A Song of the going up. Out of the deep have I sent up my cry to you, O Lord. |
Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. | ||
| 2. | Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions. | Lord, let my voice come before you: let your ears be awake to the voice of my prayer. | Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. | ||
| 3. | If you, Yah, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? | O Jah, if you took note of every sin, who would go free? | If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? | ||
| 4. | But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared. | But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be feared. | But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. | ||
| 5. | I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word. | I am waiting for the Lord, my soul is waiting for him, and my hope is in his word. | I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. | ||
| 6. | My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning; more than watchmen for the morning. | My soul is watching for the Lord more than those who are watching for the morning; yes, more than the watchers for the morning. | My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. | ||
| 7. | Israel, hope in Yahweh, for with Yahweh there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption. | O Israel, have hope in the Lord; for with the Lord is mercy and full salvation. | Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. | ||
| 8. | He will redeem Israel from all their sins. | And he will make Israel free from all his sins. | And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. | ||
