1.  *     A.L.R. These are the ayats of the Book of Wisdom.     Alif. Lam. Ra.  THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom.     A L R, those are the wise/judicious Book's verses/evidences.     swr+ ywns  bsm allh alrHmn alrHym  alr tlk ayat alktab alHkym
 
2.  *     Is it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves?- that he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of truth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer!"     Do people deem it strange that We should have inspired a man from their own midst [with this Our  message]:' "Warn all mankind, and give unto those who have attained to faith the glad tiding that in their  Sustainer's sight they surpass all others in that they are completely sincere-?4  [Only] they who deny the truth say, "Behold. he is clearly but a spellbinder!"     Was it to the people astonishment/surprise that We inspired/transmitted to a man from them: "That warn/give notice (to) the people and announce good news (to) those who believed that for them (is) a foot (hold) (of) truth at their Lord." The disbelievers said: "That, that (is) an evident magician/sorcerer."     akan llnas `jba an awHyna ali rjl mnhm an anXr alnas wb$ralXyn amnwa an lhm qdm Sdq `nd rbhm qal alkafrwn an hXa lsaHr mbyn
 
3.  *     Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not receive admonition?     VERILY, your Sustainer is God, who has created the heavens and the earth in six aeons, and is established on the throne of His almightiness,b governing all that exists. There is none that could intercede with Him unless He grants leave therefor.'  Thus is God, your Sustainer: worship, therefore, Him [alone]: will you not, then, keep this in mind?     That your Lord (is) God who created the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth in six days then He aimed to/tended to on the throne, He plans/regulates the matter/affair, (there is) no/none from a mediator except from after His permission/pardon, that one (is) God, your Lord, so worship Him, so do you not mention/remember/praise ?     an rbkm allh alXy Klq alsmawat walarD fy st+ ayam xm astwi `li al`r$ ydbr alamr mamn $fy` ala mn b`d aXnh Xlkm allh rbkm fa`bdwh afla tXkrwn
 
4.  *     To Him will be your return- of all of you. The promise of Allah is true and sure. It is He Who beginneth the process of creation, and repeateth it, that He may reward with justice those who believe and work righteousness; but those who reject Him will have draughts of boiling fluids, and a penalty grievous, because they did reject Him.     Unto Him you all must return: this is, in truth, God's promise-for, behold, He creates [man] in the first instance, and then brings him forth anew$ to the end that He may reward with equity all who attain to faith and do righteous deeds; whereas for those who are bent on denying the truth there is in store a draught of burning despair and grievous suffering because of their persistent refusal to acknowledge the truth.'     To Him (is) your return all/all together, God's promise truthfully, that He truly starts/initiates the creation, then He returns/repeats it to reward/reimburse those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds with the just/equitable, and those who disbelieved for them (is) a drink from hot/cold water and a painful torture because (of) what they were disbelieving.     alyh mrj`km jmy`a w`d allh Hqa anh ybdW alKlq xm y`ydh lyjzy alXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat balqsT walXyn kfrwa lhm $rab mn Hmym w`Xab alym bma kanwa ykfrwn
 
5.  *     It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand.     He it is who has made the sun a [source of] radiant light and the moon a light [reflected],'° and has  determined for it phases so that you might know how to compute the years and to measure [time]. None of this has God created without [an inner] truth.'  Clearly does He spell out these messages unto people of [innate] knowledge:     He is who made/put the sun light/shining and the moon a light, and He predestined/evaluated it places of descent/sequences/descents to know (the) number/numerous (of) the years and the counting/calculating, God did not create that except with the truth, He details/explains the verses/evidences to a nation knowing.     hw alXyn j`l al$ms Dya' walqmr nwra wqdrh mnazl lt`lmwa `dd alsnyn walHsab maKlq allh Xlk ala balHq yfSl alayat lqwm y`lmwn
 
6.  *     Verily, in the alternation of the night and the day, and in all that Allah hath created, in the heavens and the earth, are signs for those who fear Him.     for, verily, in the alternating of night and day, and in all that God has created in the heavens and on earth there are messages indeed for people who are conscious of Him!     That in difference (of) the night and the daytime and what God created in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth (are) signs/evidences (E) to a nation fearing and obeying.     an fy aKtlaf allyl walnhar wmaKlq allh fy alsmawat walarD layat lqwm ytqwn
 
7.  *     Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs,-     Verily, as for those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us,'Z but content themselves with the life of this world and do not look beyond it," and are heedless of Our messages -     That those who do not hope/expect meeting Us, and they accepted/approved with the life the present/the worldly life, and they became assured/secured with it, and those who they are from Our verses/evidences ignoring/disregarding.     an alXyn layrjwn lqa'na wrDwa balHya+ aldnya waTmanwa bha walXyn hm `n ayatna Gaflwn
 
8.  *     Their abode is the Fire, because of the (evil) they earned.     their goal is the fire in return for all [the evil] that they were wont to do.     Those, their shelter/refuge (is) the fire because (of) what they were acquiring/gathering.     awlYk mawahm alnar bma kanwa yksbwn
 
9.  *     Those who believe, and work righteousness,- their Lord will guide them because of their faith: beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss.     [But,] verily, as for those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds - their Sustainer guides them aright by means of their faith. [In the life to come,] running waters will flow at their feet in gardens of bliss;     That those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, their Lord guides them because of their faith/belief (to) the rivers flowing/running from below/beneath them in the blessing/goodness (of) treed gardens/paradises.     an alXyn amnwa w`mlwa alSalHat yhdyhm rbhm baymanhm tjry mn tHthm alanhar fy jnat aln`ym
 
10.  *     (This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee, O Allah." And "Peace" will be their greeting therein! and the close of their cry will be: "Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!"     [and] in that [state of happiness] they will call out," "Limitless art Thou in Thy glory, O God!"-and will be answered with the greeting, "Peace !"16 And their call will close with [the words], "All praise is due to God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!"     Their call/prayer in it (is): "Oh/you God Your praise/glory." And their greeting in it (is): "Security/peace." and their last call/prayer (is): "That the praise/gratitude (is) to God the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.     d`wahm fyha sbHank allhm wtHythm fyha slam waKr d`wahm an alHmd llh rb al`almyn
 
11.  *     If Allah were to hasten for men the ill (they have earned) as they would fain hasten on the good,- then would their respite be settled at once. But We leave those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering in distraction to and fro.     NOW IF GOD were to hasten for human beings the ill [which they deserve by their sinning] in the same manner as they [themselves] would hasten [the coming to them of what they consider to be] goad, their end would indeed come forthwith!" But We  (Lane V, 1809, on the authority of Tdj al= Arus ): in other words, light due to an extraneous source or - as in the case of the moon - reflected light.  YUNUS  SORAH  leave them alone [for a while] -all those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us:` [We leave them alone] in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro.     And if God hurries/hastens the bad/evil/harm to the people (as) their hurrying/hastening with the good/wealth, their term/time would have been executed/accomplished to them, so We leave those who do not expect meeting Us in their tyranny/arrogance being confused/puzzled.     wlw y`jl allh llnas al$r ast`jalhm balKyr lqDy alyhm ajlhm fnXr alXyn layrjwn lqa'na fy TGyanhm y`mhwn
 
12.  *     When trouble toucheth a man, He crieth unto Us (in all postures)- lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have solved his trouble, he passeth on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! thus do the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes!     For [thus it is:] when affliction befalls man, he cries out unto Us, whether he be lying on his side or sitting or standing;'9 but as soon as We have freed him of his affliction, he goes on as though he had never invoked Us to save him from the affliction that befell him! Thus do their own doings seem goodly.unto those who waste their own selves.     And if the human (was) touched (by) the harm he called Us to his side or sitting or standing, so when We removed/uncovered from him his harm, he passed as if/though he did not call Us to harm (that) touched him,as/like that (it) was decorated/beautified to the spoilers/neglecters what they were making/doing.     waXa ms alansan alDr d`ana ljnbh aw qa`da aw qaYma flma k$fna `nh Drh mr kan lm yd`na ali Dr msh kXlk zyn llmsrfyn ma kanwa y`mlwn
 
13.  *     Generations before you We destroyed when they did wrong: their apostles came to them with clear-signs, but they would not believe! thus do We requite those who sin!     And, indeed, We destroyed before your time [whole] generations when they [persistently] did evil although the apostles sent unto them brought them all evidence of the truth; for they refused to believe [them]. Thus do We requite people who are lost in  sin.-`     And We had destroyed the generations/peoples of eras from before you, when they caused injustice/oppression, and their messengers came to them with the evidences, and they were not to believe, as/like that We reward/reimburse the nation the criminals/sinners.     wlqd ahlkna alqrwn mn qblkm lma Zlmwa wja'thm rslhm balbynat wmakanwalyWmnwa kXlk njzy alqwm almjrmyn
 
