1.  *     These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear;     T. S. These (letters) constitute proofs of the Quran; a profound scripture.     سورة النمل بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ طس تلك ايات القران وكتاب مبين     swr+ alnml bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? Ts tlk ayat alqran wktab mbyn
 
2.  *     A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,-     A beacon, and good news, for the believers.     هدى وبشرى للمؤمنين     hdi wb$ri llmWmnyn
 
3.  *     Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter.     Who observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and they are, with regard to the Hereafter, absolutely certain.     الذين يقيمون الصلاة ويؤتون الزكاة وهم بالاخرة هم يوقنون     alXyn yqymwn alSla+ wyWtwn alzka+ whm balaKr+ hm ywqnwn
 
4.  *     As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction.     Those who do not believe in the Hereafter, we adorn their works in their eyes. Thus, they continue to blunder.     ان الذين لايؤمنون بالاخرة زينا لهم اعمالهم فهم يعمهون     an alXyn layWmnwn balaKr+ zyna lhm a`malhm fhm y`mhwn
 
5.  *     Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss.     It is these who incur the worst retribution, and in the Hereafter, they will be the worst losers.     اولئك الذين لهم سوء العذاب وهم في الاخرة هم الاخسرون     awlYk alXyn lhm sw' al`Xab whm fy alaKr+ hm alaKsrwn
 
6.  *     As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing.     Surely, you are receiving the Quran from a Most Wise, Omniscient.     وانك لتلقى القران من لدن حكيم عليم     wank ltlqi alqran mn ldn Hkym `lym
 
7.  *     Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warn yourselves.     Recall that Moses said to his family, "I see a fire; let me bring you news therefrom, or a torch to warm you."     اذ قال موسى لاهله اني انست نارا ساتيكم منها بخبر او اتيكم بشهاب قبس لعلكم تصطلون     aX qal mwsi lahlh any anst nara satykm mnha bKbr aw atykm b$hab qbs l`lkm tSTlwn
 
8.  *     But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.     When he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is the One (who is speaking from) within the fire, and those around it." Glory be to GOD, Lord of the universe.     فلما جاءها نودي ان بورك من في النار ومن حولها وسبحان الله رب العالمين     flma ja'ha nwdy an bwrk mn fy alnar wmn Hwlha wsbHan allh rb al`almyn
 
9.  *     "O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!....     "O Moses, this is Me, GOD, the Almighty, Most Wise.     ياموسى انه انا الله العزيز الحكيم     yamwsi anh ana allh al`zyz alHkym
 
10.  *     "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as apostles have no fear,-     "Throw down your staff." When he saw it moving like a demon, he turned around and fled. "O Moses, do not be afraid. My messengers shall not fear.     والق عصاك فلما راها تهتز كانها جان ولى مدبرا ولم يعقب ياموسى لاتخف اني لايخاف لدي المرسلون     walq `Sak flma raha thtz kanha jan wli mdbra wlm y`qb yamwsi latKf any layKaf ldy almrslwn
 
11.  *     "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.     "Except those who commit a transgression, then substitute righteousness after sinning; I am Forgiving, Most Merciful.     الا من ظلم ثم بدل حسنا بعد سوء فاني غفور رحيم     ala mn Zlm xm bdl Hsna b`d sw' fany Gfwr rHym
 
12.  *     "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression."     "Put your hand in your pocket; it will come out white, without a blemish. These are among nine miracles to Pharaoh and his people, for they are wicked people."     وادخل يدك في جيبك تخرج بيضاء من غير سوء في تسع ايات الى فرعون وقومه انهم كانوا قوما فاسقين     wadKl ydk fy jybk tKrj byDa' mn Gyr sw' fy ts` ayat ali fr`wn wqwmh anhm kanwa qwma fasqyn
 
13.  *     But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!"     When our miracles were presented to them, clear and profound, they said, "This is obviously magic."     فلما جاءتهم اياتنا مبصرة قالوا هذا سحر مبين     flma ja'thm ayatna mbSr+ qalwa hXa sHr mbyn
 
14.  *     And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!     They rejected them and were utterly convinced of their wrong ways, due to their arrogance. Note the consequences for the evildoers.     وجحدوا بها واستيقنتها انفسهم ظلما وعلوا فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المفسدين     wjHdwa bha wastyqntha anfshm Zlma w`lwa fanZr kyf kan `aqb+ almfsdyn
 
15.  *     We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: And they both said: "Praise be to Allah, Who has favoured us above many of his servants who believe!"     We endowed David and Solomon with knowledge, and they said, "Praise GOD for blessing us more than many of His believing servants."     ولقد اتينا داود وسليمان علما وقالا الحمد لله الذي فضلنا على كثير من عباده المؤمنين     wlqd atyna dawd wslyman `lma wqala alHmd llh alXy fDlna `li kxyr mn `badh almWmnyn
 
