1.  *     سورة النجم  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ والنجم اذا هوى     swr+ alnjm  bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? walnjm aXa hwi     By/and the star/planet if (it) fell/dropped.     By the Star when it goes down,-
 
2.  *     ماضل صاحبكم وماغوى     maDl SaHbkm wmaGwi     Your companion/friend did not become misguided/lost, and did not become misguided/failed.     Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled.
 
3.  *     وماينطق عن الهوى     wmaynTq `n alhwi     And (your friend) does not speak/clarify from the self attraction for desire.     Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.
 
4.  *     ان هو الا وحي يوحى     an hw ala wHy ywHi     That truly it is except inspiration/revelation (that) is being inspired/revealed.     It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
 
5.  *     علمه شديد القوى     `lmh $dyd alqwi     The powers'/strength's strong (severe) taught/instructed him.     He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
 
6.  *     ذو مرة فاستوى     Xw mr+ fastwi     (Owner) of strength/wisdom, so he/He straightened/leveled.     Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
 
7.  *     وهو بالافق الاعلى     whw balafq ala`li     And he/He (is) at/by the highest horizon/direction.     While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
 
8.  *     ثم دنا فتدلى     xm dna ftdli     Then he neared, so he lowered/dropped.     Then he approached and came closer,
 
9.  *     فكان قاب قوسين او ادنى     fkan qab qwsyn aw adni     So he was (a) short measure of length (of) two arm's/bow's (lengths) or nearer.     And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;
 
10.  *     فاوحى الى عبده مااوحى     fawHi ali `bdh maawHi     So he/He inspired/revealed to His worshipper/slave/servant what He inspired/revealed.     So did ((Allah)) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.
 
11.  *     ماكذب الفؤاد ماراى     makXb alfWad marai     The heart did not lie/falsify what he/it saw/understood.     The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
 
12.  *     افتمارونه على مايرى     aftmarwnh `li mayri     So do you argue/discuss with him on what he sees/understands?     Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
 
13.  *     ولقد راه نزلة اخرى     wlqd rah nzl+ aKri     And he had (E) seen/understood him another/other one descent.     For indeed he saw him at a second descent,
 
14.  *     عند سدرة المنتهى     `nd sdr+ almnthi     At the lote-tree (at) the ultimate/absolute end.     Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass:
 
15.  *     عندها جنة الماوى     `ndha jn+ almawi     At it (is) the shelter's/refuge's treed garden/paradise.     Near it is the Garden of Abode.
 
16.  *     اذ يغشى السدرة مايغشى     aX yG$i alsdr+ mayG$i     When what covers/darkens covers/darkens the lote-tree.     Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!)
 
17.  *     مازاغ البصر وماطغى     mazaG albSr wmaTGi     The eye sight/knowledge did not deviate/turn away, and (it) did not exceed the limit.     (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong!
 
18.  *     لقد راى من ايات ربه الكبرى     lqd rai mn ayat rbh alkbri     He had (E) seen/understood from his Lord's greatest/magnified evidences/signs.     For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!
 
19.  *     افرايتم اللات والعزى     afraytm allat wal`zi     Did you see/understand Allata/Hashtaroot (most famous idol goddess in pre-Islamic ignorance) and Elozza (idol statue)?     Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza,
 
20.  *     ومناة الثالثة الاخرى     wmna+ alxalx+ alaKri     And Manat, the third the other?     And another, the third (goddess), Manat?
 
21.  *     الكم الذكر وله الانثى     alkm alXkr wlh alanxi     Are for you the male and for Him the female?     What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female?
 
22.  *     تلك اذا قسمة ضيزى     tlk aXa qsm+ Dyzi     That (is) then unjust apportionment/division.     Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair!
 
23.  *     ان هي الا اسماء سميتموها انتم واباؤكم ماانزل الله بها من سلطان ان يتبعون الا الظن وماتهوى الانفس ولقد جاءهم من ربهم الهدى     an hy ala asma' smytmwha antm wabaWkm maanzl allh bha mn slTan an ytb`wn ala alZn wmathwi alanfs wlqd ja'hm mn rbhm alhdi     That truly it is except names, you named it, you and your fathers/forefathers, God did not descend with it from a proof/evidence, that truly they follow except the doubt/suspicion, and what the selves desire/attract, and the guidance had (E) come to them from their Lord.     These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!
 
