    ChT'aTh YHVDH KThVBH B'yT BUrZL BTShPhUrN ShMYUr ChUrVShH 'yL-LVCh LBM VLQUrNVTh MZBChVThYKM.     The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, With the point of a diamond, Graven on the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars,     peccatum Iuda scriptum est stilo ferreo in ungue adamantino exaratum super latitudinem cordis eorum et in cornibus ararum eorum
 
2.    while their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees on the high hills.     Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.     כזכר  בניהם

    KZKUr BNYHM MZBChVThM V'aShUrYHM 'yL-'yTSh Ur'yNN 'yL GB'yVTh HGBHVTh.     As their sons remember their altars and their shrines, By the green tree, by the high hills.     cum recordati fuerint filii eorum ararum suarum et lucorum lignorumque frondentium in montibus excelsis
 
3.    My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a spoil, [and] your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.     O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.     הררי  בשדה  חילך

אתן  במתיך  בחטאת
בכל־גבוליך׃
    HUrUrY BShDH ChYLK KL-'aVTShUrVThYK LBZ 'aThN BMThYK BChT'aTh BKL-GBVLYK.     O My mountain in the field -- thy strength, All thy treasures -- for a prey I give, Thy high places for sin in all thy borders.     sacrificantes in agro fortitudinem tuam et omnes thesauros tuos in direptionem dabo excelsa tua propter peccata in universis finibus tuis
 
4.    You, even of yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don't know: for you have kindled a fire in my anger which shall burn forever.     And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.     ושמטתה  ובך  מנחלתך

    VShMTThH VBK MNChLThK 'aShUr NThThY LK VH'yBDThYK 'aTh-'aYBYK B'aUrTSh 'aShUr L'a- YD'yTh KY-'aSh QDChThM B'aPhY 'yD-'yVLM ThVQD.     And thou hast let go -- even through thyself, Of thine inheritance that I gave to thee, And I have caused thee to serve thine enemies, In a land that thou hast not known, For a fire ye have kindled in Mine anger, Unto the age it doth burn.     et relinqueris sola ab hereditate tua quam dedi tibi et servire te faciam inimicis tuis in terra quam ignoras quoniam ignem succendisti in furore meo usque in aeternum ardebit
 
5.    Thus says Yahweh: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.     Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.     כה  אמר  יהוה  ארור

באדם  ושם  בשר  זרעו

    KH 'aMUr YHVH 'aUrVUr HGBUr 'aShUr YBTCh B'aDM VShM BShUr ZUr'yV VMN-YHVH YSVUr LBV.     Thus said Jehovah: Cursed is the man who doth trust in man, And hath made flesh his arm, And from Jehovah whose heart turneth.     haec dicit Dominus maledictus homo qui confidit in homine et ponit carnem brachium suum et a Domino recedit cor eius

    VHYH K'yUr'yUr B'yUrBH VL'a YUr'aH KY-YBV'a TVB VShKN ChUrUrYM BMDBUr 'aUrTSh MLChH VL'a ThShB.     And he hath been as a naked thing in a desert, And doth not see when good cometh, And hath inhabited parched places in a wilderness, A salt land, and not inhabited.     erit enim quasi myrice in deserto et non videbit cum venerit bonum sed habitabit in siccitate in deserto in terra salsuginis et inhabitabili
 
7.    Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose trust Yahweh is.     Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.     ברוך  הגבר  אשר 
יבטח  ביהוה  והיה
יהוה  מבטחו׃
    BUrVK HGBUr 'aShUr YBTCh BYHVH VHYH YHVH MBTChV.     Blessed is the man who trusteth in Jehovah, And whose confidence hath been Jehovah.     benedictus vir qui confidit in Domino et erit Dominus fiducia eius
 
8.    For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.     For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.     והיה  כעץ  שתול