16.  *     And Solomon was David's heir. He said: "O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah.)"     Solomon was David's heir. He said, "O people, we have been endowed with understanding the language of the birds, and all kinds of things have been bestowed upon us. This is indeed a real blessing."     وورث سليمان داود وقال ياايها الناس علمنا منطق الطير واوتينا من كل شئ ان هذا لهو الفضل المبين     wwrx slyman dawd wqal yaayha alnas `lmna mnTq alTyr wawtyna mn kl $Y an hXa lhw alfDl almbyn
 
17.  *     And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.     Mobilized in the service of Solomon were his obedient soldiers of jinns and humans, as well as the birds; all at his disposal.     وحشر لسليمان جنوده من الجن والانس والطير فهم يوزعون     wH$r lslyman jnwdh mn aljn walans walTyr fhm ywz`wn
 
18.  *     At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it."     When they approached the valley of the ants, one ant said, "O you ants, go into your homes, lest you get crushed by Solomon and his soldiers, without perceiving."     حتى اذا اتوا على واد النمل قالت نملة ياايها النمل ادخلوا مساكنكم لايحطمنكم سليمان وجنوده وهم لايشعرون     Hti aXa atwa `li wad alnml qalt nml+ yaayha alnml adKlwa msaknkm layHTmnkm slyman wjnwdh whm lay$`rwn
 
19.  *     So he smiled, amused at her speech; and he said: "O my Lord! so order me that I may be grateful for Thy favours, which thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that will please Thee: And admit me, by Thy Grace, to the ranks of Thy righteous Servants."     He smiled and laughed at her statement, and said, "My Lord, direct me to be appreciative of the blessings You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Admit me by Your mercy into the company of Your righteous servants."     فتبسم ضاحكا من قولها وقال رب اوزعني ان اشكر نعمتك التي انعمت علي وعلى والدي وان اعمل صالحا ترضاه وادخلني برحمتك في عبادك الصالحين     ftbsm DaHka mn qwlha wqal rb awz`ny an a$kr n`mtk alty an`mt `ly w`li waldy wan a`ml SalHa trDah wadKlny brHmtk fy `badk alSalHyn
 
20.  *     And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said: "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?     He inspected the birds, and noted: "Why do I not see the hoopoe? Why is he missing?     وتفقد الطير فقال مالي لاارى الهدهد ام كان من الغائبين     wtfqd alTyr fqal maly laari alhdhd am kan mn alGaYbyn
 
21.  *     "I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty, or execute him, unless he bring me a clear reason (for absence)."     "I will punish him severely or sacrifice him, unless he gives me a good excuse."     لاعذبنه عذابا شديدا او لاذبحنه او لياتيني بسلطان مبين     la`Xbnh `Xaba $dyda aw laXbHnh aw lyatyny bslTan mbyn
 
22.  *     But the Hoopoe tarried not far: he (came up and) said: "I have compassed (territory) which thou hast not compassed, and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true.     He did not wait for long. (The hoopoe) said, "I have news that you do not have. I brought to you from Sheba, some important information.     فمكث غير بعيد فقال احطت بمالم تحط به وجئتك من سبا بنبا يقين     fmkx Gyr b`yd fqal aHTt bmalm tHT bh wjYtk mn sba bnba yqyn
 
23.  *     "I found (there) a woman ruling over them and provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne.     "I found a woman ruling them, who is blessed with everything, and possesses a tremendous palace.     اني وجدت امراة تملكهم واوتيت من كل شئ ولها عرش عظيم     any wjdt amra+ tmlkhm wawtyt mn kl $Y wlha `r$ `Zym
 
24.  *     "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah. Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,-     "I found her and her people prostrating before the sun, instead of GOD. The devil has adorned their works in their eyes, and has repulsed them from the path; consequently, they are not guided."     وجدتها وقومها يسجدون للشمس من دون الله وزين لهم الشيطان اعمالهم فصدهم عن السبيل فهم لايهتدون     wjdtha wqwmha ysjdwn ll$ms mn dwn allh wzyn lhm al$yTan a`malhm fSdhm `n alsbyl fhm layhtdwn
 
25.  *     "(Kept them away from the Path), that they should not worship Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what ye hide and what ye reveal.     They should have been prostrating before GOD, the One who manifests all the mysteries in the heavens and the earth, and the One who knows everything you conceal and everything you declare.     الا يسجدوا لله الذي يخرج الخبء في السماوات والارض ويعلم ماتخفون وماتعلنون     ala ysjdwa llh alXy yKrj alKb' fy alsmawat walarD wy`lm matKfwn wmat`lnwn
 
