| 1. * | They ask thee concerning (things taken as) spoils of war. Say: "(such) spoils are at the disposal of Allah and the Messenger. So fear Allah, and keep straight the relations between yourselves: Obey Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe." | They consult you about the spoils of war. Say, "The spoils of war belong to GOD and the messenger." You shall observe GOD, exhort one another to be righteous, and obey GOD and His messenger, if you are believers. | سورة الانفال بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يسألونك عن الانفال قل الانفال لله والرسول فاتقوا الله واصلحوا ذات بينكم واطيعوا الله ورسوله ان كنتم مؤمنين | swr+ alanfal bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ysAlwnk `n alanfal ql alanfal llh walrswl fatqwa allh waSlHwa Xat bynkm waTy`wa allh wrswlh an kntm mWmnyn | |||
| 2. * | For, Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord; | The true believers are those whose hearts tremble when GOD is mentioned, and when His revelations are recited to them, their faith is strengthened, and they trust in their Lord. | انما المؤمنون الذين اذا ذكر الله وجلت قلوبهم واذا تليت عليهم اياته زادتهم ايمانا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون | anma almWmnwn alXyn aXa Xkr allh wjlt qlwbhm waXa tlyt `lyhm ayath zadthm aymana w`li rbhm ytwklwn | |||
| 3. * | Who establish regular prayers and spend (freely) out of the gifts We have given them for sustenance: | They observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), and from our provisions to them, they give to charity. | الذين يقيمون الصلاة ومما رزقناهم ينفقون | alXyn yqymwn alSla+ wmma rzqnahm ynfqwn | |||
| 4. * | Such in truth are the believers: they have grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness, and generous sustenance: | Such are the true believers. They attain high ranks at their Lord, as well as forgiveness and a generous provision. | اولئك هم المؤمنون حقا لهم درجات عند ربهم ومغفرة ورزق كريم | awlYk hm almWmnwn Hqa lhm drjat `nd rbhm wmGfr+ wrzq krym | |||
| 5. * | Just as thy Lord ordered thee out of thy house in truth, even though a party among the Believers disliked it, | Then your Lord willed that you leave your home, to fulfill a specific plan, some believers became exposed as reluctant believers. | كما اخرجك ربك من بيتك بالحق وان فريقا من المؤمنين لكارهون | kma aKrjk rbk mn bytk balHq wan fryqa mn almWmnyn lkarhwn | |||
| 6. * | Disputing with thee concerning the truth after it was made manifest, as if they were being driven to death and they (actually) saw it. | They argued with you against the truth, even after everything was explained to them. They acted as if they were being driven to certain death. | يجادلونك في الحق بعد ماتبين كانما يساقون الى الموت وهم ينظرون | yjadlwnk fy alHq b`d matbyn kanma ysaqwn ali almwt whm ynZrwn | |||
| 7. * | Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;- | Recall that GOD promised you victory over a certain group, but you still wanted to face the weaker group. It was GOD's plan to establish the truth with His words, and to defeat the disbelievers. | واذ يعدكم الله احدى الطائفتين انها لكم وتودون ان غير ذات الشوكة تكون لكم ويريد الله ان يحق الحق بكلماته ويقطع دابر الكافرين | waX y`dkm allh aHdi alTaYftyn anha lkm wtwdwn an Gyr Xat al$wk+ tkwn lkm wyryd allh an yHq alHq bklmath wyqT` dabr alkafryn | |||
| 8. * | That He might justify Truth and prove Falsehood false, distasteful though it be to those in guilt. | For He has decreed that the truth shall prevail, and the falsehood shall vanish, in spite of the evildoers. | ليحق الحق ويبطل الباطل ولو كره المجرمون | lyHq alHq wybTl albaTl wlw krh almjrmwn | |||
| 9. * | Remember ye implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you: "I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, ranks on ranks." | Thus, when you implored your Lord to come to the rescue, He responded to you: "I am supporting you with one thousand angels in succession." | اذ تستغيثون ربكم فاستجاب لكم اني ممدكم بالف من الملائكة مردفين | aX tstGyxwn rbkm fastjab lkm any mmdkm balf mn almlaYk+ mrdfyn | |||
| 10. * | Allah made it but a message of hope, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise. | GOD gave you this good news to strengthen your hearts. Victory comes only from GOD. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. | وماجعله الله الا بشرى ولتطمئن به قلوبكم وماالنصر الا من عند الله ان الله عزيز حكيم | wmaj`lh allh ala b$ri wltTmYn bh qlwbkm wmaalnSr ala mn `nd allh an allh `zyz Hkym | |||
| 11. * | Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith. | He caused peaceful slumber to overtake you and pacify you, and He sent down water from the sky to clean you therewith. He protected you from the devil's curse, reassured your hearts and strengthened your foothold. | اذ يغشيكم النعاس امنة منه وينزل عليكم من السماء ماء ليطهركم به ويذهب عنكم رجز الشيطان وليربط على قلوبكم ويثبت به الاقدام | aX yG$ykm aln`as amn+ mnh wynzl `lykm mn alsma' ma' lyThrkm bh wyXhb `nkm rjz al$yTan wlyrbT `li qlwbkm wyxbt bh alaqdam | |||
