1.    וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לאמר׃
    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,     Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,     And the Lord said to Moses,
 
2.    דבר  אל־אהרן 
ואל־בניו  וינזרו
מקדשי  בני־ישראל
ולא  יחללו  את־שם
קדשי  אשר  הם
מקדשים  לי  אני
יהוה׃
    Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD.     "Tell Aaron and his sons to separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they make holy to me, and that they not profane my holy name. I am Yahweh.     Give orders to Aaron and to his sons to keep themselves separate from the holy things of the children of Israel which they give to me, and not to make my holy name common: I am the Lord,
 
3.    אמר  אלהם  לדרתיכם 
כל־איש  אשר־יקרב
מכל־זרעכם
אל־הקדשים  אשר
יקדישו  בני־ישראל
ליהוה  וטמאתו  עליו
ונכרתה  הנפש  ההוא
מלפני  אני  יהוה׃
    Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.     "Tell them, 'If anyone of all your seed throughout your generations approaches the holy things, which the children of Israel make holy to Yahweh, having his uncleanness on him, that soul shall be cut off from before me. I am Yahweh.     Say to them, If any man of all your seed through all your generations, being unclean, comes near the holy things which the children of Israel make holy to the Lord, he will be cut off from before me: I am the Lord.
 
4.    איש  איש  מזרע  אהרן 
והוא  צרוע  או  זב
בקדשים  לא  יאכל  עד
אשר  יטהר  והנגע
בכל־טמא־נפש  או
איש  אשר־תצא  ממנו
שכבת־זרע׃
    What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;     "'Whoever of the seed of Aaron is a leper or has an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. Whoever touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goes from him;     No man of the seed of Aaron who is a leper, or who has a flow from his body, may take of the holy food till he is clean. And any man touching anything which is unclean because of the dead, or any man whose seed goes from him;
 
5.    או־איש  אשר  יגע 
בכל־שרץ  אשר
יטמא־לו  או  באדם
אשר  יטמא־לו  לכל
טמאתו׃
    Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;     or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has;     Or anyone touching any unclean thing which goes flat on the earth, or someone by whom he may be made unclean in any way whatever;
 
6.    נפש  אשר  תגע־בו 
וטמאה  עד־הערב  ולא
יאכל  מן־הקדשים  כי
אם־רחץ  בשרו  במים׃
    The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.     the person that touches any such shall be unclean until the evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water.     Any person touching any such unclean thing will be unclean till evening, and may not take of the holy food till his flesh has been bathed in water;
 
7.    ובא  השמש  וטהר 
ואחר  יאכל
מן־הקדשים  כי  לחמו
הוא׃
    And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.     When the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.     And when the sun has gone down he will be clean; and after that he may take part in the holy food, because it is his bread.
 
8.    נבלה  וטרפה  לא 
יאכל  לטמאה־בה  אני
יהוה׃
    That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the LORD.     That which dies of itself, or is torn by animals, he shall not eat, defiling himself by it. I am Yahweh.     That which comes to a natural death, or is attacked by beasts, he may not take as food, for it will make him unclean: I am the Lord.
 
9.    ושמרו  את־משמרתי 
ולא־ישאו  עליו  חטא
ומתו  בו  כי  יחללהו
אני  יהוה  מקדשם׃
    They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do sanctify them.     "'They shall therefore follow my requirements, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it. I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.     So then, let them keep what I have put into their care, for fear that sin may come on them because of it, so causing their death because they have made it common: I am the Lord, who make them holy.
 
10.    וכל־זר  לא־יאכל 
קדש  תושב  כהן
ושכיר  לא־יאכל
קדש׃
    There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.     "'No stranger shall eat of the holy thing: a foreigner living with the priests, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.     No outside person may take of the holy food, or one living as a guest in the priest's house, or a servant working for payment.
 
