| 1. * | Those who reject Allah and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah,- their deeds will Allah render astray (from their mark). | Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of GOD, He nullifies their works. | سورة محمد بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله اضل اعمالهم | swr+ mHmd bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? alXyn kfrwa wSdwa `n sbyl allh aDl a`malhm | |||
| 2. * | But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and believe in the (Revelation) sent down to Muhammad - for it is the Truth from their Lord,- He will remove from them their ills and improve their condition. | Those who believe and work righteousness, and believe in what was sent down to Muhammad - which is the truth from their Lord - He remits their sins, and blesses them with contentment. | والذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات وامنوا بمانزل على محمد وهو الحق من ربهم كفر عنهم سيئاتهم واصلح بالهم | walXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat wamnwa bmanzl `li mHmd whw alHq mn rbhm kfr `nhm syYathm waSlH balhm | |||
| 3. * | This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes. | This is because those who disbelieve are following falsehood, while those who believe are following the truth from their Lord. GOD thus cites for the people their examples. | ذلك بان الذين كفروا اتبعوا الباطل وان الذين امنوا اتبعوا الحق من ربهم كذلك يضرب الله للناس امثالهم | Xlk ban alXyn kfrwa atb`wa albaTl wan alXyn amnwa atb`wa alHq mn rbhm kXlk yDrb allh llnas amxalhm | |||
| 4. * | Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah.s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost. | If you encounter (in war) those who disbelieve, you may strike the necks. If you take them as captives you may set them free or ransom them, until the war ends. Had GOD willed, He could have granted you victory, without war. But He thus tests you by one another. As for those who get killed in the cause of GOD, He will never put their sacrifice to waste. | فاذا لقيتم الذين كفروا فضرب الرقاب حتى اذا اثخنتموهم فشدوا الوثاق فاما منا بعد واما فداء حتى تضع الحرب اوزارها ذلك ولو يشاء الله لانتصر منهم ولكن ليبلو بعضكم ببعض والذين قتلوا في سبيل الله فلن يضل اعمالهم | faXa lqytm alXyn kfrwa fDrb alrqab Hti aXa axKntmwhm f$dwa alwxaq fama mna b`d wama fda' Hti tD` alHrb awzarha Xlk wlw y$a' allh lantSr mnhm wlkn lyblw b`Dkm bb`D walXyn qtlwa fy sbyl allh fln yDl a`malhm | |||
| 5. * | Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, | He will guide them, and bless them with contentment. | سيهديهم ويصلح بالهم | syhdyhm wySlH balhm | |||
| 6. * | And admit them to the Garden which He has announced for them. | He will admit them into Paradise, that He described to them. | ويدخلهم الجنة عرفها لهم | wydKlhm aljn+ `rfha lhm | |||
| 7. * | O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. | O you who believe, if you support GOD, He will support you, and strengthen your foothold. | ياايها الذين امنوا ان تنصروا الله ينصركم ويثبت اقدامكم | yaayha alXyn amnwa an tnSrwa allh ynSrkm wyxbt aqdamkm | |||
| 8. * | But those who reject ((Allah)),- for them is destruction, and ((Allah)) will render their deeds astray (from their mark). | Those who disbelieve incur misery; He causes their works to be utterly in vain. | والذين كفروا فتعسا لهم واضل اعمالهم | walXyn kfrwa ft`sa lhm waDl a`malhm | |||
| 9. * | That is because they hate the Revelation of Allah. so He has made their deeds fruitless. | That is because they hated what GOD revealed and consequently, He nullifies their works. | ذلك بانهم كرهوا ماانزل الله فاحبط اعمالهم | Xlk banhm krhwa maanzl allh faHbT a`malhm | |||
| 10. * | Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them (who did evil)? Allah brought utter destruction on them, and similar (fates await) those who reject Allah. | Did they not roam the earth and see the consequences for those before them? GOD destroyed their works; all disbelievers will suffer the same fate. | افلم يسيروا في الارض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم دمر الله عليهم وللكافرين امثالها | aflm ysyrwa fy alarD fynZrwa kyf kan `aqb+ alXyn mn qblhm dmr allh `lyhm wllkafryn amxalha | |||
| 11. * | That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, but those who reject Allah have no protector. | This is because GOD is the Lord of those who believe, while the disbelievers have no lord. | ذلك بان الله مولى الذين امنوا وان الكافرين لامولى لهم | Xlk ban allh mwli alXyn amnwa wan alkafryn lamwli lhm | |||