14.  *     Then We made you heirs in the land after them, to see how ye would behave!     And thereupon We made you their successors on earth, so that We might behold how you act.     Then We made/put you (as) caliphs/successors and replacers/leaders in the earth/Planet Earth from after them to see how you do.     xm j`lnakm KlaYf fy alarD mn b`dhm lnnZr kyf t`mlwn
 
15.  *     But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)."     AND [thus it is:] whenever Our messages are conveyed unto them in all their clarity, those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us [are wont to] say, "Bring us a discourse other than this, or alter this one.  willed upon Himself the law of grace and mercy" (see 6:12 and the corresponding note) and, consequently, does not punish sinners without taking their circumstances into consideration and giving them time to repent and to mend their ways.  Say [O Prophet]: "It is not conceivable that I should alter it of my own volition; I only follow what is revealed to me. Behold, I would dread, were I [thus] to rebel against my Sustainer, the suffering [which would befall me] on that ,awesome Day [of Judgment]!"     And if Our signs/verses evidences are read/recited on them, those who do not hope/expect meeting Us said: "Come/bring with a Koran other than that or exchange/replace it." Say: "(It) is not to me that I exchange/replace it from my self/spontaneously/willingly that I follow except what is inspired/revealed to me, that I fear if I disobeyed my Lord (from) a great day's torture."     waXa ttli `lyhm ayatna bynat qal alXyn layrjwn lqa'na aYt bqran Gyr hXa aw bdlh ql maykwn ly an abdlh mn tlqa' nfsy an atb` ala maywHi aly any aKaf an `Syt rby `Xab ywm `Zym
 
16.  *     Say: "If Allah had so willed, I should not have rehearsed it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. A whole life-time before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand?"     Say: "Had God willed it [otherwise], I would not have conveyed this [divine writ] unto you, nor would He have brought it to your knowledge. Indeed. a whole lifetime have I dwelt among you ere this [revelation came unto me]: will you not, then, use your reason?     Say: " If God wanted/willed I would not (have) read/recited it on you, and He would not (have) informed you with (of) it, so I had stayed/remained in (between) you a life time from before it, so do you not reason/understand ?     ql lw $a' allh matlwth `lykm wlaadrakm bh fqd lbxt fykm `mra mn qblh afla t`qlwn
 
17.  *     Who doth more wrong than such as forge a lie against Allah, or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those who sin.     And who could be more wicked than they who attribute their own lying inventions to God or give the lie to His messages? Verily, those who are lost in sin will never attain to a happy state     So who (is) more unjust/oppressive than who fabricated on God lies/denials/falsifications or lied/falsified with His verses/evidences ? That He does not make the criminals/sinners succeed/win     fmn aZlm mmn aftri `li allh kXba aw kXb bayath anh layflH almjrmwn
 
18.  *     They serve, besides Allah, things that hurt them not nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do ye indeed inform Allah of something He knows not, in the heavens or on earth?- Glory to Him! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!"     and [neither will] they [who] worship, side by side with God, things or beings that can neither harm nor benefit them, saying [to themselves], "These are our intercessors with God!  Say: "Do you [think that you could] inform God of anything in the heavens or on earth that He does not know ?27 Limitless is He in His glory, and sublimely exalted above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity!"     And they worship from other than God what does not harm them and nor benefit them, and they say: "Those (are) our mediators at God." Say: "Do you inform God with what He does not know in the skies/space and nor in the earth/Planet Earth?" His praise/glory and high, mighty, exalted and dignified from what they share/make partners (with God).     wy`bdwn mn dwn allh mala yDrhm wlaynf`hm wyqwlwn hWla' $f`aWna `nd allh ql atnbYwn allh bma lay`lm fy alsmawat wlafy alarD sbHanh wt`ali `ma y$rkwn
 
19.  *     Mankind was but one nation, but differed (later). Had it not been for a word that went forth before from thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them.     AND [know that] all mankind were once but one single community, and only later did they begin to hold divergent views.$ And had it not been for a decree- that had already gone forth from thy Sustainer, all their differences would indeed have been settled [from the outset].     And the people were not except one nation, so they differed/disagreed/disputed, and where it not for a word preceded from your Lord, (it) would have executed/ended (E) between them, in what they are in it differing/disagreeing.     wmakan alnas ala am+ waHd+ faKtlfwa wlwla klm+ sbqt mn rbk lqDy bynhm fyma fyh yKtlfwn
 
20.  *     They say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The Unseen is only for Allah (to know), then wait ye: I too will wait with you."     NOW THEY [who deny the truth] are wont to ask, "Why has no miraculous sign ever been bestowed upon him from on high by his Sustainer?"°  Say, then: "God's alone is the knowledge of that which. is beyond the reach of human perception." Wait, then, [until His will becomes manifest:] verily, I shall wait with you!"     And they say: "If only an evidence/sign was descended on him from his Lord." So say: "But the absent/supernatural (is) to God so wait, that I am with you from the waiting.     wyqwlwn lwlaanzl `lyh ay+ mn rbh fql anma alGyb llh fantZrwa any m`km mn almntZryn
 
21.  *     When We make mankind taste of some mercy after adversity hath touched them, behold! they take to plotting against Our Signs! Say: "Swifter to plan is Allah." Verily, Our messengers record all the plots that ye make!     And [thus it is:] whenever We let [such] people taste [some of Our] grace after hardship has visited them-lo! they forthwith turn to devising false arguments against Our messages."  Say: "God is swifter [than you] in His deep devising!"  Behold, Our [heavenly] messengers are recording all that you may devise!     And if We made the people taste/experience mercy from after calamity/disastrous distress touched them, then for them (is) cheatery/deceit/schemes in Our verses/evidences. Say: "God (is) quicker/faster (in) cunning/scheming, that Our messengers write what you cheat/ deceive/scheme."     waXa aXqna alnas rHm+ mn b`d Dra' msthm aXa lhm mkr fy ayatna ql allh asr` mkra an rslna yktbwn matmkrwn
 
22.  *     He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!"     He it is who enables you to travel on land and sea. And [behold what happens] when you go to sea in ships:'° [they go to sea in ships,] and they sail on in them in a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereatuntil there comes upon them a tempest, and waves surge towards them from all sides, so that they believe themselves to be encompassed [by death; and then] they call unto God, [at that moment] sincere in their faith in Him alone, "If Thou wilt but save us from this, we shall most certainly be among the grateful!"     He is who makes you walk/move/ride in the shore/land and the sea (large body of water) until when you were in the ships, and We flowed/ran with them with a good/enjoyable wind/breeze, and they became happy/rejoiced with it, (then) a stormy/violent wind came to it, and the waves/surges came to them from every place, and they thought/assumed that they are (being) surrounded/encircled with them, they called God faithful/loyal/devoted for Him (in) the religion: "If (E) you saved/rescued us from this, we will become (E) from the thankful/grateful."     hw alXy ysyrkm fy albr walbHr Hti aXa kntm fy alflk wjryn bhm bryH Tyb+ wfrHwa bha ja'tha ryH `aSf wja'hm almwj mn kl mkan wZnwa anhm aHyT bhm d`wa allh mKlSyn lh aldyn lYn anjytna mn hXh lnkwnn mn al$akryn
 
23.  *     But when he delivereth them, behold! they transgress insolently through the earth in defiance of right! O mankind! your insolence is against your own souls,- an enjoyment of the life of the present: in the end, to Us is your return, and We shall show you the truth of all that ye did.     Yet as soon as He has saved them from this [danger], lo! they behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right !35  O men! All your outrageous deeds are bound to fall back upon your own selves! [You care only for] the enjoyment of life in this world: [but remember that] in the end unto Us you must return, whereupon We shall make you truly understand all that you were doing [in life].     So when He saved/rescued them, then they oppress/transgress/corrupt in the earth/Planet Earth without the right, you, you the people but your oppression/transgression (is) on yourselves the life the present's/worldly life's long life/enjoyment, then to Us (is) your return, so We inform you with what you were making/doing.137     flma anjahm aXahm ybGwn fy alarD bGyr alHq yaayha alnas anma bGykm `li anfskm mta` alHya+ aldnya xm alyna mrj`km fnnbYkm bma kntm t`mlwn
 