| 12. * | Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." | Recall that your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger." | اذ يوحي ربك الى الملائكة اني معكم فثبتوا الذين امنوا سالقي في قلوب الذين كفروا الرعب فاضربوا فوق الاعناق واضربوا منهم كل بنان | aX ywHy rbk ali almlaYk+ any m`km fxbtwa alXyn amnwa salqy fy qlwb alXyn kfrwa alr`b faDrbwa fwq ala`naq waDrbwa mnhm kl bnan | |||
| 13. * | This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger. If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. | This is what they have justly incurred by fighting GOD and His messenger. For those who fight against GOD and His messenger, GOD's retribution is severe. | ذلك بانهم شاقوا الله ورسوله ومن يشاقق الله ورسوله فان الله شديد العقاب | Xlk banhm $aqwa allh wrswlh wmn y$aqq allh wrswlh fan allh $dyd al`qab | |||
| 14. * | Thus (will it be said): "Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire." | This is to punish the disbelievers; they have incurred the retribution of Hell. | ذلكم فذوقوه وان للكافرين عذاب النار | Xlkm fXwqwh wan llkafryn `Xab alnar | |||
| 15. * | O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. | O you who believe, if you encounter the disbelievers who have mobilized against you, do not turn back and flee. | ياايها الذين امنوا اذا لقيتم الذين كفروا زحفا فلا تولوهم الادبار | yaayha alXyn amnwa aXa lqytm alXyn kfrwa zHfa fla twlwhm aladbar | |||
| 16. * | If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)! | Anyone who turns back on that day, except to carry out a battle plan, or to join his group, has incurred wrath from GOD, and his abode is Hell; what a miserable destiny! | ومن يولهم يومئذ دبره الا متحرفا لقتال او متحيزا الى فئة فقد باء بغضب من الله وماواه جهنم وبئس المصير | wmn ywlhm ywmYX dbrh ala mtHrfa lqtal aw mtHyza ali fY+ fqd ba' bGDb mn allh wmawah jhnm wbYs almSyr | |||
| 17. * | It is not ye who slew them; it was Allah. when thou threwest (a handful of dust), it was not thy act, but Allah.s: in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious trial from Himself: for Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). | It was not you who killed them; GOD is the One who killed them. It was not you who threw when you threw; GOD is the One who threw. But He thus gives the believers a chance to earn a lot of credit. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient. | فلم تقتلوهم ولكن الله قتلهم ومارميت اذ رميت ولكن الله رمى وليبلي المؤمنين منه بلاء حسنا ان الله سميع عليم | flm tqtlwhm wlkn allh qtlhm wmarmyt aX rmyt wlkn allh rmi wlybly almWmnyn mnh bla' Hsna an allh smy` `lym | |||
| 18. * | That, and also because Allah is He Who makes feeble the plans and stratagem of the Unbelievers. | Additionally, GOD thus nullifies the schemes of the disbelievers. | ذلكم وان الله موهن كيد الكافرين | Xlkm wan allh mwhn kyd alkafryn | |||
| 19. * | (O Unbelievers!) if ye prayed for victory and judgment, now hath the judgment come to you: if ye desist (from wrong), it will be best for you: if ye return (to the attack), so shall We. Not the least good will your forces be to you even if they were multiplied: for verily Allah is with those who believe! | You sought victory (O disbelievers), and victory did come; it belonged to the believers. If you refrain (from aggression) it would be better for you, but if you return, so will we. Your armies will never help you, no matter how great. For GOD is on the side of the believers. | ان تستفتحوا فقد جاءكم الفتح وان تنتهوا فهو خير لكم وان تعودوا نعد ولن تغني عنكم فئتكم شيئا ولو كثرت وان الله مع المؤمنين | an tstftHwa fqd ja'km alftH wan tnthwa fhw Kyr lkm wan t`wdwa n`d wln tGny `nkm fYtkm $yYa wlw kxrt wan allh m` almWmnyn | |||
| 20. * | O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak). | O you who believe, obey GOD and His messenger, and do not disregard him while you hear. | ياايها الذين امنوا اطيعوا الله ورسوله ولاتولوا عنه وانتم تسمعون | yaayha alXyn amnwa aTy`wa allh wrswlh wlatwlwa `nh wantm tsm`wn | |||
| 21. * | Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: | Do not be like those who say, "We hear," when they do not hear. | ولاتكونوا كالذين قالوا سمعنا وهم لايسمعون | wlatkwnwa kalXyn qalwa sm`na whm laysm`wn | |||
| 22. * | For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb,- those who understand not. | The worst creatures in the sight of GOD are the deaf and dumb, who do not understand. | ان شر الدواب عند الله الصم البكم الذين لايعقلون | an $r aldwab `nd allh alSm albkm alXyn lay`qlwn | |||
