וידבר יהוה אל־משה לאמר׃ |
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | |||

דבר אל־בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם איש כי יפלא נדר בערכך נפשת ליהוה׃ |
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy estimation. | "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, 'When a man makes a vow, the persons shall be for Yahweh by your valuation. | Say to the children of Israel, If a man makes a special oath, you will give your decision as to the value of the persons for the Lord. | |||

והיה ערכך הזכר מבן עשרים שנה ועד בן־ששים שנה והיה ערכך חמשים שקל כסף בשקל הקדש׃ |
And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. | Your valuation shall be of a male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. | And you will put the value of a male from twenty years to sixty years old at fifty shekels of silver, by the scale of the holy place. | |||

ואם־נקבה הוא והיה ערכך שלשים שקל׃ |
And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. | If it is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels. | And if it is a female, the value will be thirty shekels. | |||

ואם מבן־חמש שנים ועד בן־עשרים שנה והיה ערכך הזכר עשרים שקלים ולנקבה עשרת שקלים׃ |
And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. | If the person is from five years old even to twenty years old, then your valuation shall be for a male twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels. | And if the person is from five to twenty years old, the value will be twenty shekels for a male, and ten for a female. | |||

ואם מבן־חדש ועד בן־חמש שנים והיה ערכך הזכר חמשה שקלים כסף ולנקבה ערכך שלשת שקלים כסף׃ |
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. | If the person is from a month old even to five years old, then your valuation shall be for a male five shekels of silver, and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver. | And if the person is from one month to five years old, then the value for a male will be five shekels of silver, and for a female three shekels. | |||

ואם מבן־ששים שנה ומעלה אם־זכר והיה ערכך חמשה עשר שקל ולנקבה עשרה שקלים׃ |
And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. | If the person is from sixty years old and upward; if it is a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels. | And for sixty years old and over, for a male the value will be fifteen shekels, and for a female, ten. | |||

ואם־מך הוא מערכך והעמידו לפני הכהן והעריך אתו הכהן על־פי אשר תשיג יד הנדר יעריכנו הכהן׃ |
But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him. | But if he is poorer than your valuation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of him who vowed shall the priest value him. | But if he is poorer than the value which you have put on him, then let him be taken to the priest, and the priest will put a value on him, such as it is possible for him to give. | |||

ואם־בהמה אשר יקריבו ממנה קרבן ליהוה כל אשר יתן ממנו ליהוה יהיה־קדש׃ |
And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy. | "'If it is an animal, of which men offer an offering to Yahweh, all that any man gives of such to Yahweh becomes holy. | And if it is a beast of which men make offerings to the Lord, whatever any man gives of such to the Lord will be holy. | |||

לא יחליפנו ולא־ימיר אתו טוב ברע או־רע בטוב ואם־המר ימיר בהמה בבהמה והיה־הוא ותמורתו יהיה־קדש׃ |
He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy. | He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change animal for animal, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. | It may not be changed in any way, a good given for a bad, or a bad for a good; if one beast is changed for another, the two will be holy. | |||

ואם כל־בהמה טמאה אשר לא־יקריבו ממנה קרבן ליהוה והעמיד את־ הבהמה לפני הכהן׃ |
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest: | If it is any unclean animal, of which they do not offer as an offering to Yahweh, then he shall set the animal before the priest; | And if it is any unclean beast, of which offerings are not made to the Lord, then let him take the beast before the priest; | |||

והעריך הכהן אתה בין טוב ובין רע כערכך הכהן כן יהיה׃ |
And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be. | and the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad. As you the priest values it, so shall it be. | And let the priest put a value on it, if it is good or bad; whatever value the priest puts on it, so will it be. | |||

ואם־גאל יגאלנה ויסף חמישתו על־ערכך׃ |
But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part thereof unto thy estimation. | But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to its valuation. | But if he has a desire to get it back for himself, let him give a fifth more than your value. | |||

ואיש כי־יקדש את־ביתו קדש ליהוה והעריכו הכהן בין טוב ובין רע כאשר יעריך אתו הכהן כן יקום׃ |
And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. | "'When a man dedicates his house to be holy to Yahweh, then the priest shall evaluate it, whether it is good or bad: as the priest shall evaluate it, so shall it stand. | And if a man has given his house as holy to the Lord, then the priest will put a value on it, if it is good or bad; as the priest gives decision so will the value be fixed. | |||

ואם־המקדיש יגאל את־ביתו ויסף חמישית כסף־ערכך עליו והיה לו׃ |
And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his. | If he who dedicates it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be his. | And if the owner has a desire to get back his house, let him give a fifth more than your value, and it will be his. | |||

ואם משדה אחזתו יקדיש איש ליהוה והיה ערכך לפי זרעו זרע חמר שערים בחמשים שקל כסף׃ |
And if a man shall sanctify unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then thy estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. | "'If a man dedicates to Yahweh part of the field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it: the sowing of a homer{1 homer is about 220 litres or 6 bushels} of barley shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. | And if a man gives to the Lord part of the field which is his property, then let your value be in relation to the seed which is planted in it; a measure of barley grain will be valued at fifty shekels of silver. | |||

אם־משנת היבל יקדיש שדהו כערכך יקום׃ |
If he sanctify his field from the year of jubile, according to thy estimation it shall stand. | If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand. | If he gives his field from the year of Jubilee, the value will be fixed by your decision. | |||

