1.    When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don't know what has become of him."     And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.     וירא  העם  כי־בשש

    VYUr'a H'yM KY-BShSh MShH LUrDTh MN-HHUr VYQHL H'yM 'yL-'aHUrN VY'aMUrV 'aLYV QVM 'yShH-LNV 'aLHYM 'aShUr YLKV LPhNYNV KY-ZH MShH H'aYSh 'aShUr H'yLNV M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM L'a YD'yNV MH-HYH LV.     And the people see that Moses is delaying to come down from the mount, and the people assemble against Aaron, and say unto him, `Rise, make for us gods who go before us, for this Moses -- the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt -- we have not known what hath happened to him.`     videns autem populus quod moram faceret descendendi de monte Moses congregatus adversus Aaron ait surge fac nobis deos qui nos praecedant Mosi enim huic viro qui nos eduxit de terra Aegypti ignoramus quid acciderit
 
2.    Aaron said to them, "Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me."     And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.     ויאמר  אלהם  אהרן 
פרקו  נזמי  הזהב
אשר  באזני  נשיכם
בניכם  ובנתיכם
והביאו  אלי׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLHM 'aHUrN PhUrQV NZMY HZHB 'aShUr B'aZNY NShYKM BNYKM VBNThYKM VHBY'aV 'aLY.     And Aaron saith unto them, `Break off the rings of gold which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring in unto me;`     dixitque ad eos Aaron tollite inaures aureas de uxorum filiorumque et filiarum vestrarum auribus et adferte ad me
 
3.    All the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.     And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.     ויתפרקו  כל־העם

באזניהם  ויביאו
אל־אהרן׃
    VYThPhUrQV KL-H'yM 'aTh-NZMY HZHB 'aShUr B'aZNYHM VYBY'aV 'aL-'aHUrN.     and all the people themselves break off the rings of gold which are in their ears, and bring in unto Aaron,     fecit populus quae iusserat deferens inaures ad Aaron
 
4.    He received what they handed him, and fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molten calf; and they said, "These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt."     And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.     ויקח  מידם  ויצר 
אתו  בחרט  ויעשהו
עגל  מסכה  ויאמרו
אלה  אלהיך  ישראל
אשר  העלוך  מארץ
מצרים׃
    VYQCh MYDM VYTShUr 'aThV BChUrT VY'yShHV 'yGL MSKH VY'aMUrV 'aLH 'aLHYK YShUr'aL 'aShUr H'yLVK M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM.     and he receiveth from their hand, and doth fashion it with a graving tool, and doth make it a molten calf, and they say, `These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.`     quas cum ille accepisset formavit opere fusorio et fecit ex eis vitulum conflatilem dixeruntque hii sunt dii tui Israhel qui te eduxerunt de terra Aegypti
 
5.    When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, "Tomorrow shall be a feast to Yahweh."     And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.     וירא  אהרן  ויבן

7.    Yahweh spoke to Moses, "Go, get down; for your people, who you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!     And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:     וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לך־רד  כי  שחת  עמך
אשר  העלית  מארץ
מצרים׃
    VYDBUr YHVH 'aL-MShH LK-UrD KY ShChTh 'yMK 'aShUr H'yLYTh M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM.     And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go, descend, for thy people whom thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt hath done corruptly,     locutus est autem Dominus ad Mosen vade descende peccavit populus tuus quem eduxisti de terra Aegypti
 
8.    They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them.     SUrV MHUr MN-HDUrK 'aShUr TShVYThM 'yShV LHM 'yGL MSKH VYShThChVV-LV VYZBChV- LV VY'aMUrV 'aLH 'aLHYK YShUr'aL 'aShUr H'yLVK M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM.     they have turned aside hastily from the way that I have commanded them; they have made for themselves a molten calf, and bow themselves to it, and sacrifice to it, and say, These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.`     recesserunt cito de via quam ostendisti eis feceruntque sibi vitulum conflatilem et adoraverunt atque immolantes ei hostias dixerunt isti sunt dii tui Israhel qui te eduxerunt de terra Aegypti
 