| 23. * | If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). | Had GOD known of any good in them, He would have made them hearers. Even if He made them hearers, they still would turn away in aversion. | ولو علم الله فيهم خيرا لاسمعهم ولو اسمعهم لتولوا وهم معرضون | wlw `lm allh fyhm Kyra lasm`hm wlw asm`hm ltwlwa whm m`rDwn | |||
| 24. * | O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall (all) be gathered. | O you who believe, you shall respond to GOD and to the messenger when he invites you to what gives you life. You should know that GOD is closer to you than your heart, and that before Him you will be summoned. | ياايها الذين امنوا استجيبوا لله وللرسول اذا دعاكم لما يحييكم واعلموا ان الله يحول بين المرء وقلبه وانه اليه تحشرون | yaayha alXyn amnwa astjybwa llh wllrswl aXa d`akm lma yHyykm wa`lmwa an allh yHwl byn almr' wqlbh wanh alyh tH$rwn | |||
| 25. * | And fear tumult or oppression, which affecteth not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong: and know that Allah is strict in punishment. | Beware of a retribution that may not be limited to the evildoers among you. You should know that GOD's retribution is severe. | واتقوا فتنة لاتصيبن الذين ظلموا منكم خاصة واعلموا ان الله شديد العقاب | watqwa ftn+ latSybn alXyn Zlmwa mnkm KaS+ wa`lmwa an allh $dyd al`qab | |||
| 26. * | Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. | Remember that you used to be few and oppressed, fearing that the people may snatch you, and He granted you a secure sanctuary, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good provisions, that you may be appreciative. | واذكروا اذ انتم قليل مستضعفون في الارض تخافون ان يتخطفكم الناس فاواكم وايدكم بنصره ورزقكم من الطيبات لعلكم تشكرون | waXkrwa aX antm qlyl mstD`fwn fy alarD tKafwn an ytKTfkm alnas fawakm waydkm bnSrh wrzqkm mn alTybat l`lkm t$krwn | |||
| 27. * | O ye that believe! betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you. | O you who believe, do not betray GOD and the messenger, and do not betray those who trust you, now that you know. | ياايها الذين امنوا لاتخونوا الله والرسول وتخونوا اماناتكم وانتم تعلمون | yaayha alXyn amnwa latKwnwa allh walrswl wtKwnwa amanatkm wantm t`lmwn | |||
| 28. * | And know ye that your possessions and your progeny are but a trial; and that it is Allah with Whom lies your highest reward. | You should know that your money and your children are a test, and that GOD possesses a great recompense. | واعلموا انما اموالكم واولادكم فتنة وان الله عنده اجر عظيم | wa`lmwa anma amwalkm wawladkm ftn+ wan allh `ndh ajr `Zym | |||
| 29. * | O ye who believe! if ye fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion (to judge between right and wrong), remove from you (all) evil (that may afflict) you, and forgive you: for Allah is the Lord of grace unbounded. | O you who believe, if you reverence GOD, He will enlighten you, remit your sins, and forgive you. GOD possesses infinite grace. | ياايها الذين امنوا ان تتقوا الله يجعل لكم فرقانا ويكفر عنكم سيئاتكم ويغفر لكم والله ذو الفضل العظيم | yaayha alXyn amnwa an ttqwa allh yj`l lkm frqana wykfr `nkm syYatkm wyGfr lkm wallh Xw alfDl al`Zym | |||
| 30. * | Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah. | The disbelievers plot and scheme to neutralize you, or kill you, or banish you. However, they plot and scheme, but so does GOD. GOD is the best schemer. | واذ يمكر بك الذين كفروا ليثبتوك او يقتلوك او يخرجوك ويمكرون ويمكر الله والله خير الماكرين | waX ymkr bk alXyn kfrwa lyxbtwk aw yqtlwk aw yKrjwk wymkrwn wymkr allh wallh Kyr almakryn | |||
| 31. * | When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients." | When our revelations are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we wanted to, we could have said the same things. These are no more than tales from the past!" | واذا تتلى عليهم اياتنا قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا ان هذا الا اساطير الاولين | waXa ttli `lyhm ayatna qalwa qd sm`na lw n$a' lqlna mxl hXa an hXa ala asaTyr alawlyn | |||
| 32. * | Remember how they said: "O Allah if this is indeed the Truth from Thee, rain down on us a shower of stones form the sky, or send us a grievous penalty." | They also said, "Our god, if this is really the truth from You, then shower us with rocks from the sky, or pour upon us a painful punishment." | واذ قالوا اللهم ان كان هذا هو الحق من عندك فامطر علينا حجارة من السماء اوائتنا بعذاب اليم | waX qalwa allhm an kan hXa hw alHq mn `ndk famTr `lyna Hjar+ mn alsma' awaYtna b`Xab alym | |||
| 33. * | But Allah was not going to send them a penalty whilst thou wast amongst them; nor was He going to send it whilst they could ask for pardon. | However, GOD is not to punish them while you are in their midst; GOD is not to punish them while they are seeking forgiveness. | وماكان الله ليعذبهم وانت فيهم وماكان الله معذبهم وهم يستغفرون | wmakan allh ly`Xbhm want fyhm wmakan allh m`Xbhm whm ystGfrwn | |||
