1.    ויצו  משה  וזקני 
ישראל  את־העם  לאמר
שמר  את־כל־המצוה
אשר  אנכי  מצוה
אתכם  היום׃
    And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.     Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, "Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.     Then Moses and the responsible men of Israel gave the people these orders: Keep all the orders which I have given you this day;
 
2.    והיה  ביום  אשר 
תעברו  את־הירדן
אל־הארץ  אשר־יהוה
אלהיך  נתן  לך
והקמת  לך  אבנים
גדלות  ושדת  אתם
בשיד׃
    And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:     It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:     And on the day when you go over Jordan into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, put up great stones, coating them with building-paste,
 
3.    וכתבת  עליהן 
את־כל־דברי  התורה
הזאת  בעברך  למען
אשר  תבא  אל־הארץ
אשר־יהוה  אלהיך
נתן  לך  ארץ  זבת
חלב  ודבש  כאשר  דבר
יהוה  אלהי־אבתיך
לך׃
    And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.     and you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.     And writing on them all the words of this law, after you have gone over; so that you may take the heritage which the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has said.
 
4.    והיה  בעברכם 
את־הירדן  תקימו
את־האבנים  האלה
אשר  אנכי  מצוה
אתכם  היום  בהר
עיבל  ושדת  אותם
בשיד׃
    Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.     It shall be, when you have passed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.     And when you have gone over Jordan, you are to put up these stones, as I have said to you today, in Mount Ebal, and have them coated with building-paste.
 
5.    ובנית  שם  מזבח 
ליהוה  אלהיך  מזבח
אבנים  לא־תניף
עליהם  ברזל׃
    And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.     There you shall build an altar to Yahweh your God, an altar of stones: you shall lift up no iron [tool] on them.     There you are to make an altar to the Lord your God, of stones on which no iron instrument has been used.
 
6.    אבנים  שלמות  תבנה 
את־מזבח  יהוה
אלהיך  והעלית  עליו
עולת  ליהוה  אלהיך׃
    Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:     You shall build the altar of Yahweh your God of uncut stones; and you shall offer burnt offerings thereon to Yahweh your God:     You are to make the altar of the Lord your God of uncut stones; offering on it burned offerings to the Lord your God:
 
7.    וזבחת  שלמים  ואכלת 
שם  ושמחת  לפני
יהוה  אלהיך׃
    And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God.     and you shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God.     And you are to make your peace-offerings, feasting there with joy before the Lord your God.
 
8.    וכתבת  על־האבנים 
את־כל־דברי  התורה
הזאת  באר  היטב׃
    And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.     You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly."     And put on the stones all the words of this law, writing them very clearly.
 
9.    וידבר  משה  והכהנים 
הלוים  אל  כל־ישראל
לאמר  הסכת  ושמע
ישראל  היום  הזה
נהיית  לעם  ליהוה
אלהיך׃
    And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.     Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, "Keep silence, and listen, Israel: this day you have become the people of Yahweh your God.     Then Moses and the priests, the Levites, said to all Israel, Be quiet and give ear, O Israel; today you have become the people of the Lord your God.
 
10.    ושמעת  בקול  יהוה 
אלהיך  ועשית
את־מצותו  ואת־חקיו
אשר  אנכי  מצוך
היום׃
    Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.     You shall therefore obey the voice of Yahweh your God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you this day."     For this cause you are to give ear to the voice of the Lord your God, and do his orders and his laws which I give you this day.
 
11.    ויצו  משה  את־העם 
ביום  ההוא  לאמר׃
    And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,     Moses commanded the people the same day, saying,     That same day Moses said to the people,
 
12.    אלה  יעמדו  לברך 
את־העם  על־הר
גרזים  בעברכם
את־הירדן  שמעון
ולוי  ויהודה
ויששכר  ויוסף
ובנימן׃
    These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:     "These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.     These are to take their places on Mount Gerizim for blessing the people when you have gone over Jordan: Simeon and Levi and Judah and Issachar and Joseph and Benjamin;
 
13.    ואלה  יעמדו 
על־הקללה  בהר  עיבל
ראובן  גד  ואשר
וזבולן  דן  ונפתלי׃
    And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.     These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.     And these are to be on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
 
14.    וענו  הלוים  ואמרו 
אל־כל־איש  ישראל
קול  רם׃
    And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,     The Levites shall answer, and tell all the men of Israel with a loud voice,     Then the Levites are to say in a loud voice to all the men of Israel,
 
15.    ארור  האיש  אשר 
יעשה  פסל  ומסכה
תועבת  יהוה  מעשה
ידי  חרש  ושם  בסתר
וענו  כל־העם  ואמרו
אמן׃
    Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.     'Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' All the people shall answer and say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is the man who makes any image of wood or stone or metal, disgusting to the Lord, the work of man's hands, and puts it up in secret. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
16.    ארור  מקלה  אביו 
ואמו  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who sets light by his father or his mother.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who does not give honour to his father or mother. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
17.    ארור  מסיג  גבול 
רעהו  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who removes his neighbor's landmark.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who takes his neighbour's landmark from its place. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
18.    ארור  משגה  עור 
בדרך  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who makes the blind to wander out of the way.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he by whom the blind are turned out of the way. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
19.    ארור  מטה  משפט 
גר־יתום  ואלמנה
ואמר  כל־העם  אמן׃
    Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who wrests the justice [due] to the foreigner, fatherless, and widow.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who gives a wrong decision in the cause of a man from a strange land, or of one without a father, or of a widow. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
20.    ארור  שכב  עם־אשת 
אביו  כי  גלה  כנף
אביו  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who has sex relations with his father's wife, for he has put shame on his father. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
21.    ארור  שכב 
עם־כל־בהמה  ואמר
כל־העם  אמן׃
    Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who lies with any manner of animal.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who has sex relations with any sort of beast. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
22.    ארור  שכב  עם־אחתו 
בת־אביו  או  בת־אמו
ואמר  כל־העם  אמן׃
    Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who has sex relations with his sister, the daughter of his father or of his mother. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
23.    ארור  שכב  עם־חתנתו 
ואמר  כל־העם  אמן׃
    Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who has sex relations with his mother-in-law. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
24.    ארור  מכה  רעהו 
בסתר  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who strikes his neighbor in secret.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who takes his neighbour's life secretly. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
25.    ארור  לקח  שחד 
להכות  נפש  דם  נקי
ואמר  כל־העם  אמן׃
    Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'     Cursed is he who for a reward puts to death one who has done no wrong. And let all the people say, So be it.
 
26.    ארור  אשר  לא־יקים 
את־דברי
התורה־הזאת  לעשות
אותם  ואמר  כל־העם
אמן׃
    Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.     'Cursed is he who doesn't confirm the words of this law to do them.' All the people shall say, 'Amen.'"     Cursed is he who does not take this law to heart to do it. And let all the people say, So be it.