9.    Yahweh said to Moses, "I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.     And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:     ויאמר  יהוה  אל־משה 
ראיתי  את־העם  הזה
והנה  עם־קשה־ערף
הוא׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-MShH Ur'aYThY 'aTh-H'yM HZH VHNH 'yM-QShH-'yUrPh HV'a.     And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `I have seen this people, and lo, it is a stiff-necked people;     rursumque ait Dominus ad Mosen cerno quod populus iste durae cervicis sit
 
10.    Now therefore leave me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them, and that I may consume them; and I will make of you a great nation."     Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.     ועתה  הניחה  לי 
ויחר־אפי  בהם
ואכלם  ואעשה  אותך
לגוי  גדול׃
    V'yThH HNYChH LY VYChUr-'aPhY BHM V'aKLM V'a'yShH 'aVThK LGVY GDVL.     and now, let Me alone, and My anger doth burn against them, and I consume them, and I make thee become a great nation.`     dimitte me ut irascatur furor meus contra eos et deleam eos faciamque te in gentem magnam
 
11.    Moses begged Yahweh his God, and said, "Yahweh, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?     And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?     ויחל  משה  את־פני 
יהוה  אלהיו  ויאמר
למה  יהוה  יחרה  אפך
בעמך  אשר  הוצאת
מארץ  מצרים  בכח
גדול  וביד  חזקה׃
    VYChL MShH 'aTh-PhNY YHVH 'aLHYV VY'aMUr LMH YHVH YChUrH 'aPhK B'yMK 'aShUr HVTSh'aTh M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM BKCh GDVL VBYD ChZQH.     And Moses appeaseth the face of Jehovah his God, and saith, `Why, O Jehovah, doth Thine anger burn against Thy people, whom Thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?     Moses autem orabat Dominum Deum suum dicens cur Domine irascitur furor tuus contra populum tuum quem eduxisti de terra Aegypti in fortitudine magna et in manu robusta
 
12.    Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, 'He brought them forth for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth?' Turn from your fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against your people.     Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.     למה  יאמרו  מצרים 
לאמר  ברעה  הוציאם
להרג  אתם  בהרים
ולכלתם  מעל  פני
האדמה  שוב  מחרון
אפך  והנחם  על־הרעה
לעמך׃
    LMH Y'aMUrV MTShUrYM L'aMUr BUr'yH HVTShY'aM LHUrG 'aThM BHUrYM VLKLThM M'yL PhNY H'aDMH ShVB MChUrVN 'aPhK VHNChM 'yL-HUr'yH L'yMK.     why do the Egyptians speak, saying, For evil He brought them out to slay them among mountains, and to consume them from off the face of the ground? turn back from the heat of Thine anger, and repent of the evil against Thy people.     ne quaeso dicant Aegyptii callide eduxit eos ut interficeret in montibus et deleret e terra quiescat ira tua et esto placabilis super nequitia populi tui
 
13.    Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.'"     Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.     זכר  לאברהם  ליצחק 
ולישראל  עבדיך  אשר
נשבעת  להם  בך
ותדבר  אלהם  ארבה

    ZKUr L'aBUrHM LYTShChQ VLYShUr'aL 'yBDYK 'aShUr NShB'yTh LHM BK VThDBUr 'aLHM 'aUrBH 'aTh-ZUr'yKM KKVKBY HShMYM VKL-H'aUrTSh HZ'aTh 'aShUr 'aMUrThY 'aThN LZUr'yKM VNChLV L'yLM.     `Be mindful of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, Thy servants, to whom Thou hast sworn by Thyself, and unto whom Thou speakest: I multiply your seed as stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I give to your seed, and they have inherited to the age;`     recordare Abraham Isaac et Israhel servorum tuorum quibus iurasti per temet ipsum dicens multiplicabo semen vestrum sicut stellas caeli et universam terram hanc de qua locutus sum dabo semini vestro et possidebitis eam semper
 
14.    Yahweh repented of the evil which he said he would do to his people.     And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.     וינחם  יהוה 
על־הרעה  אשר  דבר
לעשות  לעמו׃
    VYNChM YHVH 'yL-HUr'yH 'aShUr DBUr L'yShVTh L'yMV.     and Jehovah repenteth of the evil which He hath spoken of doing to His people.     placatusque est Dominus ne faceret malum quod locutus fuerat adversus populum suum
 
15.    Moses turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand; tablets that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.     And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.     ויפן  וירד  משה

