|
اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
That I am for you a faithful messenger.
|
|
|
|

|

"So fear Allah and obey me.
|
|

|

And I do not ask/beg you on it from a wage/fee/reward, that truly my wage/reward (is) except on the creations all together's/(universe's) Lord.

Wamaas-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illaAAalarabbi alAAalameena
|
|
165. * |
"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males,
|
|
"Do you have sex with the males, of all the people?
|
|
اتاتون الذكران من العالمين
|
|
Do you come/commit (sexually to) the males from the creations all together/(universes)?
|
|
|
|
Ata\toona alththukrana mina alAAalameena
|
|
166. * |
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"
|
|
"You forsake the wives that your Lord has created for you! Indeed, you are transgressing people."
|
|
وتذرون ماخلق لكم ربكم من ازواجكم بل انتم قوم عادون
|
|
And you leave what your Lord created for you from your wives/spouses, but/rather, you are a nation transgressing/violating.
|
|
|
|
Watatharoona makhalaqa lakum rabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoona
|
|
167. * |
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!"
|
|
They said, "Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be banished."
|
|
قالوا لئن لم تنته يالوط لتكونن من المخرجين
|
|
They said: "If (E) you do not end/terminate/stop, you Lot, you will be/become (E) from the brought/driven out."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yalootu latakoonanna mina almukhrajeena
|
|
168. * |
He said: "I do detest your doings."
|
|
He said, "I deplore your actions."
|
|
قال اني لعملكم من القالين
|
|
He said: "That I am to your deed from the hating."
|
|
|
|
Qala innee liAAamalikum mina alqaleena
|
|
169. * |
"O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!"
|
|
"My Lord, save me and my family from their works."
|
|
رب نجني واهلي مما يعملون
|
|
My Lord save/rescue me and my family/people from what they make/do.
|
|
|
|
Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimmayaAAmaloona
|
|
170. * |
So We delivered him and his family,--all
|
|
We saved him and all his family.
|
|
فنجيناه واهله اجمعين
|
|
So We saved/rescued him and his family/people all/all together.
|
|
|
|
Fanajjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeena
|
|
171. * |
Except an old woman who lingered behind.
|
|
But not the old woman; she was doomed.
|
|
الا عجوزا في الغابرين
|
|
Except old/weak (F) (was) in the remaining behind.
|
|
|
|
IllaAAajoozan fee alghabireena
|
|
172. * |
But the rest We destroyed utterly.
|
|
We then destroyed the others.
|
|
ثم دمرنا الاخرين
|
|
Then We destroyed the others.
|
|
|
|
Thumma dammarnaal-akhareena
|
|
173. * |
We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!
|
|
We showered them with a miserable shower; what a terrible shower for those who had been warned!
|
|
وامطرنا عليهم مطرا فساء مطر المنذرين
|
|
And We rained on them rain, so it became bad/harmful, the warned's/given notice's rain.
|
|
|
|
WaamtarnaAAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena
|
|
174. * |
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That in that (is) an evidence/sign/verse (E), and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
175. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that your Lord, He is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
176. * |
The Companions of the Wood rejected the apostles.
|
|
The People of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.
|
|
كذب اصحاب الايكة المرسلين
|
|
The thicket's/dense tangled trees' owners/friends/company denied the messengers.
|
|
|
|
Kaththaba as-habu al-aykati almursaleena
|
|
177. * |
Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear ((Allah))?
|
|
Shu`aib said to them, "Would you not be righteous?
|
|
اذ قال لهم شعيب الا تتقون
|
|
When/if Shu'aib said to them: "Do you not fear and obey?"263
|
|
|
|
Ithqala lahum shuAAaybun alatattaqoona
|
|
178. * |
"I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust.
|
|
"I am an honest messenger to you.
|
|
اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
That I am for you a faithful messenger.
|
|

|

"So fear Allah and obey me.
|
|
"You shall reverence GOD, and obey me.
|

"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

|
"I do not ask you for any wage; my wage comes only from the Lord of the universe.

|
And I do not ask/beg you on it from a wage/fee/reward, that truly my wage/reward (is) except on the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.