24.  *     The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect.     The parable of the life of this world is but that of rain which We send down from the sky, and which is absorbed by the plants of the earth 31 whereof men and animals draw nourishment, until -when the earth has assumed its artful adornment and has been em  bellished, and they who dwell on it believe that they have gained mastery over it"-there comes down upon it Our judgment, by night or by day, and We cause it to become [like] a field mown down, as if there had been no yesterday.'9  Thus clearly do We spell out these messages unto people who think!     But the life the present's/worldly life's example (is) as/like water, We descended it from the sky, so the Earth's/land's plant mixed/mingled with it, from what the people eat and the camels/livestock, until the earth/land took its decoration/beauty and it became decorated/beautified, and its people thought/assumed that they are capable/overpowering on it, (then) Our order/matter came to/destroyed it at night or (at) daytime, so We made it uprooted as though it did not enrich/be inhabited by the yesterday/previous day, as/like that We detail/explain/clarify the verses/evidences to a nation thinking.     anma mxl alHya+ aldnya kma' anzlnah mn alsma' faKtlT bh nbat alarD mma yakl alnas walan`am Hti aXa aKXt alarD zKrfha wazynt wZn ahlha anhm qadrwn `lyha ataha amrna lyla aw nhara fj`lnaha HSyda kan lm tGn balams kXlk nfSl alayat lqwm ytfkrwn
 
25.  *     But Allah doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight.     AND [know that] God invites [man] unto the abode of peace, and guides him that wills [to be guided] onto a straight way.'     And God, He calls to the safety's/security's/peace's home/house, and He guides whom He wills/wants to a straight/direct way/road.     wallh yd`w ali dar alslam wyhdy mn y$a' ali SraT mstqym
 
26.  *     To those who do right is a goodly (reward)- Yea, more (than in measure)! No darkness nor shame shall cover their faces! they are companions of the garden; they will abide therein (for aye)!     Foc those who persevere in doing good there is the ultimate good in store, and more [than that]." No darkness and no ignominy will overshadow their faces [on Resurrection Day]: it is they who are destined for paradise, therein to abide.     To those who did good, the best/most beautiful/goodness and an increase (more), and no smoke/dust and nor humiliation/disgrace burdens/depresses/oppresses their faces, those are the treed garden's/paradise's owners/company they are in it immortally/eternally.     llXyn aHsnwa alHsni wzyad+ wlayrhq wjwhhm qtr wlaXl+ awlYk aSHab aljn+ hm fyha Kaldwn
 
27.  *     But those who have earned evil will have a reward of like evil: ignominy will cover their (faces): No defender will they have from (the wrath of) Allah. Their faces will be covered, as it were, with pieces from the depth of the darkness of night: they are companions of the Fire: they will abide therein (for aye)!     But us for those who have done evil deeds - the recompense of an evil, deed shall be the like thereof:'- and - since they will have none to defend them against God - ignominy will overshadow them as though their faces were veiled by the night's own darkness:" it is they who are destined for the fire. therein to abide.     And (to) those who gathered/acquired the sins/crimes (a) reimbursement (of) a sin/crime with similar/equal to it and humiliation/disgrace burdens/depresses/oppresses them, none from (a) protector/shelterer (is) for them from (other than) God, as though their faces (are) covered/darkened (with) parts/portions (of) the darkened night. Those are the fire's owners/company, they are in it immortally/eternally.     walXyn ksbwa alsyYat jza' syY+ bmxlha wtrhqhm Xl+ malhm mn allh mn `aSm kanma aG$yt wjwhhm qT`a mn allyl mZlma awlYk aSHab alnar hm fyha Kaldwn
 
28.  *     One day shall We gather them all together. Then shall We say to those who joined gods (with Us): "To your place! ye and those ye joined as 'partners' We shall separate them, and their "Partners" shall say: "It was not us that ye worshipped!     For, one Day We shall gather them all together, and then We shall say unto those who [in their lifetime] ascribed divinity to aught but God, "Stand where you are, you and those [beings and powers] to whom you were wont to ascribe a share in God's divinity!"-for by then We shall have [visibly] se  parated them from one another .4s And the beings to whom they had ascribed a share in God's divinity will say [to those who had worshipped them], "It was not us that you were wont to worship;'     And a day We gather them all/all together, then We say to those who shared/made partners (with God): "Your place/position, you and your partners (with God)." So We separated/dispersed between them, and their partners (with God) said: "You were not us worshipping."     wywm nH$rhm jmy`a xm nqwl llXyn a$rkwa mkankm antm w$rkaWkm fzylna bynhm wqal $rkaWhm makntm ayana t`bdwn
 
29.  *     "Enough is Allah for a witness between us and you: we certainly knew nothing of your worship of us!"     and none can bear witness between us and you as God does: we were, for certain, unaware of your worshipping  [us].47     So enough/sufficient with God (as) a witness/testifier between us and between you, if we were about your worshipping ignoring/neglecting (E).     fkfi ballh $hyda bynna wbynkm an kna `n `badtkm lGaflyn
 
30.  *     There will every soul prove (the fruits of) the deeds it sent before: they will be brought back to Allah their rightful Lord, and their invented falsehoods will leave them in the lurch.     There and then will every human being clearly apprehend what he has done in the past; and all will be brought back unto God," their true Lord Supreme, and all their false imagery will have forsaken them.     At that place and time every self will find it is foolish what it advanced, and they were returned to God their owner/master the true, and what they were fabricating misguided/nullified from them.     hnalk tblwa kl nfs maaslft wrdwa ali allh mwlahm alHq wDl `nhm ma kanwa yftrwn
 
31.  *     Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? or who is it that has power over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? and who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say, "(Allah)". Say, "will ye not then show piety (to Him)?"     SAY: "Who is it that provides you with sustenance 49  out of heaven and earth, or who is it that has full power over [your] hearing and sight? And who is it that brings forth the living out of that which is dead, and brings forth the dead out of that which is alive? And who is it that governs all that exists?"  And they will [surely] answer: "[It is] God."5°, Say, then: "Will you not, then, become [fully] conscious of Him-     Say: "Who provides for you from the sky/space and the earth/Planet Earth? Or who owns/possesses the hearing/listening, and the eye sights/knowledge, and He brings out/emerges the live/alive from the dead, and He brings out/emerges the dead from the live/alive, and who plans/regulates the matter/affair?" So they will say: "God." so say: "So do you not fear and obey?"     ql mn yrzqkm mn alsma' walarD amn ymlk alsm` walabSar wmn yKrj alHy mn almyt wyKrj almyt mn alHy wmn ydbr alamr fsyqwlwn allh fql afla ttqwn
 
32.  *     Such is Allah, your real Cherisher and Sustainer: apart from truth, what (remains) but error? How then are ye turned away?     seeing that He is God, your Sustainer, the Ultimate Truth?' For, after the truth  [has been forsaken], what is there [left] but error? How, then, can you lose sight of the truth?"     So that one (is) God, your Lord the truth, so what after the truth (is there) except the misguidance, so how/where (do) you be sent away/diverted?     fXlkm allh rbkm alHq fmaXa b`d alHq ala alDlal fani tSrfwn
 
33.  *     Thus is the word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: Verily they will not believe.     Thus is thy Sustainer's word proved true with regard to such as are bent on sinful doings: they will not believes'     As/like that your Lord's word/expression became correct/true, on those who debauched, that they do not believe.     kXlk Hqt klm+ rbk `li alXyn fsqwa anhm layWmnwn
 
34.  *     Say: "Of your 'partners', can any originate creation and repeat it?" Say: "It is Allah Who originates creation and repeats it: then how are ye deluded away (from the truth)?"     Say: "Can any of those beings to whom you ascribe a share in God's divinity create [life] in the first instance, and then bring it forth anew ?,,14  Say: "It is God [alone] who creates [all life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew. How perverted, then, are your minds!"     Say: "Are there from your partners (with God) who starts/initiates the creation then he repeats it?" Say: "God starts/initiates the creation, then He repeats it. So how/where (do) you lie/turn away?"     ql hl mn $rkaYkm mn ybdW alKlq xm y`ydh ql allh ybdWa alKlq xm y`ydh fani tWfkwn
 