העדת  בידו  לחת

16.    The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tables.     And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.     והלחת  מעשה  אלהים

17.    When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, "There is the noise of war in the camp."     And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.     וישמע  יהושע 
את־קול  העם  ברעה
ויאמר  אל־משה  קול
מלחמה  במחנה׃
    VYShM'y YHVSh'y 'aTh-QVL H'yM BUr'yH VY'aMUr 'aL-MShH QVL MLChMH BMChNH.     And Joshua heareth the voice of the people in their shouting, and saith unto Moses, `A noise of battle in the camp!`     audiens autem Iosue tumultum populi vociferantis dixit ad Mosen ululatus pugnae auditur in castris
 
18.    He said, "It isn't the voice of those who shout for victory, neither is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear."     And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.     ויאמר  אין  קול 
ענות  גבורה  ואין
קול  ענות  חלושה
קול  ענות  אנכי
שמע׃
    VY'aMUr 'aYN QVL 'yNVTh GBVUrH V'aYN QVL 'yNVTh ChLVShH QVL 'yNVTh 'aNKY ShM'y.     and he saith, `It is not the voice of the crying of might, nor is it the voice of the crying of weakness -- a voice of singing I am hearing.`     qui respondit non est clamor adhortantium ad pugnam neque vociferatio conpellentium ad fugam sed vocem cantantium ego audio
 
19.    It happened, as soon as he came near to the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moses' anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.     And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.     ויהי  כאשר  קרב 
אל־המחנה  וירא
את־העגל  ומחלת
ויחר־אף  משה  וישלך
מידו  את־הלחת
וישבר  אתם  תחת
ההר׃
    VYHY K'aShUr QUrB 'aL-HMChNH VYUr'a 'aTh-H'yGL VMChLTh VYChUr-'aPh MShH VYShLK MYDV 'aTh-HLChTh VYShBUr 'aThM ThChTh HHUr.     And it cometh to pass, when he hath drawn near unto the camp, that he seeth the calf, and the dancing, and the anger of Moses burneth, and he casteth out of his hands the tables, and breaketh them under the mount;     cumque adpropinquasset ad castra vidit vitulum et choros iratusque valde proiecit de manu tabulas et confregit eas ad radices montis
 
20.    He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.     And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.     ויקח  את־העגל  אשר 
עשו  וישרף  באש
ויטחן  עד  אשר־דק

    VYQCh 'aTh-H'yGL 'aShUr 'yShV VYShUrPh B'aSh VYTChN 'yD 'aShUr-DQ VYZUr 'yL-PhNY HMYM VYShQ 'aTh-BNY YShUr'aL.     and he taketh the calf which they have made, and burneth it with fire, and grindeth until it is small, and scattereth on the face of the waters, and causeth the sons of Israel to drink.     arripiensque vitulum quem fecerant conbusit et contrivit usque ad pulverem quem sparsit in aqua et dedit ex eo potum filiis Israhel
 
21.    Moses said to Aaron, "What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?"     And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?     ויאמר  משה  אל־אהרן 
מה־עשה  לך  העם  הזה
כי־הבאת  עליו  חטאה
גדלה׃
    VY'aMUr MShH 'aL-'aHUrN MH-'yShH LK H'yM HZH KY-HB'aTh 'yLYV ChT'aH GDLH.     And Moses saith unto Aaron, `What hath this people done to thee, that thou hast brought in upon it a great sin?`     dixitque ad Aaron quid tibi fecit hic populus ut induceres super eum peccatum maximum
 
22.    Aaron said, "Don't let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.     And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.     ויאמר  אהרן  אל־יחר 
אף  אדני  אתה  ידעת
את־העם  כי  ברע
הוא׃
    VY'aMUr 'aHUrN 'aL-YChUr 'aPh 'aDNY 'aThH YD'yTh 'aTh-H'yM KY BUr'y HV'a.     and Aaron saith, `Let not the anger of my lord burn; thou -- thou hast known the people that it is in evil;     cui ille respondit ne indignetur dominus meus tu enim nosti populum istum quod pronus sit ad malum
 
23.    For they said to me, 'Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don't know what has become of him.'     For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.     ויאמרו  לי  עשה־לנו 
אלהים  אשר  ילכו