26.  *     "(Allah)!- there is no god but He!- Lord of the Throne Supreme!"     GOD: there is no other god beside Him; the Lord with the great dominion.     الله لااله الا هو رب العرش العظيم     allh laalh ala hw rb al`r$ al`Zym
 
27.  *     (Solomon) said: "Soon shall we see whether thou hast told the truth or lied!     (Solomon) said, "We will see if you told the truth, or if you are a liar.     قال سننظر اصدقت ام كنت من الكاذبين     qal snnZr aSdqt am knt mn alkaXbyn
 
28.  *     "Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...     "Take this letter from me, give it to them, then watch for their response."     اذهب بكتابي هذا فالقه اليهم ثم تول عنهم فانظر ماذا يرجعون     aXhb bktaby hXa falqh alyhm xm twl `nhm fanZr maXa yrj`wn
 
29.  *     (The queen) said: "Ye chiefs! here is delivered to me - a letter worthy of respect.     She said, "O my advisers, I have received an honorable letter.     قالت ياايها الملا اني القي الي كتاب كريم     qalt yaayha almla any alqy aly ktab krym
 
30.  *     "It is from Solomon, and is (as follows): 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful:     "It is from Solomon, and it is, `In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.'     انه من سليمان وانه  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم     anh mn slyman wanh  bsm allh alrHmn alrHym
 
31.  *     "'Be ye not arrogant against me, but come to me in submission (to the true Religion).'"     "Proclaiming: `Do not be arrogant; come to me as submitters.' "     الا تعلوا علي واتوني مسلمين     ala t`lwa `ly watwny mslmyn
 
32.  *     She said: "Ye chiefs! advise me in (this) my affair: no affair have I decided except in your presence."     She said, "O my advisers, counsel me in this matter. I am not deciding anything until you advise me."     قالت ياايها الملا افتوني في امري ماكنت قاطعة امرا حتى تشهدون     qalt yaayha almla aftwny fy amry maknt qaT`+ amra Hti t$hdwn
 
33.  *     They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command."     They said, "We possess the power, we possess the fighting skills, and the ultimate command is in your hand. You decide what to do."     قالوا نحن اولوا قوة واولوا باس شديد والامر اليك فانظري ماذا تامرين     qalwa nHn awlwa qw+ wawlwa bas $dyd walamr alyk fanZry maXa tamryn
 
34.  *     She said: "Kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and make the noblest of its people its meanest thus do they behave.     She said, "The kings corrupt any land they invade, and subjugate its dignified people. This is what they usually do.     قالت ان الملوك اذا دخلوا قرية افسدوها وجعلوا اعزة اهلها اذلة وكذلك يفعلون     qalt an almlwk aXa dKlwa qry+ afsdwha wj`lwa a`z+ ahlha aXl+ wkXlk yf`lwn
 
35.  *     "But I am going to send him a present, and (wait) to see with what (answer) return (my) ambassadors."     "I am sending a gift to them; let us see what the messengers come back with."     واني مرسلة اليهم بهدية فناظرة بم يرجع المرسلون     wany mrsl+ alyhm bhdy+ fnaZr+ bm yrj` almrslwn
 
36.  *     Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift!     When the hoopoe returned to Solomon (he told him the news), and he responded (to Sheba's people): "Are you giving me money? What GOD has given me is far better than what He has given you. You are the ones to rejoice in such gifts."     فلما جاء سليمان قال اتمدونن بمال فما اتاني الله خير مما اتاكم بل انتم بهديتكم تفرحون     flma ja' slyman qal atmdwnn bmal fma atany allh Kyr mma atakm bl antm bhdytkm tfrHwn
 
37.  *     "Go back to them, and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: We shall expel them from there in disgrace, and they will feel humbled (indeed)."     (To the hoopoe, he said,) "Go back to them (and let them know that) we will come to them with forces they cannot imagine. We will evict them, humiliated and debased."     ارجع اليهم فلناتينهم بجنود لاقبل لهم بها ولنخرجنهم منها اذلة وهم صاغرون     arj` alyhm flnatynhm bjnwd laqbl lhm bha wlnKrjnhm mnha aXl+ whm SaGrwn
 
38.  *     He said (to his own men): "Ye chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"     He said, "O you elders, which of you can bring me her mansion, before they arrive here as submitters?"     قال ياايها الملا ايكم ياتيني بعرشها قبل ان ياتوني مسلمين     qal yaayha almla aykm yatyny b`r$ha qbl an yatwny mslmyn
 