35.  *     Say: "Of your 'partners' is there any that can give any guidance towards truth?" Say: "It is Allah Who gives guidance towards truth, is then He Who gives guidance to truth more worthy to be followed, or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? what then is the matter with you? How judge ye?"     Say: "Does any of those beings to whom you ascribe a share in God's divinity guide unto the truth?"  Say: "It is God [alone] who guides unto the truth. Which, then, is more worthy to be followed - He who guides unto the truth, or he who cannot find the right way unless he is guided?" What, then, is amiss with you and your judgment?"57     Say: "Are there from your partners (with God) who guides to the truth ?" Say: "God guides to the truth.Is who guides to the truth more worthy/deserving that He be followed or who does not guide except that he be guided, so what (is it) for you how you judge/rule?"138     ql hl mn $rkaYkm mn yhdy ali alHq ql allh yhdy llHq afmn yhdy ali alHq aHq an ytb` amn layhdy ala an yhdi fmalkm kyf tHkmwn
 
36.  *     But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.     For, most of them follow nothing but conjecture: [and,] behold, conjecture can never be a substitute for truth. Verily, God has full knowledge of all that they do.     And most of them do not follow except assumption/supposition, that the assumption/supposition does not suffice (replace) from the truth a thing, that God (is) knowledgeable with what they make/do.     wmaytb` akxrhm ala Zna an alZn layGny mn alHq $yYa an allh `lym bma yf`lwn
 
37.  *     This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah. on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the worlds.     Now this Qur'an could not possibly have been devised by anyone save God: nay indeed," it confirms the truth of whatever there still remains [of earlier revelations] and clearly spells out the revelation [which comes] -let there be no doubt about it-from the Sustainer of all the worlds 6°     And this the Koran was/is not that it be fabricated from (by) other than God, and but confirmation (of) what (is) between his (Prophet Mohammad's) hands, and detailing/explaining The Book, no doubt/suspicion in it, (it is) from the creations all together's/(universes') Lord.     wmakan hXa alqran an yftri mn dwn allh wlkn tSdyq alXy byn ydyh wtfSyl alktab laryb fyh mn rb al`almyn
 
38.  *     Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!"     And yet, they [who are bent on denying the truth] assert, "[Muhammad] has invented it!"  Say [unto them]: "Produce, then, a surah of similar merit; and [to this end] call to your aid whomever you can, other than God, if what you say is true !-62     Or they say: "He fabricated it." Say: "So come/bring with a chapter of the Koran similar/equal to it and call whom you were able from other than God, if you were truthful."     am yqwlwn aftrah ql fatwa bswr+ mxlh wad`wa mn astT`tm mn dwn allh an kntm Sadqyn
 
39.  *     Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong!     Nay, but they are bent on giving the lie to everything the wisdom whereof they do not comprehend, and ere its inner meaning has become clear to them 6' Even thus did those who lived before their time give the lie to the truth: and behold what happened in the end to those evildoers!     But they lied/denied/falsified with what they did not comprehend with its knowledge, and its interpretation/explanation did not come to them, as/like those from before them lied/denied/falsified, so look/see how the unjusts'/oppressives' end/turn was.     bl kXbwa bma lm yHyTwa b`lmh wlma yathm tawylh kXlk kXb alXyn mn qblhm fanZr kyf kan `aqb+ alZalmyn
 
40.  *     Of them there are some who believe therein, and some who do not: and thy Lord knoweth best those who are out for mischief.     And there are among them such as will in time come to believe in this [divine writ], just as there are among them such as will never believe in it;6` and thy Sustainer is fully aware as to who are the spreaders of corruption.     And from them who believed with it, and from them who does not believe with it, and your Lord (is) more knowledgeable with the corrupting.     wmnhm mn yWmn bh wmnhm mn layWmn bh wrbk a`lm balmfsdyn
 
41.  *     If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!"     And [so, O Prophet,] if they give thee the lie, say: "To me [shall be accounted] my doings, and to you, your doings: you are not accountable for what I am doing, and I am not accountable for whatever you do."     And if they lied/denied you, so say: "For me (is) my deed, and for you (is) your deed, you are innocent/renouncing from what I make/do, and I am innocent/renouncing from what you make/do."     wan kXbwk fql ly `mly wlkm `mlkm antm bryYwn mma a`ml wana brY mma t`mlwn
 
42.  *     Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding?     And there are among them such as (pretend to] listen to thee: but canst thou cause the deaf to hearken even though they will not use their reason?     And from them who listen/hear to you, so do you make the deaf hear/listen and (even) if they were not reasoning/understanding ?     wmnhm mn ystm`wn alyk afant tsm` alSm wlw kanwa lay`qlwn
 
43.  *     And among them are some who look at thee: but canst thou guide the blind,- even though they will not see?     And there are among them such as [pretend to] look towards thee: but canst thou show the right way to the blind even though they cannot see?     And from them who looks to you, so do you guide the blind/confused and (even) if they were not seeing/understanding ?     wmnhm mn ynZr alyk afant thdy al`my wlw kanwa laybSrwn
 
44.  *     Verily Allah will not deal unjustly with man in aught: It is man that wrongs his own soul.     Verily, God does not do the least wrong unto men, but it is men who wrong themselves.     That God, does not cause injustice/oppression (to) the people a thing and but the people themselves cause injustice/oppression.     an allh layZlm alnas $yYa wlkn alnas anfshm yZlmwn
 
45.  *     One day He will gather them together: (It will be) as if they had tarried but an hour of a day: they will recognise each other: assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with Allah and refused to receive true guidance.     And on the Day when He shall gather them [unto Himself, it will seem to them] as if they had not tarried [on earth] longer than an hour of a day, knowing one another;" [and] lost indeed will be they who [in their lifetime] considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and [thus] failed to find the right' way.     And a day He gathers them as though they did not remain/wait except an hour from the daytime, getting to know each other, those who lied/denied with meeting God had lost, and they were not guided.     wywm yH$rhm kan lm ylbxwa ala sa`+ mn alnhar yt`arfwn bynhm qd Ksr alXyn kXbwa blqa' allh wmakanwa mhtdyn
 
46.  *     Whether We show thee (realised in thy life-time) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (Before that),- in any case, to Us is their return: ultimately Allah is witness, to all that they do.     And whether We show thee [in this worldl something of what We hold in store for those [deniers of the truth],' or whether We cause thee to die [before that retribution takes place - know that, in the end], it is unto Us that they must return; and God is witness to all that they do.6'     And either We show you some/part (of) which/that We promise them, or We make you die, so to Us (is) their return, then God (is) witnessing on what they make/do.     wama nrynk b`D alXy n`dhm aw ntwfynk falyna mrj`hm xm allh $hyd `li mayf`lwn
 
47.  *     To every people (was sent) an apostle: when their apostle comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged.     NOW every community has had an apostle; and only after their apostle has appeared [and delivered his message] is judgment passed on them, in all equity;"  and never are they wronged.     And to each/every nation/generation (is) a messenger, so if their messenger came, judgment was passed between them with the just/equitable, and they are not being caused injustice to/oppressed.     wlkl am+ rswl faXa ja' rswlhm qDy bynhm balqsT whm layZlmwn
 
48.  *     They say: "When will this promise come to pass,- if ye speak the truth?"     And yet, they [who deny the truth] are wont to ask, "When is that promise [of resurrection and judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!"     And they say: "When/at what time (is) that the promise if you were truthful?"     wyqwlwn mti hXa alw`d an kntm Sadqyn
 
49.  *     Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)."     Say [O Prophet]: "It is not within my power to avert harm from, or bring benefit to, myself, except as God may please.69 For all people a term has been set: when the end of their term approaches, they can neither delay it by a single moment, nor hasten it."°     Say: "I do not own/possess to myself harm and nor benefit/usefulness except, what God willed/wanted, to every/each nation/generation (is) a term/time, if their term/time came, so they do not delay/lag behind an hour, and nor advance/precede."     ql laamlk lnfsy Dra wlanf`a ala ma$a' allh lkl am+ ajl aXa ja' ajlhm fla ystaKrwn sa`+ wlaystqdmwn
 
50.  *     Say: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten?     Say: "Have you ever considered [how you would feel] if His chastisement were to befall you by night or by day? What could there be in that prospect that people lost in sin should wish to hasten?"     Say: "Did you see/understand if His torture came to you at night/suddenly at night/overnight or day time, what (do) the criminals/sinners hurry/rush/urge from Him?"     ql araytm an atakm `Xabh byata aw nhara maXa yst`jl mnh almjrmwn
 