ידאג  ולא  ימיש
מעשות  פרי׃
    VHYH K'yTSh ShThVL 'yL-MYM V'yL-YVBL YShLCh ShUrShYV VL'a YUr'a KY-YB'a ChM VHYH 'yLHV Ur'yNN VBShNTh BTShUrTh L'a YD'aG VL'a YMYSh M'yShVTh PhUrY.     And hath been as a tree planted by waters, And by a rivulet he sendeth forth his roots, And he doth not see when heat cometh, And his leaf hath been green, And in a year of dearth he is not sorrowful, Nor doth he cease from making fruit.     et erit quasi lignum quod transplantatur super aquas quod ad humorem mittit radices suas et non timebit cum venerit aestus et erit folium eius viride et in tempore siccitatis non erit sollicitum nec aliquando desinet facere fructum
 
9.    The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?     The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?     עקב  הלב  מכל  ואנש

10.    I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.     I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.     אני  יהוה  חקר  לב 
בחן  כליות  ולתת
לאיש  כדרכו  כפרי
מעלליו׃
    'aNY YHVH ChQUr LB BChN KLYVTh VLThTh L'aYSh KDUrKV KPhUrY M'yLLYV.     I Jehovah do search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings.     ego Dominus scrutans cor et probans renes qui do unicuique iuxta viam et iuxta fructum adinventionum suarum
 
11.    As the partridge that sits on [eggs] which she has not laid, so is he who gets riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.     As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.     קרא  דגר  ולא  ילד 
עשה  עשר  ולא  במשפט
בחצי  ימו  יעזבנו
ובאחריתו  יהיה
נבל׃
    QUr'a DGUr VL'a YLD 'yShH 'yShUr VL'a BMShPhT BChTShY YMV Y'yZBNV VB'aChUrYThV YHYH NBL.     A partridge hatching, and not bringing forth, Is one making wealth, and not by right, In the midst of his days he doth forsake it, And in his latter end -- he is a fool.     perdix fovit quae non peperit fecit divitias et non in iudicio in dimidio dierum suorum derelinquet eas et in novissimo suo erit insipiens
 
12.    A glorious throne, [set] on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.     A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.     כסא  כבוד  מרום

13.    Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be disappointed. Those who depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.     O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.     מקוה  ישראל  יהוה 
כל־עזביך  יבשו
יסורי  בארץ  יכתבו
כי  עזבו  מקור
מים־חיים  את־יהוה׃
    MQVH YShUr'aL YHVH KL-'yZBYK YBShV YSVUrY B'aUrTSh YKThBV KY 'yZBV MQVUr MYM-ChYYM 'aTh-YHVH.     The hope of Israel is Jehovah, All forsaking Thee are ashamed, And `My apostates` in the earth are written, For they have forsaken Jehovah, A fountain of living waters.     expectatio Israhel Domine omnes qui te derelinquunt confundentur recedentes in terra scribentur quoniam dereliquerunt venam aquarum viventium Dominum
 
14.    Heal me, O Yahweh, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise.     Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.     רפאני  יהוה  וארפא 
הושיעני  ואושעה  כי
תהלתי  אתה׃
    UrPh'aNY YHVH V'aUrPh'a HVShY'yNY V'aVSh'yH KY ThHLThY 'aThH.     Heal me, O Jehovah, and I am healed, Save me, and I am saved, for my praise art Thou.     sana me Domine et sanabor salvum me fac et salvus ero quoniam laus mea tu es
 
15.    Behold, they tell me, Where is the word of Yahweh? let it come now.     Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.     הנה־המה  אמרים  אלי 
איה  דבר־יהוה  יבוא

    HNH-HMH 'aMUrYM 'aLY 'aYH DBUr-YHVH YBV'a N'a.     Lo, they are saying unto me: `Where is the word of Jehovah? pray, let it come.`     ecce ipsi dicunt ad me ubi est verbum Domini veniat
 