39.  *     Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted."     One afrit from the jinns said, "I can bring it to you before you stand up. I am powerful enough to do this."     قال عفريت من الجن انا اتيك به قبل ان تقوم من مقامك واني عليه لقوي امين     qal `fryt mn aljn ana atyk bh qbl an tqwm mn mqamk wany `lyh lqwy amyn
 
40.  *     Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !"     The one who possessed knowledge from the book said, "I can bring it to you in the blink of your eye." When he saw it settled in front of him, he said, "This is a blessing from my Lord, whereby He tests me, to show whether I am appreciative or unappreciative. Whoever is appreciative is appreciative for his own good, and if one turns unappreciative, then my Lord is in no need for him, Most Honorable."     قال الذي عنده علم من الكتاب انا اتيك به قبل ان يرتد اليك طرفك فلما راه مستقرا عنده قال هذا من فضل ربي ليبلوني ءاشكر ام اكفر ومن شكر فانما يشكر لنفسه ومن كفر فان ربي غني كريم     qal alXy `ndh `lm mn alktab ana atyk bh qbl an yrtd alyk Trfk flma rah mstqra `ndh qal hXa mn fDl rby lyblwny 'a$kr am akfr wmn $kr fanma y$kr lnfsh wmn kfr fan rby Gny krym
 
41.  *     He said: "Transform her throne out of all recognition by her: let us see whether she is guided (to the truth) or is one of those who receive no guidance."     He said, "Remodel her mansion for her. Let us see if she will be guided, or continue with the misguided."     قال نكروا لها عرشها ننظر اتهتدي ام تكون من الذين لايهتدون     qal nkrwa lha `r$ha nnZr athtdy am tkwn mn alXyn layhtdwn
 
42.  *     So when she arrived, she was asked, "Is this thy throne?" She said, "It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to Allah (in Islam)."     When she arrived, she was asked, "Does your mansion look like this?" She said, "It seems that this is it." (Solomon said,) "We knew beforehand what she was going to do, and we were already submitters."     فلما جاءت قيل اهكذا عرشك قالت كانه هو واوتينا العلم من قبلها وكنا مسلمين     flma ja't qyl ahkXa `r$k qalt kanh hw wawtyna al`lm mn qblha wkna mslmyn
 
43.  *     And he diverted her from the worship of others besides Allah. for she was (sprung) of a people that had no faith.     She had been diverted by worshiping idols instead of GOD; she belonged to disbelieving people.     وصدها ماكانت تعبد من دون الله انها كانت من قوم كافرين     wSdha makant t`bd mn dwn allh anha kant mn qwm kafryn
 
44.  *     She was asked to enter the lofty Palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water, and she (tucked up her skirts), uncovering her legs. He said: "This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass." She said: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."     She was told, "Go inside the palace." When she saw its interior, she thought it was a pool of water, and she (pulled up her dress,) exposing her legs. He said, "This interior is now paved with crystal." She said, "My Lord, I have wronged my soul. I now submit with Solomon to GOD, Lord of the universe."     قيل لها ادخلي الصرح فلما راته حسبته لجة وكشفت عن ساقيها قال انه صرح ممرد من قوارير قالت رب اني ظلمت نفسي واسلمت مع سليمان لله رب العالمين     qyl lha adKly alSrH flma rath Hsbth lj+ wk$ft `n saqyha qal anh SrH mmrd mn qwaryr qalt rb any Zlmt nfsy waslmt m` slyman llh rb al`almyn
 
45.  *     We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah.: But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other.     We have sent to Thamoud their brother Saaleh, saying, "You shall worship GOD." But they turned into two feuding factions.     ولقد ارسلنا الى ثمود اخاهم صالحا ان اعبدوا الله فاذا هم فريقان يختصمون     wlqd arslna ali xmwd aKahm SalHa an a`bdwa allh faXa hm fryqan yKtSmwn
 
46.  *     He said: "O my people! why ask ye to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only ye ask Allah for forgiveness, ye may hope to receive mercy.     He said, "O my people, why do you hasten to commit evil instead of good works? If only you implore GOD for forgiveness, you may attain mercy."     قال ياقوم لم تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة لولا تستغفرون الله لعلكم ترحمون     qal yaqwm lm tst`jlwn balsyY+ qbl alHsn+ lwla tstGfrwn allh l`lkm trHmwn
 
47.  *     They said: "Ill omen do we augur from thee and those that are with thee". He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah. yea, ye are a people under trial."     They said, "We consider you a bad omen for us, you and those who joined you." He said, "Your omen is fully controlled by GOD. Indeed, you are deviant people."     قالوا اطيرنا بك وبمن معك قال طائركم عند الله بل انتم قوم تفتنون     qalwa aTyrna bk wbmn m`k qal TaYrkm `nd allh bl antm qwm tftnwn
 
