1.    {For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.} Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.     Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.     למנצח  מזמור  לדוד׃

    To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David, in the coming inn unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba.     victori canticum David

2.    Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity. Cleanse me from my sin.     Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.     חנני  אלהים  כחסדך 
כרב  רחמיך  מחה
פשעי׃
    ChNNY 'aLHYM KChSDK KUrB UrChMYK MChH PhSh'yY.     Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions.     miserere mei Deus secundum misericordiam tuam iuxta multitudinem miserationum tuarum dele iniquitates meas
 
3.    For I know my transgressions. My sin is constantly before me.     For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.     הרבה  כבסני  מעוני 
ומחטאתי  טהרני׃
    HUrBH KBSNY M'yVNY VMChT'aThY THUrNY.     Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me,     multum lava me ab iniquitate mea et a peccato meo munda me
 
4.    Against you, and you only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight; that you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge.     Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.     כי־פשעי  אני  אדע 
וחטאתי  נגדי  תמיד׃
    KY-PhSh'yY 'aNY 'aD'y VChT'aThY NGDY ThMYD.     For my transgressions I do know, And my sin is before me continually.     quoniam iniquitates meas ego novi et peccatum meum contra me est semper
 
5.    Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me.     Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.     לך  לבדך  חטאתי 
והרע  בעיניך  עשיתי
למען  תצדק  בדברך
תזכה  בשפטך׃
    LK LBDK ChT'aThY VHUr'y B'yYNYK 'yShYThY LM'yN ThTShDQ BDBUrK ThZKH BShPhTK.     Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging.     tibi soli peccavi et malum coram te feci ut iustificeris in sermonibus tuis et vincas cum iudicaveris
 
6.    Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.     Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.     הן־בעוון  חוללתי 
ובחטא  יחמתני  אמי׃
    HN-B'yVVN ChVLLThY VBChT'a YChMThNY 'aMY.     Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me.     ecce in iniquitate conceptus sum et in peccato peperit me mater mea
 
7.    Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.     Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.     הן־אמת  חפצת  בטחות 
ובסתם  חכמה
תודיעני׃
    HN-'aMTh ChPhTShTh BTChVTh VBSThM ChKMH ThVDY'yNY.     Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know.     ecce enim veritatem diligis absconditum et arcanum sapientiae manifestasti mihi
 
8.    Let me hear joy and gladness, That the bones which you have broken may rejoice.     Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.     תחטאני  באזוב 
ואטהר  תכבסני
ומשלג  אלבין׃
    ThChT'aNY B'aZVB V'aTHUr ThKBSNY VMShLG 'aLBYN.     Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter.     asparges me hysopo et mundabor lavabis me et super nivem dealbabor
 
9.    Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all of my iniquities.     Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.     תשמיעני  ששון 
ושמחה  תגלנה  עצמות
דכית׃
    ThShMY'yNY ShShVN VShMChH ThGLNH 'yTShMVTh DKYTh.     Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised.     auditum mihi facies gaudium et laetitiam ut exultent ossa quae confregisti
 
10.    Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.     Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.     הסתר  פניך  מחטאי 
וכל־עונתי  מחה׃
    HSThUr PhNYK MChT'aY VKL-'yVNThY MChH.     Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out.     absconde faciem tuam a peccatis meis et omnes iniquitates meas dele
 
11.    Don't throw me from your presence, and don't take your holy Spirit from me.     Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.     לב  טהור  ברא־לי 
אלהים  ורוח  נכון
חדש  בקרבי׃
    LB THVUr BUr'a-LY 'aLHYM VUrVCh NKVN ChDSh BQUrBY.     A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me.     cor mundum crea mihi Deus et spiritum stabilem renova in visceribus meis
 
12.    Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit.     Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.     אל־תשליכני  מלפניך 
ורוח  קדשך  אל־תקח
ממני׃
    'aL-ThShLYKNY MLPhNYK VUrVCh QDShK 'aL-ThQCh MMNY.     Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me.     ne proicias me a facie tua et spiritum sanctum tuum ne auferas a me
 
13.    Then I will teach transgressors your ways. Sinners shall be converted to you.     Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.     השיבה  לי  ששון 
ישעך  ורוח  נדיבה
תסמכני׃
    HShYBH LY ShShVN YSh'yK VUrVCh NDYBH ThSMKNY.     Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And a willing spirit doth sustain me.     redde mihi laetitiam Iesu tui et spiritu potenti confirma me
 
14.    Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation. My tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.     Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.     אלמדה  פשעים  דרכיך 
וחטאים  אליך
ישובו׃
    'aLMDH PhSh'yYM DUrKYK VChT'aYM 'aLYK YShVBV.     I teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners unto Thee do return.     docebo iniquos vias tuas et peccatores ad te revertentur
 
15.    Lord, open my lips. My mouth shall declare your praise.     O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.     הצילני  מדמים 
אלהים  אלהי  תשועתי
תרנן  לשוני  צדקתך׃
    HTShYLNY MDMYM 'aLHYM 'aLHY ThShV'yThY ThUrNN LShVNY TShDQThK.     Deliver me from blood, O God, God of my salvation, My tongue singeth of Thy righteousness.     libera me de sanguinibus Deus Deus salutis meae laudabit lingua mea iustitiam tuam
 
16.    For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering.     For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.     אדני  שפתי  תפתח 
ופי  יגיד  תהלתך׃
    'aDNY ShPhThY ThPhThCh VPhY YGYD ThHLThK.     O Lord, my lips thou dost open, And my mouth declareth Thy praise.     Domine labia mea aperies et os meum adnuntiabit laudem tuam
 
17.    The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.     The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.     כי  לא־תחפץ  זבח 
ואתנה  עולה  לא
תרצה׃
    KY L'a-ThChPhTSh ZBCh V'aThNH 'yVLH L'a ThUrTShH.     For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give it, Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not.     non enim vis ut victimam feriam nec holocaustum tibi placet
 
18.    Do well in your good pleasure to Zion. Build the walls of Jerusalem.     Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.     זבחי  אלהים  רוח 
נשברה  לב־נשבר
ונדכה  אלהים  לא
תבזה׃
    ZBChY 'aLHYM UrVCh NShBUrH LB-NShBUr VNDKH 'aLHYM L'a ThBZH.     The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise.     sacrificium Dei spiritus contribulatus cor contritum et humiliatum Deus non dispicies
 
19.    Then you will delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offerings and in whole burnt offerings. Then they will offer bulls on your altar.     Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.     היטיבה  ברצונך