51.  *     "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!'     Will you, then, believe in it [only] after it has come to pass -[on the Day when you will be asked, `Do you believe in it] now ,7s after having [contemptuously] called for its speedy advent?'     Is it then when (it) happened! (expression of wonderment) you believed with it/Him now, and you had been with it/Him hurrying/hastening.     axm aXa mawq` amntm bh 'alan wqd kntm bh tst`jlwn
 
52.  *     "At length will be said to the wrong-doers: 'Taste ye the enduring punishment! ye get but the recompense of what ye earned!'"     -whereupon those who [in their lifetime] were bent on evildoing will be told, "Taste suffering abiding! Is this requital anything but the just due for what you were wont to do?"     Then (it) was said to those who caused injustice/oppression: "Taste/experience the immortality's/eternity's torture,139are you being reimbursed except because (of) what you were gathering/acquiring ?     xm qyl llXyn Zlmwa Xwqwa `Xab alKld hl tjzwn ala bmakntm tksbwn
 
53.  *     They seek to be informed by thee: "Is that true?" Say: "Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it!"     And some people 7" ask thee, "Is all this true?" Say: "Yea, by my Sustainer! It is most certainly true, and you cannot elude [the final reckoning]!"     And they ask you to inform them: "Is it correct ?" Say: "Yes and (by) my Lord, that it truly is correct (E), and you are not with disabling/frustrating."     wystnbYwnk aHq hw ql ay wrby anh lHq wmaantm bm`jzyn
 
54.  *     Every soul that hath sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom: They would declare (their) repentance when they see the penalty: but the judgment between them will be with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.     And all human beings that have been doing evil's would surely, if they possessed all that is on earth, offer it as ransom [on Judgment Day];'6 and when they see the suffering [that awaits them], they will be unable to express their remorse." But judgment will be passed on them in all equity; and they will not be wronged.     And if to every self (that) caused injustice/oppression what is in the earth/Planet Earth, it would have ransomed/compensated with it, and they kept the regret/sorrow/remorse secret when they saw/understood the torture, and was passed judgment/ordered between them with the just/equitable, and they are not being caused injustice to/oppressed.     wlw an lkl nfs Zlmt mafy alarD laftdt bh wasrwa alndam+ lma rawa al`Xab wqDy bynhm balqsT whm layZlmwn
 
55.  *     Is it not (the case) that to Allah belongeth whatever is in the heavens and on earth? Is it not (the case) that Allah.s promise is assuredly true? Yet most of them understand not.     Oh, verily, unto God belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth! Oh, verily, God's promise always comes true-but most of them know it not!     Is not to God what is in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, is not God's promise true, and but most of them do not know?     ala an llh mafy alsmawat walarD ala an w`d allh Hq wlkn akxrhm lay`lmwn
 
56.  *     It is He Who giveth life and who taketh it, and to Him shall ye all be brought back.     He alone grants life and deals death; and unto Him you all must return.     He revives/makes alive and He makes die, and to Him you are being returned.     hw yHyy wymyt walyh trj`wn
 
57.  *     O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,- and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy.     O MANKIND! There has now come unto you an admonition from your Sustainer, and a cure for all [the ill] that may be in men's hearts,79 and guidance and grace unto all who believe [in Him].     You, you the people, a sermon/advice/warning had come to you from your Lord, and a cure/recovery to what (is) in the chests (innermosts), and guidance, and mercy to the believers.     yaayha alnas qd ja'tkm mw`Z+ mn rbkm w$fa' lma fy alSdwr whdi wrHm+ llmWmnyn
 
58.  *     Say: "In the bounty of Allah. And in His Mercy,- in that let them rejoice": that is better than the (wealth) they hoard.     Say: "In [this] bounty of God and in His grace-in this, then, let them rejoice: it is better than all [the worldly wealth] that they may amass!"     Say: "With God's grace/favour and His mercy, so with that so they should be happy/rejoiced, He/it is better from what they gather/collect."     ql bfDl allh wbrHmth fbXlk flyfrHwa hw Kyr mma yjm`wn
 
59.  *     Say: "See ye what things Allah hath sent down to you for sustenance? Yet ye hold forbidden some things thereof and (some things) lawful." Say: "Hath Allah indeed permitted you, or do ye invent (things) to attribute to Allah."     Say: "Have you ever considered all the means of sustenance which God has bestowed upon you from on high' - and which you thereupon divide into 'things forbidden' and 'things lawful?'81  Say: "Has God given you leave [to do this] -or do you, perchance, attribute your own guesswork to God?"     Say: "Did you see/understand what God descended for you from provision so you made/created from it forbidden/prohibited and permitted/allowed?" Say: "Did God permit/allow for you, or on God you fabricate/cut and split?     ql araytm maanzl allh lkm mn rzq fj`ltm mnh Hrama wHlala ql allh aXn lkm am `li allh tftrwn
 
60.  *     And what think those who invent lies against Allah, of the Day of Judgment? Verily Allah is full of bounty to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful.     But what do they think - they who attribute their own lying inventions to God - [what do they think will happen to them]. on the Day of Resurrection?  Behold, God is indeed limitless in His bounty unto men - but most of them are ungrateful.     And what (is in the) thought/assumption (on) the Resurrection Day (of) those who fabricate on God the lie/falsehood ? That God (is owner) of (E) grace/favour/blessing on the people, and but most of them do not thank/be grateful.     wmaZn alXyn yftrwn `li allh alkXb ywm alqyam+ an allh lXw fDl `li alnas wlkn akxrhm lay$krwn
 
61.  *     In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur'an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We are witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record.     AND IN whatever condition thou mayest find thyself, [O Prophet,] and whatever discourse of this [divine writ]82 thou mayest be reciting, and whatever work you [all, O men,] may do - [remember that] We are your witness83 [from the moment] when you enter upon it: for, not even an atom's weight [of whatever there is] on earth or in heaven escapes thy Sustainer's knowledge; and neither is there anything smaller than that, or larger, but is recorded in Mis] clear decree.     And you (do) not be in a matter/affair, and what you read/recite from it from Koran, and you do not make/do from deed(s) except (that) We were on you witnessing when you rush/hurry in it, and none from a weight (of) a smallest particle (smaller than an atom) in the earth/Planet Earth and nor in the sky/ space, and nor smaller/littler than that, and nor greater/magnified is far, hidden and distant from your Lord, except (it is) in an evident/clear Book.     wmatkwn fy $an wmattlw mnh mn qran wlat`mlwn mn `ml ala kna `lykm $hwda aX tfyDwn fyh wmay`zb `n rbk mn mxqal Xr+ fy alarD wla fy alsma' wlaaSGr mn Xlk wlaakbr ala fy ktab mbyn
 
62.  *     Behold! verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve;     Oh, verily, they who are close to God" - no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve:     Is it not that God's patrons/followers (that there is) no fear/fright on them, and nor they be sad/grieving?     ala an awlya' allh laKwf `lyhm wlahm yHznwn
 
63.  *     Those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil;-     they who have attained to faith and have always been conscious of Him.     Those who believed and were fearing and obeying.     alXyn amnwa wkanwa ytqwn
 
64.  *     For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity.     For them there is the glad tiding [of happiness] in the life of this world and in the life to come; [and since] nothing could ever alter [the outcome of] God's promises, this, this is the triumph supreme!     For them the good news in the life the present/the worldly life and in the end (other life), (there is) no exchange/replacement/substitution to God's words/expressions, that it is the winning/triumph, the great.     lhm alb$ri fy alHya+ aldnya wfy alaKr+ latbdyl lklmat allh Xlk hw alfwz al`Zym
 
65.  *     Let not their speech grieve thee: for all power and honour belong to Allah. It is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).     And be not grieved by the sayings of those [who deny the truth]. Behold, all might and glory86 belong to God alone: He alone is all-hearing, allknowing.     And (let) not their saying/word/opinion and belief to sadden you, that the glory/might (is) to God all/wholly, He is the hearing/listening, the knowledgeable.     wlayHznk qwlhm an al`z+ llh jmy`a hw alsmy` al`lym
 
66.  *     Behold! verily to Allah belong all creatures, in the heavens and on earth. What do they follow who worship as His "partners" other than Allah. They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie.     OH, VERILY, unto God belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on earth: hence, what is it that they follow-those who invoke, beside God, beings to whom they ascribe a share in His divinity?" They follow but the conjectures [of others], and themselves do nothing but guess -     Is it not that to God who (is) in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth? And those who call from other than God partners, (they) do not follow (anything) except the assumption/supposition, and that they (are) except lying/speculating.     ala an llh mn fy alsmawat wmn fy alarD wmaytb` alXyn yd`wn mn dwn allh $rka' an ytb`wn ala alZn wan hm ala yKrSwn
 
