| 1. * | Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah. for He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. | Glorifying GOD is everything in the heavens and the earth. | 2. * | To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things. | To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. | 3. * | He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things. | He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Outermost and the Innermost. | 4. * | He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah sees well all that ye do. | He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then assumed all authority. He knows everything that enters into the earth, and everything that comes out of it, and everything that comes down from the sky, and everything that climbs into it. He is with you wherever you may be. | 5. * | To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah. | To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. | 6. * | He merges Night into Day, and He merges Day into Night; and He has full knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts. | He merges the night into the day, and merges the day into the night. | 7. * | Believe in Allah and His apostle, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity),- for them is a great Reward. | Believe in GOD and His messenger, and give from what He has bestowed upon you. Those among you who believe and give (to charity) have deserved a great recompense. | امنوا بالله ورسوله وانفقوا مما جعلكم مستخلفين فيه فالذين امنوا منكم وانفقوا لهم اجر كبير | amnwa ballh wrswlh wanfqwa mma j`lkm mstKlfyn fyh falXyn amnwa mnkm wanfqwa lhm ajr kbyr | |||
| 8. * | What cause have ye why ye should not believe in Allah.- and the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and has indeed taken your Covenant, if ye are men of Faith. | Why should you not believe in GOD when the messenger is inviting you to believe in your Lord? He has taken a pledge from you, if you are believers. | ومالكم لاتؤمنون بالله والرسول يدعوكم لتؤمنوا بربكم وقد اخذ ميثقاكم ان كنتم مؤمنين | wmalkm latWmnwn ballh walrswl yd`wkm ltWmnwa brbkm wqd aKX myxqakm an kntm mWmnyn | |||
| 9. * | He is the One Who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs, that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into the Light and verily Allah is to you most kind and Merciful. | He is the One who sends down to His servant clear revelations, in order to lead you out of the darkness into the light. GOD is Compassionate towards you, Most Merciful. | هو الذي ينزل على عبده ايات بينات ليخرجكم من الظلمات الى النور وان الله بكم لرؤوف رحيم | hw alXy ynzl `li `bdh ayat bynat lyKrjkm mn alZlmat ali alnwr wan allh bkm lrWwf rHym | |||
| 10. * | And what cause have ye why ye should not spend in the cause of Allah.- For to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do. | Why do you not spend in the cause of GOD, when GOD possesses all wealth in the heavens and the earth? Distinguished from the rest are those among you who spend before the victory and strive. They attain a greater rank than those who spend after the victory and strive. For each, GOD promises salvation. GOD is Cognizant of everything you do. | ومالكم الا تنفقوا في سبيل الله ولله ميراث السماوات والارض لايستوي منكم من انفق من قبل الفتح وقاتل اولئك اعظم درجة من الذين انفقوا من بعد وقاتلوا وكلا وعد الله الحسني والله بما تعملون خبير | wmalkm ala tnfqwa fy sbyl allh wllh myrax alsmawat walarD laystwy mnkm mn anfq mn qbl alftH wqatl awlYk a`Zm drj+ mn alXyn anfqwa mn b`d wqatlwa wkla w`d allh alHsny wallh bma t`mlwn Kbyr | |||
| 11. * | Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for ((Allah)) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward. | Who would like to loan GOD a loan of righteousness, to have it multiplied for him manifold, and end up with a generous recompense? | من ذا الذي يقرض الله قرضا حسنا فيضاعفه له وله اجر كريم | mn Xa alXy yqrD allh qrDa Hsna fyDa`fh lh wlh ajr krym | |||
