| 1. * | By the train of THE SENT ones, |
| 2. * | And the swift in their swiftness; |
| 3. * | By the scatterers who scatter, |
| 4. * | And the distinguishers who distinguish; |
| 5. * | And by those that give forth the word |
| 6. * | To excuse or warn; |
| 7. * | Verily that which ye are promised is imminent. |
| 8. * | When the stars, therefore, shall be blotted out, |
| 9. * | And when the heaven shall be cleft, |
| 10. * | And when the mountains shall be scattered in dust, |
| 11. * | And when the Apostles shall have a time assigned them; |
| 12. * | Until what day shall that time be deferred? |
| 13. * | To the day of severing! |
| 14. * | And who shall teach thee what the day of severing is? |
| 15. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 16. * | Have we not destroyed them of old? |
| 17. * | We will next cause those of later times to follow them. |
| 18. * | Thus deal we with the evil doers. |
| 19. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 20. * | Have we not created you of a sorry germ, |
| 21. * | Which we laid up in a secure place, |
| 22. * | Till the term decreed for birth? |
| 23. * | Such is our power! and, how powerful are We! |
| 24. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 25. * | Have we not made the earth to hold |
| 26. * | The living and the dead? |
| 27. * | And placed on it the tall firm mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water. |
| 28. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 29. * | Begone to that Hell which ye called a lie:- |
| 30. * | Begone to the shadows that lie in triple masses; |
| 31. * | But not against the flame shall they shade or help you:- |
| 32. * | The sparks which it casteth out are like towers- |
| 33. * | Like tawny camels. |
| 34. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 35. * | On that day they shall not speak, |
| 36. * | Nor shall it be permitted them to allege excuses. |
| 37. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 38. * | This is the day of severing, when we will assemble you and your ancestors. |
| 39. * | If now ye have any craft try your craft on me. |
| 40. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 41. * | But the god-fearing shall be placed amid shades and fountains, |
| 42. * | And fruits, whatsoever they shall desire: |
| 43. * | Eat and drink, with health, as the meed of your toils. |
| 44. * | Thus recompense we the good. |
| 45. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 46. * | Eat ye and enjoy yourselves a little while. Verily, ye are doers of evil. |
| 47. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture! |
| 48. * | For when it is said to them, bend the knee, they bend it not. |
| 49. * | Woe on that day to those who charged with imposture |
| 50. * | In what other revelation after this will they believe? |
