1.    Then Solomon said, "Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.     Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.     אז  אמר  שלמה  יהוה 
אמר  לשכון  בערפל׃
    'aZ 'aMUr ShLMH YHVH 'aMUr LShKVN B'yUrPhL.     Then said Solomon, `Jehovah said -- to dwell in thick darkness,     tunc Salomon ait Dominus pollicitus est ut habitaret in caligine
 
2.    But I have built you a house of habitation, and a place for you to dwell in forever."     But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.     ואני  בניתי 
בית־זבל  לך  ומכון
לשבתך  עולמים׃
    V'aNY BNYThY BYTh-ZBL LK VMKVN LShBThK 'yVLMYM.     and I -- I have built a house of habitation for Thee, and a fixed place for Thy dwelling to the ages.`     ego autem aedificavi domum nomini eius ut habitaret ibi in perpetuum
 
3.    The king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.     And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.     ויסב  המלך  את־פניו 
ויברך  את  כל־קהל
ישראל  וכל־קהל
ישראל  עומד׃
    VYSB HMLK 'aTh-PhNYV VYBUrK 'aTh KL-QHL YShUr'aL VKL-QHL YShUr'aL 'yVMD.     And the king turneth round his face, and blesseth the whole assembly of Israel, and the whole assembly of Israel is standing,     et convertit faciem suam et benedixit universae multitudini Israhel nam omnis turba stabat intenta et ait
 
4.    He said, "Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hands fulfilled it, saying,     And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,     ויאמר  ברוך  יהוה 
אלהי  ישראל  אשר
דבר  בפיו  את  דויד
אבי  ובידיו  מלא
לאמר׃
    VY'aMUr BUrVK YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL 'aShUr DBUr BPhYV 'aTh DVYD 'aBY VBYDYV ML'a L'aMUr.     and he saith, `Blessed is Jehovah, God of Israel, who hath spoken with His mouth with David my father, and with His hands hath fulfilled it, saying:     benedictus Dominus Deus Israhel qui quod locutus est David patri meo opere conplevit dicens
 
5.    'Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:     Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:     מן־היום  אשר

בית  להיות  שמי  שם

להיות  נגיד  על־עמי
ישראל׃
    MN-HYVM 'aShUr HVTSh'aThY 'aTh-'yMY M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM L'a-BChUrThY B'yYUr MKL ShBTY YShUr'aL LBNVTh BYTh LHYVTh ShMY ShM VL'a-BChUrThY B'aYSh LHYVTh NGYD 'yL-'yMY YShUr'aL.     `From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;     a die qua eduxi populum meum de terra Aegypti non elegi civitatem de cunctis tribubus Israhel ut aedificaretur in ea domus nomini meo neque elegi quemquam alium virum ut esset dux in populo meo Israhel
 
6.    but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.'     But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.     ואבחר  בירושלם 
להיות  שמי  שם
ואבחר  בדויד  להיות
על־עמי  ישראל׃
    V'aBChUr BYUrVShLM LHYVTh ShMY ShM V'aBChUr BDVYD LHYVTh 'yL-'yMY YShUr'aL.     and I fix on Jerusalem for My name being there, and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.     sed elegi Hierusalem ut sit nomen meum in ea et elegi David ut constituerem eum super populum meum Israhel
 
7.    Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.     Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.     ויהי  עם־לבב  דויד 
אבי  לבנות  בית  לשם
יהוה  אלהי  ישראל׃
    VYHY 'yM-LBB DVYD 'aBY LBNVTh BYTh LShM YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL.     `And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah God of Israel,     cumque fuisset voluntatis David patris mei ut aedificaret domum nomini Domini Dei Israhel
 
8.    But Yahweh said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart:     But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:     ויאמר  יהוה 
אל־דויד  אבי  יען
אשר  היה  עם־לבבך
לבנות  בית  לשמי
הטיבות  כי  היה
עם־לבבך׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-DVYD 'aBY Y'yN 'aShUr HYH 'yM-LBBK LBNVTh BYTh LShMY HTYBVTh KY HYH 'yM-LBBK.     and Jehovah saith unto David my father, Because that it hath been with thy heart to build a house for My name, thou hast done well that it hath been with thy heart,     dixit Dominus ad eum quia haec fuit voluntas tua ut aedificares domum nomini meo bene quidem fecisti habere huiuscemodi voluntatem
 
