1.    You also, son of man, take a tile, and lay it before yourself, and portray on it a city, even Jerusalem:     Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:     ואתה  בן־אדם  קח־לך 
לבנה  ונתתה  אותה
לפניך  וחקות  עליה
עיר  את־  ירושלם׃
    V'aThH BN-'aDM QCh-LK LBNH VNThThH 'aVThH LPhNYK VChQVTh 'yLYH 'yYUr 'aTh- YUrVShLM.     `And thou, son of man, take to thee a brick, and thou hast put it before thee, and hast graven on it a city -- Jerusalem,     et tu fili hominis sume tibi laterem et pones eum coram te et describes in eo civitatem Hierusalem
 
2.    and lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it; set camps also against it, and plant battering rams against it all around.     And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.     ונתתה  עליה  מצור 
ובנית  עליה  דיק
ושפכת  עליה  סללה
ונתתה  עליה  מחנות
ושים־עליה  כרים
סביב׃
    VNThThH 'yLYH MTShVUr VBNYTh 'yLYH DYQ VShPhKTh 'yLYH SLLH VNThThH 'yLYH MChNVTh VShYM-'yLYH KUrYM SBYB.     and hast placed against it a siege, and builded against it a fortification, and poured out against it a mount, and placed against it camps, yea, set thou against it battering-rams round about.     et ordinabis adversus eam obsidionem et aedificabis munitiones et conportabis aggerem et dabis contra eam castra et pones arietes in gyro
 
3.    Take for yourself an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city: and set your face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.     Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.     ואתה  קח־לך  מחבת 
ברזל  ונתתה  אותה
קיר  ברזל  בינך
ובין  העיר  והכינתה
את־פניך  אליה
והיתה  במצור  וצרת
עליה  אות  היא  לבית
ישראל׃
    V'aThH QCh-LK MChBTh BUrZL VNThThH 'aVThH QYUr BUrZL BYNK VBYN H'yYUr VHKYNThH 'aTh-PhNYK 'aLYH VHYThH BMTShVUr VTShUrTh 'yLYH 'aVTh HY'a LBYTh YShUr'aL.     And thou, take to thee an iron pan, and thou hast made it a wall of iron between thee and the city; and thou hast prepared thy face against it, and it hath been in a siege, yea, thou hast laid siege against it. A sign it is to the house of Israel.     et tu sume tibi sartaginem ferream et pones eam murum ferreum inter te et inter civitatem et obfirmabis faciem tuam ad eam et erit in obsidionem et circumdabis eam signum est domui Israhel
 
4.    Moreover lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; [according to] the number of the days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity.     Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.     ואתה  שכב  על־צדך 
השמאלי  ושמת
את־עון  בית־ישראל
עליו  מספר  הימים
אשר  תשכב  עליו  תשא
את־עונם׃
    V'aThH ShKB 'yL-TShDK HShM'aLY VShMTh 'aTh-'yVN BYTh-YShUr'aL 'yLYV MSPhUr HYMYM 'aShUr ThShKB 'yLYV ThSh'a 'aTh-'yVNM.     `And thou, lie on thy left side, and thou hast placed the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; the number of the days that thou liest on it, thou bearest their iniquity.     et tu dormies super latus tuum sinistrum et pones iniquitates domus Israhel super eo numero dierum quibus dormies super illud et adsumes iniquitatem eorum
 
5.    For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be to you a number of days, even three hundred ninety days: so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.     For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.     ואני  נתתי  לך 
את־שני  עונם  למספר
ימים  שלש־מאות
ותשעים  יום  ונשאת
עון  בית־ישראל׃
    V'aNY NThThY LK 'aTh-ShNY 'yVNM LMSPhUr YMYM ShLSh-M'aVTh VThSh'yYM YVM VNSh'aTh 'yVN BYTh-YShUr'aL.     And I -- I have laid on thee the years of their iniquity, the number of days, three hundred and ninety days; and thou hast borne the iniquity of the house of Israel.     ego autem dedi tibi annos iniquitatis eorum numero dierum trecentos et nonaginta dies et portabis iniquitatem domus Israhel
 
