A questioner asked about a Penalty to befall-
|
|
A questioner may question the inevitable retribution.
|
|
سورة المعارج بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ سأل سائل بعذاب واقع
|
|
(An) asker/questioner asked/questioned with (about) a falling/landing torture.
|
|
|
|
Saala sa-ilun biAAathabin waqiAAin
|
|
2. * |
The Unbelievers, the which there is none to ward off,-
|
|
For the disbelievers, none can stop it.
|
|
للكافرين ليس له دافع
|
|
To the disbelievers (there) is not for it (a) repeller/pusher.
|
|
|
|
Lilkafireena laysa lahu dafiAAun
|
|
3. * |
(A Penalty) from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent.
|
|
From GOD; Possessor of the highest Height.
|
|
من الله ذي المعارج
|
|
From God, (owner) of the methods of ascent.
|
|
|
|
Mina Allahithee almaAAariji
|
|
4. * |
The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a Day the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years:
|
|
The angels, with their reports, climb to Him in a day that equals fifty thousand years.
|
|
تعرج الملائكة والروح اليه في يوم كان مقداره خمسين الف سنة
|
|
The angels and the Soul/Spirit ascend/climb to Him in a day/time its value/estimation/ measure was/is fifty thousand years.
|
|
|
|
TaAAruju almala-ikatu waalrroohu ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu khamseena alfa sanatin
|
|
5. * |
Therefore do thou hold Patience,- a Patience of beautiful (contentment).
|
|
Therefore, you shall resort to a gracious patience.
|
|
فاصبر صبرا جميلا
|
|
So be patient, beautiful/graceful patience.
|
|
|
|
Faisbirsabran jameelan
|
|
6. * |
They see the (Day) indeed as a far-off (event):
|
|
KHALIFA:For they see it far away.
|
|
انهم يرونه بعيدا
|
|
That they truly, they see/understand it a distant/far.
|
|
|
|
Innahum yarawnahu baAAeedan
|
|
7. * |
But We see it (quite) near.
|
|
While we see it very close.
|
|
ونراه قريبا
|
|
And We see/understand it near/close.
|
|
|
|
Wanarahu qareeban
|
|
8. * |
The Day that the sky will be like molten brass,
|
|
The day will come when the sky will be like molten rocks.
|
|
يوم تكون السماء كالمهل
|
|
A day/time the sky/space becomes as the dead's puss/melted metal.
|
|
|
|
Yawma takoonu alssamao kaalmuhli
|
|
9. * |
And the mountains will be like wool,
|
|
The mountains will be like fluffy wool.
|
|
وتكون الجبال كالعهن
|
|
And the mountains become like the wool/dyed wool.
|
|
|
|
Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni
|
|
10. * |
And no friend will ask after a friend,
|
|
KHALIFA:No friend will care about his close friend.
|
|
ولايسأل حميم حميما
|
|
And nor (a) concerned (relative/friend) asks/questions (about a) concerned (relative/friend).
|
|
|
|
Walayas-aluhameemunhameeman
|
|
11. * |
Though they will be put in sight of each other,- the sinner's desire will be: Would that he could redeem himself from the Penalty of that Day by (sacrificing) his children,
|
|
When they see them, the guilty will wish he could give his own children as ransom, to spare him the retribution of that day.
|
|
يبصرونهم يود المجرم لو يفتدي من عذاب يومئذ ببنيه
|
|
They make them see/understand; the criminal/sinner wishes/loves if he ransoms/compensates (sacrifices) with his sons from that day's torture (to save himself).
|
|
|
|
Yubassaroonahum yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadee min AAathabi yawmi-ithin bibaneehi
|
|
12. * |
His wife and his brother,
|
|
Also his spouse, and his brother
|
|
وصاحبته واخيه
|
|
And his wife/companion/friend and his brother.
|
|
|
|
Wasahibatihi waakheehi
|
|
13. * |
His kindred who sheltered him,
|
|
Even his whole tribe that raised him.
|
|
وفصيلته التي تؤويه
|
|
And his closest tribe/relations which shelters him/gives him refuge.
|
|
|
|
Wafaseelatihi allatee tu\weehi
|
|
14. * |
And all, all that is on earth,- so it could deliver him:
|
|
Even all the people on earth, if it would save him.
|
|
ومن في الارض جميعا ثم ينجيه
|
|
And whom (is) in the earth/Planet Earth all/all together, then (He) saves/rescues him.
|
|
|
|
Waman fee al-ardi jameeAAan thumma yunjeehi
|
|
15. * |
By no means! for it would be the Fire of Hell!-
|
|
No; it is aflame.
|
|
كلا انها لظى
|
|
No, but that it is blazing/flaming.
