ויולכני אל־השער שער אשר פנה דרך הקדים׃ |

וכבוד יהוה בא אל־הבית דרך שער אשר פניו דרך הקדים׃ |

ותשאני רוח ותביאני אל־החצר הפנימי והנה מלא כבוד־יהוה הבית׃ |

ויאמר אלי בן־אדם את־מקום כסאי ואת־מקום כפות רגלי אשר אשכן־שם בתוך בני־ישראל לעולם ולא יטמאו עוד בית־ישראל שם קדשי המה ומלכיהם בזנותם ובפגרי מלכיהם במותם׃ |
And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places. | He said to me, Son of man, [this is] the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings [in] their high places; | And he said to me, Son of man, this is the place where the seat of my power is and the resting-place of my feet, where I will be among the children of Israel for ever: and no longer will the people of Israel make my holy name unclean, they or their kings, by their loose ways and by the dead bodies of their kings; | |||

בתתם ספם את־ספי ומזוזתם אצל מזוזתי והקיר ביני וביניהם וטמאו את־שם קדשי בתועבותם אשר עשו ואכל אתם באפי׃ |
In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger. | in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their doorpost beside my doorpost, and there was [but] the wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed: therefore I have consumed them in my anger. | By putting their doorstep by my doorstep, and the pillar of their door by the pillar of my door, with only a wall between me and them; and they have made my holy name unclean by the disgusting things which they have done: so in my wrath I sent destruction on them. | |||

עתה ירחקו את־זנותם ופגרי מלכיהם ממני ושכנתי בתוכם לעולם׃ |
Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever. | Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me; and I will dwell in the midst of them forever. | Now let them put their loose ways and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will be among them for ever. | |||

אתה בן־אדם הגד את־בית־ישראל את־הבית ויכלמו מעונותיהם ומדדו את־תכנית׃ |
Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern. | You, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. | You, son of man, give the children of Israel an account of this house, so that they may be shamed because of their evil-doing: and let them see the vision of it and its image. | |||

ואם־נכלמו מכל אשר־עשו צורת הבית ותכונתו ומוצאיו ומובאיו וכל־ צורתו ואת כל־חקתיו וכל־צורתו וכל־תורתו הודע אותם וכתב לעיניהם וישמרו את־כל־צורתו ואת־כל־חקתיו ועשו אותם׃ |
And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them. | If they be ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house, and its fashion, and its exits, and its entrances, and all its forms, and all its ordinances, and all its forms, and all its laws; and write it in their sight; that they may keep the whole form of it, and all its ordinances, and do them. | And they will be shamed by what they have done; so give them the knowledge of the form of the house and its structure, and the ways out of it and into it, and all its laws and its rules, writing it down for them: so that they may keep all its laws and do them. | |||

זאת תורת הבית על־ראש ההר כל־גבלו סביב סביב קדש קדשים הנה־זאת תורת הבית׃ |
This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. ואלה מדות המזבח באמות אמה אמה וטפח וחיק האמה ואמה־רחב וגבולה אל־שפתה סביב זרת האחד וזה גב המזבח׃ |
And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is a cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar. | These are the measures of the altar by cubits (the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth): the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and its border around its edge a span; and this shall be the base of the altar. | And these are the measures of the altar in cubits: (the cubit being a cubit and a hand's measure;) its hollow base is a cubit high and a cubit wide, and it has an overhanging edge as wide as a hand-stretch all round it: | |||

ומחיק הארץ עד־העזרה התחתונה שתים אמות ורחב אמה אחת ומהעזרה הקטנה עד־העזרה הגדולה ארבע אמות ורחב האמה׃ |
And from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser settle even to the greater settle shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit. | From the bottom on the ground to the lower ledge shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge shall be four cubits, and the breadth a cubit. | And from the base on the earth level to the lower shelf, the altar is two cubits high and a cubit wide; and from the smaller shelf to the greater shelf it is four cubits high and a cubit wide. | |||

וההראל ארבע אמות ומהאראיל ולמעלה הקרנות ארבע׃ |
So the altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar and upward shall be four horns. | The upper altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar hearth and upward there shall be four horns. | And the fireplace is four cubits high: and coming up from the fireplace are the horns, a cubit high. | |||

