| 1. * | By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; | The (angels who) snatch (the souls of the disbelievers) forcibly. | سورة النازعات بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ والنازعات غرقا | swr+ alnaz`at bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? walnaz`at Grqa | |||
| 2. * | By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); | And those who gently take (the souls of the believers) joyfully. | والناشطات نشطا | walna$Tat n$Ta | |||
| 3. * | And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), | And those floating everywhere. | والسابحات سبحا | walsabHat sbHa | |||
| 4. * | Then press forward as in a race, | Eagerly racing with one another - | فالسابقات سبقا | falsabqat sbqa | |||
| 5. * | Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), | to carry out various commands. | فالمدبرات امرا | falmdbrat amra | |||
| 6. * | One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, | The day the quake quakes. | يوم ترجف الراجفة | ywm trjf alrajf+ | |||
| 7. * | Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): | Followed by the second blow. | تتبعها الرادفة | ttb`ha alradf+ | |||
| 8. * | Hearts that Day will be in agitation; | Certain minds will be terrified. | قلوب يومئذ واجفة | qlwb ywmYX wajf+ | |||
| 9. * | Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. | Their eyes will be subdued. | ابصارها خاشعة | abSarha Ka$`+ | |||
| 10. * | They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? | They will say, "We have been recreated from the grave! | يقولون ائنا لمردودون في الحافرة | yqwlwn aYna lmrdwdwn fy alHafr+ | |||
| 11. * | "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" | "How did this happen after we had turned into rotten bones?" | ائذا كنا عظاما نخرة | aYXa kna `Zama nKr+ | |||
| 12. * | They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" | They had said, "This is an impossible recurrence." | قالوا تلك اذا كرة خاسرة | qalwa tlk aXa kr+ Kasr+ | |||
| 13. * | But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, | All it takes is one nudge. | فانما هي زجرة واحدة | fanma hy zjr+ waHd+ | |||
| 14. * | When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). | Whereupon they get up. | فاذا هم بالساهرة | faXa hm balsahr+ | |||
| 15. * | Has the story of Moses reached thee? | Have you known about the history of Moses? | هل اتاك حديث موسى | hl atak Hdyx mwsi | |||
| 16. * | Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- | His Lord called him at the holy valley of Tuwaa. | اذ ناداه ربه بالواد المقدس طوى | aX nadah rbh balwad almqds Twi | |||
| 17. * | "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: | "Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed." | اذهب الى فرعون انه طغى | aXhb ali fr`wn anh TGi | |||
| 18. * | "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- | Tell him, "Would you not reform? | فقل هل لك الى ان تزكى | fql hl lk ali an tzki | |||
| 19. * | "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" | "Let me guide you to your Lord, that you may turn reverent." | واهديك الى ربك فتخشى | wahdyk ali rbk ftK$i | |||
| 20. * | Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. | He then showed him the great miracle. | فاراه الاية الكبرى | farah alay+ alkbri | |||
| 21. * | But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); | But he disbelieved and rebelled. | فكذب وعصى | fkXb w`Si | |||
| 22. * | Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah.. | Then he turned away in a hurry. | ثم ادبر يسعى | xm adbr ys`i | |||
| 23. * | Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, | He summoned and proclaimed. | فحشر فنادى | fH$r fnadi | |||
| 24. * | Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". | He said, "I am your Lord; most high." | فقال انا ربكم الاعلى | fqal ana rbkm ala`li | |||
| 25. * | But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. | Consequently, GOD committed him to the retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life. | فاخذه الله نكال الاخرة والاولى | faKXh allh nkal alaKr+ walawli | |||
| 26. * | Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth ((Allah)). | This is a lesson for the reverent. | ان في ذلك لعبرة لمن يخشى | an fy Xlk l`br+ lmn yK$i | |||
| 27. * | What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? ((Allah)) hath constructed it: | Are you more difficult to create than the heaven? He constructed it. | ءانتم اشد خلقا ام السماء بناها | 'antm a$d Klqa am alsma' bnaha | |||
| 28. * | On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection. | He raised its masses, and perfected it. | رفع سمكها فسواها | rf` smkha fswaha | |||
| 29. * | Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light). | He made its night dark, and brightened its morn. | واغطش ليلها واخرج ضحاها | waGT$ lylha waKrj DHaha | |||
| 30. * | And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse); | He made the earth egg-shaped. | والارض بعد ذلك دحاها | walarD b`d Xlk dHaha | |||
| 31. * | He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture; | From it, He produced its own water and pasture. | اخرج منها ماءها ومرعاها | aKrj mnha ma'ha wmr`aha | |||
| 32. * | And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- | He established the mountains. | والجبال ارساها | waljbal arsaha | |||
| 33. * | For use and convenience to you and your cattle. | All this to provide life support for you and your animals. | متاعا لكم ولانعامكم | mta`a lkm wlan`amkm | |||
| 34. * | Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- | Then, when the great blow comes. | فاذا جاءت الطامة الكبرى | faXa ja't alTam+ alkbri | |||
| 35. * | The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for, | That is the day when the human will remember everything he did. | يوم يتذكر الانسان ماسعى | ywm ytXkr alansan mas`i | |||
| 36. * | And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,- | Hell will be brought into existence. | وبرزت الجحيم لمن يرى | wbrzt aljHym lmn yri | |||
| 37. * | Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, | As for the one who transgressed. | فاما من طغى | fama mn TGi | |||
| 38. * | And had preferred the life of this world, | Who was preoccupied with this life. | واثر الحياة الدنيا | waxr alHya+ aldnya | |||
| 39. * | The Abode will be Hell-Fire; | Hell will be the abode. | فان الجحيم هي الماوى | fan aljHym hy almawi | |||
| 40. * | And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, | As for the one who reverenced the majesty of his Lord, and enjoined the self from sinful lusts. | واما من خاف مقام ربه ونهى النفس عن الهوى | wama mn Kaf mqam rbh wnhi alnfs `n alhwi | |||
| 41. * | Their abode will be the Garden. | Paradise will be the abode. | فان الجنة هي الماوى | fan aljn+ hy almawi | |||
| 42. * | They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? | They ask you about the Hour, and when it will take place! | يسألونك عن الساعة ايان مرساها | ysAlwnk `n alsa`+ ayan mrsaha | |||
| 43. * | Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof? | It is not you (Muhammad) who is destined to announce its time. | فيم انت من ذكراها | fym ant mn Xkraha | |||
| 44. * | With thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor. | Your Lord decides its fate. | الى ربك منتهاها | ali rbk mnthaha | |||
| 45. * | Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it. | Your mission is to warn those who expect it. | انما انت منذر من يخشاها | anma ant mnXr mn yK$aha | |||
| 46. * | The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn! | The day they see it, they will feel as if they lasted one evening or half a day. | كانهم يوم يرونها لم يلبثوا الا عشية او ضحاها | kanhm ywm yrwnha lm ylbxwa ala `$y+ aw DHaha | |||
