1.    Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.     He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.     ויקרא  באזני  קול 
גדול  לאמר  קרבו
פקדות  העיר  ואיש
כלי  משחתו  בידו׃
    VYQUr'a B'aZNY QVL GDVL L'aMUr QUrBV PhQDVTh H'yYUr V'aYSh KLY MShChThV BYDV.     And He crieth in mine ears -- a loud voice -- saying, `Drawn near have inspectors of the city, and each his destroying weapon in his hand.`     et clamavit in auribus meis voce magna dicens adpropinquaverunt visitationes urbis et unusquisque vas interfectionis habet in manu sua
 
2.    Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the bronze altar.     And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.     והנה  ששה  אנשים 
באים  מדרך־שער
העליון  אשר  מפנה
צפונה  ואיש  כלי
מפצו  בידו
ואיש־אחד  בתוכם
לבש  בדים  וקסת
הספר  במתניו  ויבאו
ויעמדו  אצל  מזבח
הנחשת׃
    VHNH ShShH 'aNShYM B'aYM MDUrK-Sh'yUr H'yLYVN 'aShUr MPhNH TShPhVNH V'aYSh KLY MPhTShV BYDV V'aYSh-'aChD BThVKM LBSh BDYM VQSTh HSPhUr BMThNYV VYB'aV VY'yMDV 'aTShL MZBCh HNChShTh.     And lo, six men are coming from the way of the upper gate, that is facing the north, and each his slaughter-weapon in his hand, and one man in their midst is clothed with linen, and a scribe`s inkhorn at his loins, and they come in, and stand near the brazen altar.     et ecce sex viri veniebant de via portae superioris quae respicit ad aquilonem et uniuscuiusque vas interitus in manu eius vir quoque unus in medio eorum vestitus lineis et atramentarium scriptoris ad renes eius et ingressi sunt et steterunt iuxta altare aereum
 
3.    The glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house: and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer's inkhorn by his side.     And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;     וכבוד  אלהי  ישראל 
נעלה  מעל  הכרוב
אשר  היה  עליו  אל
מפתן  הבית  ויקרא
אל־האיש  הלבש
הבדים  אשר  קסת
הספר  במתניו׃
    VKBVD 'aLHY YShUr'aL N'yLH M'yL HKUrVB 'aShUr HYH 'yLYV 'aL MPhThN HBYTh VYQUr'a 'aL-H'aYSh HLBSh HBDYM 'aShUr QSTh HSPhUr BMThNYV.     And the honour of the God of Israel hath gone up from off the cherub, on which it hath been, unto the threshold of the house.     et gloria Domini Israhel adsumpta est de cherub quae erat super eum ad limen domus et vocavit virum qui indutus erat lineis et atramentarium scriptoris habebat in lumbis suis
 
4.    Yahweh said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done in its midst.     And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.     ויאמר  יהוה  אלו 
עבר  בתוך  העיר
בתוך  ירושלם
והתוית  תו
על־מצחות  האנשים
הנאנחים  והנאנקים
על  כל־התועבות
הנעשות  בתוכה׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aLV 'yBUr BThVK H'yYUr BThVK YUrVShLM VHThVYTh ThV 'yL-MTShChVTh H'aNShYM HN'aNChYM VHN'aNQYM 'yL KL-HThV'yBVTh HN'yShVTh BThVKH.     And He calleth unto the man who is clothed with linen, who hath the scribe`s inkhorn at his loins, and Jehovah saith unto him, `Pass on into the midst of the city, into the midst of Jerusalem, and thou hast made a mark on the foreheads of the men who are sighing and who are groaning for all the abominations that are done in its midst.`     et dixit Dominus ad eum transi per mediam civitatem in medio Hierusalem et signa thau super frontes virorum gementium et dolentium super cunctis abominationibus quae fiunt in medio eius
 
5.    To the others he said in my hearing, Go through the city after him, and strike: don't let your eye spare, neither have pity;     And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:     ולאלה  אמר  באזני 
עברו  בעיר  אחריו
והכו  על־תחס
עיניכם  ואל־תחמלו׃
    VL'aLH 'aMUr B'aZNY 'yBUrV B'yYUr 'aChUrYV VHKV 'yL-ThChS 'yYNYKM V'aL-ThChMLV.     And to the others he said in mine ears, `Pass on into the city after him, and smite; your eye doth not pity, nor do ye spare;     et illis dixit audiente me transite per civitatem sequentes eum et percutite non parcat oculus vester neque misereamini
 
