VYHY BShNH HShBY'yYTh BChMShY B'yShVUr LChDSh B'aV 'aNShYM MZQNY YShUr'aL LDUrSh 'aTh-YHVH VYShBV LPhNY. | And it cometh to pass, in the seventh year, in the fifth month, in the tenth of the month, come in have certain of the elders of Israel to seek Jehovah, and they sit before me; | et factum est in anno septimo in quinto mense in decima mensis venerunt viri de senioribus Israhel ut interrogarent Dominum et sederunt coram me | |||||

| 3. | Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you. | Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you. |
בן־אדם דבר את־זקני ישראל ואמרת אלהם כה אמר אדני יהוה הלדרש אתי אתם באים חי־אני אם־אדרש לכם נאם אדני יהוה׃ |

התשפט אתם התשפוט בן־אדם את־תועבת אבותם הודיעם׃ |

| 5. | and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Yahweh your God; | And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God; |
ואמרת אליהם כה־אמר אדני יהוה ביום בחרי בישראל ואשא ידי לזרע בית יעקב ואודע להם בארץ מצרים ואשא ידי להם לאמר אני יהוה אלהיכם׃ |

BYVM HHV'a NSh'aThY YDY LHM LHVTShY'aM M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM 'aL-'aUrTSh 'aShUr-ThUrThY LHM ZBTh ChLB VDBSh TShBY HY'a LKL-H'aUrTShVTh. | In that day I did lift up My hand to them, To bring them forth from the land of Egypt, Unto a land that I spied out for them, Flowing with milk and honey, A beauty it is to all the lands, | in die illa levavi manum meam pro eis ut educerem eos de terra Aegypti in terram quam provideram eis fluentem lacte et melle quae est egregia inter omnes terras | |||||
| 7. | I said to them, Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes, and don't defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God. | Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. |
ואמר אלהם איש שקוצי עיניו השליכו ובגלולי מצרים אל־תטמאו אני יהוה אלהיכם׃ |
V'aMUr 'aLHM 'aYSh ShQVTShY 'yYNYV HShLYKV VBGLVLY MTShUrYM 'aL-ThTM'aV 'aNY YHVH 'aLHYKM. | And I say unto them, Let each cast away the detestable things of his eyes, And with the idols of Egypt be not defiled, I am Jehovah your God. | et dixi ad eos unusquisque offensiones oculorum suorum abiciat et in idolis Aegypti nolite pollui ego Dominus Deus vester | |||||
| 8. | But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me; they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. | But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. |

VYMUrV-BY VL'a 'aBV LShM'y 'aLY 'aYSh 'aTh-ShQVTShY 'yYNYHM L'a HShLYKV V'aTh- GLVLY MTShUrYM L'a 'yZBV V'aMUr LShPhK ChMThY 'yLYHM LKLVTh 'aPhY BHM BThVK 'aUrTSh MTShUrYM. | And -- they rebel against Me, And have not been willing to hearken to Me, Each, the detestable things of their eyes, They have not cast away, And the idols of Egypt have not forsaken, And I say -- to pour out My fury on them, To complete Mine anger against them, In the midst of the land of Egypt. | et inritaverunt me nolueruntque audire unusquisque abominationes oculorum suorum non proiecit nec idola Aegypti reliquerunt et dixi ut effunderem indignationem meam super eos et implerem iram meam in eis in medio terrae Aegypti | |||||
| 9. | But I worked for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt. | But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt. |
ואעש למען שמי לבלתי החל לעיני הגוים אשר־המה בתוכם אשר נודעתי אליהם לעיניהם להוציאם מארץ מצרים׃ |
V'a'ySh LM'yN ShMY LBLThY HChL L'yYNY HGVYM 'aShUr-HMH BThVKM 'aShUr NVD'yThY 'aLYHM L'yYNYHM LHVTShY'aM M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM. | And I do it for My name`s sake, Not to pollute it before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they are, Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt. | et feci propter nomen meum ut non violaretur coram gentibus in quarum medio erant et inter quas apparui eis ut educerem eos de terra Aegypti | |||||
| 10. | So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. | Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. |
ואוציאם מארץ מצרים ואבאם אל־המדבר׃ |
V'aVTShY'aM M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM V'aB'aM 'aL-HMDBUr. | And I bring them out of the land of Egypt, And I bring them in unto the wilderness, | eieci ergo eos de terra Aegypti et eduxi in desertum | |||||
| 11. | I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them. | And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. |
ואתן להם את־חקותי ואת־משפטי הודעתי אותם אשר יעשה אותם האדם וחי בהם׃ |
V'aThN LHM 'aTh-ChQVThY V'aTh-MShPhTY HVD'yThY 'aVThM 'aShUr Y'yShH 'aVThM H'aDM VChY BHM. | And I give to them My statutes, And my judgments I caused them to know, Which the man who doth -- liveth by them. | et dedi eis praecepta mea et iudicia mea ostendi eis quae faciat homo et vivat in eis | |||||
| 12. | Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies them. | Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. |
וגם את־שבתותי נתתי להם להיות לאות ביני וביניהם לדעת כי אני יהוה מקדשם׃ |
VGM 'aTh-ShBThVThY NThThY LHM LHYVTh L'aVTh BYNY VBYNYHM LD'yTh KY 'aNY YHVH MQDShM. | And also My sabbaths I have given to them, To be for a sign between Me and them, To know that I am Jehovah their sanctifier. | insuper et sabbata mea dedi eis ut esset signum inter me et eos et scirent quia ego Dominus sanctificans eos | |||||
| 13. | But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn't walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them. | But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. |
וימרו־בי בית־ישראל במדבר בחקותי לא־הלכו ואת־משפטי מאסו אשר יעשה אתם האדם וחי בהם ואת־שבתתי חללו מאד ואמר לשפך חמתי עליהם במדבר לכלותם׃ |

