| 2. | "On the first day of the first month you shall raise up the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting. | On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. |
ביום־החדש הראשון באחד לחדש תקים את־משכן אהל מועד׃ |
BYVM-HChDSh HUr'aShVN B'aChD LChDSh ThQYM 'aTh-MShKN 'aHL MV'yD. | `On the first day of the month, in the first month, thou dost raise up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, | mense primo die prima mensis eriges tabernaculum testimonii | |||||
| 3. | You shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall screen the ark with the veil. | And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail. |
ושמת שם את ארון העדות וסכת על־הארן את־הפרכת׃ |
VShMTh ShM 'aTh 'aUrVN H'yDVTh VSKTh 'yL-H'aUrN 'aTh-HPhUrKTh. | and hast set there the ark of the testimony, and hast covered over the ark with the vail, | et pones in eo arcam dimittesque ante illam velum | |||||
| 4. | You shall bring in the table, and set in order the things that are on it. You shall bring in the lampstand, and light its lamps. | And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. |
והבאת את־השלחן וערכת את־ערכו והבאת את־המנרה והעלית את־נרתיה׃ |
VHB'aTh 'aTh-HShLChN V'yUrKTh 'aTh-'yUrKV VHB'aTh 'aTh-HMNUrH VH'yLYTh 'aTh-NUrThYH. | and hast brought in the table, and set its arrangement in order, and hast brought in the candlestick, and caused its lamps to go up. | et inlata mensa pones super eam quae rite praecepta sunt candelabrum stabit cum lucernis suis | |||||
| 5. | You shall set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle. | And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle. |
ונתתה את־מזבח הזהב לקטרת לפני ארון העדת ושמת את־מסך הפתח למשכן׃ |
VNThThH 'aTh-MZBCh HZHB LQTUrTh LPhNY 'aUrVN H'yDTh VShMTh 'aTh-MSK HPhThCh LMShKN. | `And thou hast put the golden altar for perfume before the ark of the testimony, and hast put the covering of the opening to the tabernacle, | et altare aureum in quo adoletur incensum coram arca testimonii tentorium in introitu tabernaculi pones | |||||
| 6. | "You shall set the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting. | And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. |
ונתתה את מזבח העלה לפני פתח משכן אהל־מועד׃ |
VNThThH 'aTh MZBCh H'yLH LPhNY PhThCh MShKN 'aHL-MV'yD. | and hast put the altar of the burnt-offering before the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, | et ante illud altare holocausti | |||||
| 7. | You shall set the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and shall put water therein. | And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein. |
ונתת את־הכיר בין־אהל מועד ובין המזבח ונתת שם מים׃ |
VNThTh 'aTh-HKYUr BYN-'aHL MV'yD VBYN HMZBCh VNThTh ShM MYM. | and hast put the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and hast put water there. | labrum inter altare et tabernaculum quod implebis aqua | |||||
| 8. | You shall set up the court around it, and hang up the screen of the gate of the court. | And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate. |
ושמת את־החצר סביב ונתת את־מסך שער החצר׃ |
VShMTh 'aTh-HChTShUr SBYB VNThTh 'aTh-MSK Sh'yUr HChTShUr. | `And thou hast set the court round about, and hast placed the covering of the gate of the court, | circumdabisque atrium tentoriis et ingressum eius | |||||
| 9. | "You shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shall make it holy, and all its furniture: and it will be holy. | And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy. |
ולקחת את־שמן המשחה ומשחת את־המשכן ואת־כל־אשר־בו וקדשת אתו ואת־ כל־כליו והיה קדש׃ |

| 10. | You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and the altar will be most holy. | And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy. |
ומשחת את־מזבח העלה ואת־כל־כליו וקדשת את־המזבח והיה המזבח קדש קדשים׃ |

| 11. | You shall anoint the basin and its base, and sanctify it. | And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it. |

| 12. | "You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall wash them with water. | And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. |
והקרבת את־אהרן ואת־בניו אל־פתח אהל מועד ורחצת אתם במים׃ |