6.    kill utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin, and little children and women; but don't come near any man on whom is the mark: and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men that were before the house.     Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.     זקן  בחור  ובתולה 
וטף  ונשים  תהרגו
למשחית  ועל־כל־איש
אשר־עליו  התו
אל־תגשו  וממקדשי
תחלו  ויחלו  באנשים
הזקנים  אשר  לפני
הבית׃
    ZQN BChVUr VBThVLH VTPh VNShYM ThHUrGV LMShChYTh V'yL-KL-'aYSh 'aShUr-'yLYV HThV 'aL-ThGShV VMMQDShY ThChLV VYChLV B'aNShYM HZQNYM 'aShUr LPhNY HBYTh.     aged, young man, and virgin, and infant, and women, ye do slay -- to destruction; and against any man on whom is the mark ye do not go nigh, and from My sanctuary ye begin.`     senem adulescentulum et virginem parvulum et mulieres interficite usque ad internicionem omnem autem super quem videritis thau ne occidatis et a sanctuario meo incipite coeperunt ergo a viris senioribus qui erant ante faciem domus
 
7.    He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth! They went forth, and struck in the city.     And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.     ויאמר  אליהם  טמאו 
את־הבית  ומלאו
את־החצרות  חללים
צאו  ויצאו  והכו
בעיר׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLYHM TM'aV 'aTh-HBYTh VML'aV 'aTh-HChTShUrVTh ChLLYM TSh'aV VYTSh'aV VHKV B'yYUr.     And they begin among the aged men who are before the house, and He saith unto them, `Defile the house, and fill the courts with the wounded, go forth.` And they have gone forth and have smitten in the city.     et dixit ad eos contaminate domum et implete atria interfectis egredimini et egressi sunt et percutiebant eos qui erant in civitate
 
8.    It happened, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell on my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?     And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?     ויהי  כהכותם 
ונאשאר  אני  ואפלה
על־פני  ואזעק  ואמר
אהה  אדני  יהוה
המשחית  אתה  את
כל־שארית  ישראל
בשפכך  את־חמתך
על־ירושלם׃
    VYHY KHKVThM VN'aSh'aUr 'aNY V'aPhLH 'yL-PhNY V'aZ'yQ V'aMUr 'aHH 'aDNY YHVH HMShChYTh 'aThH 'aTh KL-Sh'aUrYTh YShUr'aL BShPhKK 'aTh-ChMThK 'yL-YUrVShLM.     And it cometh to pass, as they are smiting, and I -- I am left -- that I fall on my face, and cry, and say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, art Thou destroying all the remnant of Israel, in Thy pouring out Thy wrath on Jerusalem?`     et caede conpleta remansi ego ruique super faciem meam et clamans aio heu heu heu Domine Deus ergone disperdes omnes reliquias Israhel effundens furorem tuum super Hierusalem
 
9.    Then said he to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion: for they say, Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh doesn't see.     Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.     ויאמר  אלי  עון 
בית־ישראל  ויהודה
גדול  במאד  מאד
ותמלא  הארץ  דמים
והעיר  מלאה  מטה  כי
אמרו  עזב  יהוה
את־הארץ  ואין  יהוה
ראה׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLY 'yVN BYTh-YShUr'aL VYHVDH GDVL BM'aD M'aD VThML'a H'aUrTSh DMYM VH'yYUr ML'aH MTH KY 'aMUrV 'yZB YHVH 'aTh-H'aUrTSh V'aYN YHVH Ur'aH.     And He saith unto me, `The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is very very great, and the land is full of blood, and the city hath been full of perverseness, for they have said: Jehovah hath forsaken the land, and Jehovah is not seeing.     et dixit ad me iniquitas domus Israhel et Iuda magna est nimis valde et repleta est terra sanguinibus et civitas repleta est aversione dixerunt enim dereliquit Dominus terram et Dominus non videt
 
10.    As for me also, my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.     And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.     וגם־אני  לא־תחוס 
עיני  ולא  אחמל
דרכם  בראשם  נתתי׃
    VGM-'aNY L'a-ThChVS 'yYNY VL'a 'aChML DUrKM BUr'aShM NThThY.     And I also, Mine eye doth not pity, nor do I spare; their way on their own head I have put.`     igitur et meus non parcet oculus neque miserebor viam eorum super caput eorum reddam
 
11.    Behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as you have commanded me.     And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.     והנה  האיש  לבש 
הבדים  אשר  הקסת
במתניו  משיב  דבר
לאמר  עשיתי  כאשר
צויתני׃
    VHNH H'aYSh LBSh HBDYM 'aShUr HQSTh BMThNYV MShYB DBUr L'aMUr 'yShYThY K'aShUr TShVYThNY.     And lo, the man clothed with linen, at whose loins is the inkhorn, is bringing back word, saying, `I have done as Thou hast commanded me.`     et ecce vir qui indutus erat lineis qui habebat atramentarium in dorso suo respondit verbum dicens feci sicut praecepisti mihi
