| 1. | Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. | And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. | και μιαν εκ των κεφαλων αυτου ωσ εσφαγμενην εις θανατον και η πληγη του θανατου αυτου εθεραπευθη και εθαυμασθη ολη η γη οπισω του θηριου | And I saw one of its heads as slain to death, and its deadly stroke was healed, and all the earth did wonder after the beast, | et unum de capitibus suis quasi occisum in mortem et plaga mortis eius curata est et admirata est universa terra post bestiam | ||||

| 7. | It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. | And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. | και εδοθη αυτω ποιησαι πολεμον μετα των αγιων και νικησαι αυτους και εδοθη αυτω εξουσια επι πασαν φυλην και λαον και γλωσσαν και εθνος | and there was given to it to make war with the saints, and to overcome them, and there was given to it authority over every tribe, and tongue, and nation. | et datum est illi bellum facere cum sanctis et vincere illos et data est ei potestas in omnem tribum et populum et linguam et gentem | ||||
| 8. | All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed. | And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. | και προσκυνησουσιν αυτον παντες οι κατοικουντες επι της γης ου ου γεγραπται το ονομα αυτου εν τω βιβλιω της ζωης του αρνιου του εσφαγμενου απο καταβολης κοσμου | And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; | et adorabunt eum omnes qui inhabitant terram quorum non sunt scripta nomina in libro vitae agni qui occisus est ab origine mundi | ||||

He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. | And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. | και την εξουσιαν του πρωτου θηριου πασαν ποιει ενωπιον αυτου και ποιει την γην και τους εν αυτη κατοικουντασ ινα προσκυνησουσιν το θηριον το πρωτον ου εθεραπευθη η πληγη του θανατου αυτου | and all the authority of the first beast doth it do before it, and it maketh the land and those dwelling in it that they shall bow before the first beast, whose deadly stroke was healed, | et potestatem prioris bestiae omnem faciebat in conspectu eius et facit terram et inhabitantes in eam adorare bestiam primam cuius curata est plaga mortis | ||||
| 13. | He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. | And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, | και ποιει σημεια μεγαλα ινα και πυρ ποιη εκ του ουρανου καταβαινειν εισ την γην ενωπιον των ανθρωπων | and it doth great signs, that fire also it may make to come down from the heaven to the earth before men, | et fecit signa magna ut etiam ignem faceret de caelo descendere in terram in conspectu hominum | ||||
| 14. | He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived. | And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. | και πλανα τους κατοικουντας επι της γης δια τα σημεια α εδοθη αυτω ποιησαι ενωπιον του θηριου λεγων τοις κατοικουσιν επι της γης ποιησαι εικονα τω θηριω οσ εχει την πληγην της μαχαιρησ και εζησεν | and it leadeth astray those dwelling on the land, because of the signs that were given it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling upon the land to make an image to the beast that hath the stroke of the sword and did live, | et seducit habitantes terram propter signa quae data sunt illi facere in conspectu bestiae dicens habitantibus in terra ut faciant imaginem bestiae quae habet plagam gladii et vixit | ||||
| 15. | It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn't worship the image of the beast to be killed. | And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. | και εδοθη αυτω δουναι πνευμα τη εικονι του θηριου ινα και λαληση η εικων του θηριου και ποιηση [ινα] οσοι εαν μη προσκυνησωσιν τη εικονι του θηριου αποκτανθωσιν | and there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, that also the image of the beast may speak, and that it may cause as many as shall not bow before the image of the beast, that they may be killed. | et datum est illi ut daret spiritum imagini bestiae ut et loquatur imago bestiae et faciat quicumque non adoraverint imaginem bestiae occidantur | ||||
| 16. | He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; | And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: | και ποιει παντας τους μικρους και τους μεγαλους και τους πλουσιους και τους πτωχους και τους ελευθερους και τους δουλους ινα δωσιν αυτοις χαραγμα επι της χειρος αυτων της δεξιας η επι το μετωπον αυτων | And it maketh all, the small, and the great, and the rich, and the poor, and the freemen, and the servants, that it may give to them a mark upon their right hand or upon their foreheads, | et faciet omnes pusillos et magnos et divites et pauperes et liberos et servos habere caracter in dextera manu aut in frontibus suis | ||||
| 17. | and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name. | And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. | και ινα μη τις δυνηται αγορασαι η πωλησαι ει μη ο εχων το χαραγμα το ονομα του θηριου η τον αριθμον του ονοματος αυτου | and that no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. | et ne quis possit emere aut vendere nisi qui habet caracter nomen bestiae aut numerum nominis eius | ||||
| 18. | Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six. | Here is wisdom.