| 34. * | But what plea have they that Allah should not punish them, when they keep out (men) from the sacred Mosque - and they are not its guardians? No men can be its guardians except the righteous; but most of them do not understand. | Have they not deserved GOD's retribution, by repelling others from the Sacred Masjid, even though they are not the custodians thereof? The true custodians thereof are the righteous, but most of them do not know. | ومالهم الايعذبهم الله وهم يصدون عن المسجد الحرام وماكانوا اولياءه ان اولياؤه الا المتقون ولكن اكثرهم لايعلمون | wmalhm alay`Xbhm allh whm ySdwn `n almsjd alHram wmakanwa awlya'h an awlyaWh ala almtqwn wlkn akxrhm lay`lmwn | |||
| 35. * | Their prayer at the House (of Allah. is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands: (Its only answer can be), "Taste ye the penalty because ye blasphemed." | Their Contact Prayers (Salat) at the shrine (Ka`bah) were no more than a mockery and a means of repelling the people (by crowding them out). Therefore, suffer the retribution for your disbelief. | وماكان صلاتهم عند البيت الا مكاء وتصدية فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون | wmakan Slathm `nd albyt ala mka' wtSdy+ fXwqwa al`Xab bma kntm tkfrwn | |||
| 36. * | The Unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the Unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell;- | Those who disbelieve spend their money to repel others from the way of GOD. They will spend it, then it will turn into sorrow and remorse for them. Ultimately, they will be defeated, and all disbelievers will be summoned to Hell. | ان الذين كفروا ينفقون اموالهم ليصدوا عن سبيل الله فسينفقونها ثم تكون عليهم حسرة ثم يغلبون والذين كفروا الى جهنم يحشرون | an alXyn kfrwa ynfqwn amwalhm lySdwa `n sbyl allh fsynfqwnha xm tkwn `lyhm Hsr+ xm yGlbwn walXyn kfrwa ali jhnm yH$rwn | |||
| 37. * | In order that Allah may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost. | GOD will sift away the bad from the good, then pile the bad on top of each other, all in one pile, then throw it in Hell. Such are the losers. | ليميز الله الخبيث من الطيب ويجعل الخبيث بعضه على بعض فيركمه جميعا فيجعله في جهنم اولئك هم الخاسرون | lymyz allh alKbyx mn alTyb wyj`l alKbyx b`Dh `li b`D fyrkmh jmy`a fyj`lh fy jhnm awlYk hm alKasrwn | |||
| 38. * | Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them). | Tell those who disbelieved: if they stop, all their past will be forgiven. But if they return, they will incur the same fate as their previous counterparts. | قل للذين كفروا ان ينتهوا يغفر لهم ماقد سلف وان يعودوا فقد مضت سنة الاولين | ql llXyn kfrwa an ynthwa yGfr lhm maqd slf wan y`wdwa fqd mDt sn+ alawlyn | |||
| 39. * | And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do. | You shall fight them to ward off oppression, and to practice your religion devoted to GOD alone. If they refrain from aggression, then GOD is fully Seer of everything they do. | وقاتلوهم حتى لاتكون فتنة ويكون الدين كله لله فان انتهوا فان الله بما يعملون بصير | wqatlwhm Hti latkwn ftn+ wykwn aldyn klh llh fan anthwa fan allh bma y`mlwn bSyr | |||
| 40. * | If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help. | If they turn away, then you should know that GOD is your Lord and Master; the best Lord and Master, the best supporter. | وان تولوا فاعلموا ان الله مولاكم نعم المولى ونعم النصير | wan twlwa fa`lmwa an allh mwlakm n`m almwli wn`m alnSyr | |||
| 41. * | And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer,- if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the Day of Testing,- the Day of the meeting of the two forces. For Allah hath power over all things. | You should know that if you gain any spoils in war, one-fifth shall go to GOD and the messenger, to be given to the relatives, the orphans, the poor, and the traveling alien. You will do this if you believe in GOD and in what we revealed to our servant on the day of decision, the day the two armies clashed. GOD is Omnipotent. | واعلموا انما غنتم من شئ فان لله خمسه وللرسول ولذي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وابن السبيل ان كنتم امنتم بالله وماانزلنا على عبدنا يوم الفرقان يوم التقى الجمعان والله على كل شئ قدير | wa`lmwa anma Gntm mn $Y fan llh Kmsh wllrswl wlXy alqrbi walytami walmsakyn wabn alsbyl an kntm amntm ballh wmaanzlna `li `bdna ywm alfrqan ywm altqi aljm`an wallh `li kl $Y qdyr | |||
