| 13. | οιδατε δε οτι δι ασθενειαν της σαρκος ευηγγελισαμην υμιν το προτερον | Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. | but you know that because of weakness of the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time. | But you have knowledge that with a feeble body I was preaching the good news to you the first time; | |||
| 14. | και τον πειρασμον υμων εν τη σαρκι μου ουκ εξουθενησατε ουδε εξεπτυσατε αλλα ως αγγελον θεου εδεξασθε με ως χριστον ιησουν | And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. | That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn't despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. | And you did not have a poor opinion of me because of the trouble in my flesh, or put shame on it; but you took me to your hearts as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. | |||
| 15. | που ουν ο μακαρισμος υμων μαρτυρω γαρ υμιν οτι ει δυνατον τους οφθαλμους υμων εξορυξαντες εδωκατε μοι | Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. | What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me. | Where then is that happy condition of yours? because I give you witness, that, if possible, you would have taken out your eyes and given them to me. | |||
| 16. | ωστε εχθρος υμων γεγονα αληθευων υμιν | Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? | So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? | So then am I no longer your friend, because I give you true words? | |||
| 17. | ζηλουσιν υμας ου καλως αλλα εκκλεισαι υμας θελουσιν ινα αυτους ζηλουτε | They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. | They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them. | Their interest in you is not good; but their desire is that you may be shut out, so that you may go after them. | |||
| 18. | καλον δε ζηλουσθαι εν καλω παντοτε και μη μονον εν τω παρειναι με προς υμας | But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. | But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you. | But it is good to have an interest in a good cause at all times, and not only when I am present with you. | |||

| 20. | ηθελον δε παρειναι προς υμας αρτι και αλλαξαι την φωνην μου οτι απορουμαι εν υμιν | I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. | but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you. | Truly my desire is to be present with you now, using a changed voice; for I am troubled about you. | |||

Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. | However what does the Scripture say? "Throw out the handmaid and her son, for the son of the handmaid will not inherit with the son of the free woman."{Genesis 21:10} | What then do the Writings say? Send away the servant-woman and her son; for the son of the servant-woman will not have a part in the heritage with the son of the free woman. | |||
