| 2. | Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; | Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; |

| 3. | and say to them, Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: Cursed is the man who doesn't hear the words of this covenant, | And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant, |

| 8. | Yet they didn't obey, nor turn their ear, but walked everyone in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they didn't do them. | Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not. |

VHLKV 'yUrY YHVDH VYShBY YUrVShLM VZ'yQV 'aL-H'aLHYM 'aShUr HM MQTUrYM LHM VHVSh'y L'a-YVShY'yV LHM B'yTh Ur'yThM. | And the cities of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem have gone, And they have cried unto the gods, To whom they are making perfume, And they give no deliverance at all to them, In the time of their vexation. | et ibunt civitates Iuda et habitatores Hierusalem et clamabunt ad deos quibus libant et non salvabunt eos in tempore adflictionis eorum | |||||
| 13. | For according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have you set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Baal. | For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal. |

KY MSPhUr 'yUrYK HYV 'aLHYK YHVDH VMSPhUr ChTShVTh YUrVShLM ShMThM MZBChVTh LBShTh MZBChVTh LQTUr LB'yL. | For -- the number of thy cities have been thy gods, O Judah, And -- the number of the streets of Jerusalem Ye have placed altars to a shameful thing, Altars to make perfume to Baal. | secundum numerum enim civitatum tuarum erant dii tui Iuda et secundum numerum viarum Hierusalem posuistis aras confusionis aras ad libandum Baali | |||||

| 19. | But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I didn't know that they had devised devices against me, [saying], Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. | But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. |
ואני ככבש אלוף יובל לטבוח ולא־ידעתי כי־עלי חשבו מחשבות נשחיתה עץ בלחמו ונכרתנו מארץ חיים ושמו לא־יזכר עוד׃ |
V'aNY KKBSh 'aLVPh YVBL LTBVCh VL'a-YD'yThY KY-'yLY ChShBV MChShBVTh NShChYThH 'yTSh BLChMV VNKUrThNV M'aUrTSh ChYYM VShMV L'a-YZKUr 'yVD. | And I am as a trained lamb brought to slaughter, And I have not known That against me they have devised devices: We destroy the tree with its food, and cut him off From the land of the living, And his name is not remembered again. | et ego quasi agnus mansuetus qui portatur ad victimam et non cognovi quia super me cogitaverunt consilia mittamus lignum in panem eius et eradamus eum de terra viventium et nomen eius non memoretur amplius | |||||
| 20. | But, Yahweh of Armies, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, I shall see your vengeance on them; for to you have I revealed my cause. | But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause. |

| 21. | Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, You shall not prophesy in the name of Yahweh, that you not die by our hand; | Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand: |
לכן כה־אמר יהוה על־אנשי ענתות המבקשים את־נפשך לאמר לא תנבא בשם יהוה ולא תמות בידנו׃ |
LKN KH-'aMUr YHVH 'yL-'aNShY 'yNThVTh HMBQShYM 'aTh-NPhShK L'aMUr L'a ThNB'a BShM YHVH VL'a ThMVTh BYDNV. | Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning the men of Anathoth, who are seeking thy life, saying: Do not prophesy in the name of Jehovah, And thou dost not die by our hands. | propterea haec dicit Dominus ad viros Anathoth qui quaerunt animam tuam et dicunt non prophetabis in nomine Domini et non morieris in manibus nostris | |||||