|
|
|
|
Kallainnahalatha
|
|
16. * |
Plucking out (his being) right to the skull!-
|
|
KHALIFA:Eager to burn.
|
|
نزاعة للشوى
|
|
Pulling away/removing to the extremities/outer layer of skin.
|
|
|
|
NazzaAAatan lilshshawa
|
|
17. * |
Inviting (all) such as turn their backs and turn away their faces (from the Right).
|
|
It calls on those who turned away.
|
|
تدعو من ادبر وتولى
|
|
It calls who gave his back and turned away.
|
|
|
|
TadAAoo man adbara watawalla
|
|
18. * |
And collect (wealth) and hide it (from use)!
|
|
Those who hoarded and counted.
|
|
وجمع فاوعى
|
|
And gathered/collected, so he comprehended/accepted.
|
|
|
|
WajamaAAa faawAAa
|
|
19. * |
Truly man was created very impatient;-
|
|
Indeed, the human being is anxious.
|
|
ان الانسان خلق هلوعا
|
|
That truly the human/mankind was created worrisome/frightened.
|
|
|
|
Inna al-insana khuliqa halooAAan
|
|
20. * |
Fretful when evil touches him;
|
|
If touched by adversity, despondent.
|
|
اذا مسه الشر جزوعا
|
|
If the bad/evil/harm touched him, (he is) worrying/grievous and impatient.
|
|
|
|
Ithamassahu alshsharru jazooAAan
|
|
21. * |
And niggardly when good reaches him;-
|
|
If blessed by wealth, stingy.
|
|
واذا مسه الخير منوعا
|
|
And if the goodness touched him, (he is) often preventing/prohibiting.
|
|
|
|
Wa-ithamassahu alkhayru manooAAan
|
|
22. * |
Not so those devoted to Prayer;-
|
|
Except for the worshipers.
|
|
الا المصلين
|
|
Except the praying.
|
|
|
|
Illaalmusalleena
|
|
23. * |
Those who remain steadfast to their prayer;
|
|
Who always observe their contact prayers (Salat).
|
|
الذين هم على صلاتهم دائمون
|
|
Those who (are) on their prayers continuing/lasting.
|
|
|
|
Allatheena hum AAalasalatihim da-imoona
|
|
24. * |
And those in whose wealth is a recognised right.
|
|
Part of their money is set aside.
|
|
والذين في اموالهم حق معلوم
|
|
And those who in their properties/possessions (is) a known right/share.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena fee amwalihimhaqqun maAAloomun
|
|
25. * |
For the (needy) who asks and him who is prevented (for some reason from asking);
|
|
For the poor and the needy
|
|
للسائل والمحروم
|
|
For the asker/beggar and the deprived.
|
|
|
|
Lilssa-ili waalmahroomi
|
|
26. * |
And those who hold to the truth of the Day of Judgment;
|
|
They believe in the Day of Judgment.
|
|
والذين يصدقون بيوم الدين
|
|
And those who believe/confirm with the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi alddeeni
|
|
27. * |
And those who fear the displeasure of their Lord,-
|
|
They reverence their Lord's requital.
|
|
والذين هم من عذاب ربهم مشفقون
|
|
And those whom they are from their Lord's torture, are afraid/guarding/cautious.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena hum min AAathabi rabbihim mushfiqoona
|
|
28. * |
For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity;-
|
|
Their Lord's requital is not taken for granted.
|
|
ان عذاب ربهم غير مامون
|
|
That truly their Lord's torture (is) not trusted/safe.
|
|
|
|
Inna AAathaba rabbihim ghayru ma\moonin
|
|
29. * |
And those who guard their chastity,
|
|
They keep their chastity.
|
|
والذين هم لفروجهم حافظون
|
|
And those who to their genital parts (they are) protecting/guarding.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena hum lifuroojihimhafithoona
|
|
30. * |
Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,
|
|
(They have relations) only with their spouses, or what is legally theirs -
|
|
الا على ازواجهم او ماملكت ايمانهم فانهم غير ملومين
|
|
Except on (for) their spouses and what their rights owned/possessed (i.e.: care-givers of the sick, elderly and disabled under contract), so then they are not blameworthy/blamed.
|
|
|
|
IllaAAalaazwajihim aw mamalakat aymanuhum fa-innahum ghayru maloomeena
|
|
31. * |
But those who trespass beyond this are transgressors;-
|
|
anyone who transgresses these limits is a sinner.
|
|
فمن ابتغى وراء ذلك فاولئك هم العادون
|
|
So who desired/wished beyond that, so those, they are the transgressors/violators.
|
|
|
|
Famani ibtaghawaraathalika faola-ika humu alAAadoona
|
|
32. * |
And those who respect their trusts and covenants;
|
|
And the believers keep their word; they are trustworthy.