16.    As for me, I have not hurried from being a shepherd after you; neither have I desired the woeful day; you know: that which came out of my lips was before your face.     As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.     ואני  לא־אצתי  מרעה 
אחריך  ויום  אנוש
לא  התאויתי  אתה
ידעת  מוצא  שפתי
נכח  פניך  היה׃
    V'aNY L'a-'aTShThY MUr'yH 'aChUrYK VYVM 'aNVSh L'a HTh'aVYThY 'aThH YD'yTh MVTSh'a ShPhThY NKCh PhNYK HYH.     And I hastened not from feeding after Thee, And the desperate day I have not desired, Thou -- Thou hast known, The produce of my lips, before Thy face it hath been,     et ego non sum turbatus te pastorem sequens et diem hominis non desideravi tu scis quod egressum est de labiis meis rectum in conspectu tuo fuit
 
17.    Don't be a terror to me: you are my refuge in the day of evil.     Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.     אל־תהיה־לי  למחתה

18.    Let them be disappointed who persecute me, but let not me be disappointed; let them be dismayed, but don't let me be dismayed; bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.     Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.     יבשו  רדפי 
ואל־אבשה  אני  יחתו
המה  ואל־אחתה  אני
הביא  עליהם  יום
רעה  ומשנה  שברון
שברם׃
    YBShV UrDPhY V'aL-'aBShH 'aNY YChThV HMH V'aL-'aChThH 'aNY HBY'a 'yLYHM YVM Ur'yH VMShNH ShBUrVN ShBUrM.     Let my pursuers be ashamed, and let not me be ashamed -- me! Let them be affrighted, and let not me be affrighted -- me! 19.    Thus said Yahweh to me: Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, through which the kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;     Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;     כה־אמר  יהוה  אלי 
הלך  ועמדת  בשער
בני־עם  אשר  יבאו
בו  מלכי  יהודה
ואשר  יצאו  בו  ובכל
שערי  ירושלם׃
    KH-'aMUr YHVH 'aLY HLK V'yMDTh BSh'yUr BNY-'yM 'aShUr YB'aV BV MLKY YHVDH V'aShUr YTSh'aV BV VBKL Sh'yUrY YUrVShLM.     Thus said Jehovah unto me: `Go, and thou hast stood in the gate of the sons of the people, by which kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all gates of Jerusalem,     haec dicit Dominus ad me vade et sta in porta filiorum populi per quam ingrediuntur reges Iuda et egrediuntur et in cunctis portis Hierusalem
 
20.    and tell them, Hear the word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:     And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:     ואמרת  אליהם  שמעו 
דבר־יהוה  מלכי
יהודה  וכל־יהודה
וכל  ישבי  ירושלם
הבאים  בשערים
האלה׃
    V'aMUrTh 'aLYHM ShM'yV DBUr-YHVH MLKY YHVDH VKL-YHVDH VKL YShBY YUrVShLM HB'aYM BSh'yUrYM H'aLH.     and thou hast said unto them: Hear a word of Jehovah, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, who are coming in by these gates,     et dices ad eos audite verbum Domini reges Iuda et omnis Iudaea cunctique habitatores Hierusalem qui ingredimini per portas istas
 
21.    Thus says Yahweh, Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;     Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;     כה  אמר  יהוה  השמרו

    VL'a-ThVTShY'aV MSh'a MBThYKM BYVM HShBTh VKL-ML'aKH L'a Th'yShV VQDShThM 'aTh- YVM HShBTh K'aShUr TShVYThY 'aTh-'aBVThYKM.     Nor do ye take out a burden from your houses on the day of rest, Yea, any work ye do not do, And ye have sanctified the day of rest, As I have commanded your fathers.     et nolite eicere onera de domibus vestris in die sabbati et omne opus non facietis sanctificate diem sabbati sicut praecepi patribus vestris
 
23.    But they didn't listen, neither turn their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.     But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.     ולא  שמעו  ולא  הטו