9.    nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.'     Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.     רק  אתה  לא  תבנה 
הבית  כי  בנך  היוצא
מחלציך  הוא־יבנה
הבית  לשמי׃
    UrQ 'aThH L'a ThBNH HBYTh KY BNK HYVTSh'a MChLTShYK HV'a-YBNH HBYTh LShMY.     but thou dost not build the house, for thy son who cometh forth out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.     sed non tu aedificabis domum verum filius tuus qui egredietur de lumbis tuis ipse aedificabit domum nomini meo
 
10.    "Yahweh has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.     The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.     ויקם  יהוה  את־דברו 
אשר  דבר  ואקום  תחת
דויד  אבי  ואשב
על־כסא  ישראל  כאשר
דבר  יהוה  ואבנה
הבית  לשם  יהוה
אלהי  ישראל׃
    VYQM YHVH 'aTh-DBUrV 'aShUr DBUr V'aQVM ThChTh DVYD 'aBY V'aShB 'yL-KS'a YShUr'aL K'aShUr DBUr YHVH V'aBNH HBYTh LShM YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL.     `And Jehovah doth establish His word that He spake, and I rise up in the stead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah spake, and I build the house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,     conplevit ergo Dominus sermonem suum quem locutus fuerat et ego surrexi pro David patre meo et sedi super thronum Israhel sicut locutus est Dominus et aedificavi domum nomini Domini Dei Israhel
 
11.    There I have set the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with the children of Israel."     And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.     ואשים  שם  את־הארון 
אשר־שם  ברית  יהוה
אשר  כרת  עם־בני
ישראל׃
    V'aShYM ShM 'aTh-H'aUrVN 'aShUr-ShM BUrYTh YHVH 'aShUr KUrTh 'yM-BNY YShUr'aL.     and I place there the ark, where is the covenant of Jehovah that He made with the sons of Israel.`     et posui in ea arcam in qua est pactum Domini quod pepigit cum filiis Israhel
 
12.    He stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands     And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:     ויעמד  לפני  מזבח 
יהוה  נגד  כל־קהל
ישראל  ויפרש  כפיו׃
    VY'yMD LPhNY MZBCh YHVH NGD KL-QHL YShUr'aL VYPhUrSh KPhYV.     And he standeth before the altar of Jehovah, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth out his hand, --     stetit ergo coram altare Domini ex adverso universae multitudinis Israhel et extendit manus suas
 
13.    (for Solomon had made a bronze scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)     For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,     כי־עשה  שלמה  כיור 
נחשת  ויתנהו  בתוך
העזרה  חמש  אמות
ארכו  וחמש  אמות
רחבו  ואמות  שלוש
קומתו  ויעמד  עליו
ויברך  על־ברכיו
נגד  כל־קהל  ישראל
ויפרש  כפיו
השמימה׃
    KY-'yShH ShLMH KYVUr NChShTh VYThNHV BThVK H'yZUrH ChMSh 'aMVTh 'aUrKV VChMSh 'aMVTh UrChBV V'aMVTh ShLVSh QVMThV VY'yMD 'yLYV VYBUrK 'yL-BUrKYV NGD KL-QHL YShUr'aL VYPhUrSh KPhYV HShMYMH.     for Solomon hath made a scaffold of brass, and putteth it in the midst of the court, five cubits its length, and five cubits its breadth, and three cubits its height, and he standeth upon it, and kneeleth on his knees over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth forth his hands towards the heavens --     siquidem fecerat Salomon basem aeneam et posuerat eam in medio basilicae habentem quinque cubitos longitudinis et quinque cubitos latitudinis et tres cubitos in altum stetitque super eam et deinceps flexis genibus contra universam multitudinem Israhel et palmis in caelum levatis
 