VHQUrBTh 'aTh-'aHUrN V'aTh-BNYV 'aL-PhThCh 'aHL MV'yD VUrChTShTh 'aThM BMYM. | `And thou hast brought near Aaron and his sons unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and hast bathed them with water; | adplicabisque Aaron et filios eius ad fores tabernaculi testimonii et lotos aqua | |||||
| 13. | You shall put on Aaron the holy garments; and you shall anoint him, and sanctify him, that he may minister to me in the priest's office. | And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. |
והלבשת את־אהרן את בגדי הקדש ומשחת אתו וקדשת אתו וכהן לי׃ |
VHLBShTh 'aTh-'aHUrN 'aTh BGDY HQDSh VMShChTh 'aThV VQDShTh 'aThV VKHN LY. | and thou hast clothed Aaron with the holy garments, and anointed him, and sanctified him, and he hath acted as priest to Me. | indues sanctis vestibus ut ministrent mihi et unctio eorum in sacerdotium proficiat sempiternum | |||||
| 14. | You shall bring his sons, and put coats on them. | And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: |
ואת־בניו תקריב והלבשת אתם כתנת׃ |
V'aTh-BNYV ThQUrYB VHLBShTh 'aThM KThNTh. | `And his sons thou dost bring near, and hast clothed them with coats, | fecitque Moses omnia quae praeceperat Dominus | |||||
| 15. | You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the priest's office. Their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations." | And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. |
ומשחת אתם כאשר משחת את־אביהם וכהנו לי והיתה להית להם משחתם לכהנת עולם לדרתם׃ |
VMShChTh 'aThM K'aShUr MShChTh 'aTh-'aBYHM VKHNV LY VHYThH LHYTh LHM MShChThM LKHNTh 'yVLM LDUrThM. | and anointed them as thou hast anointed their father, and they have acted as priests to Me, and their anointing hath been to be to them for a priesthood age-during, to their generations.` | igitur mense primo anni secundi in prima die mensis conlocatum est tabernaculum | |||||
| 16. | Moses did so. According to all that Yahweh commanded him, so he did. | Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he. |
ויעש משה ככל אשר צוה יהוה אתו כן עשה׃ |
VY'ySh MShH KKL 'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aThV KN 'yShH. | And Moses doth according to all that Jehovah hath commanded him; so he hath done. | erexitque illud Moses et posuit tabulas ac bases et vectes statuitque columnas | |||||
| 17. | It happened in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up. | And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up. |
ויהי בחדש הראשון בשנה השנית באחד לחדש הוקם המשכן׃ |
VYHY BChDSh HUr'aShVN BShNH HShNYTh B'aChD LChDSh HVQM HMShKN. | And it cometh to pass, in the first month, in the second year, in the first of the month, the tabernacle hath been raised up; | et expandit tectum super tabernaculum inposito desuper operimento sicut Dominus imperarat | |||||
| 18. | Moses raised up the tabernacle, and laid its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and raised up its pillars. | And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars. |
ויקם משה את־המשכן ויתן את־אדניו וישם את־קרשיו ויתן את־בריחיו ויקם את־עמודיו׃ |
VYQM MShH 'aTh-HMShKN VYThN 'aTh-'aDNYV VYShM 'aTh-QUrShYV VYThN 'aTh-BUrYChYV VYQM 'aTh-'yMVDYV. | and Moses raiseth up the tabernacle, and setteth its sockets, and placeth its boards, and placeth its bars, and raiseth its pillars, | posuit et testimonium in arca subditis infra vectibus et oraculum desuper | |||||
| 19. | He spread the covering over the tent, and put the roof of the tabernacle above on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
ויפרש את־האהל על־המשכן וישם את־מכסה האהל עליו מלמעלה כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
VYPhUrSh 'aTh-H'aHL 'yL-HMShKN VYShM 'aTh-MKSH H'aHL 'yLYV MLM'yLH K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and spreadeth the tent over the tabernacle, and putteth the covering of the tent upon it above, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | cumque intulisset arcam in tabernaculum adpendit ante eam velum ut expleret Domini iussionem | |||||
| 20. | He took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the mercy seat above on the ark. | And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark: |
ויקח ויתן את־העדת אל־הארן וישם את־הבדים על־הארן ויתן את־ הכפרת על־הארן מלמעלה׃ |
VYQCh VYThN 'aTh-H'yDTh 'aL-H'aUrN VYShM 'aTh-HBDYM 'yL-H'aUrN VYThN 'aTh- HKPhUrTh 'yL-H'aUrN MLM'yLH. | And he taketh and putteth the testimony unto the ark, and setteth the staves on the ark, and putteth the mercy-seat on the ark above; | posuit et mensam in tabernaculo testimonii ad plagam septentrionalem extra velum | |||||