| 42. * | Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet, ye would certainly have failed in the appointment: But (thus ye met), that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear Sign (had been given), and those who lived might live after a Clear Sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). | Recall that you were on this side of the valley, while they were on the other side. Then their caravan had to move to lower ground. Had you planned it this way, you could not have done it. But GOD was to carry out a predetermined matter, whereby those destined to be annihilated were annihilated for an obvious reason, and those destined to be saved were saved for an obvious reason. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient. | اذ انتم بالعدوة الدنيا وهم بالعدوة القصوى والركب اسفل منكم ولو تواعدتم لاختلفتم في الميعاد ولكن ليقضي الله امرا كان مفعولا ليهلك من هلك عن بينة ويحيى من حي عن بينة وان الله لسميع عليم | aX antm bal`dw+ aldnya whm bal`dw+ alqSwi walrkb asfl mnkm wlw twa`dtm laKtlftm fy almy`ad wlkn lyqDy allh amra kan mf`wla lyhlk mn hlk `n byn+ wyHyi mn Hy `n byn+ wan allh lsmy` `lym | |||
| 43. * | Remember in thy dream Allah showed them to thee as few: if He had shown them to thee as many, ye would surely have been discouraged, and ye would surely have disputed in (your) decision; but Allah saved (you): for He knoweth well the (secrets) of (all) hearts. | GOD made them appear in your dream (O Muhammad) fewer in number. Had He made them appear more numerous, you would have failed, and you would have disputed among yourselves. But GOD saved the situation. He is Knower of the innermost thoughts. | اذ يريكهم الله في منامك قليلا ولو اراكهم كثيرا لفشلتم ولتنازعتم في الامر ولكن الله سلم انه عليم بذات الصدور | aX yrykhm allh fy mnamk qlyla wlw arakhm kxyra lf$ltm wltnaz`tm fy alamr wlkn allh slm anh `lym bXat alSdwr | |||
| 44. * | And remember when ye met, He showed them to you as few in your eyes, and He made you appear as contemptible in their eyes: that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted. For to Allah do all questions go back (for decision). | And when the time came and you faced them, He made them appear fewer in your eyes, and made you appear fewer in their eyes as well. For GOD willed to carry out a certain plan. All decisions are made by GOD. | واذ يريكموهم اذا التقيتم في اعينكم قليلا ويقللكم في اعينهم ليقضي الله امرا كان مفعولا والى الله ترجع الامور | waX yrykmwhm aXa altqytm fy a`ynkm qlyla wyqllkm fy a`ynhm lyqDy allh amra kan mf`wla wali allh trj` alamwr | |||
| 45. * | O ye who believe! When ye meet a force, be firm, and call Allah in remembrance much (and often); that ye may prosper: | O you who believe, when you encounter an army, you shall hold fast and commemorate GOD frequently, that you may succeed. | ياايها الذين امنوا اذا لقيتم فئة فاثبتوا واذكروا الله كثيرا لعلكم تفلحون | yaayha alXyn amnwa aXa lqytm fY+ faxbtwa waXkrwa allh kxyra l`lkm tflHwn | |||
| 46. * | And obey Allah and His Messenger. and fall into no disputes, lest ye lose heart and your power depart; and be patient and persevering: For Allah is with those who patiently persevere: | You shall obey GOD and His messenger, and do not dispute among yourselves, lest you fail and scatter your strength. You shall steadfastly persevere. GOD is with those who steadfastly persevere. | واطيعوا الله ورسوله ولاتنازعوا فتفشلوا وتذهب ريحكم واصبروا ان الله مع الصابرين | waTy`wa allh wrswlh wlatnaz`wa ftf$lwa wtXhb ryHkm waSbrwa an allh m` alSabryn | |||
| 47. * | And be not like those who started from their homes insolently and to be seen of men, and to hinder (men) from the path of Allah. For Allah compasseth round about all that they do. | Do not be like those who left their homes grudgingly, only to show off, and in fact discouraged others from following the path of GOD. GOD is fully aware of everything they do. | ولاتكونوا كالذين خرجوا من ديارهم بطرا ورئاء الناس ويصدون عن سبيل الله والله بما يعملون محيط | wlatkwnwa kalXyn Krjwa mn dyarhm bTra wrYa' alnas wySdwn `n sbyl allh wallh bma y`mlwn mHyT | |||
| 48. * | Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment." | The devil had adorned their works in their eyes, and said, "You cannot be defeated by any people today," and "I will be fighting along with you." But as soon as the two armies faced each other, he turned back on his heels and fled, saying, "I disown you. I see what you do not see. I am afraid of GOD. GOD's retribution is awesome." | واذ زين لهم الشيطان اعمالهم وقال لاغالب لكم اليوم من الناس واني جار لكم فلما تراءت الفئتان نكص على عقبيه وقال اني برئ منكم اني ارى مالاترون اني اخاف الله والله شديد العقاب | waX zyn lhm al$yTan a`malhm wqal laGalb lkm alywm mn alnas wany jar lkm flma tra't alfYtan nkS `li `qbyh wqal any brY mnkm any ari malatrwn any aKaf allh wallh $dyd al`qab | |||
| 49. * | Lo! the hypocrites say, and those in whose hearts is a disease: "These people,- their religion has misled them." But if any trust in Allah, behold! Allah is Exalted in might, Wise. | The hypocrites and those who harbored doubt in their hearts said, "These people are deceived by their religion." However, if one puts his trust in GOD, then GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. | اذ يقول المنافقون والذين في قلوبهم مرض غر هؤلاء دينهم ومن يتوكل علىالله فان الله عزيز حكيم | aX yqwl almnafqwn walXyn fy qlwbhm mrD Gr hWla' dynhm wmn ytwkl `liallh fan allh `zyz Hkym | |||