24.  *     ام للانسان ماتمنى     am llansan matmni     Or (is it) to the human/mankind what he wished/desired?     Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?
 
25.  *     فلله الاخرة والاولى     fllh alaKr+ walawli     So to God (is) the end (other life) and the first/beginning.     But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong.
 
26.  *     وكم من ملك في السماوات لاتغني شفاعتهم شيئا الا من بعد ان ياذن الله لمن يشاء ويرضى     wkm mn mlk fy alsmawat latGny $fa`thm $yYa ala mn b`d an yaXn allh lmn y$a' wyrDi     And how many from (an) angel (is) in the skies/space, their mediation does not enrich/suffice a thing except from after that God permits/allows to whom He wills/wants/intends, and He accepts/approves.     How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.
 
27.  *     ان الذين لايؤمنون بالاخرة ليسمون الملائكة تسمية الانثى     an alXyn layWmnwn balaKr+ lysmwn almlaYk+ tsmy+ alanxi     That truly those who do not believe with (in) the end (other life) they name (E) the angels the female's naming.     Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.
 
28.  *     ومالهم به من علم ان يتبعون الا الظن وان الظن لايغني من الحق شيئا     wmalhm bh mn `lm an ytb`wn ala alZn wan alZn layGny mn alHq $yYa     And (there is) no knowledge for them with it, that truly they follow except the doubt/suspicion, and that truly the doubt/suspicion does not enrich/suffice from the truth a thing.     But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.
 
29.  *     فاعرض عن من تولى عن ذكرنا ولم يرد الا الحياة الدنيا     fa`rD `n mn twli `n Xkrna wlm yrd ala alHya+ aldnya     So turn away from who turned away from mentioning/remembering Us, and he did not want/intend except the life the present/worldly life.     Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.
 
30.  *     ذلك مبلغهم من العلم ان ربك هو اعلم بمن ضل عن سبيله وهو اعلم بمن اهتدى     Xlk mblGhm mn al`lm an rbk hw a`lm bmn Dl `n sbylh whw a`lm bmn ahtdi     That (is) their capacity/limit from the knowledge, that truly your Lord, He is more knowledgeable with who was misguided from His way/path, and He is more knowledgeable with who was guided.     That is as far as knowledge will reach them. Verily thy Lord knoweth best those who stray from His Path, and He knoweth best those who receive guidance.
 
31.  *     ولله مافي السماوات ومافي الارض ليجزي الذين اساوا بما عملوا ويجزي الذين احسنوا بالحسنى     wllh mafy alsmawat wmafy alarD lyjzy alXyn asawa bma `mlwa wyjzy alXyn aHsnwa balHsni     And to God what (is) in the skies/space and what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth, to reimburse those who did bad/evil because (of) what they made/did, and reimburse those who did good with the best/goodness.     Yea, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best.
 
32.  *     الذين يجتنبون كبائر الاثم والفواحش الا اللمم ان ربك واسع المغفرة هو اعلم بكم اذ انشاكم من الارض واذ انتم اجنة في بطون امهاتكم فلا تزكوا انفسكم هو اعلم بمن اتقى     alXyn yjtnbwn kbaYr alaxm walfwaH$ ala allmm an rbk was` almGfr+ hw a`lm bkm aX an$akm mn alarD waX antm ajn+ fy bTwn amhatkm fla tzkwa anfskm hw a`lm bmn atqi     Those who avoid/distance themselves (from) the sin's/crime's greatest/biggest and the enormous/atrocious deeds, except the minor sins, that truly your Lord (is) rich/spread (in) the forgiveness, He is more knowledgeable with (of) you, when He created/originated you from the earth/Planet Earth and when you are embryos/fetuses/hidden in your mother's bellies/insides, so do not commend/claim righteousness (for) yourselves, He is more knowledgeable with who feared and obeyed.     Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.
 
33.  *     افرءيت الذي تولى     afr'yt alXy twli     So did you see/understand who turned away?     Seest thou one who turns back,
 
34.  *     واعطى قليلا واكدى     wa`Ti qlyla wakdi     And gave little and skimped/stinged?     Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)?
 
35.  *     اعنده علم الغيب فهو يرى     a`ndh `lm alGyb fhw yri     Is it at him the unseen's/absents knowledge so he sees/understands ?     What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see?
 