ואם־אחר היבל יקדיש שדהו וחשב־לו הכהן את־הכסף על־פי השנים הנותרת עד שנת היבל ונגרע מערכך׃ |
But if he sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be abated from thy estimation. | But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the Year of Jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your valuation. | But if he gives his field after the year of Jubilee, the amount of the money will be worked out by the priest in relation to the number of years till the coming year of Jubilee, and the necessary amount will be taken off your value. | |||

ואם־גאל יגאל את־השדה המקדיש אתו ויסף חמשית כסף־ערכך עליו וקם לו׃ |
And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him. | If he who dedicated the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall remain his. | And if the man who has given the field has a desire to get it back, let him give a fifth more than the price at which it was valued and it will be his. | |||

ואם־לא יגאל את־השדה ואם־מכר את־השדה לאיש אחר לא יגאל עוד׃ |
And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. | If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more; | But if he has no desire to get it back, or if he has given it for a price to another man, it may not be got back again. | |||

והיה השדה בצאתו ביבל קדש ליהוה כשדה החרם לכהן תהיה אחזתו׃ |
But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest's. | but the field, when it goes out in the Jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a field devoted; it shall be owned by the priests. | But the field, when it becomes free at the year of Jubilee, will be holy to the Lord, as a field given under oath: it will be the property of the priest. | |||

ואם את־שדה מקנתו אשר לא משדה אחזתו יקדיש ליהוה׃ |
And if a man sanctify unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; | "'If he dedicates to Yahweh a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession, | And if a man gives to the Lord a field which he has got for money from another, which is not part of his heritage; | |||

וחשב־לו הכהן את מכסת הערכך עד שנת היבל ונתן את־הערכך ביום ההוא קדש ליהוה׃ |
Then the priest shall reckon unto him the worth of thy estimation, even unto the year of the jubile: and he shall give thine estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto the LORD. | then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh. | Then the value fixed by you up to the year of Jubilee will be worked out for him by the priest, and in that day he will give the amount of your value as holy to the Lord. | |||

בשנת היובל ישוב השדה לאשר קנהו מאתו לאשר־לו אחזת הארץ׃ |
In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong. | In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs. | In the year of Jubilee the field will go back to him from whom he got it, that is, to him whose heritage it was. | |||
| 25. |
וכל־ערכך יהיה בשקל הקדש עשרים גרה יהיה השקל׃ |
And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. | All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel. | And let all your values be based on the shekel of the holy place, that is, twenty gerahs to the shekel. | |||

אך־בכור אשר־יבכר ליהוה בבהמה לא־יקדיש איש אתו אם־שור אם־שה ליהוה הוא׃ |
Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD's firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD's. | "'Only the firstborn among animals, which is made a firstborn to Yahweh, no man may dedicate it; whether an ox or sheep, it is Yahweh's. | But a man may not give by oath to the Lord the first-fruits of cattle which are offered to the Lord: if it is an ox or a sheep it is the Lord's. | |||

ואם בבהמה הטמאה ופדה בערכך ויסף חמשתו עליו ואם־לא יגאל ונמכר בערכך׃ |
And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy estimation. | If it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation. | And if it is an unclean beast, then the owner of it may give money to get it back, in agreement with the value fixed by you, by giving a fifth more; or if it is not taken back, let it be given for money in agreement with your valuing. | |||

אך־כל־חרם אשר יחרם איש ליהוה מכל־אשר־לו מאדם ובהמה ומשדה אחזתו לא ימכר ולא יגאל כל־חרם קדש־קדשים הוא ליהוה׃ |
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD. | "'Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Yahweh. | But nothing which a man has given completely to the Lord, out of all his property, of man or beast, or of the land which is his heritage, may be given away or got back in exchange for money; anything completely given is most holy to the Lord. | |||

כל־חרם אשר יחרם מן־האדם לא יפדה מות יומת׃ |
None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. | "'No one devoted, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death. | Any man given completely to the Lord may not be got back: he is certainly to be put to death. | |||

וכל־מעשר הארץ מזרע הארץ מפרי העץ ליהוה הוא קדש ליהוה׃ |
And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy unto the LORD. | "'All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is Yahweh's. It is holy to Yahweh. | And every tenth part of the land, of the seed planted, or of the fruit of trees, is holy to the Lord. | |||

ואם־גאל יגאל איש ממעשרו חמשיתו יסף עליו׃ |
And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. | If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it. | And if a man has a desire to get back any of the tenth part which he has given, let him give a fifth more. | |||
| 32. |
וכל־מעשר בקר וצאן כל אשר־יעבר תחת השבט העשירי יהיה־קדש ליהוה׃ |
And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. | All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Yahweh. | And a tenth part of the herd and of the flock, whatever goes under the rod of the valuer, will be holy to the Lord. | |||
| 33. |
לא יבקר בין־טוב לרע ולא ימירנו ואם־המר ימירנו והיה־הוא ותמורתו יהיה־קדש לא יגאל׃ |
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. | He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he changes it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.'" | He may not make search to see if it is good or bad, or make any changes in it; and if he makes exchange of it for another, the two will be holy; he will not get them back again. | |||

אלה המצות אשר צוה יהוה את־משה אל־בני ישראל בהר סיני׃ |
These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai. | These are the commandments which Yahweh commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai. | These are the orders which the Lord gave to Moses for the children of Israel in Mount Sinai. | |||