| 12. * | Verily Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; while those who reject Allah will enjoy (this world) and eat as cattle eat; and the Fire will be their abode. | GOD admits those who believe and lead a righteous life into gardens with flowing streams. As for those who disbelieve, they live and eat like the animals eat, then end up in the hellfire. | ان الله يدخل الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار والذين كفروا يتمتعون وياكلون كما تاكل الانعام والنار مثوى لهم | an allh ydKl alXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat jnat tjry mn tHtha alanhar walXyn kfrwa ytmt`wn wyaklwn kma takl alan`am walnar mxwi lhm | |||
| 13. * | And how many cities, with more power than thy city which has driven thee out, have We destroyed (for their sins)? and there was none to aid them. | Many a community was much stronger than the community that evicted you from your town; when we annihilated them, no one could help them. | وكاين من قرية هي اشد قوة من قريتك التي اخرجتك اهلكناهم فلا ناصر لهم | wkayn mn qry+ hy a$d qw+ mn qrytk alty aKrjtk ahlknahm fla naSr lhm | |||
| 14. * | Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and such as follow their own lusts? | Are those enlightened by their Lord the same as those whose evil works are adorned in their eyes, and they follow their own opinions? | افمن كان على بينة من ربه كمن زين له سوء عمله واتبعوا اهواءهم | afmn kan `li byn+ mn rbh kmn zyn lh sw' `mlh watb`wa ahwa'hm | |||
| 15. * | (Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)? | The allegory of Paradise that is promised for the righteous is this: it has rivers of unpolluted water, and rivers of fresh milk, and rivers of wine - delicious for the drinkers - and rivers of strained honey. They have all kinds of fruits therein, and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are they better) or those who abide forever in the hellfire, and drink hellish water that tears up their intestines? | مثل الجنة التي وعد المتقون فيها انهار من ماء غير اسن وانهار من لبن لم يتغير طعمه وانهار من خمر لذة للشاربين وانهار من عسل مصفى ولهم فيها من كل الثمرات ومغفرة من ربهم كمن هو خالد في النار وسقوا ماء حميما فقطع امعاءهم | mxl aljn+ alty w`d almtqwn fyha anhar mn ma' Gyr asn wanhar mn lbn lm ytGyr T`mh wanhar mn Kmr lX+ ll$arbyn wanhar mn `sl mSfi wlhm fyha mn kl alxmrat wmGfr+ mn rbhm kmn hw Kald fy alnar wsqwa ma' Hmyma fqT` am`a'hm | |||
| 16. * | And among them are men who listen to thee, but in the end, when they go out from thee, they say to those who have received Knowledge, "What is it he said just then?" Such are men whose hearts Allah has sealed, and who follow their own lusts. | Some of them listen to you, then as soon as they leave they ask those who were enlightened, "What did he just say?" GOD thus seals their hearts and, consequently, they follow only their opinions. | ومنهم من يستمع اليك حتى اذا خرجوا من عندك قالوا للذين اوتوا العلم ماذا قال انفا اولئك الذين طبع الله على قلوبهم واتبعوا اهواءهم | wmnhm mn ystm` alyk Hti aXa Krjwa mn `ndk qalwa llXyn awtwa al`lm maXa qal anfa awlYk alXyn Tb` allh `li qlwbhm watb`wa ahwa'hm | |||
| 17. * | But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil). | As for those who are guided, He augments their guidance, and grants them their righteousness. | والذين اهتدوا زادهم هدى واتاهم تقواهم | walXyn ahtdwa zadhm hdi watahm tqwahm | |||
| 18. * | Do they then only wait for the Hour,- that it should come on them of a sudden? But already have come some tokens thereof, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their admonition? | Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come. Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message? | فهل ينظرون الا الساعة ان تاتيهم بغتة فقد جاء اشراطها فانى لهم اذا جاءتهم ذكراهم | fhl ynZrwn ala alsa`+ an tatyhm bGt+ fqd ja' a$raTha fani lhm aXa ja'thm Xkrahm | |||
| 19. * | Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes. | You shall know that: "There is no other god beside GOD," and ask forgiveness of your sins and the sins of all believing men and women. GOD is fully aware of your decisions and your ultimate destiny. | فاعلم انه لااله الاالله واستغفر لذنبك وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات والله يعلم متقلبكم ومثواكم | fa`lm anh laalh alaallh wastGfr lXnbk wllmWmnyn walmWmnat wallh y`lm mtqlbkm wmxwakm | |||