14.    and he said, "Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven, or on earth; you who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;     And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:     ויאמר  יהוה  אלהי 
ישראל  אין־כמוך
אלהים  בשמים  ובארץ
שמר  הברית  והחסד
לעבדיך  ההלכים
לפניך  בכל־לבם׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL 'aYN-KMVK 'aLHYM BShMYM VB'aUrTSh ShMUr HBUrYTh VHChSD L'yBDYK HHLKYM LPhNYK BKL-LBM.     and saith, `O Jehovah God of Israel, there is not like Thee a god in the heavens and in the earth, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Thy servants who are walking before Thee with all their heart;     ait Domine Deus Israhel non est similis tui Deus in caelo et in terra qui custodis pactum et misericordiam cum servis tuis qui ambulant coram te in toto corde suo
 
15.    who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him: yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.     Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.     אשר  שמרת  לעבדך 
דויד  אבי  את
אשר־דברת  לו  ותדבר
בפיך  ובידך  מלאת
כיום  הזה׃
    'aShUr ShMUrTh L'yBDK DVYD 'aBY 'aTh 'aShUr-DBUrTh LV VThDBUr BPhYK VBYDK ML'aTh KYVM HZH.     who hast kept for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him; yea, Thou dost speak with Thy mouth, and with Thy hand hast fulfilled it, as at this day.     qui praestitisti servo tuo David patri meo quaecumque locutus fueras ei et quae ore promiseras opere conplesti sicut et praesens tempus probat
 
16.    "Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.'     Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.     ועתה  יהוה  אלהי 
ישראל  שמר  לעבדך
דויד  אבי  את  אשר
דברת  לו  לאמר
לא־יכרת  לך  איש
מלפני  יושב  על־כסא
ישראל  רק  אם־ישמרו
בניך  את־דרכם  ללכת
בתורתי  כאשר  הלכת
לפני׃
    V'yThH YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL ShMUr L'yBDK DVYD 'aBY 'aTh 'aShUr DBUrTh LV L'aMUr L'a-YKUrTh LK 'aYSh MLPhNY YVShB 'yL-KS'a YShUr'aL UrQ 'aM-YShMUrV BNYK 'aTh-DUrKM LLKTh BThVUrThY K'aShUr HLKTh LPhNY.     `And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel, only, if thy sons watch their way to walk in My law, as thou hast walked before Me.     nunc ergo Domine Deus Israhel imple servo tuo patri meo David quaecumque locutus es dicens non deficiet ex te vir coram me qui sedeat super thronum Israhel ita tamen si custodierint filii tui vias suas et ambulaverint in lege mea sicut et tu ambulasti coram me
 
17.    Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David.     Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.     ועתה  יהוה  אלהי 
ישראל  יאמן  דברך
אשר  דברת  לעבדך
לדויד׃
    V'yThH YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL Y'aMN DBUrK 'aShUr DBUrTh L'yBDK LDVYD.     `And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, is Thy word stedfast that Thou hast spoken to Thy servant, to David,     et nunc Domine Deus Israhel firmetur sermo tuus quem locutus es servo tuo David
 
18.    "But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain you; how much less this house which I have built!     But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!     כי  האמנם  ישב 
אלהים  את־האדם
על־הארץ  הנה  שמים
ושמי  השמים  לא
יכלכלוך  אף
כי־הבית  הזה  אשר
בניתי׃
    KY H'aMNM YShB 'aLHYM 'aTh-H'aDM 'yL-H'aUrTSh HNH ShMYM VShMY HShMYM L'a YKLKLVK 'aPh KY-HBYTh HZH 'aShUr BNYThY.     (for is it true? -- God dwelleth with man on the earth! Lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens, do not contain Thee, how much less this house that I have built?)     ergone credibile est ut habitet Deus cum hominibus super terram si caelum et caeli caelorum non te capiunt quanto magis domus ista quam aedificavi
 
19.    Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and to his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you;     Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:     ופנית  אל־תפלת 
עבדך  ואל־תחנתו
יהוה  אלהי  לשמע
אל־הרנה  ואל־
התפלה  אשר  עבדך
מתפלל  לפניך׃
    VPhNYTh 'aL-ThPhLTh 'yBDK V'aL-ThChNThV YHVH 'aLHY LShM'y 'aL-HUrNH V'aL- HThPhLH 'aShUr 'yBDK MThPhLL LPhNYK.     `And Thou hast turned unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer that Thy servant is praying before Thee,     sed ad hoc tantum facta est ut respicias orationem servi tui et obsecrationem eius Domine Deus meus audias et preces quas fundit famulus tuus coram te
 
