ויסעו מפני החירת ויעברו בתוך־הים המדברה וילכו דרך שלשת ימים במדבר אתם ויחנו במרה׃ |

ויסעו מיטבתה ויחנו בעברנה׃ |

ויסעו מעברנה ויחנו בעצין גבר׃ |
And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Eziongaber. | They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber. | And they went on from Abronah, and put up their tents in Ezion-geber. | |||
| 36. |
ויסעו מעצין גבר ויחנו במדבר־צן הוא קדש׃ |
And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh. | They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (the same is Kadesh). | And they went on from Ezion-geber, and put up their tents in the waste land of Zin (which is Kadesh). | |||

ויסעו מקדש ויחנו בהר ההר בקצה ארץ אדום׃ |
And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom. | They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom. | And they went on from Kadesh, and put up their tents in Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom. | |||

ויעל אהרן הכהן אל־הר ההר על־פי יהוה וימת שם בשנת הארבעים לצאת בני־ישראל מארץ מצרים בחדש החמישי באחד לחדש׃ |

וישמע הכנעני מלך ערד והוא־ישב בנגב בארץ כנען בבא בני ישראל׃ |

ויסעו מהרי העברים ויחנו בערבת מואב על ירדן ירחו׃ |

ויחנו על־הירדן מבית הישמת עד אבל השטים בערבת מואב׃ |
And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab. | They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab. | Planting their tents by the side of Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as Abel-shittim in the lowlands of Moab. | |||

דבר אל־בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם כי אתם עברים את־הירדן אל־ארץ כנען׃ |
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; | Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, "When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, | Say to the children of Israel, When you go over Jordan into the land of Canaan, | |||

והורשתם את־כל־ישבי הארץ מפניכם ואבדתם את כל־משכיתם ואת כל־ צלמי מסכתם תאבדו ואת כל־במותם תשמידו׃ |
Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: | then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured [stones], and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places: | See that all the people of the land are forced out from before you, and put to destruction all their pictured stones, and all their metal images, and all their high places: | |||

והורשתם את־הארץ וישבתם־בה כי לכם נתתי את־הארץ לרשת אתה׃ |
And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it. | and you shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given given the land to you to possess it. | And take the land for yourselves, for your resting-place: for to you I have given the land as your heritage. | |||

והתנחלתם את־הארץ בגורל למשפחתיכם לרב תרבו את־נחלתו ולמעט תמעיט את־נחלתו אל אשר־יצא לו שמה הגורל לו יהיה למטות אבתיכם תתנחלו׃ |
And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit. | You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers. | And you will take up your heritage in the land by the decision of the Lord, to every family its part; the greater the family the greater its heritage, and the smaller the family the smaller will be its heritage; wherever the decision of the Lord gives to any man his part, that will be his; distribution will be made to you by your fathers' tribes. | |||

ואם־לא תורישו את־ישבי הארץ מפניכם והיה אשר תותירו מהם לשכים בעיניכם ולצנינם בצדיכם וצררו אתכם על־הארץ אשר אתם ישבים בה׃ |
But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. | "But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell. | But if you are slow in driving out the people of the land, then those of them who are still there will be like pin-points in your eyes and like thorns in your sides, troubling you in the land where you are living. | |||

והיה כאשר דמיתי לעשות להם אעשה לכם׃ |
Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them. | It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you." | And it will come about that as it was my purpose to do to them, so I will do to you. | |||
