1.  *     We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty."     BEHOLD. We sent Noah unto his people. [saying:] "Warn thy people ere grievous suffering befall them!     That We sent Noah to his nation, that (E) warn/give notice (to) your nation from before that (E) a painful torture comes to them.     swr+ nwH bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? ana arslna nwHa ali qwmh an anXr qwmk mn qbl an yatyhm `Xab alym
 
2.  *     He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open:     [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you]     He said: "My nation, that I am for you a clear/evident warner/giver of notice."     qal yaqwm any lkm nXyr mbyn
 
3.  *     "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me:     that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me,     That (E) worship God and fear and obey Him, and obey me.     an a`bdwa allh watqwh waTy`wn
 
4.  *     "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew."     so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: [1]1 but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!"     He forgives for you from your crimes, and He delays you to a named/identified (specified) term/time, that truly God's term/time if (it) came (it) does not be delayed, if you were knowing.     yGfr lkm mn Xnwbkm wyWKrkm ali ajl msmi an ajl allh aXa ja' layWKr lw kntm t`lmwn
 
5.  *     He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:     [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day     He said: "My Lord, that I, I called my nation at night/nightly and day time."     qal rb any d`wt qwmy lyla wnhara
 
6.  *     "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right).     but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. [2]2     So my call did not increase them except escape/fleeing.     flm yzdhm d`aYy ala frara
 
7.  *     "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance.     And behold, whenever I called unto them with a view to Thy granting them forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves up in their garments [of sin]; [3]3 and grew obstinate, and became [yet more] arrogant in their false pride.     And that I, whenever I called them (for You) to forgive for them, they made/put their fingers in their ears, and they covered/darkened themselves (with) their clothes/garments, and they persisted/insisted, and they became arrogant, arrogantly.     wany klma d`wthm ltGfr lhm j`lwa aSab`hm fy aXanhm wastG$wa xyabhm waSrwa wastkbrwa astkbara
 
8.  *     "So I have called to them aloud;     "And behold I called unto them openly;     Then, that I, I called them publicly.     xm any d`wthm jhara
 
9.  *     "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private,     and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private;     Then, that I, I declared/publicized for them, and I confided for them secretly.     xm any a`lnt lhm wasrrt lhm asrara
 
10.  *     "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving;     and I said: "Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving!     So I said: 'Ask for forgiveness (from) your Lord, that He truly was/is a forgiver/often, forgiving.'     fqlt astGfrwa rbkm anh kan Gfara
 
11.  *     "'He will send rain to you in abundance;     He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, [4]4     'He sends the sky/space on you flowing/pouring abundantly.'     yrsl alsma' `lykm mdrara
 
12.  *     "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water).     and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. [5]5     'And He extends/spreads you with properties/possessions, and sons and daughters, and He makes/puts for you treed gardens/paradises, and He makes/puts for you rivers/waterways.'     wymddkm bamwal wbnyn wyj`l lkm jnat wyj`l lkm anhara
 
13.  *     "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,-     "What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, [6]6     'Why for you, you do not hope/expect for God a glory/respect ?'     malkm latrjwn llh wqara
 
14.  *     "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages?     seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? [7]7     'And He had created you (in) parallels/varieties/stages.'     wqd Klqkm aTwara
 
15.  *     "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another,     "Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, [8]8     'Do you not see, understand how God created seven skies/space(s) (in) stages/layers/plates ?'     alm trwa kyf Klq allh sb` smwat Tbaqa
 
16.  *     "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?     and has set up within them the moon as a light [reflected] and set up the sun as a [radiant] lamp? [9]9     'And He made/put the moon in them (as) a light, and He made/put the sun (as) a lamp.'     wj`l alqmr fyhn nwra wj`l al$ms sraja
 
17.  *     "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually),     "And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; [10]10 and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]:     'And God sprouted/grew you from the earth/Planet Earth (as) plants/growth.'     wallh anbtkm mn alarD nbata
 
18.  *     "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)?     and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. [11]11     Then He returns/repeats you in it, and He brings you out bringing out.'"     xm y`ydkm fyha wyKrjkm aKraja
 
19.  *     "'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),     "And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you,     'And God made/put for you the earth/Planet Earth outstretched/widened.'     wallh j`l lkm alarD bsaTa
 
20.  *     "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'"     so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" [12]12     To pass/thread from it wide mountain paths roads/paths."'     ltslkwa mnha sbla fjaja
 
21.  *     Noah said: "O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss.     [And] Noah continued: "O my Sustainer! Behold, they have opposed me [throughout], for they follow people whose wealth and children lead them increasingly into ruin, [13]13     Noah said: "My Lord, that they truly disobeyed me, and they followed who his properties/possessions, and his children/child did not increase him except loss."     qal nwH rb anhm `Swny watb`wa mn lm yzdh malh wwldh ala Ksara
 
22.  *     "And they have devised a tremendous Plot.     and who have devised a most awesome blasphemy [against Thee],     And they cheated/deceived, a great/magnified cheatery/deceit.     wmkrwa mkra kbara
 
23.  *     "And they have said (to each other), 'Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', neither Yaguth nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr';-     inasmuch as they said [to their followers], 'Do not ever abandon your gods: abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', and neither Yaghuth nor Ya'uq nor Nasr!' [14]14     And they said: "Do not leave (E) your gods, and do not leave (E) Waddan (could be an idol god), and nor Sowa'an (a female idol god, worshipped by Hothail tribe of Arabs in pre-Islam), and nor Yaghootha (an idol god), and Yaooka (an idol god), and Nasran (an idol god)."     wqalwa latXrn alhtkm wlatXrn wda wlaswa`a wlayGwx wy`wq wnsra
 
24.  *     "They have already misled many; and grant Thou no increase to the wrong- doers but in straying (from their mark)."     "And so they have led many a one astray: hence, ordain Thou that these evildoers stray but farther and farther away [from all that they may desire]!" [15]15     And they had misguided many, and (my Lord), do not increase the unjust/oppressive except misguidance.     wqd aDlwa kxyra wlatzd alZalmyn ala Dlala
 
25.  *     Because of their sins they were drowned (in the flood), and were made to enter the Fire (of Punishment): and they found- in lieu of Allah. none to help them.     And so, because of their sins, they were drowned [in the great flood], and were doomed to suffer the fire [of the hereafter]; [16]16 and they found none who could succour them against God.     From what their sins/wrongs they were drowned/sunken, so they were made to enter fire, so they did not find for them from other than God victoriors/saviors.     mma KTyYathm aGrqwa fadKlwa nara flm yjdwa lhm mn dwn allh anSara
 
26.  *     And Noah, said: "O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth!     And Noah prayed: "O my Sustainer! Leave not on earth any of those who deny the truth:     And Noah said: "My Lord, do not leave on the earth/Planet Earth from the disbelievers a resident/inhabitant."     wqal nwH rb latXr `li alarD mn alkafryn dyara
 
27.  *     "For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.     for, behold, If Thou dost leave them, they will [always try to] lead astray those who worship Thee, and will give birth to nothing but wickedness and stubborn ingratitude. [17]17     That You, if You leave them, they misguide Your worshippers/servants, and they do not give birth except (to a) debaucher/corrupter, disbeliever.     ank an tXrhm yDlwa `badk wlayldwa ala fajra kfara
 
28.  *     "O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women: and to the wrong-doers grant Thou no increase but in perdition!"     "O my Sustainer! Grant Thy forgiveness unto me and unto my parents, and unto everyone who enters my house as a believer, and unto all believing men and believing women [of later times]; and grant Thou that the doers of evil shall increasingly meet with destruction!"
