| 2. * | An apostle from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy: | A messenger from GOD is reciting to them sacred instructions. | A messenger from God, he reads/recites/follows purified/cleaned written pages (scriptures). | rswl mn allh ytlw SHfa mThr+ | |||
| 3. * | Wherein are laws (or decrees) right and straight. | In them there are valuable teachings. | In it (are) straight/valuable Books. | fyha ktb qym+ | |||
| 4. * | Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence. | In fact, those who received the scripture did not dispute until the proof was given to them. | And those who were given/brought the Book did not separate except from after what came to them (from) the evidence. | wmatfrq alXyn awtwa alktab ala mn b`d maja'thm albyn+ | |||
| 5. * | And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight. | All that was asked of them was to worship GOD, devoting the religion absolutely to Him alone, observe the contact prayers (Salat), and give the obligatory charity (Zakat). | 6. * | Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. | Those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture, and the idol worshipers, have incurred the fire of Gehenna forever. | 7. * | Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,- they are the best of creatures. | Those who believed and led a righteous life are the best creatures. | That truly those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, those, they are the creation's best. | an alXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat awlYk hm Kyr albry+ | |||
| 8. * | Their reward is with Allah. Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher. | Their reward at their Lord is the gardens of Eden with flowing streams, wherein they abide forever. GOD is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.