| 50. * | If thou couldst see, when the angels take the souls of the Unbelievers (at death), (How) they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the penalty of the blazing Fire- | If you could only see those who disbelieved when the angels put them to death! They will beat them on their faces and their rear ends: "Taste the retribution of Hell. | ولو ترى اذ يتوفى الذين كفروا الملائكة يضربون وجوههم وادبارهم وذوقوا عذاب الحريق | wlw tri aX ytwfi alXyn kfrwa almlaYk+ yDrbwn wjwhhm wadbarhm wXwqwa `Xab alHryq | |||
| 51. * | "Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth; for Allah is never unjust to His servants: | "This is a consequence of what your hands have sent forth. GOD is never unjust towards the creatures." | ذلك بما قدمت ايديكم وان الله ليس بظلام للعبيد | Xlk bma qdmt aydykm wan allh lys bZlam ll`byd | |||
| 52. * | "(Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them: They rejected the Signs of Allah, and Allah punished them for their crimes: for Allah is Strong, and Strict in punishment: | This is the same fate as that of Pharaoh's people and those who disbelieved before them. They rejected GOD's revelations, and GOD punished them for their sins. GOD is powerful, and His retribution is severe. | كداب ال فرعون والذين من قبلهم كفروا بايات الله فاخذهم الله بذنوبهم ان الله قوي شديد العقاب | kdab al fr`wn walXyn mn qblhm kfrwa bayat allh faKXhm allh bXnwbhm an allh qwy $dyd al`qab | |||
| 53. * | "Because Allah will never change the grace which He hath bestowed on a people until they change what is in their (own) souls: and verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things)." | GOD does not change a blessing He has bestowed upon any people unless they themselves decide to change. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient. | ذلك بان الله لم يك مغيرا نعمة انعمها على قوم حتى يغيروا مابانفسهم وان الله سميع عليم | Xlk ban allh lm yk mGyra n`m+ an`mha `li qwm Hti yGyrwa mabanfshm wan allh smy` `lym | |||
| 54. * | (Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those before them": They treated as false the Signs of their Lord: so We destroyed them for their crimes, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh: for they were all oppressors and wrong- doers. | Such was the case with the people of Pharaoh and others before them. They first rejected the signs of their Lord. Consequently, we annihilated them for their sins. We drowned Pharaoh's people; the wicked were consistently punished. | كداب ال فرعون والذين من قبلهم كذبوا بايات ربهم فاهلكناهم بذنوبهم واغرقنا ال فرعون وكل كانوا ظالمين | kdab al fr`wn walXyn mn qblhm kXbwa bayat rbhm fahlknahm bXnwbhm waGrqna al fr`wn wkl kanwa Zalmyn | |||
| 55. * | For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe. | The worst creatures in the sight of GOD are those who disbelieved; they cannot believe. | ان شر الدواب عند الله الذين كفروا فهم لايؤمنون | an $r aldwab `nd allh alXyn kfrwa fhm layWmnwn | |||
| 56. * | They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah.. | You reach agreements with them, but they violate their agreements every time; they are not righteous. | الذين عاهدت منهم ثم ينقضون عهدهم في كل مرة وهم لايتقون | alXyn `ahdt mnhm xm ynqDwn `hdhm fy kl mr+ whm laytqwn | |||
| 57. * | If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember. | Therefore, if you encounter them in war, you shall set them up as a deterrent example for those who come after them, that they may take heed. | فاما تثقفنهم في الحرب فشرد بهم من خلفهم لعلهم يذكرون | fama txqfnhm fy alHrb f$rd bhm mn Klfhm l`lhm yXkrwn | |||
| 58. * | If thou fearest treachery from any group, throw back (their covenant) to them, (so as to be) on equal terms: for Allah loveth not the treacherous. | When you are betrayed by a group of people, you shall mobilize against them in the same manner. GOD does not love the betrayers. | واما تخافن من قوم خيانة فانبذ اليهم على سواء ان الله لايحب الخائنين | wama tKafn mn qwm Kyan+ fanbX alyhm `li swa' an allh layHb alKaYnyn | |||
| 59. * | Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly): they will never frustrate (them). | Let not those who disbelieve think that they can get away with it; they can never escape. | ولايحسبن الذين كفروا سبقوا انهم لايعجزون | wlayHsbn alXyn kfrwa sbqwa anhm lay`jzwn | |||
| 60. * | Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. | You shall prepare for them all the power you can muster, and all the equipment you can mobilize, that you may frighten the enemies of GOD, your enemies, as well as others who are not known to you; GOD knows them. Whatever you spend in the cause of GOD will be repaid to you generously, without the least injustice. | واعدوا لهم مااستطعتم من قوة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدو الله وعدوكم واخرين من دونهم لاتعلمونهم الله يعلمهم وماتنفقوا من شئ في سبيل الله يوف اليكم وانتم لاتظلمون | wa`dwa lhm maastT`tm mn qw+ wmn rbaT alKyl trhbwn bh `dw allh w`dwkm waKryn mn dwnhm lat`lmwnhm allh y`lmhm wmatnfqwa mn $Y fy sbyl allh ywf alykm wantm latZlmwn | |||