48.  *     There were in the city nine men of a family, who made mischief in the land, and would not reform.     There were nine gangsters in the city who were wicked, and never did anything good.     وكان في المدينة تسعة رهط يفسدون في الارض ولايصلحون     wkan fy almdyn+ ts`+ rhT yfsdwn fy alarD wlaySlHwn
 
49.  *     They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'"     They said, "Let us swear by GOD that we kill him and his people, then tell his tribe, `We know nothing about their death. We are truthful.' "     قالوا تقاسموا بالله لنبيتنه واهله ثم لنقولن لوليه ماشهدنا مهلك اهله وانا لصادقون     qalwa tqasmwa ballh lnbytnh wahlh xm lnqwln lwlyh ma$hdna mhlk ahlh wana lSadqwn
 
50.  *     They plotted and planned, but We too planned, even while they perceived it not.     They plotted and schemed, but we also plotted and schemed, while they did not perceive.     ومكروا مكرا ومكرنا مكرا وهم لايشعرون     wmkrwa mkra wmkrna mkra whm lay$`rwn
 
51.  *     Then see what was the end of their plot!- this, that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them).     Note the consequences of their plotting; we annihilated them and all their people.     فانظر كيف كان عاقبة مكرهم انا دمرناهم وقومهم اجمعين     fanZr kyf kan `aqb+ mkrhm ana dmrnahm wqwmhm ajm`yn
 
52.  *     Now such were their houses, - in utter ruin, - because they practised wrong- doing. Verily in this is a Sign for people of knowledge.     Here are their homes utterly ruined, because of their transgression. This should be a lesson for people who know.     فتلك بيوتهم خاوية بما ظلموا ان في ذلك لاية لقوم يعلمون     ftlk bywthm Kawy+ bma Zlmwa an fy Xlk lay+ lqwm y`lmwn
 
53.  *     And We saved those who believed and practised righteousness.     We save those who believe and lead a righteous life.     وانجينا الذين امنوا وكانوا يتقون     wanjyna alXyn amnwa wkanwa ytqwn
 
54.  *     (We also sent) Lut (as an apostle): behold, He said to his people, "Do ye do what is shameful though ye see (its iniquity)?     Lot said to his people, "How could you commit such an abomination, publicly, while you see?     ولوطا اذ قال لقومه اتاتون الفاحشة وانتم تبصرون     wlwTa aX qal lqwmh atatwn alfaH$+ wantm tbSrwn
 
55.  *     Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!     "You practice sex with the men, lustfully, instead of the women. Indeed, you are ignorant people."     ائنكم لتاتون الرجال شهوة من دون النساء بل انتم قوم تجهلون     aYnkm ltatwn alrjal $hw+ mn dwn alnsa' bl antm qwm tjhlwn
 
56.  *     But his people gave no other answer but this: they said, "Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!"     The only response from his people was their saying, "Banish Lot's family from your town; they are people who wish to be pure."     فما كان جواب قومه الا ان قالوا اخرجوا ال لوط من قريتكم انهم اناس يتطهرون     fma kan jwab qwmh ala an qalwa aKrjwa al lwT mn qrytkm anhm anas ytThrwn
 
57.  *     But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind.     Consequently, we saved him and his family, except his wife; we counted her among the doomed.     فانجيناه واهله الا امراته قدرناها من الغابرين     fanjynah wahlh ala amrath qdrnaha mn alGabryn
 
58.  *     And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!     We showered them with a certain shower. It was a miserable shower upon people who had been warned.     وامطرنا عليهم مطرا فساء مطر المنذرين     wamTrna `lyhm mTra fsa' mTr almnXryn
 
59.  *     Say: Praise be to Allah, and Peace on his servants whom He has chosen (for his Message). (Who) is better?- Allah or the false gods they associate (with Him)?     Say, "Praise be to GOD and peace be upon His servants whom He chose. Is GOD better, or the idols some people set up?"     قل الحمد لله وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى ءالله خير اما يشركون     ql alHmd llh wslam `li `badh alXyn aSTfi 'allh Kyr ama y$rkwn
 
60.  *     Or, Who has created the heavens and the earth, and Who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. (Can there be another) god besides Allah. Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice.     Who is the One who created the heavens and the earth? Who is the One who sends down to you from the sky water, whereby we produce gardens full of beauty - you could not possibly manufacture its trees? Is it another god with GOD? Indeed, they are people who have deviated.     امن خلق السماوات والارض وانزل لكم من السماء ماء فانبتنا به حدائق ذات بهجة ماكان لكم ان تنبتوا شجرها ءاله مع الله بل هم قوم يعدلون     amn Klq alsmawat walarD wanzl lkm mn alsma' ma' fanbtna bh HdaYq Xat bhj+ makan lkm an tnbtwa $jrha 'alh m` allh bl hm qwm y`dlwn
 
