1.    אני  חבצלת  השרון
שושנת  העמקים׃
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.     I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.  Lover     I am a rose of Sharon, a flower of the valleys.

2.    כשושנה  בין  החוחים
כן  רעיתי  בין
הבנות׃
As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.     As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.  Beloved     As the lily-flower among the thorns of the waste, so is my love among the daughters.

3.    כתפוח  בעצי  היער
כן  דודי  בין  הבנים
בצלו  חמדתי  וישבתי
ופריו  מתוק  לחכי׃
As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.     As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, his fruit was sweet to my taste.     As the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, so is my loved one among the sons. I took my rest under his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

6.    שמאלו  תחת  לראשי

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.     I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, or by the hinds of the field, that you not stir up, nor awaken love, until it so desires.     I say to you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes of the field, do not let love be moved till it is ready.

Behold, he stands behind our wall! He looks in at the windows. He glances through the lattice.     My loved one is like a roe; see, he is on the other side of our wall, he is looking in at the windows, letting himself be seen through the spaces.