| 12. * | One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): "Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!" | The day will come when you see the believing men and women with their lights radiating ahead of them and to their right. Good news is yours that, on that day, you will have gardens with flowing streams. You will abide therein forever. This is the great triumph. | يوم ترى المؤمنين والمؤمنات يسعى نورهم بين ايديهم وبايمانهم بشراكم اليوم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار خالدين فيها ذلك هو الفوز العظيم | ywm tri almWmnyn walmWmnat ys`i nwrhm byn aydyhm wbaymanhm b$rakm alywm jnat tjry mn tHtha alanhar Kaldyn fyha Xlk hw alfwz al`Zym | |||
| 13. * | One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment! | On that day, the hypocrite men and women will say to those who believed, "Please allow us to absorb some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you, and seek light." A barrier will be set up between them, whose gate separates mercy on the inner side, from retribution on the outer side. | يوم يقول المنافقون والمنافقات للذين امنوا انظرونا نقتبس من نوركم قيل ارجعوا وراءكم فالتمسوا نورا فضرب بينهم بسور له باب باطنه فيه الرحمة وظاهره من قبله العذاب | ywm yqwl almnafqwn walmnafqat llXyn amnwa anZrwna nqtbs mn nwrkm qyl arj`wa wra'km faltmswa nwra fDrb bynhm bswr lh bab baTnh fyh alrHm+ wZahrh mn qblh al`Xab | |||
| 14. * | (Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) will reply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to our ruin); ye doubted ((Allah)'s Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah. | They will call upon them, "Were we not with you?" They will answer, "Yes, but you cheated your souls, hesitated, doubted, and became misled by wishful thinking, until GOD's judgment came. You were diverted from GOD by illusions. | ينادونهم الم نكن معكم قالوا بلى ولكنكم فتنتم انفسكم وتربصتم وارتبتم وغرتكم الاماني حتى جاء امر الله وغركم بالله الغرور | ynadwnhm alm nkn m`km qalwa bli wlknkm ftntm anfskm wtrbStm wartbtm wGrtkm alamany Hti ja' amr allh wGrkm ballh alGrwr | |||
| 15. * | "This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah." Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!" | "Therefore, today no ransom can be taken from you, nor from those who disbelieved. Your abode is the fire; it is your lord, and miserable abode." | فاليوم لايؤخذ منكم فدية ولامن الذين كفروا ماواكم النار هي مولاكم وبئس المصير | falywm layWKX mnkm fdy+ wlamn alXyn kfrwa mawakm alnar hy mwlakm wbYs almSyr | |||
| 16. * | Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. | Is it not time for those who believed to open up their hearts for GOD's message, and the truth that is revealed herein? They should not be like the followers of previous scriptures whose hearts became hardened with time and, consequently, many of them turned wicked. | الم يان للذين امنوا ان تخشع قلوبهم لذكر الله ومانزل من الحق ولايكونوا كالذين اوتوا الكتاب من قبل فطال عليهم الامد فقست قلوبهم وكثير منهم فاسقون | alm yan llXyn amnwa an tK$` qlwbhm lXkr allh wmanzl mn alHq wlaykwnwa kalXyn awtwa alktab mn qbl fTal `lyhm alamd fqst qlwbhm wkxyr mnhm fasqwn | |||
| 17. * | Know ye (all) that Allah giveth life to the earth after its death! already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that ye may learn wisdom. | Know that GOD revives the land after it had died. We thus explain the revelations for you, that you may understand. | اعلموا ان الله يحيي الارض بعد موتها قد بينا لكم الايات لعلكم تعقلون | a`lmwa an allh yHyy alarD b`d mwtha qd byna lkm alayat l`lkm t`qlwn | |||
| 18. * | For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward. | Surely, the charitable men and women, have loaned GOD a loan of goodness. They will receive their reward multiplied manifold; they have deserved a generous recompense. | ان المصدقين والمصدقات واقرضوا الله قرضا حسنا يضاعف لهم ولهم اجر كريم | an almSdqyn walmSdqat waqrDwa allh qrDa Hsna yDa`f lhm wlhm ajr krym | |||