| 61. * | But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah. for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). | If they resort to peace, so shall you, and put your trust in GOD. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient. | وان جنحوا للسلم فاجنح لها وتوكل على الله انه هو السميع العليم | wan jnHwa llslm fajnH lha wtwkl `li allh anh hw alsmy` al`lym | |||
| 62. * | Should they intend to deceive thee,- verily Allah sufficeth thee: He it is That hath strengthened thee with His aid and with (the company of) the Believers; | If they want to deceive you, then GOD will suffice you. He will help you with His support, and with the believers. | وان يريدوا ان يخدعوك فان حسبك الله هو الذي ايدك بنصره وبالمؤمنين | wan yrydwa an yKd`wk fan Hsbk allh hw alXy aydk bnSrh wbalmWmnyn | |||
| 63. * | And (moreover) He hath put affection between their hearts: not if thou hadst spent all that is in the earth, couldst thou have produced that affection, but Allah hath done it: for He is Exalted in might, Wise. | He has reconciled the hearts (of the believers). Had you spent all the money on earth, you could not reconcile their hearts. But GOD did reconcile them. He is Almighty, Most Wise. | والف بين قلوبهم لو انفقت مافي الارض جميعا ماالفت بين قلوبهم ولكن الله الف بينهم انه عزيز حكيم | walf byn qlwbhm lw anfqt mafy alarD jmy`a maalft byn qlwbhm wlkn allh alf bynhm anh `zyz Hkym | |||
| 64. * | O Messenger. sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto those who follow thee among the Believers. | O you prophet, sufficient for you is GOD and the believers who have followed you. | ياايها النبي حسبك الله ومن اتبعك من المؤمنين | yaayha alnby Hsbk allh wmn atb`k mn almWmnyn | |||
| 65. * | O Messenger. rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding. | O you prophet, you shall exhort the believers to fight. If there are twenty of you who are steadfast, they can defeat two hundred, and a hundred of you can defeat a thousand of those who disbelieved. That is because they are people who do not understand. | ياايها النبي حرض المؤمنين على القتال ان يكن منكم عشرون صابرون يغلبوا مئتين وان يكن منكم مئة يغلبوا الفا من الذين كفروا بانهم قوم لايفقهون | yaayha alnby HrD almWmnyn `li alqtal an ykn mnkm `$rwn Sabrwn yGlbwa mYtyn wan ykn mnkm mY+ yGlbwa alfa mn alXyn kfrwa banhm qwm layfqhwn | |||
| 66. * | For the present, Allah hath lightened your (task), for He knoweth that there is a weak spot in you: But (even so), if there are a hundred of you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred, and if a thousand, they will vanquish two thousand, with the leave of Allah. for Allah is with those who patiently persevere. | Now (that many new people have joined you) GOD has made it easier for you, for He knows that you are not as strong as you used to be. Henceforth, a hundred steadfast believers can defeat two hundred, and a thousand of you can defeat two thousand by GOD's leave. GOD is with those who steadfastly persevere. | الان خفف الله عنكم وعلم ان فيكم ضعفا فان يكن منكم مئة صابرة يغلبوا مئتين وان يكن منكم الف يغلبوا الفين باذن الله والله مع الصابرين | alan Kff allh `nkm w`lm an fykm D`fa fan ykn mnkm mY+ Sabr+ yGlbwa mYtyn wan ykn mnkm alf yGlbwa alfyn baXn allh wallh m` alSabryn | |||
| 67. * | It is not fitting for an apostle that he should have prisoners of war until he hath thoroughly subdued the land. Ye look for the temporal goods of this world; but Allah looketh to the Hereafter: And Allah is Exalted in might, Wise. | No prophet shall acquire captives, unless he participates in the fighting. You people are seeking the materials of this world, while GOD advocates the Hereafter. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. | ما كان لنبي ان يكون له اسرى حتى يثخن في الارض تريدون عرض الدنيا والله يريد الاخرة والله عزيز حكيم | ma kan lnby an ykwn lh asri Hti yxKn fy alarD trydwn `rD aldnya wallh yryd alaKr+ wallh `zyz Hkym | |||
| 68. * | Had it not been for a previous ordainment from Allah, a severe penalty would have reached you for the (ransom) that ye took. | If it were not for a predetermined decree from GOD, you would have suffered, on account of what you took, a terrible retribution. | لولا كتاب من الله سبق لمسكم فيما اخذتم عذاب عظيم | lwla ktab mn allh sbq lmskm fyma aKXtm `Xab `Zym | |||
| 69. * | But (now) enjoy what ye took in war, lawful and good: but fear Allah. for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. | Therefore, eat from the spoils you have earned, that which is lawful and good, and observe GOD. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. | فكلوا مما غنمتم حلالا طيبا واتقوا الله ان الله غفور رحيم | fklwa mma Gnmtm Hlala Tyba watqwa allh an allh Gfwr rHym | |||