|
181. * |
"Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud).
|
|
"You shall give full measure when you trade; do not cheat.
|
|
اوفوا الكيل ولاتكونوا من المخسرين
|
|
Fulfill/complete the measurement/weight, and do not be from the reducers/decreasers (cheaters).
|
|
|
|
Awfoo alkayla walatakoonoo mina almukhsireena
|
|
182. * |
"And weigh with scales true and upright.
|
|
"You shall weigh with an equitable scale.
|
|
وزنوا بالقسطاس المستقيم
|
|
And weigh/measure with the scale/measure the balanced.
|
|
|
|
Wazinoo bialqistasi almustaqeemi
|
|
183. * |
"And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief.
|
|
"Do not cheat the people out of their rights, and do not roam the earth corruptingly.
|
|
ولاتبخسوا الناس اشياءهم ولاتعثوا في الارض مفسدين
|
|
And do not reduce/cheat the people (of) their things, and do not corrupt in the earth/Planet Earth corrupting/disordering.
|
|
|
|
Walatabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum walataAAthaw fee al-ardi mufsideena
|
|
184. * |
"And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)"
|
|
"Reverence the One who created you and the previous generations."
|
|
واتقوا الذي خلقكم والجبلة الاولين
|
|
And fear and obey who created you, and the nation/creation, the first/beginners.
|
|
|
|
Waittaqoo allathee khalaqakum waaljibillata al-awwaleena
|
|
185. * |
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
|
|
They said, "You are bewitched.
|
|
قالوا انما انت من المسحرين
|
|
They said: "Truly/indeed you are from the bewitched/enchanted."
|
|
|
|
Qaloo innamaanta mina almusahhareena
|
|
186. * |
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar!
|
|
"You are no more than a human being like us. In fact, we think you are a liar.
|
|
وماانت الا بشر مثلنا وان نظنك لمن الكاذبين
|
|
And you are not except (a) human similar/equal to us, and that truly we suspect you (are) from (E) the liars/falsifiers.
|
|
|
|
Wamaanta illabasharun mithlunawa-in nathunnuka lamina alkathibeena
|
|
187. * |
"Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!"
|
|
"Let masses from the sky fall on us, if you are truthful."
|
|
فاسقط علينا كسفا من السماء ان كنت من الصادقين
|
|
So drop on us pieces from the sky/space if you were from the truthful.
|
|
|
|
FaasqitAAalaynakisafan mina alssama-i in kunta mina alssadiqeena
|
|
188. * |
He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do."
|
|
He said, "My Lord is the One who knows everything you do."
|
|
قال ربي اعلم بما تعلمون
|
|
He said: "My Lord (is) more knowledgeable with (about) what you make/do."
|
|
|
|
Qala rabbee aAAlamu bimataAAmaloona
|
|
189. * |
But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day.
|
|
They disbelieved him and, consequently, they incurred the retribution of the Day of the Canopy. It was the retribution of an awesome day.
|
|
فكذبوه فاخذهم عذاب يوم الظلة انه كان عذاب يوم عظيم
|
|
So they denied him, so torture (of) the shade's day/time punished/took them, that it truly was a great day's/time's torture.
|
|
|
|
Fakaththaboohu faakhathahum AAathabu yawmi alththullati innahu kana AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
|
|
190. * |
Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
|
|
This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.
|
|
ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين
|
|
That in that (is) an evidence/sign/verse (E) and most of them were not believing.
|
|
|
|
Inna feethalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu\mineena
|
|
191. * |
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Most assuredly, your Lord is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وان ربك لهو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And that your Lord He is (E) the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
|
|