| 19. * | And those who believe in Allah and His apostles- they are the Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: They shall have their Reward and their Light. But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the Companions of Hell-Fire. | Those who believed in GOD and His messengers are the saints and martyrs. Reserved for them at their Lord are their rewards and their light. As for those who disbelieved and rejected our revelations, they have incurred Hell. | والذين امنوا بالله ورسله اولئك هم الصديقون والشهداء عند ربهم لهم اجرهم ونورهم والذين كفروا وكذبوا باياتنا اولئك اصحاب الجحيم | walXyn amnwa ballh wrslh awlYk hm alSdyqwn wal$hda' `nd rbhm lhm ajrhm wnwrhm walXyn kfrwa wkXbwa bayatna awlYk aSHab aljHym | |||
| 20. * | Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah.. And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception? | Know that this worldly life is no more than play and games, and boasting among you, and hoarding of money and children. It is like abundant rain that produces plants and pleases the disbelievers. But then the plants turn into useless hay, and are blown away by the wind. In the Hereafter there is either severe retribution, or forgiveness from GOD and approval. This worldly life is no more than a temporary illusion. | اعلموا انما الحياة الدنيا لعب ولهو وزينة وتفاخر بينكم وتكاثر في الاموال والاولاد كمثل غيث اعجب الكفار نباته ثم يهيج فتراه مصفرا ثم يكون حطاما وفي الاخرة عذاب شديد ومغفرة من الله ورضوان وماالحياة الدنيا الا متاع الغرور | a`lmwa anma alHya+ aldnya l`b wlhw wzyn+ wtfaKr bynkm wtkaxr fy alamwal walawlad kmxl Gyx a`jb alkfar nbath xm yhyj ftrah mSfra xm ykwn HTama wfy alaKr+ `Xab $dyd wmGfr+ mn allh wrDwan wmaalHya+ aldnya ala mta` alGrwr | |||
| 21. * | Be ye foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden (of Bliss), the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His apostles: that is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom he pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding. | Therefore, you shall race towards forgiveness from your Lord, and a Paradise whose width encompasses the heaven and the earth. It awaits those who believed in GOD and His messengers. Such is GOD's grace that He bestows upon whomever He wills. GOD is Possessor of Infinite Grace. | سابقوا الى مغفرة من ربكم وجنة عرضها كعرض السماء والارض اعدت للذين امنوا بالله ورسله ذلك فضل الله يؤتيه من يشاء والله ذو الفضل العظيم | sabqwa ali mGfr+ mn rbkm wjn+ `rDha k`rD alsma' walarD a`dt llXyn amnwa ballh wrslh Xlk fDl allh yWtyh mn y$a' wallh Xw alfDl al`Zym | |||
| 22. * | No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah. | Anything that happens on earth, or to you, has already been recorded, even before the creation. This is easy for GOD to do. | مااصاب من مصيبة في الارض ولافي انفسكم الا في كتاب من قبل ان نبراها ان ذلك على الله يسير | maaSab mn mSyb+ fy alarD wlafy anfskm ala fy ktab mn qbl an nbraha an Xlk `li allh ysyr | |||
| 23. * | In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious boaster,- | Thus, you should not grieve over anything you miss, nor be proud of anything He has bestowed upon you. GOD does not love those who are boastful, proud. | لكيلا تاسوا على مافاتكم ولاتفرحوا بما اتاكم والله لايحب كل مختال فخور | lkyla taswa `li mafatkm wlatfrHwa bma atakm wallh layHb kl mKtal fKwr | |||
| 24. * | Such persons as are covetous and commend covetousness to men. And if any turn back (from Allah.s Way), verily Allah is Free of all Needs, Worthy of all Praise. | They are stingy, and enjoin the people to be stingy. If one turns away, then GOD is the Rich, the Praiseworthy. | الذين يبخلون ويامرون الناس بالبخل ومن يتول فان الله هو الغني الحميد | alXyn ybKlwn wyamrwn alnas balbKl wmn ytwl fan allh hw alGny alHmyd | |||