61.  *     Or, Who has made the earth firm to live in; made rivers in its midst; set thereon mountains immovable; and made a separating bar between the two bodies of flowing water? (can there be another) god besides Allah. Nay, most of them know not.     Who is the One who made the earth habitable, caused rivers to run through it, placed on it mountains, and created a barrier between the two waters? Is it another god with GOD? Indeed, most of them do not know.     امن جعل الارض قرارا وجعل خلالها انهارا وجعل لها رواسي وجعل بين البحرين حاجزا ءاله مع الله بل اكثرهم لايعلمون     amn j`l alarD qrara wj`l Klalha anhara wj`l lha rwasy wj`l byn albHryn Hajza 'alh m` allh bl akxrhm lay`lmwn
 
62.  *     Or, Who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and Who relieves its suffering, and makes you (mankind) inheritors of the earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah. Little it is that ye heed!     Who is the One who rescues those who become desperate and call upon Him, relieves adversity, and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is it another god with GOD? Rarely do you take heed.     امن يجيب المضطر اذا دعاه ويكشف السوء ويجعلكم خلفاء الارض ءاله مع الله قليلا ماتذكرون     amn yjyb almDTr aXa d`ah wyk$f alsw' wyj`lkm Klfa' alarD 'alh m` allh qlyla matXkrwn
 
63.  *     Or, Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy? (Can there be another) god besides Allah.- High is Allah above what they associate with Him!     Who is the One who guides you in the darkness of land and sea? Who is the One who sends the winds with good news, signaling His mercy? Is it another god with GOD? Most exalted is GOD, above having any partner.     امن يهديكم في ظلمات البر والبحر ومن يرسل الرياح بشرا بين يدي رحمته ءاله مع الله تعالى الله عما يشركون     amn yhdykm fy Zlmat albr walbHr wmn yrsl alryaH b$ra byn ydy rHmth 'alh m` allh t`ali allh `ma y$rkwn
 
64.  *     Or, Who originates creation, then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah. Say, "Bring forth your argument, if ye are telling the truth!"     Who is the One who initiates the creation, then repeats it? Who is the One who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Is it another god with GOD? Say, "Show me your proof, if you are truthful."     امن يبدؤ الخلق ثم يعيده ومن يرزقكم من السماء والارض ءاله مع الله قل هاتوا برهانكم ان كنتم صادقين     amn ybdW alKlq xm y`ydh wmn yrzqkm mn alsma' walarD 'alh m` allh ql hatwa brhankm an kntm Sadqyn
 
65.  *     Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).     Say, "No one in the heavens and the earth knows the future except GOD. They do not even perceive how or when they will be resurrected."     قل لايعلم من في السماوات والارض الغيب الا الله ومايشعرون ايان يبعثون     ql lay`lm mn fy alsmawat walarD alGyb ala allh wmay$`rwn ayan yb`xwn
 
66.  *     Still less can their knowledge comprehend the Hereafter: Nay, they are in doubt and uncertainty thereanent; nay, they are blind thereunto!     In fact, their knowledge concerning the Hereafter is confused. In fact, they harbor doubts about it. In fact, they are totally heedless thereof.     بل ادارك علمهم في الاخرة بل هم في شك منها بل هم منها عمون     bl adark `lmhm fy alaKr+ bl hm fy $k mnha bl hm mnha `mwn
 
67.  *     The Unbelievers say: "What! when we become dust,- we and our fathers,- shall we really be raised (from the dead)?     Those who disbelieved said, "After we turn into dust, and also our parents, do we get brought out?     وقال الذين كفروا ءاذا كنا ترابا واباؤنا ائنا لمخرجون     wqal alXyn kfrwa 'aXa kna traba wabaWna aYna lmKrjwn
 
68.  *     "It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."     "We have been given the same promise in the past. These are nothing but tales from the past."     لقد وعدنا هذا نحن واباؤنا من قبل ان هذا الا اساطير الاولين     lqd w`dna hXa nHn wabaWna mn qbl an hXa ala asaTyr alawlyn
 
69.  *     Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty (of sin)."     Say, "Roam the earth and note the consequences for the guilty."     قل سيروا في الارض فانظروا كيف كان عاقبة المجرمين     ql syrwa fy alarD fanZrwa kyf kan `aqb+ almjrmyn
 