    VY'aMUrV LY 'yShH-LNV 'aLHYM 'aShUr YLKV LPhNYNV KY-ZH MShH H'aYSh 'aShUr H'yLNV M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM L'a YD'yNV MH-HYH LV.     and they say to me, Make for us gods, who go before us, for this Moses -- the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt -- we have not known what hath happened to him;     dixerunt mihi fac nobis deos qui praecedant nos huic enim Mosi qui nos eduxit de terra Aegypti nescimus quid acciderit
 
24.    I said to them, 'Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:' so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf."     And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.     ואמר  להם  למי  זהב 
התפרקו  ויתנו־לי
ואשלכהו  באש  ויצא
העגל  הזה׃
    V'aMUr LHM LMY ZHB HThPhUrQV VYThNV-LY V'aShLKHV B'aSh VYTSh'a H'yGL HZH.     and I say to them, Whoso hath gold, let them break it off, and they give to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf cometh out.`     quibus ego dixi quis vestrum habet aurum tulerunt et dederunt mihi et proieci illud in ignem egressusque est hic vitulus
 
25.    When Moses saw that the people had broken loose, (for Aaron had let them loose for a derision among their enemies),     And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)     וירא  משה  את־העם 
כי  פרע  הוא
כי־פרעה  אהרן
לשמצה  בקמיהם׃
    VYUr'a MShH 'aTh-H'yM KY PhUr'y HV'a KY-PhUr'yH 'aHUrN LShMTShH BQMYHM.     And Moses seeth the people that it is unbridled, for Aaron hath made it unbridled for contempt among its withstanders,     videns ergo Moses populum quod esset nudatus spoliaverat enim eum Aaron propter ignominiam sordis et inter hostes nudum constituerat
 
26.    then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, "Whoever is on Yahweh's side, come to me!" All the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.     Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.     ויעמד  משה  בשער 
המחנה  ויאמר  מי
ליהוה  אלי  ויאספו
אליו  כל־בני  לוי׃
    VY'yMD MShH BSh'yUr HMChNH VY'aMUr MY LYHVH 'aLY VY'aSPhV 'aLYV KL-BNY LVY.     and Moses standeth in the gate of the camp, and saith, `Who is for Jehovah? -- unto me!` and all the sons of Levi are gathered unto him;     et stans in porta castrorum ait si quis est Domini iungatur mihi congregatique sunt ad eum omnes filii Levi
 
27.    He said to them, "Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.'"     And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.     ויאמר  להם  כה־אמר 
יהוה  אלהי  ישראל
שימו  איש־חרבו
על־ירכו  עברו
ושובו  משער  לשער
במחנה  והרגו
איש־את־אחיו  ואיש
את־רעהו  ואיש  את־
קרבו׃
    VY'aMUr LHM KH-'aMUr YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL ShYMV 'aYSh-ChUrBV 'yL-YUrKV 'yBUrV VShVBV MSh'yUr LSh'yUr BMChNH VHUrGV 'aYSh-'aTh-'aChYV V'aYSh 'aTh-Ur'yHV V'aYSh 'aTh- QUrBV.     and he saith to them, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Put each his sword by his thigh, pass over and turn back from gate to gate through the camp, and slay each his brother, and each his friend, and each his relation.`     quibus ait haec dicit Dominus Deus Israhel ponat vir gladium super femur suum ite et redite de porta usque ad portam per medium castrorum et occidat unusquisque fratrem et amicum et proximum suum
 
28.    The sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.     And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.     ויעשו  בני־לוי 
כדבר  משה  ויפל
מן־העם  ביום  ההוא
כשלשת  אלפי  איש׃
    VY'yShV BNY-LVY KDBUr MShH VYPhL MN-H'yM BYVM HHV'a KShLShTh 'aLPhY 'aYSh.     And the sons of Levi do according to the word of Moses, and there fall of the people on that day about three thousand men,     fecerunt filii Levi iuxta sermonem Mosi cecideruntque in die illo quasi tria milia hominum
 