| 21. | He brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
ויבא את־הארן אל־המשכן וישם את פרכת המסך ויסך על ארון העדות כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
VYB'a 'aTh-H'aUrN 'aL-HMShKN VYShM 'aTh PhUrKTh HMSK VYSK 'yL 'aUrVN H'yDVTh K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and bringeth in the ark unto the tabernacle, and placeth the vail of the covering, and covereth over the ark of the testimony, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | ordinatis coram propositionis panibus sicut praeceperat Dominus Mosi | |||||
| 22. | He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, outside of the veil. | And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail. |
ויתן את־השלחן באהל מועד על ירך המשכן צפנה מחוץ לפרכת׃ |
VYThN 'aTh-HShLChN B'aHL MV'yD 'yL YUrK HMShKN TShPhNH MChVTSh LPhUrKTh. | And he putteth the table in the tent of meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, at the outside of the vail, | posuit et candelabrum in tabernaculum testimonii e regione mensae in parte australi | |||||
| 23. | He set the bread in order on it before Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
ויערך עליו ערך לחם לפני יהוה כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
VY'yUrK 'yLYV 'yUrK LChM LPhNY YHVH K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and setteth in order upon it the arrangement of bread, before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | locatis per ordinem lucernis iuxta praeceptum Domini | |||||
| 24. | He put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward. | And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward. |
וישם את־המנרה באהל מועד נכח השלחן על ירך המשכן נגבה׃ |
VYShM 'aTh-HMNUrH B'aHL MV'yD NKCh HShLChN 'yL YUrK HMShKN NGBH. | And he putteth the candlestick in the tent of meeting, over-against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward, | posuit et altare aureum sub tecto testimonii contra velum | |||||
| 25. | He lit the lamps before Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
ויעל הנרת לפני יהוה כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
VY'yL HNUrTh LPhNY YHVH K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and causeth the lamps to go up before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | et adolevit super eo incensum aromatum sicut iusserat Dominus | |||||
| 26. | He put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting before the veil; | And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail: |
וישם את־מזבח הזהב באהל מועד לפני הפרכת׃ |
VYShM 'aTh-MZBCh HZHB B'aHL MV'yD LPhNY HPhUrKTh. | And he setteth the golden altar in the tent of meeting, before the vail, | posuit et tentorium in introitu tabernaculi | |||||
| 27. | and he burnt incense of sweet spices on it, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
ויקטר עליו קטרת סמים כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
VYQTUr 'yLYV QTUrTh SMYM K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and maketh perfume on it -- spice-perfume -- as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | et altare holocausti in vestibulo testimonii offerens in eo holocaustum et sacrificia ut Dominus imperarat | |||||
| 28. | He put up the screen of the door to the tabernacle. | And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle. |

VYShM 'aTh-MSK HPhThCh LMShKN. | And he setteth the covering of the opening to the tabernacle, | labrum quoque statuit inter tabernaculum testimonii et altare implens illud aqua | |||||
| 29. | He set the altar of burnt offering at the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
ואת מזבח העלה שם פתח משכן אהל־מועד ויעל עליו את־העלה ואת־ המנחה כאשר צוה יהוה את־משה׃ |
V'aTh MZBCh H'yLH ShM PhThCh MShKN 'aHL-MV'yD VY'yL 'yLYV 'aTh-H'yLH V'aTh- HMNChH K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh-MShH. | and the altar of the burnt-offering he hath set at the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and causeth the burnt-offering to go up upon it, and the present, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | laveruntque Moses et Aaron ac filii eius manus suas et pedes | |||||