את־ערפם  לבלתי
שומע  ולבלתי  קחת
מוסר׃
    VL'a ShM'yV VL'a HTV 'aTh-'aZNM VYQShV 'aTh-'yUrPhM LBLThY ShVM'y VLBLThY QChTh MVSUr.     And they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, And they stiffen their neck not to hear, And not to receive instruction.     et non audierunt nec inclinaverunt aurem suam sed induraverunt cervicem suam ne audirent me et ne acciperent disciplinam
 
24.    It shall happen, if you diligently listen to me, says Yahweh, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to make the Sabbath day holy, to do no work therein;     And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;     והיה  אם־שמע 
תשמעון  אלי
נאם־יהוה  לבלתי
הביא  משא  בשערי
העיר  הזאת  ביום
השבת  ולקדש  את־יום
השבת  לבלתי
עשות־בה  כל־מלאכה׃
    VHYH 'aM-ShM'y ThShM'yVN 'aLY N'aM-YHVH LBLThY HBY'a MSh'a BSh'yUrY H'yYUr HZ'aTh BYVM HShBTh VLQDSh 'aTh-YVM HShBTh LBLThY 'yShVTh-BH KL-ML'aKH.     And it hath been, if ye certainly hearken unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, So as not to bring in a burden By the gates of this city on the day of rest, And to sanctify the day of rest, So as not to do in it any work --     et erit si audieritis me dicit Dominus ut non inferatis onera per portas civitatis huius in die sabbati et si sanctificaveritis diem sabbati ne faciatis in ea omne opus
 
25.    then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain forever.     Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.     ובאו  בשערי  העיר 
הזאת  מלכים  ושרים
ישבים  על־כסא  דוד
רכבים  ברכב
ובסוסים  המה
ושריהם  איש  יהודה
וישבי  ירושלם
וישבה  העיר־הזאת
לעולם׃
    VB'aV BSh'yUrY H'yYUr HZ'aTh MLKYM VShUrYM YShBYM 'yL-KS'a DVD UrKBYM BUrKB VBSVSYM HMH VShUrYHM 'aYSh YHVDH VYShBY YUrVShLM VYShBH H'yYUr-HZ'aTh L'yVLM.     Then entered by the gates of this city have kings and princes, Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in a chariot, and on horses, They, and their princes, the man of Judah, And inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city hath remained to the age.     ingredientur per portas civitatis huius reges et principes sedentes super solium David et ascendentes in curribus et equis ipsi et principes eorum vir Iuda et habitatores Hierusalem et habitabitur civitas haec in sempiternum
 
26.    They shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the hill country, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meal offerings, and frankincense, and bringing [sacrifices of] thanksgiving, to the house of Yahweh.     And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.     ובאו  מערי־יהודה 
ומסביבות  ירושלם
ומארץ  בנימן
ומן־השפלה  ומן־
ההר  ומן־הנגב
מבאים  עולה  וזבח
ומנחה  ולבונה
ומבאי  תודה  בית
יהוה׃
    VB'aV M'yUrY-YHVDH VMSBYBVTh YUrVShLM VM'aUrTSh BNYMN VMN-HShPhLH VMN- HHUr VMN-HNGB MB'aYM 'yVLH VZBCh VMNChH VLBVNH VMB'aY ThVDH BYTh YHVH.     And they have come in from cities of Judah, And from suburbs of Jerusalem, And from the land of Benjamin, And from the low country, And from the hill-country, and from the south, Bringing in burnt-offering, and sacrifice, And present, and frankincense, And bringing praise to the house of Jehovah.     et venient de civitate Iuda et de circuitu Hierusalem et de terra Beniamin et de campestribus et de montuosis et ab austro portantes holocaustum et victimam et sacrificium et tus et inferent oblationem in domum Domini
 
27.    But if you will not listen to me to make the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.     But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.     ואם־לא  תשמעו  אלי 
לקדש  את־יום  השבת
ולבלתי  שאת  משא
ובא  בשערי  ירושלם
ביום  השבת  והצתי
אש  בשעריה  ואכלה
ארמנות  ירושלם  ולא
תכבה׃
