When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.     {A Song of Ascents.} When Yahweh brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.     A Song of the going up.
When the Lord made a change in Zion's fate, we were like men in a dream.

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.     Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "Yahweh has done great things for them."     Then our mouths were full of laughing, and our tongues gave a glad cry; they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.

The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.     Yahweh has done great things for us, and we are glad.     The Lord has done great things for us; because of which we are glad.

Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.     Restore our fortunes again, Yahweh, like the streams in the Negev.     Let our fate be changed, O Lord, like the streams in the South.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.     Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.     Those who put in seed with weeping will get in the grain with cries of joy.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.     He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.     Though a man may go out weeping, taking his vessel of seed with him; he will come again in joy, with the corded stems of grain in his arms.