11.    וכהן  כי־יקנה  נפש 
קנין  כספו  הוא
יאכל  בו  ויליד
ביתו  הם  יאכלו
בלחמו׃
    But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.     But if a priest buys a slave, purchased by his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread.     But any person for whom the priest has given money, to make him his, may take of it with him; and those who come to birth in his house may take of his bread.
 
12.    ובת־כהן  כי  תהיה 
לאיש  זר  הוא
בתרומת  הקדשים  לא
תאכל׃
    If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.     If a priest's daughter is married to an outsider, she shall not eat of the heave offering of the holy things.     And if the daughter of a priest is married to an outside person she may not take of the holy things which are lifted up as offerings.
 
13.    ובת־כהן  כי  תהיה 
אלמנה  וגרושה  וזרע
אין  לה  ושבה
אל־בית  אביה
כנעוריה  מלחם  אביה
תאכל  וכל־זר
לא־יאכל  בו׃
    But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.     But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father's house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father's bread: but no stranger shall eat any of it.     But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or parted from her husband, and has no child, and has come back to her father's house as when she was a girl, she may take of her father's bread; but no outside person may do so.
 
14.    ואיש  כי־יאכל  קדש 
בשגגה  ויסף  חמשיתו
עליו  ונתן  לכהן
את־הקדש׃
    And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.     "'If a man eats something holy unwittingly, then he shall add the fifth part of its value to it, and shall give the holy thing to the priest.     And if a man takes the holy food in error, he will have to give the holy thing back to the priest, with the addition of a fifth part.
 
15.    ולא  יחללו  את־קדשי 
בני  ישראל  את
אשר־ירימו  ליהוה׃
    And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;     The priests shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to Yahweh,     And they may not make common the holy things which the children of Israel give to the Lord,
 
16.    והשיאו  אותם  עון 
אשמה  באכלם
את־קדשיהם  כי  אני
יהוה  מקדשם׃
    Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do sanctify them.     and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt, when they eat their holy things: for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.'"     So causing sin to come on them when they take their holy things for food: I am the Lord who make them holy.
 
17.    וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לאמר׃
    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,     Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,     And the Lord said to Moses,
 
18.    דבר  אל־אהרן 
ואל־בניו  ואל
כל־בני  ישראל
ואמרת  אלהם  איש
איש  מבית  ישראל
ומן־הגר  בישראל
אשר  יקריב  קרבנו
לכל־נדריהם  ולכל־
נדבותם  אשר־יקריבו
ליהוה  לעלה׃
    Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering;     "Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, 'Whoever is of the house of Israel, or of the foreigners in Israel, who offers his offering, whether it be any of their vows, or any of their freewill offerings, which they offer to Yahweh for a burnt offering;     Say to Aaron and to his sons and to all the children of Israel, If any man of the children of Israel, or of another nation living in Israel, makes an offering, given because of an oath or freely given to the Lord for a burned offering;
 
19.    לרצנכם  תמים  זכר 
בבקר  בכשבים
ובעזים׃
    Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.     that you may be accepted, you shall offer a male without blemish, of the bulls, of the sheep, or of the goats.     So that it may be pleasing to the Lord, let him give a male, without any mark, from among the oxen or the sheep or the goats.
 
20.    כל  אשר־בו  מום  לא 
תקריבו  כי־לא
לרצון  יהיה  לכם׃
    But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.     But whatever has a blemish, that you shall not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.     But anything which has a mark you may not give; it will not make you pleasing to the Lord.
 
21.    ואיש  כי־יקריב 
זבח־שלמים  ליהוה
לפלא־נדר  או  לנדבה
בבקר  או  בצאן  תמים
יהיה  לרצון  כל־מום
לא  יהיה־בו׃
    And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.     Whoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.     And whoever makes a peace-offering to the Lord, in payment of an oath or as a free offering, from the herd or the flock, if it is to be pleasing to the Lord, let it be free from any mark or damage.
 
