1.  *     O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.     O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take My enemies - who are your enemies as well [1]1 - for your friends, showing them affectionn even though they are bent on denying whatever truth has come unto you, [and even though] they have driven the Apostle and yourselves away, [only] because you believe in God, your Sustainer! [2]2 If [it be true that] you have gone forth [from your homes] to strive in My cause, and out of a longing for My goodly acceptance, [do not take them for your friends,] inclining towards them in secret affection: for I am fully aware of all that you may conceal as well as of all that you do openly. And any of you who does this has already strayed from the right path. [3]3     You, you those who believed, do not take My enemy and your enemy (as) guardians/allies, you throw to them with the love/affection, and they had disbelieved with what came to you from the truth, they drive/bring out the messenger and you, (because) that (E) you believe with (in) God your Lord, if you had gotten out/appeared struggling/defending for the faith in My way/path, and wishing/desiring My acceptances/approvals, you keep secret to them with the love/affection, and I am more knowledgeable with what you hid, and what you declared/publicized, and who makes/does it from you, so he had been misguided/lost (from) the way's/path's straightness/middle.     swr+ almmtHn+  bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? yaayha alXyn amnwa lattKXwa `dwy w`dwkm awlya' tlqwn alyhm balmwd+ wqd kfrwa bma ja'km mn alHq yKrjwn alrswl wayakm an tWmnwa ballh rbkm an kntm Krjtm jhada fy sbyly wabtGa' mrDaty tsrwn alyhm balmwd+ wana a`lm bma aKfytm wmaa`lntm wmn yf`lh  mnkm fqd Dl swa' alsbyl

2.  *     If they were to get the better of you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you for evil: and they desire that ye should reject the Truth.     If they could but overcome you, they would [still] remain your foes, and would stretch forth their hands and tongues against you with evil intent: for they desire that you [too] should deny the truth.     If they defeat/overcome you they be for you enemies, and they extend/spread their hands and their tongues to you with the bad/evil/harm, and they wished/loved if you disbelieve.     an yxqfwkm ykwnwa lkm a`da' wybsTwa alykm aydyhm walsnthm balsw' wwdwa lw tkfrwn

3.  *     Of no profit to you will be your relatives and your children on the Day of Judgment: He will judge between you: for Allah sees well all that ye do.     But [bear in mind that] neither your kinsfolk nor [even] your own children will be of any benefit to you on Resurrection Day, [for then] He will decide between you [on your merit alone]: and God sees all that you do.     Your relations and nor your children will never/not benefit you (on) the Resurrection Day, He separates/judges/decides between you, and God (is) with what you make/do seeing/knowing     ln tnf`km arHamkm wlaawladkm ywm alqyam+ yfSl bynkm wallh bma t`mlwn bSyr

4.  *     There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah. we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal.     Indeed, 'you have had a good example in Abraham and those who followed him, when they said unto their [idolatrous] people: "Verily, we are quit of you and of all that you worship instead of God: we deny the truth of whatever you believe; and between us and you there has arisen enmity and hatred, to last until such a time^ [4]4 as you come to believe in the One God!" The only exception was [5]5 Abraham's saying to his father "I shall indeed pray for [God's] forgiveness for thee, [6]6 although I have it not in my power to obtain anything from God in thy behalf." [And Abraham and his followers prayed:] "O our Sustainer! In Thee have we placed our trust, and unto Thee do we turn: for unto Thee is all journeys' end.     A good example/model (to follow) had been for you in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their nation: "We are innocent/separating from you, and from what you worship from other than God, we disbelieved with you, and the animosity and the intense hatred appeared between us and between you (for) ever (E), until you believe with (in) God alone." Except Abraham's word/statement to his father: "I will ask for forgiveness for you, and I do not own/possess for you from God from a thing, our Lord, on You we relied depended (on), and to You we returned/repented, and to You (is) the end/destination."     qd kant lkm asw+ Hsn+ fy abrahym walXyn m`h aX qalwa lqwmhm ana brAWa mnkm wmma t`bdwn mn dwn allh kfrna bkm wbda bynna wbynkm al`dwa+ walbGDa' abda Hti tWmnwa ballh wHdh ala qwl abrahym labyh lastGfrn lk wmaamlk lk mn allh mn $Y rbna `lyk twklna  walyk anbna walyk almSyr