6.    Again, when you have accomplished these, you shall lie on your right side, and shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah: forty days, each day for a year, have I appointed it to you.     And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.     וכלית  את־אלה 
ושכבת  על־צדך
הימוני  שנית  ונשאת
את־עון  בית־יהודה
ארבעים  יום  יום
לשנה  יום  לשנה
נתתיו  לך׃
    VKLYTh 'aTh-'aLH VShKBTh 'yL-TShDK HYMVNY ShNYTh VNSh'aTh 'aTh-'yVN BYTh-YHVDH 'aUrB'yYM YVM YVM LShNH YVM LShNH NThThYV LK.     And thou hast completed these, and hast lain on thy right side, a second time, and hast borne the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days -- a day for a year -- a day for a year I have appointed to thee.     et cum conpleveris haec dormies super latus tuum dextrum secundo et adsumes iniquitatem domus Iuda quadraginta diebus diem pro anno diem inquam pro anno dedi tibi
 
7.    You shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with your arm uncovered; and you shall prophesy against it.     Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.     ואל־מצור  ירושלם 
תכין  פניך  וזרעך
חשופה  ונבאת  עליה׃
    V'aL-MTShVUr YUrVShLM ThKYN PhNYK VZUr'yK ChShVPhH VNB'aTh 'yLYH.     `And unto the siege of Jerusalem thou dost prepare thy face, and thine arm is uncovered, and thou hast prophesied concerning it.     et ad obsidionem Hierusalem convertes faciem tuam et brachium tuum erit exertum et prophetabis adversus eam
 
8.    Behold, I lay bands on you, and you shall not turn you from one side to the other, until you have accomplished the days of your siege.     And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.     והנה  נתתי  עליך 
עבותים  ולא־תהפך
מצדך  אל־צדך
עד־כלותך  ימי
מצורך׃
    VHNH NThThY 'yLYK 'yBVThYM VL'a-ThHPhK MTShDK 'aL-TShDK 'yD-KLVThK YMY MTShVUrK.     And lo, I have put on thee thick bands, and thou dost not turn from side to side till thy completing the days of thy siege.     ecce circumdedi te vinculis et non te convertes a latere tuo in latus aliud donec conpleas dies obsidionis tuae
 
9.    Take for yourself also wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it; [according to] the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, even three hundred ninety days, you shall eat of it.     Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.     ואתה  קח־לך  חטין 
ושערים  ופול
ועדשים  ודחן
וכסמים  ונתתה  אותם
בכלי  אחד  ועשית
אותם  לך  ללחם  מספר
הימים  אשר־אתה
שוכב  על־צדך  שלש־
מאות  ותשעים  יום
תאכלנו׃
    V'aThH QCh-LK ChTYN VSh'yUrYM VPhVL V'yDShYM VDChN VKSMYM VNThThH 'aVThM BKLY 'aChD V'yShYTh 'aVThM LK LLChM MSPhUr HYMYM 'aShUr-'aThH ShVKB 'yL-TShDK ShLSh- M'aVTh VThSh'yYM YVM Th'aKLNV.     `And thou, take to thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and spelt, and thou hast put them in one vessel, and made them to thee for bread; the number of the days that thou art lying on thy side -- three hundred and ninety days -- thou dost eat it.     et tu sume tibi frumentum et hordeum et fabam et lentem et milium et viciam et mittes ea in vas unum et facies tibi panes numero dierum quibus dormies super latus tuum trecentis et nonaginta diebus comedes illud
 
10.    Your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time you shall eat it.     And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.     ומאכלך  אשר  תאכלנו 
במשקול  עשרים  שקל
ליום  מעת  עד־עת
תאכלנו׃
    VM'aKLK 'aShUr Th'aKLNV BMShQVL 'yShUrYM ShQL LYVM M'yTh 'yD-'yTh Th'aKLNV.     And thy food that thou dost eat is by weight, twenty shekels daily; from time to time thou dost eat it.     cibus autem tuus quo vesceris erit in pondere viginti stateres in die a tempore usque ad tempus comedes illud
 
11.    You shall drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: from time to time you shall drink.     Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.     ומים  במשורה  תשתה 
ששית  ההין  מעת
עד־עת  תשתה׃
    VMYM BMShVUrH ThShThH ShShYTh HHYN M'yTh 'yD-'yTh ThShThH.     `And water by measure thou dost drink, a sixth part of the hin; from time to time thou dost drink it.     et aquam in mensura bibes sextam partem hin a tempore usque ad tempus bibes illud
 