70.  *     But grieve not over them, nor distress thyself because of their plots.     Do not grieve over them, and do not be annoyed by their scheming.     ولاتحزن عليهم ولاتكن في ضيق مما يمكرون     wlatHzn `lyhm wlatkn fy Dyq mma ymkrwn
 
71.  *     They also say: "When will this promise (come to pass)? (Say) if ye are truthful."     They say, "When will that promise come to pass, if you are truthful?"     ويقولون متى هذا الوعد ان كنتم صادقين     wyqwlwn mti hXa alw`d an kntm Sadqyn
 
72.  *     Say: "It may be that some of the events which ye wish to hasten on may be (close) in your pursuit!"     Say, "You are already suffering some of the retribution you challenge."     قل عسى ان يكون ردف لكم بعض الذي تستعجلون     ql `si an ykwn rdf lkm b`D alXy tst`jlwn
 
73.  *     But verily thy Lord is full of grace to mankind: Yet most of them are ungrateful.     Your Lord is full of grace towards the people, but most of them are unappreciative.     وان ربك لذو فضل على الناس ولكن اكثرهم لايشكرون     wan rbk lXw fDl `li alnas wlkn akxrhm lay$krwn
 
74.  *     And verily thy Lord knoweth all that their hearts do hide. As well as all that they reveal.     Your Lord fully knows what their chests hide, and what they declare.     وان ربك ليعلم ماتكن صدورهم ومايعلنون     wan rbk ly`lm matkn Sdwrhm wmay`lnwn
 
75.  *     Nor is there aught of the unseen, in heaven or earth, but is (recorded) in a clear record.     There is nothing in the heavens and the earth that is hidden (from God); everything is in a profound record.     ومامن غائبة في السماء والارض الا في كتاب مبين     wmamn GaYb+ fy alsma' walarD ala fy ktab mbyn
 
76.  *     Verily this Qur'an doth explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree.     This Quran settles many issues for the Children of Israel; issues that they are still disputing.     ان هذا القران يقص على بني اسرائيل اكثر الذي هم فيه يختلفون     an hXa alqran yqS `li bny asraYyl akxr alXy hm fyh yKtlfwn
 
77.  *     And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe.     And most assuredly, it is a guide and mercy for the believers.     وانه لهدى ورحمة للمؤمنين     wanh lhdi wrHm+ llmWmnyn
 
78.  *     Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing.     Your Lord is the One who judges among them in accordance with His rules. He is the Almighty, the Omniscient.     ان ربك يقضي بينهم بحكمه وهو العزيز العليم     an rbk yqDy bynhm bHkmh whw al`zyz al`lym
 
79.  *     So put thy trust in Allah. for thou art on (the path of) manifest Truth.     Therefore, put your trust in GOD; you are following the manifest truth.     فتوكل على الله انك على الحق المبين     ftwkl `li allh ank `li alHq almbyn
 
80.  *     Truly thou canst not cause the dead to listen, nor canst thou cause the deaf to hear the call, (especially) when they turn back in retreat.     You cannot make the dead, nor the deaf, hear the call, if they turn away.     انك لاتسمع الموتى ولاتسمع الصم الدعاء اذا ولوا مدبرين     ank latsm` almwti wlatsm` alSm ald`a' aXa wlwa mdbryn
 
81.  *     Nor canst thou be a guide to the blind, (to prevent them) from straying: only those wilt thou get to listen who believe in Our Signs, and they will bow in Islam.     Nor can you guide the blind out of their straying. The only ones who will hear you are those who believe in our revelations, and decide to be submitters.     وماانت بهادي العمي عن ضلالتهم ان تسمع الا من يؤمن باياتنا فهم مسلمون     wmaant bhady al`my `n Dlalthm an tsm` ala mn yWmn bayatna fhm mslmwn
 
82.  *     And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs.     At the right time, we will produce for them a creature, made of earthly materials, declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations.     واذا وقع القول عليهم اخرجنا لهم دابة من الارض تكلمهم ان الناس كانوا باياتنا لايوقنون     waXa wq` alqwl `lyhm aKrjna lhm dab+ mn alarD tklmhm an alnas kanwa bayatna laywqnwn
 
83.  *     One day We shall gather together from every people a troop of those who reject our Signs, and they shall be kept in ranks,-     The day will come when we summon from every community some of those who did not believe in our proofs, forcibly.     ويوم نحشر من كل امة فوجا ممن يكذب باياتنا فهم يوزعون     wywm nH$r mn kl am+ fwja mmn ykXb bayatna fhm ywz`wn
 