5.  *     "Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."     O our Sustainer! Make us not a plaything [7]7 for those who are bent on denying the truth! And forgive us our sins, O our sustainer: for Thou alone art, almighty, truly wise!"     Our Lord do not make/put us (as) a test/allurement to those who disbelieved, and forgive for us, our Lord, that You truly are, You are, the glorious/mighty, the wise/judicious.     rbna latj`lna ftn+ llXyn kfrwa waGfr lna rbna ank ant al`zyz alHkym

6.  *     There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow,- for those whose hope is in Allah and in the Last Day. But if any turn away, truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise.     In them, indeed, you have a good example for everyone who looks forward [with hope and awe^ [8]8] to God and the Last Day. And if any turns away, [let him know that] God is truly self-sufficient, the One to whom all praise is due."     A good example/model (to follow) had been for you in them, to who was hoping/expecting God, and the Day the Last/Resurrection Day; and who turns away, so then God, He is the rich, the praiseworthy/commendable.     lqd kan lkm fyhm asw+ Hsn+ lmn kan yrjw allh walywm alaKr wmn ytwl fan allh hw alGny alHmyd

7.  *     It may be that Allah will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For Allah has power (over all things); And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.     [But] it may well be that God will bring about [mutual] affection between you [0 believers] and some of those whom you [now] face as enemies: for, God is all-powerful - and God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.     Maybe/perhaps that (E) God makes/puts between you, and between those whom you made animosity with, from them, love/affection/friendship, and God (is) capable/able, and God (is) forgiving, merciful.     `si allh an yj`l bynkm wbyn alXyn `adytm mnhm mwd+ wallh qdyr wallh Gfwr rHym

8.  *     Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.     As for such [of the unbelievers] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to behave towards them with full equity: [9]9 for, verily, God loves those who act equitably.     God does not forbid/prevent you from those who did not fight/kill you in the religion, and they did not bring/drive you out from your houses/countries, that (E) you be righteous/charitable/truthful to them, and be just/equitable to them, that truly God loves/likes the just/equitable.     laynhakm allh `n alXyn lm yqatlwkm fy aldyn wlm yKrjwkm mn dyarkm an tbrwhm wtqsTwa alyhm an allh yHb almqsTyn

9.  *     Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.     God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of [your] faith, and drive you forth from your homelands, or aid [others] in driving you forth: and as for those [from among you] who turn towards them in friendship; it is they, they who are truly wrongdoers!     But God forbids/prevents you from those who fought/killed you in the religion, and they brought/drove you out from your houses/countries, and they cooperated/supported on forcing/driving you out, that (E) you follow them, and who follows them, so those, they are the unjust/oppressive.     anma ynhakm allh `n alXyn qatlwkm fy aldyn waKrjwkm mn dyarkm wZahrwa `liaKrajkm an twlwhm wmn ytwlhm fawlYk hm alZalmwn