29.    Moses said, "Consecrate yourselves today to Yahweh, yes, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow on you a blessing this day."     For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.     ויאמר  משה  מלאו 
ידכם  היום  ליהוה
כי  איש  בבנו
ובאחיו  ולתת  עליכם
היום  ברכה׃
    VY'aMUr MShH ML'aV YDKM HYVM LYHVH KY 'aYSh BBNV VB'aChYV VLThTh 'yLYKM HYVM BUrKH.     and Moses saith, `Consecrate your hand to-day to Jehovah, for a man is against his son, and against his brother, so as to bring on you to-day a blessing.`     et ait Moses consecrastis manus vestras hodie Domino unusquisque in filio et fratre suo ut detur vobis benedictio
 
30.    It happened on the next day, that Moses said to the people, "You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to Yahweh. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin."     And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.     ויהי  ממחרת  ויאמר 
משה  אל־העם  אתם
חטאתם  חטאה  גדלה
ועתה  אעלה  אל־
יהוה  אולי  אכפרה
בעד  חטאתכם׃
    VYHY MMChUrTh VY'aMUr MShH 'aL-H'yM 'aThM ChT'aThM ChT'aH GDLH V'yThH 'a'yLH 'aL- YHVH 'aVLY 'aKPhUrH B'yD ChT'aThKM.     And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that Moses saith unto the people, `Ye -- ye have sinned a great sin, and now I go up unto Jehovah, if so be I atone for your sin.`     facto autem die altero locutus est Moses ad populum peccastis peccatum maximum ascendam ad Dominum si quo modo eum quivero deprecari pro scelere vestro
 
31.    Moses returned to Yahweh, and said, "Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.     And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.     וישב  משה  אל־יהוה 
ויאמר  אנא  חטא  העם
הזה  חטאה  גדלה
ויעשו  להם  אלהי
זהב׃
    VYShB MShH 'aL-YHVH VY'aMUr 'aN'a ChT'a H'yM HZH ChT'aH GDLH VY'yShV LHM 'aLHY ZHB.     And Moses turneth back unto Jehovah, and saith, `Oh this people hath sinned a great sin, that they make to themselves a god of gold;     reversusque ad Dominum ait obsecro peccavit populus iste peccatum magnum feceruntque sibi deos aureos aut dimitte eis hanc noxam
 
32.    Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin--and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written."     Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.     ועתה  אם־תשא  חטאתם 
ואם־אין  מחני  נא
מספרך  אשר  כתבת׃
    V'yThH 'aM-ThSh'a ChT'aThM V'aM-'aYN MChNY N'a MSPhUrK 'aShUr KThBTh.     and now, if Thou takest away their sin -- and if not -- blot me, I pray thee, out of Thy book which Thou hast written.`     aut si non facis dele me de libro tuo quem scripsisti
 
33.    Yahweh said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.     And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.     ויאמר  יהוה  אל־משה 
מי  אשר  חטא־לי
אמחנו  מספרי׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-MShH MY 'aShUr ChT'a-LY 'aMChNV MSPhUrY.     And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Whoso hath sinned against Me -- I blot him out of My book;     cui respondit Dominus qui peccaverit mihi delebo eum de libro meo
 
34.    Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin."     Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.     ועתה  לך  נחה 
את־העם  אל
אשר־דברתי  לך  הנה
מלאכי  ילך  לפניך
וביום  פקדי  ופקדתי
עלהם  חטאתם׃
    V'yThH LK NChH 'aTh-H'yM 'aL 'aShUr-DBUrThY LK HNH ML'aKY YLK LPhNYK VBYVM PhQDY VPhQDThY 'yLHM ChT'aThM.     and now, go, lead the people whithersoever I have spoken to thee of; lo, My messenger goeth before thee, and in the day of my charging -- then I have charged upon them their sin.`     tu autem vade et duc populum istum quo locutus sum tibi angelus meus praecedet te ego autem in die ultionis visitabo et hoc peccatum eorum
 
35.    Yahweh struck the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.     And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.     ויגף  יהוה  את־העם 
על  אשר  עשו
את־העגל  אשר  עשה
אהרן׃
    VYGPh YHVH 'aTh-H'yM 'yL 'aShUr 'yShV 'aTh-H'yGL 'aShUr 'yShH 'aHUrN.     And Jehovah plagueth the people, because they made the calf which Aaron made.     percussit ergo Dominus populum pro reatu vituli quem fecit Aaron