67.  *     He it is That hath made you the night that ye may rest therein, and the day to make things visible (to you). Verily in this are signs for those who listen (to His Message).     [whereas] it is He who has made the night for you, so that you might have rest therein, and the day, to make [you] seer in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who [are willing to] listen.     He is who made/created for you the night to be tranquil/quiet in it, and the daytime to see, that in that (are) evidences/signs (E) to a nation hearing/listening.140     hw alXy j`l lkm allyl ltsknwa fyh walnhar mbSra an fy Xlk layat lqwm ysm`wn
 
68.  *     They say: "(Allah) hath begotten a son!" - Glory be to Him! He is self- sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! say ye about Allah what ye know not?     [And yet] they assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son!" Limitless is He in His glory! Selfsufficient is He: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth! No evidence whatever have you for this [assertion]! Would you ascribe unto God something which you cannot know?     They said: "God took/received a child (son)." His praise/glory He is the rich, for Him what is in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, at you (is) no proof/evidence with that, are you saying on God what you do not know?     qalwa atKX allh wlda sbHanh hw alGny lh mafy alsmawat wmafy alarD an `ndkm mn slTan bhXa atqwlwn `li allh malat`lmwn
 
69.  *     Say: "Those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper."     Say: "Verily, they who attribute their own lying inventions to God will never attain to a happy state!"     Say: "That those who fabricate/cut and split on God the lies/falsehood do not succeed/win."     ql an alXyn yftrwn `li allh alkXb layflHwn
 
70.  *     A little enjoyment in this world!- and then, to Us will be their return, then shall We make them taste the severest penalty for their blasphemies.     [A brief] enjoyment in this world-and thereafter unto Us they must return: and then We shall let them taste suffering severe as an outcome of their persistent denial of the truth.     Long life/enjoyment in the present world then to Us (is) their return, then We make them taste/experience the torture the strong (severe) because (of) what they were disbelieving.     mta` fy aldnya xm alyna mrj`hm xm nXyqhm al`Xab al$dyd bma kanwa ykfrwn
 
71.  *     Relate to them the story of Noah. Behold! he said to his people: "O my people, if it be hard on your (mind) that I should stay (with you) and commemorate the signs of Allah,- yet I put my trust in Allah. Get ye then an agreement about your plan and among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite.     AND CONVEY unto them the story of Noah-when he said unto his people: "O my people! If my presence [among you] and my announcement of God's messages are repugnant to you9°-well, in God have I placed my trust. Decide, then, upon what you are going to do [against me],9i and [call to your aid] those beings to whom you ascribe a share in God's  Y  1N  I.., AI Li  divinity;' and once you have chosen your course of action, let no hesitation deflect you from it;9' and then carry out against me [whatever you may have decided], and give me no respite!     And read/recite on them Noah's information/news, when he said to his nation: "You (my) nation, if my place/position and my reminding/mentioning with Gods' evidences/verses had become a burden on you, so on God I relied/depended, so gather/collect/unify your matter/affair and your partners (with God), then your matter/affair be not on you ambiguous/vague (covert), then pass judgment/order to me, and do not give me time/delay me."     watl `lyhm nba nwH aX qal lqwmh yaqwm an kan kbr `lykm mqamy wtXkyry bayat allh f`li allh twklt fajm`wa amrkm w$rka'km xm laykn amrkm `lykm Gm+ xm aqDwa aly wlatnZrwn
 
72.  *     "But if ye turn back, (consider): no reward have I asked of you: my reward is only due from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of those who submit to Allah.s will (in Islam)."     But if you turn away [from the message which I bear, remember that] I have asked no reward whatever of you: my reward rests with none but God, for I have been bidden to be among those who have surrendered themselves unto Him."     So if you turned away, so I did not ask/demand (of) you from a reward/wage that my reward/wage (is) except on God, and I was ordered/commanded, that I be from the Moslems/submitters.     fan twlytm fma saltkm mn ajr an ajry ala `li allh wamrt an akwn mn almslmyn
 
73.  *     They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!     And yet they gave him the lie! And so We saved him and all who stood by him, in the ark, and made them inherit [the earth],94 the while We caused those who gave the lie to Our messages to drown:9s behold, then, what happened in the end to those people who had been warned [in vain]!     So they denied him, so We saved/rescued him and who (was) with him in the ship, and We made/put them (as) caliphs/successors and replacers/leaders, and We drowned/sunk those who lied/denied/falsified with Our evidences/verses, so look/see how was the end/turn (result of) the warned/given notice.     fkXbwh fnjynah wmn m`h fy alflk wj`lnahm KlaYf waGrqna alXyn kXbwa bayatna fanZr kyf kan `aqb+ almnXryn
 
74.  *     Then after him We sent (many) apostles to their peoples: they brought them Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors.     AND THEN, after him, We sent forth [other] apostles-each one unto his own people96 -and they brought them all evidence of the truth; but they would not believe in anything to which they had once given the lie:9' thus it is that We seal the hearts of such as [are wont to] transgress the bounds of what is right.9'     Then We sent from after him messengers to their nations, so they came to them with the evidences/verses, so they were not to believe with what they lied/denied/falsified with it from before, as/like that We stamp/cover/seal on the transgressors'/violators'/breakers' hearts/minds.     xm b`xna mn b`dh rsla ali qwmhm fjaWwhm balbynat fma kanwa lyWmnwa bma kXbwa bh mn qbl kXlk nTb` `li qlwb alm`tdyn
 
75.  *     Then after them sent We Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our Signs. But they were arrogant: they were a people in sin.     And after those [earlier prophets] We sent Moses and Aaron with Our messages unto Pharaoh and his great ones: but they gloried in their arrogance, for they were people lost in sin.     Then (E) We sent from after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his nobles/groups/assembly with Our verses/evidences, so they became arrogant and they were a nation (of) criminals/sinners.     xm b`xna mn b`dhm mwsi wharwn ali fr`wn wmlYh bayatna fastkbrwa wkanwa qwma mjrmyn
 
76.  *     When the Truth did come to them from Us, they said: "This is indeed evident sorcery!"     And so, when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Behold, this is clearly nothing but sorcery!"99     So when the truth came to them from at Us, they said: "That truly (is) evident magic/sorcery (E)."     flma ja'hm alHq mn `ndna qalwa an hXa lsHr mbyn
 
77.  *     Said Moses: "Say ye (this) about the truth when it hath (actually) reached you? Is sorcery (like) this? But sorcerers will not prosper."     Said Moses: "Do you speak thus of the truth after it has been brought to you? Can this be sorcery? But sorcerers can never come to a happy end!"     Moses Said: "Do you say to the truth when it came to you, is that magic/sorcery?" and the magicians/sorcerers do not succeed/win.     qal mwsi atqwlwn llHq lma ja'km asHr hXa wlayflH alsaHrwn
 
78.  *     They said: "Hast thou come to us to turn us away from the ways we found our fathers following,- in order that thou and thy brother may have greatness in the land? But not we shall believe in you!"     [The great ones] replied: "Hast thou come to turn us away from what we found our forefathers believing in and doing, so that the two of you might become supreme in this land? However, we do not believe in you two!"°'     They said: "Did you come to us to turn us away (divert us) from what we found our fathers on it, and the arrogance/greatness be to you (B) in the earth/Planet Earth, and we are not to you (B) with believing."     qalwa ajYtna ltlftna `ma wjdna `lyh aba'na wtkwn lkma alkbrya' fy alarD wmanHn lkma bmWmnyn
 
79.  *     Said Pharaoh: "Bring me every sorcerer well versed."     And Pharaoh commanded: "Bring before me every sorcerer of great knowledge!"     And Pharaoh said: "Bring to me with every knowledgeable magician/sorcerer."     wqal fr`wn aYtwny bkl saHr `lym
 
80.  *     When the sorcerers came, Moses said to them: "Throw ye what ye (wish) to throw!"     And when the sorcerers came, Moses said unto them: "Throw whatever you may [wish to] throw!"     So when the magicians/sorcerers came, Moses Said: "Throw/throw away what you are throwing/throwing away."     flma ja' alsHr+ qal lhm mwsi alqwa maantm mlqwn
 