12.    You shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it in their sight with dung that comes out of man.     And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.     ועגת  שערים  תאכלנה 
והיא  בגללי  צאת
האדם  תעגנה
לעיניהם׃
    V'yGTh Sh'yUrYM Th'aKLNH VHY'a BGLLY TSh'aTh H'aDM Th'yGNH L'yYNYHM.     A barley-cake thou dost eat it, and it with dung -- the filth of man -- thou dost bake before their eyes.     et quasi subcinericium hordiacium comedes illud et stercore quod egredietur de homine operies illud in oculis eorum
 
13.    Yahweh said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations where I will drive them.     And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.     ויאמר  יהוה  ככה 
יאכלו  בני־ישראל
את־לחמם  טמא  בגוים
אשר  אדיחם  שם׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH KKH Y'aKLV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aTh-LChMM TM'a BGVYM 'aShUr 'aDYChM ShM.     And Jehovah saith, `Thus do the sons of Israel eat their defiled bread among the nations whither I drive them.`     et dixit Dominus sic comedent filii Israhel panem suum pollutum inter gentes ad quas eiciam eos
 
14.    Then said I, Ah Lord Yahweh! behold, my soul has not been polluted; for from my youth up even until now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of animals; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.     Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.     ואמר  אהה  אדני 
יהוה  הנה  נפשי  לא
מטמאה  ונבלה  וטרפה
לא־אכלתי  מנעורי
ועד־עתה  ולא־בא
בפי  בשר  פגול׃
    V'aMUr 'aHH 'aDNY YHVH HNH NPhShY L'a MTM'aH VNBLH VTUrPhH L'a-'aKLThY MN'yVUrY V'yD-'yThH VL'a-B'a BPhY BShUr PhGVL.     And I say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, lo, my soul is not defiled, and carcase, and torn thing, I have not eaten from my youth, even till now; nor come into my mouth hath abominable flesh.`     et dixi ha ha ha Domine Deus ecce anima mea non est polluta et morticinum et laceratum a bestiis non comedi ab infantia mea usque nunc et non est ingressa os meum omnis caro inmunda
 
15.    Then he said to me, Behold, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung, and you shall prepare your bread thereon.     Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.     ויאמר  אלי  ראה 
נתתי  לך  את־צפועי
הבקר  תחת  גללי
האדם  ועשית  את־
לחמך  עליהם׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLY Ur'aH NThThY LK 'aTh-TShPhV'yY HBQUr ThChTh GLLY H'aDM V'yShYTh 'aTh- LChMK 'yLYHM.     And He saith unto me, `See, I have given to thee bullock`s dung instead of man`s dung, and thou hast made thy bread by it.`     et dixit ad me ecce dedi tibi fimum boum pro stercoribus humanis et facies panem tuum in eo
 
16.    Moreover he said to me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with fearfulness; and they shall drink water by measure, and in dismay:     Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:     ויאמר  אלי  בן־אדם 
הנני  שבר  מטה־לחם
בירושלם  ואכלו־לחם
במשקל  ובדאגה  ומים
במשורה  ובשממון
ישתו׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLY BN-'aDM HNNY ShBUr MTH-LChM BYUrVShLM V'aKLV-LChM BMShQL VBD'aGH VMYM BMShVUrH VBShMMVN YShThV.     And He saith unto me, `Son of man, lo, I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they have eaten bread by weight and with fear; and water by measure and with astonishment, they do drink;     et dixit ad me fili hominis ecce ego conteram baculum panis in Hierusalem et comedent panem in pondere et in sollicitudine et aquam in mensura et in angustia bibent
 
17.    that they may want bread and water, and be dismayed one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.     That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.     למען  יחסרו  לחם 
ומים  ונשמו  איש
ואחיו  ונמקו
בעונם׃
    LM'yN YChSUrV LChM VMYM VNShMV 'aYSh V'aChYV VNMQV B'yVNM.     so that they lack bread and water, and have been astonished one with another, and been consumed in their iniquity.     ut deficientibus pane et aqua corruat unusquisque ad fratrem suum et contabescant in iniquitatibus suis
