| 1. * |
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs;
|
|
The sky and its galaxies.
|
|
سورة البروج بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ والسماء ذات البروج
|
|
And/by the sky/space that of the constellations.
|
|
|
|
Waalssama-ithati alburooji
|
| |
| 2. * |
By the promised Day (of Judgment);
|
|
The promised day.
|
|
واليوم الموعود
|
|
And/by the Day the Promised/Resurrection Day.
|
|
|
|
Waalyawmi almawAAoodi
|
| |
| 3. * |
By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;-
|
|
The witness and the witnessed.
|
|
وشاهد ومشهود
|
|
And/by a witness/testifier and a witnessed (against).
|
|
|
|
Washahidin wamashhoodin
|
| |
| 4. * |
Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire),
|
|
Woe to the people of the canyon.
|
|
قتل اصحاب الاخدود
|
|
The geological rift's-fault line's owners/company/friends were killed.
|
|
|
|
Qutila as-habu alukhdoodi
|
| |
| 5. * |
Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel:
|
|
They ignited a blazing fire.
|
|
النار ذات الوقود
|
|
The fire, that of the fuel.
|
|
|
|
Alnnarithati alwaqoodi
|
| |
| 6. * |
Behold! they sat over against the (fire),
|
|
Then sat around it.
|
|
اذ هم عليها قعود
|
|
When they are on it sitting/remaining.
|
|
|
|
Ithhum AAalayhaquAAoodun
|
| |
| 7. * |
And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers.
|
|
To watch the burning of the believers.
|
|
وهم على مايفعلون بالمؤمنين شهود
|
|
And they are on what they are making/doing with (to) the believers witnessing/testifying.
|
|
|
|
Wahum AAalamayafAAaloona bialmu\mineena shuhoodun
|
| |
| 8. * |
And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-
|
|
They hated them for no other reason than believing in GOD, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.
|
|
ومانقموا منهم الا ان يؤمنوا بالله العزيز الحميد
|
|
And they did not revenge/punish from them except (because) that (E) they believe with (in) God, the glorious/mighty, the praiseworthy/commendable.
|
|
|
|
Wamanaqamoo minhum illaan yu\minoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi
|
| |
| 9. * |
Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.
|
|
To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. And GOD witnesses all things.
|
|
الذي له ملك السماوات والارض والله على كل شئ شهيد
|
|
Who for Him (is) the skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's ownership/kingdom, and God (is) on every thing witnessing.
|
|
|
|
Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waal-ardi waAllahu AAalakulli shay-in shaheedun
|
| |
| 10. * |
Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.
|
|
Surely, those who persecute the believing men and women, then fail to repent, have incurred the retribution of Gehenna; they have incurred the retribution of burning.
|
|
ان الذين فتنوا المؤمنين والمؤمنات ثم لم يتوبوا فلهم عذاب جهنم ولهم عذاب الحريق
|
|
That truly those who tortured/betrayed/allured the believers (M) and the believers (F), then they did not repent, so for them (is) Hell's torture, and for them (is) the burning's torture.
|
|
|
|
Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi
|

| 11. * |
For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),
|
|
Surely, those who believed and led a righteous life, have deserved gardens with flowing streams. This is the greatest triumph.
|
|
ان الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات لهم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار ذلك الفوز الكبير
|
|
That truly those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, for them (are) treed gardens/paradises the rivers/waterways flow from below it, that is the winning/success, the great.
|
|
|
|
Inna allatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtihaal-anharuthalika alfawzu alkabeeru
|

| 12. * |
Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.
|
|
Indeed, your Lord's blow is severe.
|
|
ان بطش ربك لشديد
|
|
That truly your Lord's violent attack/destruction (is) strong (E) (severe).
|
|
|
|
Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun
|
| |
| 13. * |
It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).
|
|
He is the One who initiates and repeats.
|
|
انه هو يبدئ ويعيد
|
|
That He truly creates/initiates, and returns/repeats.
|
|
|
|
Innahu huwa yubdi-o wayuAAeedu
|
| |
| 14. * |
And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,
|
|
And He is the Forgiving, Most Kind.
|
|
وهو الغفور الودود
|
|
And He is the forgiving, the loving/affectionate.
|
|
|
|
Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu
|
| |
| 15. * |
Lord of the Throne of Glory,
|
|
Possessor of the glorious throne.
|
|
ذو العرش المجيد
|
|
(Owner) of the throne, the most glorious/exacted.
|
|
|
|
Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi
|
| |
| 16. * |
Doer (without let) of all that He intends.
|
|
Doer of whatever He wills.
|
|
فعال لما يريد
|
|
Maker/doer to what He wills/wants/intends.
|
|
|
|
FaAAAAalun limayureedu
|
| |
| 17. * |
Has the story reached thee, of the forces-
|
|
Did you note the history of the troops?
|
|
هل اتاك حديث الجنود
|
|
Did the soldiers'/warriors' information/news come to you?
|
|
|
|
Hal atakahadeethu aljunoodi
|
| |
| 18. * |
Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?
|
|
Pharaoh and Thamoud?
|
|
فرعون وثمود
|
|
Pharaoh and Thamud.
|
|
|
|
FirAAawna wathamooda
|
| |
| 19. * |
And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!
|
|
Those who disbelieve are plagued with denial.
|
|
بل الذين كفروا في تكذيب
|
|
But those who disbelieved (are) in lying/denial/falsification.
|
|
|
|
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin
|
| |
| 20. * |
But Allah doth encompass them from behind!
|
|
GOD is fully aware of them.
|
|
والله من ورائهم محيط
|
|
And God is from behind them surrounding/comprehending.
|
|
|
|
WaAllahu min wara-ihim muheetun
|
| |
| 21. * |
Day, this is a Glorious Qur'an,
|
|
Indeed, it is a glorious Quran.
|
|
بل هو قران مجيد
|
|
But it is a glorious/exalted Koran.
|
|
|
|
Bal huwa qur-anun majeedun
|
| |
| 22. * |
(Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!
|
|
In a preserved master tablet.
|
|
في لوح محفوظ
|
|
In a protected/guarded tablet/sheet
|
|
|
|
Fee lawhin mahfoothin
|