81.  *     When they had had their throw, Moses said: "What ye have brought is sorcery: Allah will surely make it of no effect: for Allah prospereth not the work of those who make mischief.     And when they threw down [their staffs and cast a spell upon the people's eyes'°], Moses said unto them: "What you have contrived is [but] sorcery which, verily, God will bring to nought! Verily, God does not further the works of spreaders of corruption -     So when they threw/threw away Moses said: "What the magic/sorcery you came with it, that truly God will waste/annul/cancel it, that truly God does not correct/repair (the) deeds (of) the corrupting."     flma alqwa qal mwsi majYtm bh alsHr an allh sybTlh an allh laySlH `ml almfsdyn
 
82.  *     "And Allah by His words doth prove and establish His truth, however much the sinners may hate it!"     whereas by His words God proves the truth to be true,'°3 however hateful this may be to those who are lost in sin!"     And God corrects the truth with His words/expressions, and even if the criminals/sinners hated (it).     wyHq allh alHq bklmath wlw krh almjrmwn
 
83.  *     But none believed in Moses except some children of his people, because of the fear of Pharaoh and his chiefs, lest they should persecute them; and certainly Pharaoh was mighty on the earth and one who transgressed all bounds.     But none save a few of his people declared their faith in Moses,'(' [while others held back] for fear of Pharaoh and their great ones, lest they persecute them: for, verily, Pharaoh was mighty on earth and was, verily, of those who are given to excesses.     So did not believe in Moses except descendants from his nation on fear from Pharaoh and their nobles/groups/assembly that he (Pharaoh) tortures them, and that Pharaoh (is) high and mighty (E) in the earth/planet Earth, and that he (is) from (E) the spoilers/exceeders of the limit.     fma amn lmwsi ala Xry+ mn qwmh `li Kwf mn fr`wn wmlYhm an yftnhm wan fr`wn l`al fy alarD wanh lmn almsrfyn
 
84.  *     Moses said: "O my people! If ye do (really) believe in Allah, then in Him put your trust if ye submit (your will to His)."     And Moses said: "O my people! If you believe in God, place your trust in Him -if you have [truly] surrendered yourselves unto Him!"     And Moses said: "You (my) nation if you had believed by God, so on Him rely/depend if you were Moslems/submitters."141     wqal mwsi yaqwm an kntm amntm ballh f`lyh twklwa an kntm mslmyn
 
85.  *     They said: "In Allah do we put out trust. Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practise oppression;     Whereupon they answered: "In God have we placed our trust! O our Sustainer, make us not a  sorcerers and the tatters' subsequent conversion is told in greater detail in Al-A'raf and Td Ha, both of which were revealed before the present surah.  plaything'° for evildoing folk,     So they said: "On God we relied/depended. Our Lord do not make/put us (as a) test to the nation the unjust/oppressors."     fqalwa `li allh twklna rbna latj`lna ftn+ llqwm alZalmyn
 
86.  *     "And deliver us by Thy Mercy from those who reject (Thee)."     and save us, by Thy grace, from people who deny the truth!"     And save/rescue us with Your mercy from the nation the disbelievers.     wnjna brHmtk mn alqwm alkafryn
 
87.  *     We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers: and give glad tidings to those who believe!"     And [thus] did We inspire Moses and his brother: "Set aside for your people some houses in the city, and [tell them], `Turn your houses into places of worship,'°' and be constant in prayer!' And give thou [O Moses] the glad tiding [of God's succour] to all believers."     And We inspired/transmitted to Moses and his brother that you (B) reside/establish houses/homes to your (B)'s nation by a city/border/region/Egypt, and make your houses/homes direction, and keep up the prayers, and announce good news (to) the believers.     wawHyna ali mwsi waKyh an tbw'a lqwmkma bmSr bywta waj`lwa bywtkm qbl+ waqymwa alSla+ wb$r almWmnyn
 
88.  *     Moses prayed: "Our Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on Pharaoh and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of the present, and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface our Lord, the features of their wealth, and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty."     And Moses prayed: "O our Sustainer! Verily, splendour and riches hast Thou vouchsafed, in the life of this world, unto Pharaoh and his great oneswith the result, O our Sustainer, that they are leading [others] astray from Thy path!'°s O our Sustainer! Wipe out their riches, and harden their hearts, so that they may not attain to faith ere they see the grievous suffering [that awaits them]!"     And Moses said: "Our Lord, that You, You gave/brought Pharaoh and his nobles/assembly decoration/beauty/ornament and properties/possessions/wealth in the present world/worldly life, our Lord, to misguide (E) from Your way/path, our Lord wipe out/destroy on their properties/possessions/wealths and stamp/hit on their hearts/minds so they do not believe until they see the torture the painful."     wqal mwsi rbna ank atyt fr`wn wmlah zyn+ wamwala fy alHya+ aldnya rbna lyDlwa `n sbylk rbna aTms `li amwalhm wa$dd `li qlwbhm fla yWmnwa Hti yrwa al`Xab alalym
 
89.  *     Allah said: "Accepted is your prayer (O Moses and Aaron)! So stand ye straight, and follow not the path of those who know not."     [God] answered: "Accepted is this your prayer!'° Continue, then, both of you, steadfastly on the right way, and follow not the path of those who have no knowledge [of right and wrong]."     He said: "Your (B)'s call/request/prayer had been answered/replied to, so be straight/direct, and do not follow (the) way/path (of) those who do not know."     qal qd ajybt d`wtkma fastqyma wlattb`an sbyl alXyn lay`lmwn
 
90.  *     We took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed with the flood, he said: "I believe that there is no god except Him Whom the Children of Israel believe in: I am of those who submit (to Allah in Islam)."     And We brought the children of Israel across the sea; and thereupon Pharaoh and his hosts pursued them with vehement insolence and tyranny, until [they were overwhelmed by the waters of the sea. And] when he was about to drown, [Pharaoh] exclaimed:"° "I have come to believe that there is no deity save Him in whom the children of Israel believe, and I am of those who surrender themselves unto Him!"     And We crossed/passed/passed through with Israel's sons and daughters the sea, so Pharaoh and his soldiers/warriors followed them (with) transgression and violating/breaking until when the drowning/sinking caught up/overtook him, he said: "I believed that He is, no God except who Israel's descendants believed with Him, and I am from the Moslems/submitters."     wjawzna bbny asraYyl albHr fatb`hm fr`wn wjnwdh bGya w`dwa Hti aXa adrkh alGrq qal amnt anh laalh ala alXy amnt bh bnw asraYyl wana mn almslmyn
 
91.  *     (It was said to him): "Ah now!- But a little while before, wast thou in rebellion!- and thou didst mischief (and violence)!     [But God said:] "Now?"-when ever before this thou hast been rebelling [against Us], and hast been among those who spread corruption?     Now, and you had disobeyed before, and you were from the corrupting ?     'alan wqd `Syt qbl wknt mn almfsdyn
 
92.  *     "This day shall We save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!"     [Nay,] but today We shall save only thy body, so that thou mayest be a [warning] sign unto those who will come after thee: for, behold, a good many people are heedless of Our messages!"     So the day/today We save/rescue you with your body/top set (of) armor to be to who (is) behind you an evidence/sign, and that many from the people (are) from Our evidences/verses/signs ignoring/disregarding (E).     falywm nnjyk bbdnk ltkwn lmn Klfk ay+ wan kxyra mn alnas `n ayatna lGaflwn
 
93.  *     We settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful dwelling-place, and provided for them sustenance of the best: it was after knowledge had been granted to them, that they fell into schisms. Verily Allah will judge between them as to the schisms amongst them, on the Day of Judgment.     And [thereafter], indeed, We assigned unto the children of Israel a most goodly abode, and provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life. And it was not until knowledge [of God's revelation] was vouchsafed to them that they began to .hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all on which they were wont to differ.' 14     And We had resided/settled to Israel's sons and daughters truthful residence/settlement, and We provided for them from the goodnesses, so they did not differ/disagree/dispute until the knowledge came to them, that your Lord passes judgment (settles) between them (in) the Resurrection Day in what they were in it differing/disagreeing/disputing.     wlqd bwana bny asraYyl mbwa Sdq wrzqnahm mn alTybat fma aKtlfwa Hti ja'hm al`lm an rbk yqDy bynhm ywm alqyam+ fyma kanwa fyh yKtlfwn
 
