1.    Moreover Yahweh answered Job,     Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,     ויען  יהוה  את־איוב 
ויאמר׃
    VY'yN YHVH 'aTh-'aYVB VY'aMUr.     And Jehovah doth answer Job, and saith: --     et adiecit Dominus et locutus est ad Iob
 
2.    "Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it."     Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.     הרב  עם־שדי  יסור 
מוכיח  אלוה  יעננה׃
    HUrB 'yM-ShDY YSVUr MVKYCh 'aLVH Y'yNNH.     Is the striver with the Mighty instructed? The reprover of God, let him answer it.     numquid qui contendit cum Deo tam facile conquiescit utique qui arguit Deum debet respondere ei
 
3.    Then Job answered Yahweh,     Then Job answered the LORD, and said,     ויען  איוב  את־יהוה 
ויאמר׃
    VY'yN 'aYVB 'aTh-YHVH VY'aMUr.     And Job answereth Jehovah, and saith: --     respondens autem Iob Domino dixit
 
4.    "Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.     Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.     הן  קלתי  מה  אשיבך 
ידי  שמתי  למו־פי׃
    HN QLThY MH 'aShYBK YDY ShMThY LMV-PhY.     Lo, I have been vile, What do I return to Thee? My hand I have placed on my mouth.     qui leviter locutus sum respondere quid possum manum meam ponam super os meum
 
5.    I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."     Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.     אחת  דברתי  ולא 
אענה  ושתים  ולא
אוסיף׃
    'aChTh DBUrThY VL'a 'a'yNH VShThYM VL'a 'aVSYPh.     Once I have spoken, and I answer not, And twice, and I add not.     unum locutus sum quod utinam non dixissem et alterum quibus ultra non addam
 
6.    Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,     Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,     ויען־יהוה  את־איוב 
מנסערה  ויאמר׃
    VY'yN-YHVH 'aTh-'aYVB MNS'yUrH VY'aMUr.     And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith: --     respondens autem Dominus Iob de turbine ait
 
7.    "Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.     Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.     אזר־נא  כגבר  חלציך 
אשאלך  והודיעני׃
    'aZUr-N'a KGBUr ChLTShYK 'aSh'aLK VHVDY'yNY.     Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.     accinge sicut vir lumbos tuos interrogabo te et indica mihi
 
8.    Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?     Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?     האף  תפר  משפטי 
תרשיעני  למען
תצדק׃
    H'aPh ThPhUr MShPhTY ThUrShY'yNY LM'yN ThTShDQ.     Dost thou also make void My judgment? Dost thou condemn Me, That thou mayest be righteous?     numquid irritum facies iudicium meum et condemnabis me ut tu iustificeris
 
9.    Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?     Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?     ואם־זרוע  כאל  לך 
ובקול  כמהו  תרעם׃
    V'aM-ZUrV'y K'aL LK VBQVL KMHV ThUr'yM.     And an arm like God hast thou? And with a voice like Him dost thou thunder?     et si habes brachium sicut Deus et si voce simili tonas
 
10.    "Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.     Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.     עדה  נא  גאון  וגבה 
והוד  והדר  תלבש׃
    'yDH N'a G'aVN VGBH VHVD VHDUr ThLBSh.     Put on, I pray thee, excellency and loftiness, Yea, honour and beauty put on.     circumda tibi decorem et in sublime erigere et esto gloriosus et speciosis induere vestibus
 
11.    Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.     Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.     הפץ  עברות  אפך 
וראה  כל־גאה
והשפילהו׃
    HPhTSh 'yBUrVTh 'aPhK VUr'aH KL-G'aH VHShPhYLHV.     Scatter abroad the wrath of thine anger, And see every proud one, and make him low.     disperge superbos furore tuo et respiciens omnem arrogantem humilia
 
12.    Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.     Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.     ראה  כל־גאה 
הכניעהו  והדך
רשעים  תחתם׃
    Ur'aH KL-G'aH HKNY'yHV VHDK UrSh'yYM ThChThM.     See every proud one -- humble him, And tread down the wicked in their place.     respice cunctos superbos et confunde eos et contere impios in loco suo
 