192. * |
Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds:
|
|
This is a revelation from the Lord of the universe.
|
|
وانه لتنزيل رب العالمين
|
|
And that it truly is descent (E) (from) Lord (of) the creations all together/(universes).
|
|
|
|
Wa-innahu latanzeelu rabbi alAAalameena
|
|
193. * |
With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth-
|
|
The Honest Spirit (Gabriel) came down with it.
|
|
نزل به الروح الامين
|
|
The Soul/Spirit, the faithful/loyal, descended with it.
|
|
|
|
Nazala bihi alrroohu al-ameenu
|
|
194. * |
To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish.
|
|
To reveal it into your heart, that you may be one of the warners.
|
|
على قلبك لتكون من المنذرين
|
|
On your heart/mind to be (E) from the warners/givers of notice.
|
|
|
|
AAalaqalbika litakoona mina almunthireena
|
|
195. * |
In the perspicuous Arabic tongue.
|
|
In a perfect Arabic tongue.
|
|
بلسان عربي مبين
|
|
With a clear/evident Arabic tongue/language/speech.
|
|
|
|
Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeenin
|
|
196. * |
Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples.
|
|
It has been prophesied in the books of previous generations.
|
|
وانه لفي زبر الاولين
|
|
And that it truly is in (E) the first's/beginner's Books.
|
|
|
|
Wa-innahu lafee zuburi al-awwaleena
|
|
197. * |
Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?
|
|
Is it not a sufficient sign for them that it was known to the scholars among the Children of Israel?
|
|
اولم يكن لهم اية ان يعلمه علماء بني اسرائيل
|
|
Was not an evidence/sign/verse (to) be for them, that Israel's sons' and daughters' learned ones/knowledgeable know it? (Was not an evidence for them that the Israelites' scholars know of it?)
|
|
|
|
Awa lam yakun lahumayatan an yaAAlamahu AAulamao banee isra-eela
|
|
198. * |
Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs,
|
|
If we revealed this to people who do not know Arabic.
|
|
ولو نزلناه على بعض الاعجمين
|
|
And even if We descended it on (to) some (of) the non-Arabs/Persians.
|
|
|
|
Walaw nazzalnahu AAalabaAAdi al-aAAjameena
|
|
199. * |
And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it.
|
|
And had him recite it (in Arabic), they could not possibly believe in it.
|
|
فقراه عليهم ماكانوا به مؤمنين
|
|
So he read it on (to) them, (and) they were not with it believing.
|
|
|
|
Faqaraahu AAalayhim makanoo bihi mu\mineena
|
|
200. * |
Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners.
|
|
We thus render it (like a foreign language) in the hearts of the guilty.
|
|
كذلك سلكناه في قلوب المجرمين
|
|
As/like that We entered it in the criminals'/sinners' hearts/minds.
|
|
|
|
Kathalika salaknahu fee quloobi almujrimeena
|
|
201. * |
They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty;
|
|
Thus, they cannot believe in it; not until they see the painful retribution.
|
|
لايؤمنون به حتى يروا العذاب الاليم
|
|
They do not believe with it until they see the torture, the painful.
|
|
|
|
Layu\minoona bihihattayarawoo alAAathaba al-aleema
|
|
202. * |
But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;
|
|
It will come to them suddenly, when they least expect it.
|
|
فياتيهم بغتة وهم لايشعرون
|
|
So it comes to them suddenly/unexpectedly, and (while) they are not feeling/knowing/sensing.
|
|
|
|
Faya\tiyahum baghtatan wahum layashAAuroona
|
|
203. * |
Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"
|
|
They will then say, "Can we have a respite?"
|
|
فيقولوا هل نحن منظرون
|
|
So they say: "Are we delayed ?"
|
|
|
|
Fayaqooloo hal nahnu muntharoona
|
|
204. * |
Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on?
|
|
Did they not challenge our retribution?
|
|
افبعذابنا يستعجلون
|
|
Are (they) with Our torture hastening/urging ?
|
|
|
|
AfabiAAathabinayastaAAjiloona
|

Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years,
|
|
As you see, we allowed them to enjoy for years.
|
|
افرءيت ان متعناهم سنين
|
|
So did you see if We gave them long life/made them enjoy years?
|
|
|
|
Afaraayta in mattaAAnahum sineena
|
|
206. * |
Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised!
|
|
Then the retribution came to them, just as promised.
|
|
ثم جاءهم ماكانوا يوعدون
|
|
Then came to them what they were being promised.
|
|
|
|
Thumma jaahum makanoo yooAAadoona
|
|
207. * |
It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)!
|
|
Their vast resources did not help them in the least.
|
|
مااغنى عنهم ماكانوا يمتعون
|
|
What they were being made to enjoy did not enrich/suffice (benefit) from them.
|
|
|
|
MaaghnaAAanhum makanoo yumattaAAoona
|
|
208. * |
Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners -
|
|
We never annihilate any community without sending warners.
|
|
ومااهلكنا من قرية الا لها منذرون
|
|
And We did not destroy from a village/urban city, except for it (are) warners/givers of notice.264
|
|
|
|
Wamaahlaknamin qaryatin illalahamunthiroona
|
|
209. * |
By way of reminder; and We never are unjust.
|
|
Therefore, this is a reminder, for we are never unjust.
|
|
ذكرى وماكنا ظالمين
|
|
A remembrance/reminder, and We were not unjust/oppressive.
|
|
|
|
Thikrawamakunnathalimeena
|
|
210. * |
No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation):
|
|
The devils can never reveal this.
|
|
وماتنزلت به الشياطين
|
|
And the devils did not descend with it.
|
|
|
|
Wamatanazzalat bihi alshshayateenu
|
|
211. * |
It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).
|
|
They neither would, nor could.
|
|
وماينبغي لهم ومايستطيعون
|
|
And (it) should not (be) for them, and they are not able.
|
|
|
|
Wamayanbaghee lahum wamayastateeAAoona
|
|
212. * |
Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it.
|
|
For they are prevented from hearing.
|
|
انهم عن السمع لمعزلون
|
|
That they truly are from the hearing/listening, they are being separated/isolated (E).
|
|
|
|
Innahum AAani alssamAAi lamaAAzooloona
|
|
213. * |
So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty.
|
|
Therefore, do not idolize beside GOD any other god, lest you incur the retribution.
|
|
فلا تدع مع الله الها اخر فتكون من المعذبين
|
|
So do not call with God another god, so you be/become from the tortured ones.
|
|
|
|
FalatadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara fatakoona mina almuAAaththabeena
|
|
214. * |
And admonish thy nearest kinsmen,
|
|
You shall preach to the people who are closest to you.
|
|
وانذر عشيرتك الاقربين
|
|
And warn/give notice (to) your father's near relations/tribe the nearest/closest.
|
|
|
|
Waanthir AAasheerataka al-aqrabeena
|
|
215. * |
And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee.
|
|
And lower your wing for the believers who follow you.
|
|
واخفض جناحك لمن اتبعك من المؤمنين
|
|
And be lenient/comforting your wing/side (be kind) to who followed you from the believers.
|
|
|
|
Waikhfidjanahaka limani ittabaAAaka mina almu\mineena
|
|
216. * |
Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!"
|
|
If they disobey you, then say, "I disown what you do."
|
|
فان عصوك فقل اني برئ مما تعملون
|
|
So if they disobeyed you, so say: "That I am innocent/renouncing from what you make/do."
|
|
|
|
Fa-in AAasawka faqul innee baree-on mimmataAAmaloona
|
|
217. * |
And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,--
|
|
And put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
وتوكل على العزيز الرحيم
|
|
And rely/depend on the glorious/mighty, the merciful.
|
|
|
|
Watawakkal AAalaalAAazeezi alrraheemi
|
|
218. * |
Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer),
|
|
Who sees you when you meditate during the night.
|
|
الذي يراك حين تقوم
|
|
Who sees you when you stand/get up.
|
|
|
|
Allathee yarakaheena taqoomu
|
|
219. * |
And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves,
|
|
And your frequent prostrations.
|
|
وتقلبك في الساجدين
|
|
And your turning in (between) the prostrating.
|
|
|
|
Wataqallubaka fee alssajideena
|
|
220. * |
For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things.
|
|
He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.
|
|
انه هو السميع العليم
|
|
That He truly is the hearing/listening, the knowledgeable.
|
|
|
|
Innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
|
|
221. * |
Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend?
|
|
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
|
|
هل انبئكم على من تنزل الشياطين
|
|
Do I inform you, on (to) whom the devils descend?
|
|
|
|
Hal onabbi-okum AAalaman tanazzalu alshshayateenu
|
|
222. * |
They descend on every lying, wicked person,
|
|
They descend upon every guilty fabricator.
|
|
تنزل على كل افاك اثيم
|
|
(They) descend on (to) every/each liar/falsifier, sinner/criminal.
|
|
|
|
Tanazzalu AAalakulli affakin atheemin
|
|
223. * |
(Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.
|
|
They pretend to listen, but most of them are liars.
|
|
يلقون السمع واكثرهم كاذبون
|
|
They listen attentively the hearing/listening, and most of them (are) lying/denying.
|
|
|
|
Yulqoona alssamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboona
|
|
224. * |
And the Poets,--It is those straying in Evil, who follow them:
|
|
As for the poets, they are followed only by the strayers.
|
|
والشعراء يتبعهم الغاوون
|
|
And the poets, (only) the misguiding/failing follow them.
|
|
|
|
WaalshshuAAarao yattabiAAuhumu alghawoona
|
|
225. * |
Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?--
|
|
Do you not see that their loyalty shifts according to the situation?
|
|
الم تر انهم في كل واد يهيمون
|
|
Do you not see that they truly are in every/each valley they wander about confused ?
|
|
|
|
Alam tara annahum fee kulli wadin yaheemoona
|
|
226. * |
And that they say what they practise not?--
|
|
And that they say what they do not do?
|
|
وانهم يقولون مالايفعلون
|
|
And that they truly say what they do not make/do ?
|
|
|
|
Waannahum yaqooloona malayafAAaloona
|
|
227. * |
Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!
|
|
Exempted are those who believe, lead a righteous life, commemorate GOD frequently, and stand up for their rights. Surely, the transgressors will find out what their ultimate destiny is.
|
|
الا الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات وذكروا الله كثيرا وانتصروا من بعد ماظلموا وسيعلم الذين ظلموا اي منقلب ينقلبون
|
|
Except those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds and they remembered/mentioned God much, and they became victorious from after what they were caused injustice to/oppressed ; and those who caused injustice/oppressed will know which place of return, they return to.265
|
|
|
|
Illaallatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati wathakaroo Allaha katheeran waintasaroo min baAAdi mathulimoo wasayaAAlamu allatheenathalamoo ayya munqalabin yanqaliboona