| 20. * | Those who believe say, "Why is not a sura sent down (for us)?" But when a sura of basic or categorical meaning is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein, thou wilt see those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with a look of one in swoon at the approach of death. But more fitting for them- | Those who believed said: "When will a new sura be revealed?" But when a straightforward sura was revealed, wherein fighting was mentioned, you would see those who harbored doubts in their hearts looking at you, as if death had already come to them. They were thus exposed. | ويقول الذين امنوا لولا نزلت سورة فاذا انزلت سورة محكمة وذكر فيها القتال رايت الذين في قلوبهم مرض ينظرون اليك نظر المغشي عليه من الموت فاولى لهم | wyqwl alXyn amnwa lwla nzlt swr+ faXa anzlt swr+ mHkm+ wXkr fyha alqtal rayt alXyn fy qlwbhm mrD ynZrwn alyk nZr almG$y `lyh mn almwt fawli lhm | |||
| 21. * | Were it to obey and say what is just, and when a matter is resolved on, it were best for them if they were true to Allah. | Obedience and righteous utterances are expected of them. If only they showed confidence in GOD, when mobilization was called for, it would have been better for them. | طاعة وقول معروف فاذا عزم الامر فلو صدقوا الله لكان خيرا لهم | Ta`+ wqwl m`rwf faXa `zm alamr flw Sdqwa allh lkan Kyra lhm | |||
| 22. * | Then, is it to be expected of you, if ye were put in authority, that ye will do mischief in the land, and break your ties of kith and kin? | Is it also your intention that as soon as you leave you will commit evil and mistreat your relatives? | فهل عسيتم ان توليتم ان تفسدوا في الارض وتقطعوا ارحامكم | fhl `sytm an twlytm an tfsdwa fy alarD wtqT`wa arHamkm | |||
| 23. * | Such are the men whom Allah has cursed for He has made them deaf and blinded their sight. | It is those who incurred a curse from GOD, whereby He rendered them deaf and blind. | اولئك الذين لعنهم الله فاصمهم واعمى ابصارهم | awlYk alXyn l`nhm allh faSmhm wa`mi abSarhm | |||
| 24. * | Do they not then earnestly seek to understand the Qur'an, or are their hearts locked up by them? | Why do they not study the Quran carefully? Do they have locks on their minds? | افلا يتدبرون القران ام على قلوب اقفالها | afla ytdbrwn alqran am `li qlwb aqfalha | |||
| 25. * | Those who turn back as apostates after Guidance was clearly shown to them,- the Evil One has instigated them and busied them up with false hopes. | Surely, those who slide back, after the guidance has been manifested to them, the devil has enticed them and led them on. | ان الذين ارتدوا على ادبارهم من بعد ماتبين لهم الهدى الشيطان سول لهم واملى لهم | an alXyn artdwa `li adbarhm mn b`d matbyn lhm alhdi al$yTan swl lhm wamli lhm | |||
| 26. * | This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets. | This is because they said to those who hated what GOD has sent down, "We will obey you in certain matters." GOD fully knows their secret conspiracies. | ذلك بانهم قالوا للذين كرهوا مانزل الله سنطيعكم في بعض الامر والله يعلم اسرارهم | Xlk banhm qalwa llXyn krhwa manzl allh snTy`km fy b`D alamr wallh y`lm asrarhm | |||
| 27. * | But how (will it be) when the angels take their souls at death, and smite their faces and their backs? | How will it be for them when the angels put them to death? They will beat them on their faces and their rear ends. | فكيف اذا توفتهم الملائكة يضربون وجوههم وادبارهم | fkyf aXa twfthm almlaYk+ yDrbwn wjwhhm wadbarhm | |||
| 28. * | This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah, and they hated Allah.s good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect. | This is because they followed what angered GOD and hated the things that please Him. Consequently, He has nullified their works. | ذلك بانهم اتبعوا مااسخط الله وكرهوا رضوانه فاحبط اعمالهم | Xlk banhm atb`wa maasKT allh wkrhwa rDwanh faHbT a`malhm | |||
| 29. * | Or do those in whose hearts is a disease, think that Allah will not bring to light all their rancour? | Did those who harbor doubts in their hearts think that GOD will not bring out their evil thoughts? | ام حسب الذين في قلوبهم مرض ان لن يخرج الله اضغانهم | am Hsb alXyn fy qlwbhm mrD an ln yKrj allh aDGanhm | |||