| 25. * | We sent aforetime our apostles with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His apostles: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will). | We sent our messengers supported by clear proofs, and we sent down to them the scripture and the law, that the people may uphold justice. And we sent down the iron, wherein there is strength, and many benefits for the people. All this in order for GOD to distinguish those who would support Him and His messengers, on faith. GOD is Powerful, Almighty. | لقد ارسلنا رسلنا بالبينات وانزلنا معهم الكتاب والميزان ليقوم الناس بالقسط وانزلنا الحديد فيه باس شديد ومنافع للناس وليعلم الله من ينصره ورسله بالغيب ان الله قوي عزيز | lqd arslna rslna balbynat wanzlna m`hm alktab walmyzan lyqwm alnas balqsT wanzlna alHdyd fyh bas $dyd wmnaf` llnas wly`lm allh mn ynSrh wrslh balGyb an allh qwy `zyz | |||
| 26. * | And We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors. | We sent Noah and Abraham, and we granted their descendants prophethood and the scripture. Some of them were guided, while many were wicked. | ولقد ارسلنا نوحا وابراهيم وجعلنا في ذريتهما النبوة والكتاب فمنهم مهتد وكثير منهم فاسقون | wlqd arslna nwHa wabrahym wj`lna fy Xrythma alnbw+ walktab fmnhm mhtd wkxyr mnhm fasqwn | |||
| 27. * | Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our apostles: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah. but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors. | Subsequent to them, we sent our messengers. We sent Jesus the son of Mary, and we gave him the Injeel (Gospel), and we placed in the hearts of his followers kindness and mercy. But they invented hermitism which we never decreed for them. All we asked them to do was to uphold the commandments approved by GOD. But they did not uphold the message as they should have. Consequently, we gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked. | ثم قفينا على اثارهم برسلنا وقفينا بعيسى ابن مريم واتيناه الانجيل وجعلنا في قلوب الذين اتبعوه رافة ورحمة ورهبانية ابتدعوها ماكتبناها عليهم الا ابتغاء رضوان الله فما رعوها حق رعايتها فاتينا الذين امنوا منهم اجرهم وكثير منهم فاسقون | xm qfyna `li axarhm brslna wqfyna b`ysi abn mrym watynah alanjyl wj`lna fy qlwb alXyn atb`wh raf+ wrHm+ wrhbany+ abtd`wha maktbnaha `lyhm ala abtGa' rDwan allh fma r`wha Hq r`aytha fatyna alXyn amnwa mnhm ajrhm wkxyr mnhm fasqwn | |||
| 28. * | O ye that believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, and He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a Light by which ye shall walk (straight in your path), and He will forgive you (your past): for Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful. | O you who believe, you shall reverence GOD and believe in His messenger. He will then grant you double the reward from His mercy, endow you with light to guide you, and forgive you. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. | ياايها الذين امنوا اتقوا الله وامنوا برسوله يؤتكم كفلين من رحمته ويجعل لكم نورا تمشون به ويغفر لكم والله غفور رحيم | yaayha alXyn amnwa atqwa allh wamnwa brswlh yWtkm kflyn mn rHmth wyj`l lkm nwra tm$wn bh wyGfr lkm wallh Gfwr rHym | |||
| 29. * | That the People of the Book may know that they have no power whatever over the Grace of Allah, that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His Hand, to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. For Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding. | Thus, the followers of previous scripture should know that they have not monopolized GOD's mercy and grace, and that all grace is in GOD's hand. He bestows it upon whomever He wills. GOD is Possessor of Infinite Grace. | لئلا يعلم اهل الكتاب الا يقدرون على شئ من فضل الله وان الفضل بيد الله يؤتيه من يشاء والله ذو الفضل العظيم | lYla y`lm ahl alktab ala yqdrwn `li $Y mn fDl allh wan alfDl byd allh yWtyh mn y$a' wallh Xw alfDl al`Zym | |||