20.    that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place where you have said that you would put your name; to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.     That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.     להיות  עיניך  פתחות 
אל־הבית  הזה  יומם
ולילה  אל־המקום
אשר  אמרת  לשום  שמך
שם  לשמוע  אל־התפלה
אשר  יתפלל  עבדך
אל־המקום  הזה׃
    LHYVTh 'yYNYK PhThChVTh 'aL-HBYTh HZH YVMM VLYLH 'aL-HMQVM 'aShUr 'aMUrTh LShVM ShMK ShM LShMV'y 'aL-HThPhLH 'aShUr YThPhLL 'yBDK 'aL-HMQVM HZH.     for Thine eyes being open towards this house by day and by night, towards the place that Thou hast said to put Thy name there, to hearken unto the prayer that Thy servant prayeth towards this place.     ut aperias oculos tuos super domum istam diebus et noctibus super locum in quo pollicitus es ut invocaretur nomen tuum
 
21.    Listen to the petitions of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yes, hear from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.     Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.     ושמעת  אל־תחנוני 
עבדך  ועמך  ישראל
אשר  יתפללו
אל־המקום  הזה  ואתה
תשמע  ממקום  שבתך
מן־השמים  ושמעת
וסלחת׃
    VShM'yTh 'aL-ThChNVNY 'yBDK V'yMK YShUr'aL 'aShUr YThPhLLV 'aL-HMQVM HZH V'aThH ThShM'y MMQVM ShBThK MN-HShMYM VShM'yTh VSLChTh.     `And Thou hast hearkened unto the supplications of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, that they pray towards this place, and Thou dost hear from the place of Thy dwelling, from the heavens, and hast hearkened, and forgiven.     et exaudires orationem quam servus tuus orat in eo exaudi preces famuli tui et populi tui Israhel quicumque oraverit in loco isto et exaudi de habitaculo tuo id est de caelis et propitiare
 
22.    "If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swears before your altar in this house;     If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;     אם־יחטא  איש  לרעהו 
ונשא־בו  אלה
להאלתו  ובא  אלה
לפני  מזבחך  בבית
הזה׃
    'aM-YChT'a 'aYSh LUr'yHV VNSh'a-BV 'aLH LH'aLThV VB'a 'aLH LPhNY MZBChK BBYTh HZH.     `If a man doth sin against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up on him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house --     si peccaverit quispiam in proximum suum et iurare contra eum paratus venerit seque maledicto constrinxerit coram altari in domo ista
 
23.    then hear from heaven, and do, and judge your servants, bringing retribution to the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.     Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.     ואתה  תשמע 
מן־השמים  ועשית
ושפטת  את־עבדיך
להשיב  לרשע  לתת
דרכו  בראשו
ולהצדיק  צדיק  לתת
לו  כצדקתו׃
    V'aThH ThShM'y MN-HShMYM V'yShYTh VShPhTTh 'aTh-'yBDYK LHShYB LUrSh'y LThTh DUrKV BUr'aShV VLHTShDYQ TShDYQ LThTh LV KTShDQThV.     then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast done, and hast judged Thy servants, to give back to the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give to him according to his righteousness.     tu audies de caelo et facies iudicium servorum tuorum ita ut reddas iniquo viam suam in caput proprium et ulciscaris iustum retribuens ei secundum iustitiam suam
 
24.    "If your people Israel be struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall turn again and confess your name, and pray and make supplication before you in this house;     And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;     ואם־ינגף  עמך 
ישראל  לפני  אויב
כי  יחטאו־לך  ושבו
והודו  את־שמך
והתפללו  והתחננו
לפניך  בבית  הזה׃
    V'aM-YNGPh 'yMK YShUr'aL LPhNY 'aVYB KY YChT'aV-LK VShBV VHVDV 'aTh-ShMK VHThPhLLV VHThChNNV LPhNYK BBYTh HZH.     `And if Thy people Israel is smitten before an enemy, because they sin against Thee, and they have turned back and confessed Thy name, and prayed and made supplication before Thee in this house --     si superatus fuerit populus tuus Israhel ab inimicis peccabunt enim tibi et conversi egerint paenitentiam et obsecraverint nomen tuum et fuerint deprecati in loco isto
 