| 30. | He set the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water therein, with which to wash. | And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal. |
וישם את־הכיר בין־אהל מועד ובין המזבח ויתן שמה מים לרחצה׃ |
VYShM 'aTh-HKYUr BYN-'aHL MV'yD VBYN HMZBCh VYThN ShMH MYM LUrChTShH. | And he putteth the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and putteth water there for washing, | cum ingrederentur tectum foederis et accederent ad altare sicut praeceperat Dominus | |||||
| 31. | Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and their feet there. | And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat: |
ורחצו ממנו משה ואהרן ובניו את־ידיהם ואת־רגליהם׃ |
VUrChTShV MMNV MShH V'aHUrN VBNYV 'aTh-YDYHM V'aTh-UrGLYHM. | and Moses and Aaron and his sons have washed their hands and their feet at the same; | erexit et atrium per gyrum tabernaculi et altaris ducto in introitu eius tentorio postquam cuncta perfecta sunt | |||||
| 32. | When they went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came near to the altar, they washed, as Yahweh commanded Moses. | When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses. |
בבאם אל־אהל מועד ובקרבתם אל־המזבח ירחצו כאשר צוה יהוה את־ משה׃ |
BB'aM 'aL-'aHL MV'yD VBQUrBThM 'aL-HMZBCh YUrChTShV K'aShUr TShVH YHVH 'aTh- MShH. | in their going in unto the tent of meeting, and in their drawing near unto the altar, they wash, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. | operuit nubes tabernaculum testimonii et gloria Domini implevit illud | |||||
| 33. | He raised up the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work. | And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. |
ויקם את־החצר סביב למשכן ולמזבח ויתן את־מסך שער החצר ויכל משה את־המלאכה׃ |
VYQM 'aTh-HChTShUr SBYB LMShKN VLMZBCh VYThN 'aTh-MSK Sh'yUr HChTShUr VYKL MShH 'aTh-HML'aKH. | And he raiseth up the court round about the tabernacle, and about the altar, and placeth the covering of the gate of the court; and Moses completeth the work. | nec poterat Moses ingredi tectum foederis nube operiente omnia et maiestate Domini coruscante quia cuncta nubes operuerat | |||||
| 34. | Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. | Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. |
ויכס הענן את־אהל מועד וכבוד יהוה מלא את־המשכן׃ |
VYKS H'yNN 'aTh-'aHL MV'yD VKBVD YHVH ML'a 'aTh-HMShKN. | And the cloud covereth the tent of meeting, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle; | si quando nubes tabernaculum deserebat proficiscebantur filii Israhel per turmas suas | |||||
| 35. | Moses wasn't able to enter into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and Yahweh's glory filled the tabernacle. | And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. |
ולא־יכל משה לבוא אל־אהל מועד כי־שכן עליו הענן וכבוד יהוה מלא את־המשכן׃ |
VL'a-YKL MShH LBV'a 'aL-'aHL MV'yD KY-ShKN 'yLYV H'yNN VKBVD YHVH ML'a 'aTh-HMShKN. | and Moses hath not been able to go in unto the tent of meeting, for the cloud hath tabernacled on it, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle. | si pendebat desuper manebant in eodem loco | |||||
| 36. | When the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys; | And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: |
ובהעלות הענן מעל המשכן יסעו בני ישראל בכל מסעיהם׃ |
VBH'yLVTh H'yNN M'yL HMShKN YS'yV BNY YShUr'aL BKL MS'yYHM. | And in the going up of the cloud from off the tabernacle the sons of Israel journey in all their journeys; | ||||||
| 37. | but if the cloud wasn't taken up, then they didn't travel until the day that it was taken up. | But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. |
ואם־לא יעלה הענן ולא יסעו עד־יום העלתו׃ |
V'aM-L'a Y'yLH H'yNN VL'a YS'yV 'yD-YVM H'yLThV. | and if the cloud go not up then they journey not, until the day of its going up: | ||||||
| 38. | For the cloud of Yahweh was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. | For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. |
כי ענן יהוה על־המשכן יומם ואש תהיה לילה בו לעיני כל־בית־ ישראל בכל־מסעיהם׃ |
KY 'yNN YHVH 'yL-HMShKN YVMM V'aSh ThHYH LYLH BV L'yYNY KL-BYTh- YShUr'aL BKL-MS'yYHM. | for the cloud of Jehovah is on the tabernacle by day, and fire is in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel in all their journeys. | ||||||
