| 12. | All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them." | And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. | και παρεκαλεσαν αυτον λεγοντες πεμψον ημας εις τους χοιρους ινα εις αυτους εισελθωμεν | and all the demons did call upon him, saying, `Send us to the swine, that into them we may enter;` | et deprecabantur eum spiritus dicentes mitte nos in porcos ut in eos introeamus | ||||
| 13. | At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. | And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. | 20. | He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled. | And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. | και απηλθεν και ηρξατο κηρυσσειν εν τη δεκαπολει οσα εποιησεν αυτω ο ιησους και παντες εθαυμαζον | and he went away, and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus did to him, and all were wondering. | et abiit et coepit praedicare in Decapoli quanta sibi fecisset Iesus et omnes mirabantur | ||||
| 21. | When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea. | And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. | και διαπερασαντος του ιησου [εν τω πλοιω] παλιν εις το περαν συνηχθη οχλος πολυς επ αυτον και ην παρα την θαλασσαν | And Jesus having passed over in the boat again to the other side, there was gathered a great multitude to him, and he was near the sea, | et cum transcendisset Iesus in navi rursus trans fretum convenit turba multa ad illum et erat circa mare | ||||
| 22. | Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet, | And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, | και ερχεται εις των αρχισυναγωγων ονοματι ιαιροσ και ιδων αυτον πιπτει προς τους ποδας αυτου | and lo, there doth come one of the chiefs of the synagogue, by name Jairus, and having seen him, he doth fall at his feet, | et venit quidam de archisynagogis nomine Iairus et videns eum procidit ad pedes eius | ||||
| 23. | and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live." | And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. | και παρακαλει αυτον πολλα λεγων οτι το θυγατριον μου εσχατως εχει ινα ελθων επιθης τας χειρας αυτη ινα σωθη και ζηση | and he was calling upon him much, saying -- `My little daughter is at the last extremity -- that having come, thou mayest lay on her thy hands, so that she may be saved, and she shall live;` | et deprecabatur eum multum dicens quoniam filia mea in extremis est veni inpone manus super eam ut salva sit et vivat | ||||
| 24. | He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides. | And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. | και απηλθεν μετ αυτου και ηκολουθει αυτω οχλος πολυς και συνεθλιβον αυτον | and he went away with him. And there was following him a great multitude, and they were thronging him, | et abiit cum illo et sequebatur eum turba multa et conprimebant illum | ||||

| 28. | For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well." | For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. | ελεγεν γαρ οτι εαν αψωμαι καν των ιματιων αυτου σωθησομαι | for she said -- `If even his garments I may touch, I shall be saved;` | dicebat enim quia si vel vestimentum eius tetigero salva ero | ||||
| 29. | Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. | And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. | και ευθυσ εξηρανθη η πηγη του αιματος αυτης και εγνω τω σωματι οτι ιαται απο της μαστιγος | and immediately was the fountain of her blood dried up, and she knew in the body that she hath been healed of the plague. | et confestim siccatus est fons sanguinis eius et sensit corpore quod sanata esset a plaga | ||||

| 35. | While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?" | While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? | ετι αυτου λαλουντος ερχονται απο του αρχισυναγωγου λεγοντες οτι η θυγατηρ σου απεθανεν τι ετι σκυλλεις τον διδασκαλον | As he is yet speaking, there come from the chief of the synagogue`s house, certain, saying -- `Thy daughter did die, why still dost thou harass the Teacher?` | adhuc eo loquente veniunt ab archisynagogo dicentes quia filia tua mortua est quid ultra vexas magistrum | ||||
| 36. | But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Don't be afraid, only believe." | As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. | ο δε ιησους παρακουσασ τον λογον λαλουμενον λεγει τω αρχισυναγωγω μη φοβου μονον πιστευε | And Jesus immediately, having heard the word that is spoken, saith to the chief of the synagogue, `Be not afraid, only believe.` | Iesus autem verbo quod dicebatur audito ait archisynagogo noli timere tantummodo crede | ||||

The child is not dead, but is asleep." | And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. | και εισελθων λεγει αυτοις τι θορυβεισθε και κλαιετε το παιδιον ουκ απεθανεν αλλα καθευδει | and having gone in he saith to them, `Why do ye make a tumult, and weep? the child did not die, but doth sleep; | et ingressus ait eis quid turbamini et ploratis puella non est mortua sed dormit | ||||

But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying. | And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. | και κατεγελων αυτου αυτοσ δε εκβαλων παντασ παραλαμβανει τον πατερα του παιδιου και την μητερα και τους μετ αυτου και εισπορευεται οπου ην το παιδιον | and they were laughing at him. And he, having put all forth, doth take the father of the child, and the mother, and those with him, and goeth in where the child is lying, | et inridebant eum ipse vero eiectis omnibus adsumit patrem et matrem puellae et qui secum erant et ingreditur ubi erat puella iacens | ||||
| 41. | Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha cumi!" which means, being interpreted, "Girl, I tell you, get up!" | And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. | και κρατησας της χειρος του παιδιου λεγει αυτη ταλιθα κουμ ο εστιν μεθερμηνευομενον το κορασιον σοι λεγω εγειρε | and, having taken the hand of the child, he saith to her, `Talitha cumi;` which is, being interpreted, `Damsel (I say to thee), arise.` | et tenens manum puellae ait illi talitha cumi quod est interpretatum puella tibi dico surge | ||||

They were amazed with great amazement. | And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years.