84.  *     Until, when they come (before the Judgment-seat), ((Allah)) will say: "Did ye reject My Signs, though ye comprehended them not in knowledge, or what was it ye did?"     When they arrive, He will say, "You have rejected My revelations, before acquiring knowledge about them. Is this not what you did?"     حتى اذا جاؤوا قال اكذبتم باياتي ولم تحيطوا بها علما اماذا كنتم تعملون     Hti aXa jaWwa qal akXbtm bayaty wlm tHyTwa bha `lma amaXa kntm t`mlwn
 
85.  *     And the Word will be fulfilled against them, because of their wrong-doing, and they will be unable to speak (in plea).     They will incur the requital for their wickedness; they will say nothing.     ووقع القول عليهم بما ظلموا فهم لاينطقون     wwq` alqwl `lyhm bma Zlmwa fhm laynTqwn
 
86.  *     See they not that We have made the Night for them to rest in and the Day to give them light? Verily in this are Signs for any people that believe!     Have they not seen that we made the night for their rest, and the day lighted? These should be sufficient proofs for people who believe.     الم يروا انا جعلنا الليل ليسكنوا فيه والنهار مبصرا ان في ذلك لايات لقوم يؤمنون     alm yrwa ana j`lna allyl lysknwa fyh walnhar mbSra an fy Xlk layat lqwm yWmnwn
 
87.  *     And the Day that the Trumpet will be sounded - then will be smitten with terror those who are in the heavens, and those who are on earth, except such as Allah will please (to exempt): and all shall come to His (Presence) as beings conscious of their lowliness.     On the day when the horn is blown, everyone in the heavens and the earth will be horrified, except those chosen by GOD. All will come before Him, forcibly.     ويوم ينفخ في الصور ففزع من في السماوات ومن في الارض الا من شاء الله وكل اتوه داخرين     wywm ynfK fy alSwr ffz` mn fy alsmawat wmn fy alarD ala mn $a' allh wkl atwh daKryn
 
88.  *     Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: (such is) the artistry of Allah, who disposes of all things in perfect order: for he is well acquainted with all that ye do.     When you look at the mountains, you think that they are standing still. But they are moving, like the clouds. Such is the manufacture of GOD, who perfected everything. He is fully Cognizant of everything you do.     وترى الجبال تحسبها جامدة وهي تمر مر السحاب صنع الله الذي اتقن كل شئ انه خبير بما تفعلون     wtri aljbal tHsbha jamd+ why tmr mr alsHab Sn` allh alXy atqn kl $Y anh Kbyr bma tf`lwn
 
89.  *     If any do good, good will (accrue) to them therefrom; and they will be secure from terror that Day.     Those who bring good works (in their records) will receive far better rewards, and they will be perfectly secure from the horrors of that day.     من جاء بالحسنة فله خير منها وهم من فزع يومئذ امنون     mn ja' balHsn+ flh Kyr mnha whm mn fz` ywmYX amnwn
 
90.  *     And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the Fire: "Do ye receive a reward other than that which ye have earned by your deeds?"     As for those who bring evil works, they will be forced into Hell. Do you not get requited for what you did?     ومن جاء بالسيئة فكبت وجوههم في النار هل تجزون الا ماكنتم تعملون     wmn ja' balsyY+ fkbt wjwhhm fy alnar hl tjzwn ala makntm t`mlwn
 
91.  *     For me, I have been commanded to serve the Lord of this city, Him Who has sanctified it and to Whom (belong) all things: and I am commanded to be of those who bow in Islam to Allah.s Will,-     I am simply commanded to worship the Lord of this town - He has made it a safe sanctuary - and He possesses all things. I am commanded to be a submitter.     انما امرت ان اعبد رب هذه البلدة الذي حرمها وله كل شئ وامرت ان اكون من المسلمين     anma amrt an a`bd rb hXh albld+ alXy Hrmha wlh kl $Y wamrt an akwn mn almslmyn
 
92.  *     And to rehearse the Qur'an: and if any accept guidance, they do it for the good of their own souls, and if any stray, say: "I am only a Warner".     And to recite the Quran. Whoever is guided is guided for his own good, and if they go astray, then say, "I am simply a warner."     وان اتلو القران فمن اهتدى فانما يهتدي لنفسه ومن ضل فقل انما انا من المنذرين     wan atlw alqran fmn ahtdi fanma yhtdy lnfsh wmn Dl fql anma ana mn almnXryn
 
93.  *     And say: "Praise be to Allah, Who will soon show you His Signs, so that ye shall know them"; and thy Lord is not unmindful of all that ye do.     And say, "Praise be to GOD; He will show you His proofs, until you recognize them. Your Lord is never unaware of anything you do."     وقل الحمد لله سيريكم اياته فتعرفونها وماربك بغافل عما تعملون     wql alHmd llh syrykm ayath ft`rfwnha wmarbk bGafl `ma t`mlwn