| 70. * | O Messenger. say to those who are captives in your hands: "If Allah findeth any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." | O you prophet, tell the prisoners of war in your hands, "If GOD knew of anything good in your hearts, He would have given you better than anything you have lost, and would have forgiven you. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful." | ياايها النبي قل لمن في ايديكم من الاسرى ان يعلم الله في قلوبكم خيرا يؤتكم خيرا مما اخذ منكم ويغفر لكم والله غفور رحيم | yaayha alnby ql lmn fy aydykm mn alasri an y`lm allh fy qlwbkm Kyra yWtkm Kyra mma aKX mnkm wyGfr lkm wallh Gfwr rHym | |||
| 71. * | But if they have treacherous designs against thee, (O Messenger.), they have already been in treason against Allah, and so hath He given (thee) power over them. And Allah so He Who hath (full) knowledge and wisdom. | And if they want to betray you, they have already betrayed GOD. This is why He made them the losers. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise. | وان يريدوا خيانتك فقد خانوا الله من قبل فامكن منهم والله عليم حكيم | wan yrydwa Kyantk fqd Kanwa allh mn qbl famkn mnhm wallh `lym Hkym | |||
| 72. * | Those who believed, and adopted exile, and fought for the Faith, with their property and their persons, in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) friends and protectors, one of another. As to those who believed but came not into exile, ye owe no duty of protection to them until they come into exile; but if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them, except against a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance. And (remember) Allah seeth all that ye do. | Surely, those who believed, and emigrated, and strove with their money and their lives in the cause of GOD, as well as those who hosted them and gave them refuge, and supported them, they are allies of one another. As for those who believe, but do not emigrate with you, you do not owe them any support, until they do emigrate. However, if they need your help, as brethren in faith, you shall help them, except against people with whom you have signed a peace treaty. GOD is Seer of everything you do. | ان الذين امنوا وهاجروا وجاهدوا باموالهم وانفسهم في سبيل الله والذين اووا ونصروا اولئك بعضهم اولياء بعض والذين امنوا ولم يهاجروا مالكم من ولايتهم من شئ حتى يهاجروا وان استنصروكم في الدين فعليكم النصر الا على قوم بينكم وبينهم ميثاق والله بما تعملون بصير | an alXyn amnwa whajrwa wjahdwa bamwalhm wanfshm fy sbyl allh walXyn awwa wnSrwa awlYk b`Dhm awlya' b`D walXyn amnwa wlm yhajrwa malkm mn wlaythm mn $Y Hti yhajrwa wan astnSrwkm fy aldyn f`lykm alnSr ala `li qwm bynkm wbynhm myxaq wallh bma t`mlwn bSyr | |||
| 73. * | The Unbelievers are protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this, (protect each other), there would be tumult and oppression on earth, and great mischief. | Those who disbelieved are allies of one another. Unless you keep these commandments, there will be chaos on earth, and terrible corruption. | والذين كفروا بعضهم اولياء بعض الا تفعلوه تكن فتنة في الارض وفساد كبير | walXyn kfrwa b`Dhm awlya' b`D ala tf`lwh tkn ftn+ fy alarD wfsad kbyr | |||
| 74. * | Those who believe, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith, in the cause of Allah as well as those who give (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) in very truth the Believers: for them is the forgiveness of sins and a provision most generous. | Those who believed and emigrated, and strove in the cause of GOD, as well as those who hosted them and gave them refuge, and supported them, these are the true believers. They have deserved forgiveness and a generous recompense. | والذين امنوا وهاجروا وجاهدوا في سبيل الله والذين اووا ونصروا اولئك هم المؤمنون حقا لهم مغفرة ورزق كريم | walXyn amnwa whajrwa wjahdwa fy sbyl allh walXyn awwa wnSrwa awlYk hm almWmnwn Hqa lhm mGfr+ wrzq krym | |||
| 75. * | And those who accept Faith subsequently, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith in your company,- they are of you. But kindred by blood have prior rights against each other in the Book of Allah. Verily Allah is well-acquainted with all things. | Those who believed afterwards, and emigrated, and strove with you, they belong with you. Those who are related to each other shall be the first to support each other, in accordance with GOD's commandments. GOD is fully aware of all things. | والذين امنوا من بعد وهاجروا وجاهدوا معكم فاولئك منكم واولوا الارحام بعضهم اولى ببعض في كتاب الله ان الله بكل شئ عليم | walXyn amnwa mn b`d whajrwa wjahdwa m`km fawlYk mnkm wawlwa alarHam b`Dhm awli bb`D fy ktab allh an allh bkl $Y `lym | |||
