1.    Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.     {A song. A Psalm by Asaph.} God, don't keep silent. Don't keep silent, and don't be still, God.     A Song. A Psalm. Of Asaph.

2.    For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.     For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.     O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God.

3.    They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.     They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.     For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads.

4.    They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.     "Come," they say, "and let's destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more."     They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place.

5.    For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:     For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.     They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory.

6.    The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;     The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;     For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:

7.    Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;     Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;     The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;

8.    Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.     Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.     Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;

9.    Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:     Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;     Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)

10.    Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.     who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.     Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:

11.    Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:     Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;     Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste.

12.    Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.     who said, "Let us take possession of God's pasturelands."     Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna:

13.    O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.     My God, make them like tumbleweed; like chaff before the wind.     Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God.

14.    As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;     As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,     O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind.

15.    So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.     so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.     As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains,

16.    Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.     Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, Yahweh.     So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm.

17.    Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:     Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;     Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord.

18.    That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.     that they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahweh, are the Most High over all the earth.     Let them be overcome and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and come to destruction;