|
|
والذين هم لاماناتهم وعهدهم راعون
|
|
And those who, to their deposits/securities and their promise/contracts, (they are) protecting/observing.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena hum li-amanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona
|
|
33. * |
And those who stand firm in their testimonies;
|
|
Their testimony is truthful.
|
|
والذين هم بشهاداتهم قائمون
|
|
And those who, they are with their testimonies (they are) taking care of.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena hum bishahadatihim qa-imoona
|
|
34. * |
And those who guard (the sacredness) of their worship;-
|
|
They consistently observe their contact prayers (Salat) on time.
|
|
والذين هم على صلاتهم يحافظون
|
|
And those who, they are on their prayers (they are) protecting/observing.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena hum AAalasalatihim yuhafithoona
|
|
35. * |
Such will be the honoured ones in the Gardens (of Bliss).
|
|
They have deserved a position of honor in Paradise.
|
|
اولئك في جنات مكرمون
|
|
Those are in treed gardens/paradises honoured.
|
|
|
|
Ola-ika fee jannatin mukramoona
|
|
36. * |
Now what is the matter with the Unbelievers that they rush madly before thee-
|
|
What is keeping those who disbelieved from joining you?
|
|
فمال الذين كفروا قبلك مهطعين
|
|
So why (is it) those who disbelieved (are) coming, rushing in fear towards/in front of you ?
|
|
|
|
Famali allatheena kafaroo qibalaka muhtiAAeena
|
|
37. * |
From the right and from the left, in crowds?
|
|
To the right, and to the left, they flee.
|
|
عن اليمين وعن الشمال عزين
|
|
Groups of people/relations from the right (side), and from the left (side).
|
|
|
|
AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali AAizeena
|
|
38. * |
Does every man of them long to enter the Garden of Bliss?
|
|
How can any of them expect to enter the blissful Paradise?
|
|
ايطمع كل امرئ منهم ان يدخل جنة نعيم
|
|
Does every/each human from them wish/covet that (E) he enters a treed garden/paradise (of) comfort and ease ?
|
|
|
|
AyatmaAAu kullu imri-in minhum an yudkhala jannata naAAeemin
|
|
39. * |
By no means! For We have created them out of the (base matter) they know!
|
|
Never; we created them, and they know from what.
|
|
كلا انا خلقناهم مما يعلمون
|
|
No but that We created them from what they know.
|
|
|
|
Kallainnakhalaqnahum mimmayaAAlamoona
|
|
40. * |
Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly-
|
|
I solemnly swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests; we are able -
|
|
فلا اقسم برب المشارق والمغارب انا لقادرون
|
|
So I do not swear/make oath with the sun rises'/easts', and the sunsets'/wests' Lord, that We are capable/able (E).
|
|
|
|
Falaoqsimu birabbi almashariqi waalmagharibi innalaqadiroona
|
|
41. * |
Substitute for them better (men) than they; And We are not to be defeated (in Our Plan).
|
|
KHALIFA:to substitute better people in your place; we can never be defeated.
|
|
على ان نبدل خيرا منهم ومانحن بمسبوقين
|
|
On that (E) We exchange/replace better than them, and We are not with being raced/preceded.
|
|
|
|
AAalaan nubaddila khayran minhum wamanahnu bimasbooqeena
|
|
42. * |
So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they encounter that Day of theirs which they have been promised!-
|
|
Therefore, let them blunder and play, until they meet the day that is awaiting them.
|
|
فذرهم يخوضوا ويلعبوا حتى يلاقوا يومهم الذي يوعدون
|
|
So leave them plunge into/engage in conversation and play/amuse until they meet/find their day/time which they are being promised.
|
|
|
|
Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboohattayulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona
|
|
43. * |
The Day whereon they will issue from their sepulchres in sudden haste as if they were rushing to a goal-post (fixed for them),-
|
|
That is the day they come out of the graves in a hurry, as if herded to the (sacrificial) altars.
|
|
يوم يخرجون من الاجداث سراعا كانهم الى نصب يوفضون
|
|
A day/time they appear/emerge from the graves quickening/rushing as if they are to monuments/slaughter places running/hurrying.
|
|
|
|
Yawma yakhrujoona mina al-ajdathi siraAAan kaannahum ilanusubin yoofidoona
|
|
44. * |
Their eyes lowered in dejection,- ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised!
|
|
With their eyes subdued, shame will cover them. That is the day that is awaiting them.
|
|
خاشعة ابصارهم ترهقهم ذلة ذلك اليوم الذي كانوا يوعدون
|
|
Their eyesights/understanding (are) humble/submissive, humiliation/disgrace burdens/depresses them,that (is) the day/time which they were being promised.437
|
|
|
|
KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhumthillatunthalika alyawmu allathee kanoo yooAAadoona
|
|
