| 9. | και γαρ εγω ανθρωπος ειμι υπο εξουσιαν εχων υπ εμαυτον στρατιωτας και λεγω τουτω πορευθητι και πορευεται και αλλω ερχου και ερχεται και τω δουλω μου ποιησον τουτο και ποιει | For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. | For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. | 10. | ακουσας δε ο ιησους εθαυμασεν και ειπεν τοις ακολουθουσιν αμην λεγω υμιν παρ ουδενι τοσαυτην πιστιν εν τω ισραηλ ευρον | When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. | When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, "Most certainly I tell you, I haven't found so great a faith, not even in Israel. | And when these words came to the ears of Jesus he was surprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel. | |||

| 12. | οι δε υιοι της βασιλειας εκβληθησονται εις το σκοτος το εξωτερον εκει εσται ο κλαυθμος και ο βρυγμος των οδοντων | But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. | but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." | But the sons of the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and cries of pain. | |||
| 13. | και ειπεν ο ιησους τω εκατονταρχη υπαγε ως επιστευσας γενηθητω σοι και ιαθη ο παις [αυτου] εν τη ωρα εκεινη | And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. | Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. | He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" | 27. | οι δε ανθρωποι εθαυμασαν λεγοντες ποταπος εστιν ουτος οτι και οι ανεμοι και η θαλασσα αυτω υπακουουσιν | But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! | The men marveled, saying, "What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" | And the men were full of wonder, saying, What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea do his orders? | |||
| 28. | και ελθοντοσ αυτου εις το περαν εις την χωραν των γαδαρηνων υπηντησαν αυτω δυο δαιμονιζομενοι εκ των μνημειων εξερχομενοι χαλεποι λιαν ωστε μη ισχυειν τινα παρελθειν δια της οδου εκεινης | And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. | When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes,{NU reads "Gadarenes"} two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way. | And when he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, there came out to him from the place of the dead, two who had evil spirits, so violent that no man was able to go that way. | |||

| 30. | ην δε μακραν απ αυτων αγελη χοιρων πολλων βοσκομενη | And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. | Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. | Now there was, some distance away, a great herd of pigs taking their food. | |||
| 31. | οι δε δαιμονες παρεκαλουν αυτον λεγοντες ει εκβαλλεις ημας αποστειλον ημασ εις την αγελην των χοιρων | So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. | The demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs." | And the evil spirits made strong prayers to him, saying, If you send us out, let us go into the herd of pigs. | |||
| 32. | και ειπεν αυτοις υπαγετε οι δε εξελθοντες απηλθον εις τουσ χοιρουσ και ιδου ωρμησεν πασα η αγελη κατα του κρημνου εις την θαλασσαν και απεθανον εν τοις υδασιν | And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. | He said to them, "Go!" They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. | And he said to them, Go. And they came out, and went into the pigs; and the herd went rushing down a sharp slope into the sea and came to their end in the water. | |||
| 33. | οι δε βοσκοντες εφυγον και απελθοντες εις την πολιν απηγγειλαν παντα και τα των δαιμονιζομενων | And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. | Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. | And their keepers went in flight to the town and gave an account of everything, and of the men who had the evil spirits. | |||
