1.    But say the things which fit sound doctrine,     But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:     συ δε λαλει α πρεπει τη υγιαινουση διδασκαλια     And thou -- be speaking what doth become the sound teaching;     tu autem loquere quae decet sanam doctrinam
 
2.    that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:     That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.     πρεσβυτας νηφαλιουσ ειναι σεμνους σωφρονας υγιαινοντας τη πιστει τη αγαπη τη υπομονη     aged men to be temperate, grave, sober, sound in the faith, in the love, in the endurance;     senes ut sobrii sint pudici prudentes sani fide dilectione patientia
 
3.    and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;     The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;     πρεσβυτιδας ωσαυτως εν καταστηματι ιεροπρεπεις μη διαβολους μη οινω πολλω δεδουλωμενας καλοδιδασκαλους     aged women, in like manner, in deportment as doth become sacred persons, not false accusers, to much wine not enslaved, of good things teachers,     anus similiter in habitu sancto non criminatrices non vino multo servientes bene docentes
 
4.    that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,     That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,     ινα σωφρονιζωσιν τας νεας φιλανδρους ειναι φιλοτεκνους     that they may make the young women sober-minded, to be lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,     ut prudentiam doceant adulescentulas ut viros suos ament filios diligant
 
5.    to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God's word may not be blasphemed.     To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.     σωφρονας αγνας οικουργουσ αγαθας υποτασσομενας τοις ιδιοις ανδρασιν ινα μη ο λογος του θεου βλασφημηται     sober, pure, keepers of their own houses, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of.     prudentes castas domus curam habentes benignas subditas suis viris ut non blasphemetur verbum Dei
 
6.    Likewise, exhort the younger men to be sober minded;     Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.     τους νεωτερους ωσαυτως παρακαλει σωφρονειν     The younger men, in like manner, be exhorting to be sober-minded;     iuvenes similiter hortare ut sobrii sint
 
7.    in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in your teaching showing integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility,     In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,     περι παντα σεαυτον παρεχομενος τυπον καλων εργων εν τη διδασκαλια αφθοριαν σεμνοτητα     concerning all things thyself showing a pattern of good works; in the teaching uncorruptedness, gravity, incorruptibility,     in omnibus te ipsum praebe exemplum bonorum operum in doctrina integritatem gravitatem
 
8.    and soundness of speech that can't be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.     Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.     λογον υγιη ακαταγνωστον ινα ο εξ εναντιας εντραπη μηδεν εχων  λεγειν περι ημων φαυλον     discourse sound, irreprehensible, that he who is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say concerning you.     verbum sanum inreprehensibilem ut is qui ex adverso est vereatur nihil habens malum dicere de nobis
 
9.    Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;     Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;     δουλους ιδιοις δεσποταις υποτασσεσθαι εν πασιν ευαρεστους ειναι μη αντιλεγοντας     Servants -- to their own masters are to be subject, in all things to be well-pleasing, not gainsaying,     servos dominis suis subditos esse in omnibus placentes non contradicentes
 
10.    not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.     Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.     μη νοσφιζομενους αλλα πασαν πιστιν ενδεικνυμενους αγαθην ινα την διδασκαλιαν την του σωτηρος ημων θεου κοσμωσιν εν πασιν     not purloining, but showing all good stedfastness, that the teaching of God our Saviour they may adorn in all things.     non fraudantes, sed in omnibus fidem bonam ostendentes ut doctrinam salutaris nostri Dei ornent in omnibus
 
11.    For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,     For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,     επεφανη γαρ η χαρις του θεου σωτηριος πασιν ανθρωποις     For the saving grace of God was manifested to all men,     apparuit enim gratia Dei salutaris omnibus hominibus

15.    Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise you.     These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.     ταυτα λαλει και παρακαλει και ελεγχε μετα πασης επιταγης μηδεις σου περιφρονειτω     these things be speaking, and exhorting, and convicting, with all charge; let no one despise thee!     haec loquere et exhortare et argue cum omni imperio nemo te contemnat