| 30. * | Had We so wiled, We could have shown them up to thee, and thou shouldst have known them by their marks: but surely thou wilt know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all that ye do. | If we will, we can expose them for you, so that you can recognize them just by looking at them. However, you can recognize them by the way they talk. GOD is fully aware of all your works. | ولو نشاء لاريناكهم فلعرفتهم بسيماهم ولتعرفنهم في لحن القول والله يعلم اعمالكم | wlw n$a' larynakhm fl`rfthm bsymahm wlt`rfnhm fy lHn alqwl wallh y`lm a`malkm | |||
| 31. * | And We shall try you until We test those among you who strive their utmost and persevere in patience; and We shall try your reported (mettle). | We will certainly put you to the test, in order to distinguish those among you who strive, and steadfastly persevere. We must expose your true qualities. | ولنبلونكم حتى نعلم المجاهدين منكم والصابرين ونبلوا اخباركم | wlnblwnkm Hti n`lm almjahdyn mnkm walSabryn wnblwa aKbarkm | |||
| 32. * | Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect. | Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of GOD, and oppose the messenger after the guidance has been manifested for them, will never hurt GOD in the least. Instead, He nullifies their works. | ان الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله وشاقوا الرسول من بعد ماتبين لهم الهدى لن يضروا الله شيئا وسيحبط اعمالهم | an alXyn kfrwa wSdwa `n sbyl allh w$aqwa alrswl mn b`d matbyn lhm alhdi ln yDrwa allh $yYa wsyHbT a`malhm | |||
| 33. * | O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the apostle, and make not vain your deeds! | O you who believe, you shall obey GOD, and obey the messenger. Otherwise, all your works will be in vain. | ياايها الذين امنوا اطيعوا الله واطيعوا الرسول ولاتبطلوا اعمالكم | yaayha alXyn amnwa aTy`wa allh waTy`wa alrswl wlatbTlwa a`malkm | |||
| 34. * | Those who reject Allah, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, then die rejecting Allah,- Allah will not forgive them. | Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of GOD, then die as disbelievers, GOD will never forgive them. | ان الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله ثم ماتوا وهم كفار فلن يغفر الله لهم | an alXyn kfrwa wSdwa `n sbyl allh xm matwa whm kfar fln yGfr allh lhm | |||
| 35. * | Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds. | Therefore, you shall not waver and surrender in pursuit of peace, for you are guaranteed victory, and GOD is with you. He will never waste your efforts. | فلا تهنوا وتدعوا الى السلم وانتم الاعلون والله معكم ولن يتركم اعمالكم | fla thnwa wtd`wa ali alslm wantm ala`lwn wallh m`km wln ytrkm a`malkm | |||
| 36. * | The life of this world is but play and amusement: and if ye believe and guard against Evil, He will grant you your recompense, and will not ask you (to give up) your possessions. | This worldly life is no more than play and vanity. But if you believe and lead a righteous life, He will reward you, without asking you for any money. | انما الحياة الدنيا لعب ولهو وان تؤمنوا وتتقوا يؤتكم اجوركم ولايسألكم اموالكم | anma alHya+ aldnya l`b wlhw wan tWmnwa wttqwa yWtkm ajwrkm wlaysAlkm amwalkm | |||
| 37. * | If He were to ask you for all of them, and press you, ye would covetously withhold, and He would bring out all your ill-feeling. | If He asked you for money, to the extent of creating a hardship for you, you might have become stingy, and your hidden evil might be exposed. | ان يسألكموها فيحفكم تبخلوا ويخرج اضغانكم | an ysAlkmwha fyHfkm tbKlwa wyKrj aDGankm | |||
| 38. * | Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance) in the Way of Allah. But among you are some that are niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense of their own souls. But Allah is free of all wants, and it is ye that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you! | You are invited to spend in the cause of GOD, but some of you turn stingy. The stingy are stingy towards their own souls. GOD is Rich, while you are poor. If you turn away, He will substitute other people in your place, and they will not be like you. | هاانتم هؤلاء تدعون لتنفقوا في سبيل الله فمنكم من يبخل ومن يبخل فانما يبخل عن نفسه والله الغني وانتم الغقراء وان تتولوا يستبدل قوما غيركم ثم لايكونوا امثالكم | haantm hWla' td`wn ltnfqwa fy sbyl allh fmnkm mn ybKl wmn ybKl fanma ybKl `n nfsh wallh alGny wantm alGqra' wan ttwlwa ystbdl qwma Gyrkm xm laykwnwa amxalkm | |||