25.    then hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.     Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.     ואתה  תשמע 
מן־השמים  וסלחת
לחטאת  עמך  ישראל
והשיבותם  אל־האדמה
אשר־נתתה  להם
ולאבתיהם׃
    V'aThH ThShM'y MN-HShMYM VSLChTh LChT'aTh 'yMK YShUr'aL VHShYBVThM 'aL-H'aDMH 'aShUr-NThThH LHM VL'aBThYHM.     then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy people Israel, and caused them to turn back unto the ground that Thou hast given to them, and to their fathers.     tu exaudi de caelo et propitiare peccato populi tui Israhel et reduc eos in terram quam dedisti eis et patribus eorum
 
26.    "When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:     When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;     בהעצר  השמים 
ולא־יהיה  מטר  כי
יחטאו־לך  והתפללו
אל־המקום  הזה
והודו  את־שמך
מחטאתם  ישובון  כי
תענם׃

28.    "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;     If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:     רעב  כי־יהיה  בארץ

29.    whatever prayer and supplication be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:     Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:     כל־תפלה  כל־תחנה

30.    then hear from heaven, your dwelling place and forgive, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of the children of men;)     Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)     ואתה  תשמע

    LM'yN YYUr'aVK LLKTh BDUrKYK KL-HYMYM 'aShUr-HM ChYYM 'yL-PhNY H'aDMH 'aShUr NThThH L'aBThYNV.     so that they fear Thee, to walk in Thy ways, all the days that they are living on the face of the ground that Thou hast given to our fathers.     ut timeant te et ambulent in viis tuis cunctis diebus quibus vivunt super faciem terrae quam dedisti patribus nostris
 
32.    "Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for your great name's sake, and your mighty hand, and your outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house:     Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;     וגם  אל־הנכרי  אשר 
לא  מעמך  ישראל  הוא
ובא  מארץ  רחוקה
למען  שמך  הגדול
וידך  החזקה  וזרועך
הנטויה  ובאו
והתפללו  אל־הבית
הזה׃
    VGM 'aL-HNKUrY 'aShUr L'a M'yMK YShUr'aL HV'a VB'a M'aUrTSh UrChVQH LM'yN ShMK HGDVL VYDK HChZQH VZUrV'yK HNTVYH VB'aV VHThPhLLV 'aL-HBYTh HZH.     `And also, unto the stranger who is not of Thy people Israel, and he hath come from a land afar off for the sake of Thy great name, and Thy strong hand, and Thy stretched-out arm, and they have come in and prayed towards this house:     externum quoque qui non est de populo tuo Israhel si venerit de terra longinqua propter nomen tuum magnum et propter manum tuam robustam et brachium tuum extentum et adoraverit in loco isto
 
33.    then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, and fear you, as does your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.     Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.     ואתה  תשמע

34.    "If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;     If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;     כי־יצא  עמך  למלחמה

    KY-YTSh'a 'yMK LMLChMH 'yL-'aVYBYV BDUrK 'aShUr ThShLChM VHThPhLLV 'aLYK DUrK H'yYUr HZ'aTh 'aShUr BChUrTh BH VHBYTh 'aShUr-BNYThY LShMK.     `When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemies in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Thee the way of this city that Thou hast fixed on, and the house that I have built for Thy name:     si egressus fuerit populus tuus ad bellum contra adversarios suos per viam in qua miseris eos adorabunt te contra viam in qua civitas haec est quam elegisti et domus quam aedificavi nomini tuo

36.    "If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn't sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to a land far off or near;     If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;     כי  יחטאו־לך  כי 
אין  אדם  אשר
לא־יחטא  ואנפת  בם
ונתתם  לפני  אויב
ושבום  שוביהם

37.    yet if they shall repent themselves in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;'     Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;     והשיבו  אל־לבבם 
בארץ  אשר  נשבו־שם
ושבו  והתחננו  אליך
בארץ  שבים  לאמר

ורשענו׃