13.    Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.     Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.     טמנם  בעפר  יחד 
פניהם  חבש  בטמון׃
    TMNM B'yPhUr YChD PhNYHM ChBSh BTMVN.     Hide them in the dust together, Their faces bind in secret.     absconde eos in pulvere simul et facies eorum demerge in foveam
 
14.    Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.     Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.     וגם־אני  אודך 
כי־תושע  לך  ימינך׃
    VGM-'aNY 'aVDK KY-ThVSh'y LK YMYNK.     And even I -- I do praise thee, For thy right hand giveth salvation to thee.     et ego confitebor quod salvare te possit dextera tua
 
15.    "See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.     Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.     הנה־נא  בהמות 
אשר־עשיתי  עמך
חציר  כבקר  יאכל׃
    HNH-N'a BHMVTh 'aShUr-'yShYThY 'yMK ChTShYUr KBQUr Y'aKL.     Lo, I pray thee, Behemoth, that I made with thee: Grass as an ox he eateth.     ecce Behemoth quem feci tecum faenum quasi bos comedet
 
16.    Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.     Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.     הנה־נא  כחו  במתניו 
ואנו  בשרירי  בטנו׃
    HNH-N'a KChV BMThNYV V'aNV BShUrYUrY BTNV.     Lo, I pray thee, his power is in his loins, And his strength in the muscles of his belly.     fortitudo eius in lumbis eius et virtus illius in umbilicis ventris eius
 
17.    He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.     He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.     יחפץ  זנבו  כמו־ארז 
גידי  פחדו  ישרגו׃
    YChPhTSh ZNBV KMV-'aUrZ GYDY PhChDV YShUrGV.     He doth bend his tail as a cedar, The sinews of his thighs are wrapped together,     constringit caudam suam quasi cedrum nervi testiculorum eius perplexi sunt
 
18.    His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron.     His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.     עצמיו  אפיקי  נחושה 
גרמיו  כמטיל  ברזל׃
    'yTShMYV 'aPhYQY NChVShH GUrMYV KMTYL BUrZL.     His bones are tubes of brass, His bones are as a bar of iron.     ossa eius velut fistulae aeris cartilago illius quasi lamminae ferreae
 
19.    He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.     He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.     הוא  ראשית  דרכי־אל 
העשו  יגש  חרבו׃
    HV'a Ur'aShYTh DUrKY-'aL H'yShV YGSh ChUrBV.     He is a beginning of the ways of God, His Maker bringeth nigh his sword;     ipse principium est viarum Dei qui fecit eum adplicabit gladium eius
 
20.    Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.     Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.     כי־בול  הרים 
ישאו־לו  וכל־חית
השדה  ישחקו־שם׃
    KY-BVL HUrYM YSh'aV-LV VKL-ChYTh HShDH YShChQV-ShM.     For food do mountains bear for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.     huic montes herbas ferunt omnes bestiae agri ludent ibi
 
21.    He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.     He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.     תחת־צאלים  ישכב 
בסתר  קנה  ובצה׃
    ThChTh-TSh'aLYM YShKB BSThUr QNH VBTShH.     Under shades he lieth down, In a secret place of reed and mire.     sub umbra dormit in secreto calami et locis humentibus
 
22.    The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.     The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.     יסכהו  צאלים  צללו 
יסבוהו  ערבי־נחל׃
    YSKHV TSh'aLYM TShLLV YSBVHV 'yUrBY-NChL.     Cover him do shades, with their shadow, Cover him do willows of the brook.     protegunt umbrae umbram eius circumdabunt eum salices torrentis
 
23.    Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.     Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.     הן  יעשק  נהר  לא 
יחפוז  יבטח
כי־יגיח  ירדן
אל־פיהו׃
    HN Y'yShQ NHUr L'a YChPhVZ YBTCh KY-YGYCh YUrDN 'aL-PhYHV.     Lo, a flood oppresseth -- he doth not haste, He is confident though Jordan Doth come forth unto his mouth.     ecce absorbebit fluvium et non mirabitur habet fiduciam quod influat Iordanis in os eius
 
24.    Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?     He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.     בעיניו  יקחנו 
במוקשים  ינקב־אף׃
    B'yYNYV YQChNV BMVQShYM YNQB-'aPh.     Before his eyes doth one take him, With snares doth one pierce the nose?     in oculis eius quasi hamo capiet eum et in sudibus perforabit nares eius