והאראיל שתים עשרה ארך בשתים עשרה רחב רבוע אל ארבעת רבעיו׃ |
And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in the four squares thereof. | The altar hearth shall be twelve [cubits] long by twelve broad, square in the four sides of it. | And the fireplace is twelve cubits long and twelve cubits wide, square on its four sides. | |||

והעזרה ארבע עשרה ארך בארבע עשרה רחב אל ארבעת רבעיה והגבול סביב אותה חצי האמה והחיק־לה אמה סביב ומעלתהו פנות קדים׃ |
And the settle shall be fourteen cubits long and fourteen broad in the four squares thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and the bottom thereof shall be a cubit about; and his stairs shall look toward the east. | The ledge shall be fourteen [cubits] long by fourteen broad in the four sides of it; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and its bottom shall be a cubit around; and its steps shall look toward the east. | And the shelf is fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide, on its four sides; the edge round it is half a cubit; the base of it is a cubit all round, and its steps are facing the east. | |||

ויאמר אלי בן־אדם כה אמר אדני יהוה אלה חקות המזבח ביום העשותו להעלות עליו עולה ולזרק עליו דם׃ |
And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon. | He said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon. | And he said to me, Son of man, the Lord God has said, These are the rules for the altar, when they make it, for the offering of burned offerings on it and the draining out of the blood. | |||

ונתתה אל־הכהנים הלוים אשר הם מזרע צדוק הקרבים אלי נאם אדני יהוה לשרתני פר בן־בקר לחטאת׃ |
And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering. | You shall give to the priests the Levites who are of the seed of Zadok, who are near to me, to minister to me, says the Lord Yahweh, a young bull for a sin offering. | You are to give to the priests, the Levites of the seed of Zadok, who come near to me, says the Lord God, to do my work, a young ox for a sin-offering. | |||

ולקחת מדמו ונתתה על־ארבע קרנתיו ואל־ארבע פנות העזרה ואל־ הגבול סביב וחטאת אותו וכפרתהו׃ |
And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and upon the border round about: thus shalt thou cleanse and purge it. | You shall take of its blood, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the border all around: thus you shall cleanse it and make atonement for it. | You are to take some of its blood and put it on the four horns and on the four angles of the shelf and on the edge all round: and you are to make it clean and free from sin. | |||

ולקחת את הפר החטאת ושרפו במפקד הבית מחוץ למקדש׃ |
Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, without the sanctuary. | You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and it shall be burnt in the appointed place of the house, outside of the sanctuary. | And you are to take the ox of the sin-offering, and have it burned in the special place ordered for it in the house, outside the holy place. | |||

וביום השני תקריב שעיר־עזים תמים לחטאת וחטאו את־המזבח כאשר חטאו בפר׃ |
And on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse it with the bullock. | On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse it with the bull. | And on the second day you are to have a he-goat without any mark on it offered for a sin-offering; and they are to make the altar clean as they did with the young ox. | |||

בכלותך מחטא תקריב פר בן־בקר תמים ואיל מן־הצאן תמים׃ |
When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, thou shalt offer a young bullock without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish. | When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish. | And after you have made it clean, let a young ox without a mark be offered, and a male sheep from the flock without a mark. | |||

והקרבתם לפני יהוה והשליכו הכהנים עליהם מלח והעלו אותם עלה ליהוה׃ |
And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD. | You shall bring them near to Yahweh, and the priests shall cast salt on them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to Yahweh. | And you are to take them before the Lord, and the priests will put salt on them, offering them up for a burned offering to the Lord. | |||

שבעת ימים תעשה שעיר־חטאת ליום ופר בן־בקר ואיל מן־הצאן תמימים יעשו׃ |
Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. | Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. | Every day for seven days you are to give a goat for a sin-offering: and let them give in addition a young ox and a male sheep from the flock without any mark on them. | |||

שבעת ימים יכפרו את־המזבח וטהרו אתו ומלאו ידו׃ |
Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it; and they shall consecrate themselves. | Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they consecrate it. | For seven days they are to make offerings to take away sin from the altar and to make it clean; so they are to make it holy. | |||

ויכלו את־הימים והיה ביום השמיני והלאה יעשו הכהנים על־המזבח את־עולותיכם ואת־שלמיכם ורצאתי אתכם נאם אדני יהוה׃ |
And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD. | When they have accomplished the days, it shall be that on the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says the Lord Yahweh. | And when these days have come to an end, then on the eighth day and after, the priests will make your burned offerings on the altar and your peace-offerings; and I will take pleasure in you, says the Lord. | |||