36.  *     ام لم ينبا بما في صحف موسى     am lm ynba bma fy SHf mwsi     Or he did not get informed with what (is) in Moses' sheets/pages (scriptures) ?     Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses-
 
37.  *     وابراهيم الذي وفى     wabrahym alXy wfi     And Abraham who fulfilled/completed.     And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?-
 
38.  *     الا تزر وازرة وزر اخرى     ala tzr wazr+ wzr aKri     That no sinner/burdener bears/carries another's sin/burden.     Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;
 
39.  *     وان ليس للانسان الا ماسعى     wan lys llansan ala mas`i     And that (E) (there is) not to the human except what he strived/endeavored.     That man can have nothing but what he strives for;
 
40.  *     وان سعيه سوف يرى     wan s`yh swf yri     And that (E) his striving/endeavor will be seen.     That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight:
 
41.  *     ثم يجزاه الجزاء الاوفى     xm yjzah aljza' alawfi     Then he (will) be reimbursed the reimbursement, the most fulfilling/completing.     Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete;
 
42.  *     وان الى ربك المنتهى     wan ali rbk almnthi     And that truly to your Lord (is) the ultimate/absolute end.     That to thy Lord is the final Goal;
 
43.  *     وانه هو اضحك وابكى     wanh hw aDHk wabki     And that He made laugh,and He made to weep.     That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;
 
44.  *     وانه هو امات واحيا     wanh hw amat waHya     And that He made to die, and He revived/gave life.     That it is He Who granteth Death and Life;
 
45.  *     وانه خلق الزوجين الذكر والانثى     wanh Klq alzwjyn alXkr walanxi     And that He created the pairs/couples, the male and the female.     That He did create in pairs,- male and female,
 
46.  *     من نطفة اذا تمنى     mn nTf+ aXa tmni     From a drop/males or female's secretion, if/when (it be) ejaculated/discharged semen/sperm.     From a seed when lodged (in its place);
 
47.  *     وان عليه النشاة الاخرى     wan `lyh aln$a+ alaKri     And that on Him (is) the creation, the other.     That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);
 
48.  *     وانه هو اغنى واقنى     wanh hw aGni waqni     And that He, He enriched/sufficed, and He made content/satisfied.     That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;
 
49.  *     وانه هو رب الشعرى     wanh hw rb al$`ri     And that He is the star's (dog star's) Lord.     That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star);
 
50.  *     وانه اهلك عادا الاولى     wanh ahlk `ada alawli     And that He destroyed Aad the first/beginning.     And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),
 
51.  *     وثمود فما ابقى     wxmwd fma abqi     And Thamud, so none (were) left/protected.     And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life.
 
52.  *     وقوم نوح من قبل انهم كانوا هم اظلم واطغى     wqwm nwH mn qbl anhm kanwa hm aZlm waTGi     And Noah's nation from before, that they truly were, they (were) more unjust/oppressive, and more tyrant/arrogant.     And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,
 
53.  *     والمؤتفكة اهوى     walmWtfk+ ahwi     And the overturned/destroyed (city was) more dropping/tumbling down.     And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).
 
54.  *     فغشاها ماغشي     fG$aha maG$y     So covered/came upon it what covers.     So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.
 
55.  *     فباي الاء ربك تتمارى     fbay ala' rbk ttmari     So with which (of) your Lord's blessings (do) you argue/discuss?392     Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?
 
56.  *     هذا نذير من النذر الاولى     hXa nXyr mn alnXr alawli     That (is) a warning/notice from the warnings/notices, the first/beginning.     This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!
 
57.  *     ازفت الازفة     azft alazf+     The Resurrection approached/neared.     The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:
 
58.  *     ليس لها من دون الله كاشفة     lys lha mn dwn allh ka$f+     (There is) not a remover/uncoverer (reliever) for it from other than God.     No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.
 
59.  *     افمن هذاالحديث تعجبون     afmn hXaalHdyx t`jbwn     Is it from this the information/speech you wonder/surprise ?     Do ye then wonder at this recital?
 
60.  *     وتضحكون ولاتبكون     wtDHkwn wlatbkwn     And you laugh/wonder, and you do not weep ?     And will ye laugh and not weep,-
 
61.  *     وانتم سامدون     wantm samdwn     And you are astonished singing/arrogant ?     Wasting your time in vanities?
 
62.  *     فاسجدوا لله واعبدوا     fasjdwa llh wa`bdwa     So prostrate to God and worship.393     But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!