10.  *     O ye who believe! When there come to you believing women refugees, examine (and test) them: Allah knows best as to their Faith: if ye ascertain that they are Believers, then send them not back to the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) for the Unbelievers, nor are the (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) for them. But pay the Unbelievers what they have spent (on their dower), and there will be no blame on you if ye marry them on payment of their dower to them. But hold not to the guardianship of unbelieving women: ask for what ye have spent on their dowers, and let the (Unbelievers) ask for what they have spent (on the dowers of women who come over to you). Such is the command of Allah. He judges (with justice) between you. And Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom.     O YOU who have attained to faith! Whenever believing women come unto you, forsaking the domain of evil, [10]10 examine them, [although only] God is fully aware of their faith; [11]11 and if you have thus ascertained that they are believers, do not send them back to the deniers of the truth, [since] they are [no longer] lawful to their erstwhile husbands, [12]12 and these are [no longer] lawful to them. None the less, you shall return to them whatever they have spent [on their wives by way of dower]; [13]13 and [then, O believers,] you will be committing no sin if you marry them after giving them their dowers. On the other hand, hold not to the marriage-tie with women who [continue to] deny the truth, [14]14 and ask but for [the return of] whatever you have spent [by way of dower] -just as they [whose wives have gone over to you] have the right to demand [15]15 [the return of] whatever they have spent. Such is God's judgment: He judges between you [in equity] - for God is all-knowing, wise.     You, you those who believed, if the believing females came to you emigrating, so test/examine them (F), God (is) more knowing with their faith/belief, so if you knew them (F) (to be) believers (F), so do not return them to the disbelievers, they (F) are not permitted/allowed for them, and nor they (the disbelievers) be permitted/allowed for them (F), and give them what they spent, and (there is) no offense/sin that (E) youmarry them (F) if you gave them (F) their rewards (dowries), and do not hold fast/grasp/seize with the (insisting) disbelievers' ties/bonds (discontinue marriage to disbelieving women), and ask (for) what you spent, and they should ask (for) what they spent, that (is) God's judgment/rule, He judges/rules between you, and God (is) knowledgeable, wise/judicious.     yaayha alXyn amnwa aXa ja'km almWmnat mhajrat famtHnwhn allh a`lm baymanhn fan `lmtwhn mWmnat fla trj`whn ali alkfar lahn Hl lhm wlahm yHlwn lhn watwhm maanfqwa wlajnaH `lykm an tnkHwhn aXa atytmwhn ajwrhn wlatmskwa b`Sm alkwafr wasAlwa  maanfqtm wlysAlwa maanfqwa Xlkm Hkm allh yHkm bynkm wallh `lym Hkym

11.  *     And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers, and ye have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent (on their dower). And fear Allah, in Whom ye believe.     And if any of your wives should go over to the deniers of the truth, and you are thus afflicted in turn, [16]16 then give unto those whose wives have gone away the equivalent of what they had spent [on their wives by way of dower], [17]17 and remain conscious of God, in whom you believe!     And if a thing passed you from your spouses to the disbelievers, (so if you lost some of your possessions to disbelieving wives that left you) so you punished, so bring those whom their spouses went/took away (reimburse spouses of disbelievers) similar/equal (to) what they spent, and fear and obey God, whom you are with (in) Him believing.     wan fatkm $Y mn azwajkm ali alkfar f`aqbtm fatwa alXyn Xhbt azwajhm mxl maanfqwa watqwa allh alXy antm bh mWmnwn

12.  *     O Prophet! When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood, and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.     O Prophet! Whenever believing women come unto thee to pledge their allegiance to thee, [18]18 [pledging] that [henceforth] they would not ascribe divinity, in any way, to aught but God, and would not steal, [19]19 and would not commit adultery, and would not kill their clildren, [20]20 and would not indulge in slander, falsely devising it out of nothingness: [21]21 and would not disobey thee in anything [that thou declarest to be] right - then accept their pledge of allegiance, and pray to God to forgive them their [past] sins: for, behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.     You, you the prophet, if the believers (F) came to you, they (F) pledge/swear to you loyalty on that (E) they (F) not share/make partners with God a thing, and nor they (F) steal/rob, and nor they (F) commit adultery/fornication, and nor they (F) kill their (F) children, and nor they (F) do/commit with falsehood/slander (that) they (F) fabricate it between their (F) hands and their (F) feet, and nor they (F) disobey you in known/generosity, so pledge/swear to them (F) loyalty, and ask for forgiveness (P) for them (F) (from) God, that truly God (is) forgiving, merciful.     yaayha alnby aXa ja'k almWmnat ybay`nk `li an lay$rkn ballh $yYa wlaysrqn wlayznyn wlayqtln awladhn wlayatyn bbhtan yftrynh byn aydyhn warjlhn wlay`Synk fy m`rwf fbay`hn wastGfr lhn allh an allh Gfwr rHym