| 16. | because they rejected my ordinances, and didn't walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. | Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. |
יען במשפטי מאסו ואת־חקותי לא־הלכו בהם ואת־שבתותי חללו כי אחרי גלוליהם לבם הלך׃ |
Y'yN BMShPhTY M'aSV V'aTh-ChQVThY L'a-HLKV BHM V'aTh-ShBThVThY ChLLV KY 'aChUrY GLVLYHM LBM HLK. | Because against My judgments they did kick, And in My statutes they have not walked, And My sabbaths they have polluted, For after their idols their heart is going. | quia iudicia mea proiecerunt et in praeceptis meis non ambulaverunt et sabbata mea violaverunt post idola enim cor eorum gradiebatur | |||||
| 17. | Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn't destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness. | Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. |

| 18. | I said to their children in the wilderness, Don't walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols. | But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: |
ואמר אל־בניהם במדבר בחוקי אבותיכם אל־תלכו ואת־משפטיהם אל־ תשמרו ובגלוליהם אל־תטמאו׃ |
V'aMUr 'aL-BNYHM BMDBUr BChVQY 'aBVThYKM 'aL-ThLKV V'aTh-MShPhTYHM 'aL- ThShMUrV VBGLVLYHM 'aL-ThTM'aV. | And I say to their sons in the wilderness: In the statutes of your fathers ye walk not, And their judgments ye do not observe, And with their idols ye are not defiled. | dixi autem ad filios eorum in solitudine in praeceptis patrum vestrorum nolite incedere nec iudicia eorum custodiatis nec in idolis eorum polluamini | |||||

| 20. | and make my Sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God. | And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. |
ואת־שבתותי קדשו והיו לאות ביני וביניכם לדעת כי אני יהוה אלהיכם׃ |
V'aTh-ShBThVThY QDShV VHYV L'aVTh BYNY VBYNYKM LD'yTh KY 'aNY YHVH 'aLHYKM. | And My sabbaths sanctify, And they have been for a sign between Me and you, To know that I, Jehovah, am your God. | et sabbata mea sanctificate ut sit signum inter me et vos et sciatur quia ego Dominus Deus vester | |||||
| 21. | But the children rebelled against me; they didn't walk in my statutes, neither kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. | Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. |

| 23. | Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries; | I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; |
גם־אני נשאתי את־ידי להם במדבר להפיץ אתם בגוים ולזרות אותם בארצות׃ |

Y'yN MShPhTY L'a-'yShV VChQVThY M'aSV V'aTh-ShBThVThY ChLLV V'aChUrY GLVLY 'aBVThM HYV 'yYNYHM. | Because My judgments they have not done, And My statutes they have despised, And My sabbaths they have polluted, And after idols of their fathers have their eyes been. | eo quod iudicia mea non fecissent et praecepta mea reprobassent et sabbata mea violassent et post idola patrum suorum fuissent oculi eorum | |||||
| 25. | Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they should not live; | Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; |

לכן דבר אל־בית ישראל בן־אדם ואמרת אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה עוד זאת גדפו אותי אבותיכם במעלם בי מעל׃ |