94.  *     If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.     AND SO, [O man,] if thou art in doubt about [the truth of] what We have [now] bestowed upon thee from on high, ask those who read the divine writ [revealed] before thy time :116 [and thou wilt find that,]  accepted from those who do evil deeds until their dying hour, and then say, `Behold, I now repent'."  surely, the truth has now come unto thee from thy Sustainer. Be not, then, among the doubters -     So if you were in doubt/suspicion from what We descended to you, so ask/question those who read The Book from before you, the truth had come to you from your Lord, so do not be from the doubting/arguing.     fan knt fy $k mma anzlna alyk fsAl alXyn yqrWwn alktab mn qblk lqd ja'k alHq mn rbk fla tkwnn mn almmtryn
 
95.  *     Nor be of those who reject the signs of Allah, or thou shalt be of those who perish.     and neither be among those who are bent on giving the lie to God's messages, lest thou find thyself among the lost.     And do not be from those who lied/denied/falsified with God's verses/evidences/signs, so you be from the losers.     wlatkwnn mn alXyn kXbwa bayat allh ftkwn mn alKasryn
 
96.  *     Those against whom the word of thy Lord hath been verified would not believe-     Verily, they against whom thy Sustainer's word [of judgment] has come true' 17 will not attain to faith -     That those who God's word/expression (was) deserved on them do not believe.     an alXyn Hqt `lyhm klm+ rbk layWmnwn
 
97.  *     Even if every Sign was brought unto them,- until they see (for themselves) the penalty grievous.     even though every sign [of the truth] should come within their ken - until they behold the grievous suffering [that awaits them in the life to come]. 118     And even if every/each verse/evidence/sign came to them, until they see/understand the torture the painful.     wlw ja'thm kl ay+ Hti yrwa al`Xab alalym
 
98.  *     Why was there not a single township (among those We warned), which believed,- so its faith should have profited it,- except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the penalty of ignominy in the life of the present, and permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while.     For, alas,9 there has never yet been any community that attained to faith [in its entirety,] and thereupon benefited by its faith, except the people of Jonah.`2° When they came to believe, We removed from them the suffering of disgrace [which otherwise would have befallen them even] in the life of this world, and allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them.'     So where it not for a village/urban city (that) believed, so its faith/belief benefited it, except Jonah's/Yonis' nation, when they believed We removed/uncovered (relieved) from them the shameful/scandalous/disgraceful torture in the present world/worldly life, and We gave them long life/made they enjoy to a time.     flwla kant qry+ amnt fnf`ha aymanha ala qwm ywns lma amnwa k$fna `nhm `Xab alKzy fy alHya+ aldnya wmt`nahm ali Hyn
 
99.  *     If it had been thy Lord's will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe!     And [thus it is:] had thy Sustainer so willed, all those who live on earth would surely have attained to faith, all of them: 122 dost thou, then, think that thou couldst compel people to believe,     And if your Lord wanted/willed who is in the earth/Planet Earth all of them, all/all together would have believed (E), so do you compel/force the people until they be believers/believing?     wlw $a' rbk lamn mn fy alarD klhm jmy`a afant tkrh alnas Hti ykwnwa mWmnyn
 
100.  *     No soul can believe, except by the will of Allah, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.     notwithstanding that no human being can ever attain to faith otherwise than by God's leave, '23 and [that] it is He who lays the loathsome evil [of disbelief] upon those who will not use -their reason?"     And (it) was not to a self that she/it believes except with God's permission, and He makes/puts the142obscenity/filth on those who do not reason/understand/comprehend.     wmakan lnfs an tWmn ala baXn allh wyj`l alrjs `li alXyn lay`qlwn
 
101.  *     Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and on earth"; but neither Signs nor Warners profit those who believe not.     Say: "Consider whatever there is in the heavens and on earth!"  But of what avail could all the messages and all the warnings be to people who will not believe?     Say: "Look/see, what is in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, and the evidences/verses, and the warning/notices do not satisfy/suffice from a nation (that) do not believe."     ql anZrwa maXa fy alsmawat walarD wmatGny alayat walnXr `n qwm layWmnwn
 
102.  *     Do they then expect (any thing) but (what happened in) the days of the men who passed away before them? Say: "Wait ye then: for I, too, will wait with you."     Can such, then, expect anything else [to befall them] but the like of the days of [calamity which befell] those [deniers of the truth] who passed away before them?  Say: "Wait, then, [for what will happen) verily, I shall wait with you!"     So do they wait/watch (for) except as/like days/times (of) those who past/expired from before them, Say: "So wait/watch, that I am with you from the waiting/watching."     fhl yntZrwn ala mxl ayam alXyn Klwa mn qblhm ql fantZrwa any m`km mn almntZryn
 
103.  *     In the end We deliver Our apostles and those who believe: Thus is it fitting on Our part that We should deliver those who believe!     [For thus it always happens: We seal the doom of all who deny the truth and give the lie to Our messages;] and thereupon We save Our apostles and those who have attained to faith. '25 Thus have We willed it upon Ourselves: We save all who believe [in US],126     Then We save/rescue Our messengers and those who believed, as/like that truthfully on Us We save/rescue the believers.     xm nnjy rslna walXyn amnwa kXlk Hqa `lyna nnj almWmnyn
 
104.  *     Say: "O ye men! If ye are in doubt as to my religion, (behold!) I worship not what ye worship, other than Allah. But I worship Allah - Who will take your souls (at death): I am commanded to be (in the ranks) of the Believers,     SAY [O Prophet]: "O mankind! If you are in doubt as to what my faith is, then [know that] I do not worship those beings whom you worship beside God,'n but [that] I worship God alone, who shall cause you [all] to die:'2' for I have been bidden to be among those who believe [in Him alone]."     Say: "You, you the people, if you were in doubt/suspicion of/from my religion, so I do not worship those whom you worship from other than God, and but I worship God who makes you die, and I was ordered/commanded that I be from the believers."     ql yaayha alnas an kntm fy $k mn dyny fla a`bd alXyn t`bdwn mn dwn allh wlkn a`bd allh alXy ytwfakm wamrt an akwn mn almWmnyn
 
105.  *     "And further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers;     Hence, [O man,] set thy face steadfastly towards the [true] faith, turning away from all that is false,'29 and be not among those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God.     And that stand/keep up your face/front/direction to the religion (as) a submitter/Unifier of God, and do not be from the sharers/takers of partners (with God).     wan aqm wjhk lldyn Hnyfa wlatkwnn mn alm$rkyn
 
106.  *     "'Nor call on any, other than Allah.- Such will neither profit thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those who do wrong.'"     Thus, do not invoke, side by side with God, anything that can neither benefit thee nor harm thee: for, behold, if thou do it, thou wilt surely be among the evildoers!     And do not call from other than God what does not benefit you and does not harm you, so if you made/did, so that you are then from the unjust/oppressors.     wlatd` mn dwn allh malaynf`k wlayDrk fan f`lt fank aXa mn alZalmyn
 
107.  *     If Allah do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He: if He do design some benefit for thee, there is none can keep back His favour: He causeth it to reach whomsoever of His servants He pleaseth. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.     And [know that] if God should touch thee with misfortune, there is none who could remove it save Him; and if He intends good for thee, there is none who could turn away His bounty: He causes it to alight upon whomsoever He wills of His servants. And He alone is truly forgiving, truly a dispenser of grace.     And if God touches you with harm, so (there is) no remover/uncoverer (reliever) to it except Him, and if He wants/wills/intends you with goodness/generosity, so (there is) no returner for His grace/favour/blessing, He strikes/hits with it whom He wills/wants from His worshippers/slaves, and He is the forgiving, the merciful.     wan ymssk allh bDr fla ka$f lh ala hw wan yrdk bKyr fla rad lfDlh ySyb bh mn y$a' mn `badh whw alGfwr alrHym
 
108.  *     Say: "O ye men! Now Truth hath reached you from your Lord! those who receive guidance, do so for the good of their own souls; those who stray, do so to their own loss: and I am not (set) over you to arrange your affairs."     SAY [O Prophet]: "O mankind! The truth from your Sustainer has now come unto you. Whoever, therefore, chooses to follow the right path, follows it but for his own good; and whoever chooses to go astray, goes but astray to his own hurt. 109.  *     Follow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and constant, till Allah do decide: for He is the best to decide.     And [as for thyself, O Muhammad,] follow but what is being revealed unto thee, and be patient in adversity, until God shall give His judgment: for He is the best of all judges.  and not a "duty" on His part: for, neither is anything "incumbent" upon Him who has the power to will anything, nor-as Razi points out-has man any "right" with regard to his Creator.     And follow what is inspired/transmitted to you, and be patient until God judges/rules, and He is best (of) the judges/rulers. 143     watb` maywHi alyk waSbr Hti yHkm allh whw Kyr alHakmyn
