| 1. | A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, "Rise, and measure God's temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. | And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. | και εδοθη μοι καλαμος ομοιος ραβδω λεγων εγειρε και μετρησον τον ναον του θεου και το θυσιαστηριον και τους προσκυνουντας εν αυτω | And there was given to me a reed like to a rod, and the messenger stood, saying, `Rise, and measure the sanctuary of God, and the altar, and those worshipping in it; | et datus est mihi calamus similis virgae dicens surge et metire templum Dei et altare et adorantes in eo | ||||
| 2. | Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don't measure it, for it has been given to the nations. | 5. | If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. | And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. | και ει τις αυτους θελει αδικησαι πυρ εκπορευεται εκ του στοματος αυτων και κατεσθιει τους εχθρους αυτων και ει τις θεληση αυτους αδικησαι ουτως δει αυτον αποκτανθηναι | and if any one may will to injure them, fire doth proceed out of their mouth, and doth devour their enemies, and if any one may will to injure them, thus it behoveth him to be killed. | et si quis eos voluerit nocere ignis exiet de ore illorum et devorabit inimicos eorum et si quis voluerit eos laedere sic oportet eum occidi | ||||
| 6. | These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. | 10. | Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them. | And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. | και ηκουσαν φωνησ μεγαλησ εκ του ουρανου λεγουσησ αυτοις αναβατε ωδε και ανεβησαν εις τον ουρανον εν τη νεφελη και εθεωρησαν αυτους οι εχθροι αυτων | and they heard a great voice out of the heaven saying to them, `Come up hither;` and they went up to the heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them; | et audierunt vocem magnam de caelo dicentem illis ascendite huc et ascenderunt in caelum in nube et viderunt illos inimici eorum | ||||
| 13. | In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven. | And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. | και εν εκεινη τη ωρα εγενετο σεισμος μεγας και το δεκατον της πολεως επεσεν και απεκτανθησαν εν τω σεισμω ονοματα ανθρωπων χιλιαδες επτα και οι λοιποι εμφοβοι εγενοντο και εδωκαν δοξαν τω θεω του ουρανου | and in that hour came a great earthquake, and the tenth of the city did fall, and killed in the earthquake were names of men -- seven thousands, and the rest became affrighted, and they gave glory to the God of the heaven. | et in illa hora factus est terraemotus magnus et decima pars civitatis cecidit et occisi sunt in terraemotu nomina hominum septem milia et reliqui in timore sunt missi et dederunt gloriam Deo caeli | ||||

| 16. | The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God's throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God, | And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, | και οι εικοσι τεσσαρες πρεσβυτεροι [οι] ενωπιον του θεου καθημενοι επι τους θρονους αυτων επεσαν επι τα προσωπα αυτων και προσεκυνησαν τω θεω | and the twenty and four elders, who before God are sitting upon their thrones, did fall upon their faces, and did bow before God, | et viginti quattuor seniores qui in conspectu Dei sedent in sedibus suis ceciderunt in facies suas et adoraverunt Deum | ||||
| 17. | saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was{TR adds "and who is coming"}; because you have taken your great power, and reigned. | Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. | λεγοντες ευχαριστουμεν σοι κυριε ο θεος ο παντοκρατωρ ο ων και ο ην οτι ειληφας την δυναμιν σου την μεγαλην και εβασιλευσας | saying, `We give thanks to Thee, O Lord God, the Almighty, who art, and who wast, and who art coming, because Thou hast taken Thy great power and didst reign; | dicentes gratias agimus tibi Domine Deus omnipotens qui es et qui eras quia accepisti virtutem tuam magnam et regnasti | ||||
| 18. | The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth." | And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. | και τα εθνη ωργισθησαν και ηλθεν η οργη σου και ο καιρος των νεκρων κριθηναι και δουναι τον μισθον τοις δουλοις σου τοις προφηταις και τοις αγιοις και τοις φοβουμενοις το ονομα σου τουσ μικρουσ και τουσ μεγαλουσ και διαφθειραι τους διαφθειροντας την γην | and the nations were angry, and Thine anger did come, and the time of the dead, to be judged, and to give the reward to Thy servants, to the prophets, and to the saints, and to those fearing Thy name, to the small and to the great, and to destroy those who are destroying the land.` | et iratae sunt gentes et advenit ira tua et tempus mortuorum iudicari et reddere mercedem servis tuis prophetis et sanctis et timentibus nomen tuum pusillis et magnis et exterminandi eos qui corruperunt terram | ||||
| 19. | God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple.
