1.    וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לאמר׃
    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,     Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,     And the Lord said to Moses,
 
2.    צו  את־בני  ישראל 
ויקחו  אליך  שמן
זית  זך  כתית  למאור
להעלת  נר  תמיד׃
    Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.     "Command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.     Give orders to the children of Israel to give you clean olive oil for the light, so that a light may be burning at all times,
 
3.    מחוץ  לפרכת  העדת 
באהל  מועד  יערך
אתו  אהרן  מערב
עד־בקר  לפני  יהוה
תמיד  חקת  עולם
לדרתיכם׃
    Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.     Outside of the veil of the Testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.     Outside the veil of the ark in the Tent of meeting; let Aaron see that it is burning from evening till morning at all times before the Lord: it is a rule for ever through all your generations.
 
4.    על  המנרה  הטהרה 
יערך  את־הנרות
לפני  יהוה  תמיד׃
    He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.     He shall keep in order the lamps on the pure gold lampstand before Yahweh continually.     Let Aaron put the lights in order on the support before the Lord at all times.
 
5.    ולקחת  סלת  ואפית 
אתה  שתים  עשרה
חלות  שני  עשרנים
יהיה  החלה  האחת׃
    And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.     "You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts of an ephah{1 ephah is about 22 litres or about 2/3 of a bushel} shall be in one cake.     And take the best meal and make twelve cakes of it, a fifth part of an ephah in every cake.
 
6.    ושמת  אותם  שתים 
מערכות  שש  המערכת
על  השלחן  הטהר
לפני  יהוה׃
    And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.     You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure gold table before Yahweh.     And put them in two lines, six in a line, on the holy table before the Lord.
 
7.    ונתת  על־המערכת 
לבנה  זכה  והיתה
ללחם  לאזכרה  אשה
ליהוה׃
    And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.     You shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Yahweh.     And on the lines of cakes put clean sweet-smelling spices, for a sign on the bread, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
 
8.    ביום  השבת  ביום 
השבת  יערכנו  לפני
יהוה  תמיד  מאת
בני־ישראל  ברית
עולם׃
    Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.     Every Sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually. It is on the behalf of the children of Israel an everlasting covenant.     Every Sabbath day regularly, the priest is to put it in order before the Lord: it is offered for the children of Israel, an agreement made for ever.
 
9.    והיתה  לאהרן 
ולבניו  ואכלהו
במקום  קדש  כי  קדש
קדשים  הוא  לו  מאשי
יהוה  חק־עולם׃
    And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.     It shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute."     And it will be for Aaron and his sons; they are to take it for food in a holy place: it is the most holy of all the offerings made by fire to the Lord, a rule for ever.
 
10.    ויצא  בן־אשה 
ישראלית  והוא
בן־איש  מצרי  בתוך
בני  ישראל  וינצו
במחנה  בן  הישראלית
ואיש  הישראלי׃
    And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;     The son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp.     And a son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel and had a fight with a man of Israel by the tents;
 
11.    ויקב  בן־האשה 
הישראלית  את־השם
ויקלל  ויביאו  אתו
אל־משה  ושם  אמו
שלמית  בת־דברי
למטה־דן׃
    And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the Lord, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)     The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.     And the son of the Israelite woman said evil against the holy Name, with curses; and they took him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.
 
12.    ויניחהו  במשמר 
לפרש  להם  על־פי
יהוה׃
    And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.     They put him in custody, until the will of Yahweh should be declared to them.     And they kept him shut up, till a decision might be given by the mouth of the Lord.
 
13.    וידבר  יהוה  אל־משה 
לאמר׃
    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,     Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,     And the Lord said to Moses,
 
14.    הוצא  את־המקלל 
אל־מחוץ  למחנה
וסמכו  כל־השמעים
את־ידיהם  על־ראשו
ורגמו  אתו
כל־העדה׃
    Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.     "Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.     Take the curser outside the tent-circle; and let all in whose hearing the words were said put their hands on his head, and let him be stoned by all the people.
 
15.    ואל־בני  ישראל 
תדבר  לאמר  איש  איש
כי־יקלל  אלהיו
ונשא  חטאו׃
    And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.     You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.     And say to the children of Israel, As for any man cursing God, his sin will be on his head.
 
16.    ונקב  שם־יהוה  מות 
יומת  רגום
ירגמו־בו  כל־העדה
כגר  כאזרח  בנקבו־
שם  יומת׃
    And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.     He who blasphemes the name of Yahweh, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.     And he who says evil against the name of the Lord will certainly be put to death; he will be stoned by all the people; the man who is not of your nation and one who is an Israelite by birth, whoever says evil against the holy Name is to be put to death.
 
17.    ואיש  כי  יכה 
כל־נפש  אדם  מות
יומת׃
    And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.     "'He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death.     And anyone who takes another's life is certainly to be put to death.
 
18.    ומכה  נפש־בהמה 
ישלמנה  נפש  תחת
נפש׃
    And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.     He who strikes an animal mortally shall make it good, life for life.     And anyone wounding a beast and causing its death, will have to make payment for it: a life for a life.
 
19.    ואיש  כי־יתן  מום 
בעמיתו  כאשר  עשה
כן  יעשה  לו׃
    And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;     If anyone injures his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him:     And if a man does damage to his neighbour, as he has done, so let it be done to him;
 
20.    שבר  תחת  שבר  עין 
תחת  עין  שן  תחת  שן
כאשר  יתן  מום  באדם
כן  ינתן  בו׃
    Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.     fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has injured someone, so shall it be done to him.     Wound for wound, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever damage he has done, so let it be done to him.
 
21.    ומכה  בהמה  ישלמנה 
ומכה  אדם  יומת׃
    And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.     He who kills an animal shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death.     He who puts a beast to death will have to make payment for it; he who puts a man to death will himself be put to death.
 
22.    משפט  אחד  יהיה  לכם 
כגר  כאזרח  יהיה  כי
אני  יהוה  אלהיכם׃
    Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.     You shall have one kind of law, for the foreigner as well as the native-born: for I am Yahweh your God.'"     You are to have the same law for a man of another nation living among you as for an Israelite; for I am the Lord your God.
 
23.    וידבר  משה  אל־בני 
ישראל  ויוציאו
את־המקלל  אל־מחוץ
למחנה  וירגמו  אתו
אבן  ובני־ישראל
עשו  כאשר  צוה  יהוה
את־משה׃
    And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.     Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they brought forth him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses.     And Moses said these words to the children of Israel, and they took the man who had been cursing outside the tent-circle and had him stoned. The children of Israel did as the Lord gave orders to Moses.