22.    עורת  או  שבור 
או־חרוץ  או־יבלת
או  גרב  או  ילפת
לא־תקריבו  אלה
ליהוה  ואשה
לא־תתנו  מהם
על־המזבח  ליהוה׃
    Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.     Blind, injured, maimed, having a wart, festering, or having a running sore, you shall not offer these to Yahweh, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Yahweh.     Anything blind or broken or damaged or having any disease or any mark on it may not be offered to the Lord; you may not make an offering of it by fire on the altar to the Lord.
 
23.    ושור  ושה  שרוע 
וקלוט  נדבה  תעשה
אתו  ולנדר  לא
ירצה׃
    Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.     Either a bull or a lamb that has any deformity or lacking in his parts, that you may offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.     An ox or a lamb which has more or less than its natural parts, may be given as a free offering; but it will not be taken in payment of an oath.
 
24.    ומעוך  וכתות  ונתוק 
וכרות  לא  תקריבו
ליהוה  ובארצכם  לא
תעשו׃
    Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.     That which has its testicles bruised, crushed, broken, or cut, you shall not offer to Yahweh; neither shall you do thus in your land.     An animal which has its sex parts damaged or crushed or broken or cut, may not be offered to the Lord; such a thing may not be done anywhere in your land.
 
25.    ומיד  בן־נכר  לא 
תקריבו  את־לחם
אלהיכם  מכל־אלה  כי
משחתם  בהם  מום  בם
לא  ירצו  לכם׃
    Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.     Neither shall you offer the bread of your God from the hand of a foreigner of any of these; because their corruption is in them. There is a blemish in them. They shall not be accepted for you.'"     And from one who is not an Israelite you may not take any of these for an offering to the Lord; for they are unclean, there is a mark on them, and the Lord will not be pleased with them.
 
26.    וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לאמר׃
    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,     Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,     And the Lord said to Moses,
 
27.    שור  או־כשב  או־עז 
כי  יולד  והיה  שבעת
ימים  תחת  אמו
ומיום  השמיני
והלאה  ירצה  לקרבן
אשה  ליהוה׃
    When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD.     "When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat, is born, then it shall remain seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for the offering of an offering made by fire to Yahweh.     When an ox or a sheep or a goat is given birth, let it be with its mother for seven days; and after the eighth day it may be taken as an offering made by fire to the Lord.
 
28.    ושור  או־שה  אתו 
ואת־בנו  לא  תשחטו
ביום  אחד׃
    And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day.     Whether it is a cow or ewe, you shall not kill it and its young both in one day.     A cow or a sheep may not be put to death with its young on the same day.
 
29.    וכי־תזבחו 
זבח־תודה  ליהוה
לרצנכם  תזבחו׃
    And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will.     "When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.     And when you make an offering of praise to the Lord, make it in a way which is pleasing to him.
 
30.    ביום  ההוא  יאכל 
לא־תותירו  ממנו
עד־בקר  אני  יהוה׃
    On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am the LORD.     It shall be eaten on the same day; you shall leave none of it until the morning. I am Yahweh.     Let it be used for food on the same day; do not keep any part of it till the morning: I am the Lord.
 
31.    ושמרתם  מצותי 
ועשיתם  אתם  אני
יהוה׃
    Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.     "Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them. I am Yahweh.     So then, keep my orders and do them: I am the Lord.
 
32.    ולא  תחללו  את־שם 
קדשי  ונקדשתי  בתוך
בני  ישראל  אני
יהוה  מקדשכם׃
    Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,     You shall not profane my holy name, but I will be made holy among the children of Israel. I am Yahweh who makes you holy,     And do not make my holy name common; so that it may be kept holy by the children of Israel: I am the Lord who make you holy,
 
33.    המוציא  אתכם  מארץ 
מצרים  להיות  לכם
לאלהים  אני  יהוה׃
    That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.     who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am Yahweh."     Who took you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God: I am the Lord.
